Florida law requiring 24-hour waiting period before abortions UPHELD BY COURT!

This is really great news for Florida. An appeals court has upheld the 24-hour waiting period before abortions are to take place and because of this the law is now in full effect and will hopefully save lives:

CBN NEWS – A Florida law requiring women to wait at least 24 hours to have an abortion goes into effect on Monday.

A three-judge panel from Florida’s First District Court of Appeal said the opposition failed to prove the waiting period would create irreparable harm.

Responding by email for the ACLU, Nancy Abudu, the group’s legal director in Florida, vowed to do “everything in our power to ensure that this demeaning and intrusive law is quickly stopped in its tracks.”

Republican Gov. Rick Scott signed the waiting period into law last year, but a judge blocked it.

The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jennifer Sullivan, R-Eustis, was “absolutely ecstatic” the injunction was lifted.

“This is a huge win for women’s health and the ability for women to have a face-to-face consultation with the doctor before the procedure,” Sullivan said.
