Fred Thompson says that Obama missed an opportunity with this statement to get the world on our side, to express outrage about what happened in Ukraine. Instead he said the President of the United States basically gave a police report about what happened:
The world is waiting for him to express something. And what he expressed is a police report, not a statement of the President of the United States about how outrageous this is.
Whether it’s a functionary of the Russian separatists in Eastern Ukraine who has been supported there, been uniformed, been furnished with equipment by Russia – everybody knows that.
Or whether it’s the Russians themselves. Either way, some outrage that this is happening.
What an opportunity to get the world, while the whole world is watching, on our side to get some help.
