Army Veteran Cassie McEuen’s home was horribly vandalized on Armed Forces day with phrases such as ‘f**k the military’ and ‘home of a soldier’ written in black spray paint:
When the community heard about it they came out in force to right this terrible wrong via Controversial Times:
McEuen seemed to take the incident in stride, posting on her Facebook page, “I’ve been attacked, and the vandal can’t spell. Apparently I’m a ‘soilder’ instead of soldier.”
Nick Arnold, with the Facebook group 307 Long Range saw the post and quickly started organizing a response. He told us he didn’t know McEuen personally or even what unit she served with, but “what I do know is that somebody disgraced soldiers and it happened right here in our community, and we can do something about it.”
That call to action led to almost 100 people from throughout Wyoming to come to Cassie’s apartment and remove the damage – and add a new coat of paint where needed.
What a fantastic response from the community. Even businesses pitched in with supplies to help remove the vandalism.
