Remember when Tony Perkins from the FRC called out the Southern Poverty Law Center for creating an environment that led to the shooting? Well he couldn’t have been more right:

hatemap

CNS NEWS – Floyd Lee Corkins II, who pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to the Aug. 15 shooting at the Family Research Council (FRC), identified his target on the website of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which includes a “Hate Map” that labels the FRC as “Anti-Gay.

As the court filing’s “Statement of Offense” for United States of America v. Floyd Lee Corkins II reads, “He was a political activist and considered the FRC a lobbying group. He committed the shooting for political reasons. He had identified the FRC as an anti-gay organization on the Southern Poverty Law Center Website.”

Although charged on 10 counts, Corkins pleaded guilty to three: act of terrorism while armed; assault with intent to kill while armed; and interstate transportation of a firearm and ammunition.

He admitted to opening fire at the FRC, which is a conservative, pro-family group, and wounding the security guard there. And his actions were designated an act of terrorism, to which he also pleaded guilty.

The SPLC surely didn’t pull the trigger, but the fact that their ‘hate map’ was used to identify FRC as an anti-gay target of hate…well, that speaks tons for itself. I’m sure the left will come down on the SPLC like they did Sarah Palin with her political map that the shooter in Arizona never even saw.

Scoop, holding your breath that long could prove fatal.

    Is this lawsuitable??

    • c4pfan

I would anyway. That’s what a lib would do!

    • John Christensen

You cant sue the Tolerati. That’s outrageous!

  • marketcomp

Well isn’t this interesting! Not a teaparty group but a liberal think tank?! And why haven’t we heard anything aboutthis from the MSM like we heard about Jarad Loughner, who murder and shot Gabby Gillfords, trying to say he was a member of the tea party?

  • aposematic

I would say the SPLC is one of the most dispicable groups on this Planet; but I won’t because I don’t want to get sued (the SPLC are lawyers and sueing is one of their favorite pastimes) or thrown in jail for “hate” speech (labeling people racists is another one of their favorite pastimes).

  • c4pfan

No one has gone through what Sarah and her family has. I remember someone took that map down at Sarah’s site and people acted like that was admission of guilt & then it was put back up. It makes me so angry that the Southern Poverty Law bully gets away with their hate.

    • Orangeone

The Dems always get away with hate spewing and it starts with the head of the snake.

  • sjmom

The SLPC needs to be prosecuted as well for a hate map.

Sure Kirsten. Nothing wrong with jackboot thugs at the SPLC except they did not take the map down.

It’s all just a curious moral equivalence from your gilded perch in DC.

    • Orangeone

“I’m no fan of FRC” – color me shocked Kirsten, really, color me shocked!

      • las1

She just had to reassure everyone that she’s not really a conservative. She just happens to say really conservative things… and not too unoften. But just so she can still be on the cool kids team… she has to say the obligatory: “Im no fan of FRC”

But who knows, maybe she’ll admit that maybe multiple baby-daddys and single moms and lack of morals just may not be in the interest of society. And oops! Isn’t that like being “a fan of FRC”… sort of maybe kinda.

        • Orangeone

          :):):):):)

  • Orangeone

I know I’m asking a rhetorical question here but here goes. Why is this case not used as an example during the gun control debates?

    • tinlizzieowner

You already know the answer to that one. ;-)

    • las1

Get outta town there fluffyone. You’re just playin’ with us, ain’t cha?

      • Orangeone

I feel the need for a scratching post :) Actually I’d like to toss this in the face of MN’s legislators that are trying to turn us law-abiding citizens into felons. They slurped up Barky Boy’s disarm the citizens soup and are ready to boil us while also raising our taxes. Well our neighbor to the East is contacting business owners and inviting us to move on over for lower taxes. Just waiting for them to contact permit holders and hunting license owners and invite all those too!

        • las1

          Forget Wisconsin… look north.

Canada is 8th for corporate tax rates… contrasted with America’s 69th place.

          Our rate is 15%
          http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/story/2012/12/03/corporate-tax.html

And this from our Canada Revenue Agency:
          http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/crprtns/rts-eng.html

I mean… who are Canada’s leftists going to demonize and hate now that they have their dream President in the White House. To them… suddenly America is “on track”.

It’s definitely not a good sign when our leftists here start praising you… not a good sign at all.

          • Orangeone

I’ve thought about it, thought about trying to buy a business in Canada to diversify and minimize my risk a bit. But I’m not willing to sacrifice my 2nd Amendment to do it. Don’t you also have some pretty high providence taxes? And that “universal healthcare”.

            • las1

No 2nd, but British Common law at one time gave the right to defend and protect yourself. Then they started confiscating certain rifles not too long ago… and the police define what is or is not kosher for a “fire arm” on a whim… criminalizing law abiding citizens. You call it a weapon in the US… we call it “fire arms” here. That was a low point. But the Conservatives scrapped that stupid and expensive gun registry.

My provincial(how I wish it was a “providence” tax)income tax rate is usually half the federal rate. Federally 26% over 48K and provincially half that here in Ontario.

It used to be about 25 years ago that our healthcare was pretty good. That is now long gone and more expensive. I really dislike my present doctor, but am not allowed to get another one because of the shortage. So I just try not to get sick or even go and see one.

              • Orangeone

The MSM calls them weapons, we generally use firearm or guns or if using weapon “self defense weapon”.

Must be tired, thought I typed province….sp tonight…

We have lots of great neighbors to the north visit our Mayo Clinic, keep coming on down, I hear it accepts cash and no longer new Medicare and Medicaid patients, wait is still a little bit but cannot beat the quality of care.

Glad to hear of the positive firearms changes, BlueGood has been sharing some too. Who knows, if Canada would pass a 2nd Amendment, you just might attract a lot of hard working Americans and successful businesses.

                • las1

Providence tax… yeah I was just razzin you. But I though it kinda Freudian. Because if it was a providence tax, we know that the Lord would stop it at ten percent… max.

                • Orangeone

Feel free, I need a razzin from time to time :) I’d blame it on autocorrect (Providence is in state of Rhode Island) but Disqus doesn’t use it :(

          • PatrickHenrysBody

I did research on this and it’s really sad how far our country has been allowed to sink, thanks to our country-destroying authoritarian politicians (Zero, in particular). I have been considering employment in Canada, but am unable to bring myself to do so because of the socialized medicine and gun control issues there. However, it appears the United States is off to a rip-roaring start with ObamaCare and gun control of its own. I’ll have to find out how sharply left this country turns. If Zero gets his way on everything, I will rethink seeking employment in Canada for a certainty.

Try a third world country that doesn’t have the same restrictions as the US with a lower cost of living.

              • las1

Using your criteria with OZero at the helm, we just might get the “third world” part sooner than we think.

              • PatrickHenrysBody

At the rate we are going, we may not have to leave the U.S. to live in a third world country…excluding the lower cost of living part, of course. Thailand and the Philippines are just fine to me. I like Phuket and the Phi Phi (pronounced pee pee *snicker*) Islands in south Thailand and Cebu or Negros Occidental in the Philippines. There are days that go by with no electricity and running water over there. Their driving habits leave much to be desired, but all one has to do is navigate around the wrecks, which involves a fatality most of the time.

            • Orangeone

If I move there as well and we are close by, we can chat about you joining my team!

              • PatrickHenrysBody

                Sure! :-)

    • Sober_Thinking

I was thinking the same thing.

  • tinlizzieowner

If the Family Research Council had been a pro-Gay organization, he would have been tried (and convicted) for a ‘Hate Crime’ as well.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/ZVCGRG62NAGQXJ6ZNE4JCTVVTU Ray

The splc IS the hate group. They hate strait, white, male conservatives.

  • http://twitter.com/ember_george Ember George

I consider the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to be hatemongers. They are what they accuse others of being.

  • PatrickHenrysBody

Why hasn’t the map been taken down Kirsten? Because your leftist friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center are being ALLOWED to keep it there. They are obviously leftist radicals with a pinch of thuggery mixed therein. They are hoping their map will be used again by any one of the brainwashed leftist lunatics who will access their information and eliminate as many enemies of authoritarianism as they can. It’s a win-win situation for the SPLC and by extension for Zero as well.

  • syvyn11

Why is the map still up Ms. Powers? Simple. The rules for conservative are different than the ones for liberals. When you have the (D) next to your name, you can do what you want.

  • Sober_Thinking

Whew! He was only shooting at the FRC? Man, that was close… for a minute there I was concerned that he might have created an anti-Muslim movie or something.

The hypocrisy is now more than hip-deep. When vile organizations like SPLC (or even the ACLU) exist, then you start to realize just how low we’ve begun to sink as a nation. Groups like SPLC make the KKK look positively saintly.

It’s obvious that the media and especially the government won’t properly address this evil. I’d recommend giving the courts a shot (no gun lingo please) at this… though my hopes for justice is very low.

Leave this kind of evil up to man to solve and it never will. Leave this kind of evil up to God to solve and know that it will. Pray for the FRC and other worthy organizations that will be increasingly targetted by hate and evil.

And fight this attack on our 2nd Amendment rights… this is an excellent example of where people should be armed – just like teachers in schools.

What the heck has Southern poverty got to do with GAY and ISLAM?

The SCLC is evidently a Black Muslim organization – because being against gays and against Islam gets a group listed on their hate map: http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/hate-map#s=DC

That map explains the increase of ‘Down Low’ (bisexual) practice among black males and links it to the Black Muslim community. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down-low_(sexual_slang)

This also accounts for the recent virulent spread of AIDS among young black male bisexuals (and then infecting unsuspecting naive females).

The CDC reports that this group, black males, have the largest increase in cases of HIV and other STDs.

Due to sexual promiscuity in the US among those who cannot control their urges, there is a strain of gonnohrea that cannot be cured with any currently available antibiotics. HIV continues to morph and become uncontrollable as well.

HIV, HPV, Herpes and Hepatitis all mean lifelong contamination.

Since the Gay activists started their violent Alinsky-style campaign, first with their invasion of the APA (Psychiatric and Psychological) Conventions in 1973, the spread and number these infections have grown globally and exponentially.

Homo-bi-sexuals now are past an epidemic, they are experiencing a Syndemic – a phenomenon in which their various uncurable diseases interact and produce greater problems. http://daleoleary.wordpress.com/2012/11/30/the-syndemic-of-stds-among-gay-men/

HIV was spread across Africa by Muslim bi-sexuals.

Any fool would see the connection of certain sexual activities to these diseases, but not the Obama/Clinton crowd.

Obama has spent hundreds of millions of tax dollars to promote the gay lifestyle in public schools. As Secretary of State, Hillary made approval of the gay lifestyle and gay marriage a contingency for receiving aid from the US. Gays and women in the military. Gay poet at the inauguration…no one could even pray unless they were pro-gay.

NOW WE KNOW their true agenda. And we also know that facts, evidence, science research and CDC statistics are not figured into their policies and politics.

Obama/Clinton and SCLC have been outed.

    • Conniption Fitz

IF the SCLC were really interested in promoting prosperity in the South and among blacks, they would be teaching abstinence, faithful monogamous heterosexual marriage, parenting skills, study skills.

These are proven to overcome poverty.

This map proves the SCLC is a farce. They are really promoting the causes of poverty, racism, hate, intolerance, misogyny, violence, disease and early death.

      That’s a downright shame.

      • Conniption Fitz

NOTE – The SPLC hate map does list both racist hate groups like the Nation of Islam black supremacists and the Aryan white supremacists, but fails to list anti-semite groups like Islam itself, so one would have to conclude that hating Jews is not really real hate to the SPLC.

  • anneinarkansas

That group is spooky and dangerous.
    Keep after them, Tony.

  • BeyondPolls

I just looked at the ‘hate map’ and it’s really stupid. Their categories are really juvenile.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/44F4AB4VSCTOCHBMBG4ZWWD5OU Laurel

That map is somethin’ else. I went and looked at it. Public pressure needs to be brought to the forefront on this and force them to take it down. SPLC thinks they are righteous but they left out the ‘self’ out of that descriptor.

  • http://www.facebook.com/pegon.zellschmidt Pegon Zellschmidt

@kirsten powers: Just take it down and the shooting never happened and the man is back to ‘normal’ and SPLC’s hate doesn’t exist anymore. Liberalism.
