Former billionaire backer for Rick Santorum announces he’s running for governor

Remember the billionaire backer for Rick Santorum back in 2012, Foster Friess? We’ll he’s just announced he’s running for the governor of Wyoming:

DC EXAMINER – Republican megadonor Foster Friess told party leaders in Wyoming that he plans on running for governor.

It is expected that Friess will make an official announcement Friday afternoon at the Wyoming Republican Party’s convention, the Washington Examiner confirmed.

Friess has expressed interest in running for public office in the past. In 2017, he said that he was thinking about running for Senate, and was even considering a primary run against Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo.

Current Wyoming Governor Matt Mead is term-limited, and many Republicans are running for the open primary seat to succeed him in the red state.

The state treasurer, Mark Gordon, is currently the frontrunner for the primary.

I don’t know a huge amount about Friess, other than he backed Santorum and then Romey back in 2012.

And that he made that funny, but controversial comment about women and contraception from back in his day…something about women putting a nickel between their knees. LOL!
