This is a great interview with Marco Rubio on the proposed bipartisan immigration reform that clearly left Rush very impressed with Rubio.

Rubio and these other Senators don’t get that it comes down to “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
Enforce the border first…then we will talk.
It’s Marco Rubio’s dream to bring Cubans to America and this is his pathway to do it.
Cubans are more conservative. Republicans really should be sponsoring Cuban escape programs so we can take over swing states.
Those were the Cubans who lived once in a free Cuba, valued freedom and escaped Castro.
The sobering reality is that many illegal “hispanics” here now are rooted in Central and South American marxism. It is all they have ever known.
I know, that’s why we need to empty Cuba into America.
No , the ones in Cuba now are socialists. The ones that left Cuba for America are the conservatives, and they are not affected by immigration laws. They are all here legally
I beg to differ.
Anyone who came here without authorization is here illegally regardless of what country they are from. Some Cubans who try to escape get on a boat and get over with nothing and no immigration authority. You can’t really blame them since they are trying to escape a terrible dictatorship. In fact, lots of people who still live in Cuba don’t like the dictatorship because of the fact that it sucks (while others do like it). Are you saying that any child born after Castro took power is automatically a socialist just because he didn’t escape before he was born?
Cubans aren’t affected by our immigration laws since they all become legal when they get here, and the ones who would bother escaping Castro are conservatives. The ones who stay and support Cuba’s government are the Marxists.
It is true, Cubans are far more conservative then the other Latin Americans that come to our country. In shame, I observed the treatment and hatred of Cubans in Mexico in the 60’s. Basically, if a Cuban landed in Mexico, he didn’t stand much more of a chance than in Cuba.
Say no to amnesty. If we can even discuss the confiscation of millions of firearms from law abiding citizenry, then why can’t we dare to imagine we can deport millions of illegal aliens? If we can be infuriated that we didn’t empty New Orleans before and after Katrina, then why can’t we be as upset that illegals, living openly all over our nation, can’t be put on the same buses or planes and let out in their native lands. I’m afraid that makes entirely too much sense for some to grasp.
I hate amnesty and that’s not what Rubio has proposed. His idea got watered down in the committee.
Yes he is proposing amnesty, amnesty for the illegal acts they have committed which include illegal entry, remaining illegally, having their kids in our schools illegally, working for cash, tax evasion at the federal and state levels (of which the feds have no authority to do), failure to file tax returns (must report and pay taxes on cash received for work), receiving welfare, receiving foodstamps and I could go on.
RIGHT – lawbreakers are not good citizen material.
Especially Obama’s kinfolk…
They would not be instant citizens, so no it’s not amnesty.
Then we must arrest them all for tax evasion. Prison sentence can be up to life! Works for me, start building those shovel-ready prisons
I don’t know if that’s the right idea.
I am sorry, but I have listened to Sen. Rubio speak on this issue more than once. Unless you send illegals home and make them start from scratch like all other immigrants, you can call it ketchup, but it is still amnesty. No one believes for half a second that people who have already broken the law will get in line.
But we have been sending them home over and over again and they keep coming back! It’s an endless cycle. It’s dangerous for border patrol agents.
I have lived on both sides of the border. As crazy as it sounds, these plans have been in the planning for many years. I know because of the position I was in while living in Mexico. We cannot give into the small, subtle attempts to revoke our sovereignty and to bankrupt our nation.
We have solid and good immigration laws. Who says we must be subservient to the needs or will of the rest of the world? Why can’t we consider the needs of legal citizens?
We must think deeply. We must uphold our own, long-term laws. Unlike those of today, they were thought through and the end means were for our protection.
Listen closer next time. Listen multiple times so you get the full picture. I’ve lived this on both sides of the border. No one is going to adhere to his recommendations anyway, sad to say concerning some of his plan.
You probably have a better view than I do. But what are you suggesting instead of his plan?
Let’s uphold our immigration laws, no matter what the cost. As someone who has lived the violence of Mexico and, after the influx of illegal immigration, the violence of a border state, I can assure you we will save hard earned dollars in the long run. Illegal immigration’s effects such as poor education, loss of rural hospitals, insane criminal activity and the dilution of our own values (no, they do NOT value their families more than we do- do you know the rate of adultery in these populations?) will not go away because we wave a magic wand and legitimize their unlawful acts.
Our nation and its values are worth fighting for. Let’s start by upholding our own laws and protecting our citizenry from illegals.
You make some good points. I think this is really why the government has no true solution for immigration.
What? No they aren’t . Cuban’s are socialists.
Cuba is a communist country with a long history of dictatorship. It will take decades upon decades of allowing American tourism from them to ever be able to assimilate to capitalism. We don’t need yet another batch of gimme people.
I don’t see any evidence of that.
He has made public statements that he wants others from Cuba to come to America and publicly stated if required he would have entered our country illegally. That’s when my radar went off on this demorat
You are making a huge leap there. So what if he wants others to come from Cuba? He is Cuban after all…and if I lived in Cuba I would come illegally too…so would anyone with a braincell. Hell America should of made Cuba a state a couple of centuries ago when we had the chance.
I would do anything I had to to get out of that hellhole.
Is his plan a good one? Nope but accusing him of things doesn’t help the situation. I also don’t think he is all that conservative but I’m not going to accuse him of wanting uncontrolled immigration, legal or otherwise, from Cuba based on a statement.
Listen we have to ban together and defeat this bill and sounding like we are one step from a loony bin won’t get that done.
Failing to recognize the wolf in sheep’s clothing will land Dems right back in the House, Senate and WH again. It is never acceptable to be a proponent of violating our federal laws. The better position would be to say he wants to support opening trade and safe tourism for Americans to Cuba. We can help Cuba overcome it’s socialism and communism and their residents can stay right where they are.
On that I can agree with you but I still can understand why he would want them to immigrate here. I also understand anyone immigrating illegally from a rigid hardline communist country where you live in poverty and no hope of anything else. Cubans can’t afford to be tourists here…they are lucky if they can eat. And we won’t open tourism or real trade until communism falls.
We do grant political asylum in this country still. It isn’t outside the normal.
Not Cubans being tourists in America, assisting Cuba become a Constitutional Republic and increasing American tourism there. Fix the problem, don’t bring it here. We are not the world’s welfare country. Political asylum isn’t “I don’t like my country” it is for situations like the Christians being raped and murdered in Egypt because they are Christian.
My dear I suggest you look up what falls under political asylum. Pretty much any persecution of any kind does and that’s according to the law.
It will take a looong time for there to be anything worth seeing in Cuba and that’s even after communism falls. Most of what there is to see in Eastern Europe two decades after communism is WWII relics or relics that predate the last three centuries or more.
And yes we have been the world’s welfare country for over a century…..give us your tired, your poor, your hungry…
If this country hadn’t introduced entitlements into our society there wouldn’t be all of this resentment and anger.
If I may clarify for you, Social Security and Medicare are not entitlements. The government stole and continues to steal money from each worker and employer, and doubly from the self-employed business owner. We are a free country and if you think we owe the rest of the world because of our gov’t and policies, then your liberal stripes are showing.
Oh please political asylum because of a hang nail. Get over it. If you love illegals so much, why don’t you go and enter their country illegally and see how well you survive in prison.
Yes they are entitlements by every single measure. Recipient takes way more out than they put in. Every think tank in America agrees on that on both sides of the aisle. Every single government accountability office agrees on that as well and including SS Department itself. Now where did I specifically refer directly to SS or Medicare? Please show me. Give me a direct quote.
I don’t know why you are spoiling for a fight but your thinking is rigid at best. The minute you pulled out the ‘liberal stripes’ crapola I knew you were out of ammo.
I never said in any statement we owe the rest of the world a darn thing. Not once. You find it.
As to political asylum…I am just stating the facts. If you can’t handle that then that is your problem. Not mine. We grant asylum for persecution purposes all of the time. Persecution comes in many forms not just religious or political.
Do some homework.
Thread is out of space again. You said “If this country hadn’t introduced entitlements into our society there wouldn’t be all of this resentment and anger.” You are directly placing the blame on America and that is wrong. SS and Medicare are not entitlements they are broke and I will never collect the money the gov’t stole from me let alone the earnings. Ever hear of Time Value of Money? Look it up and do the calculation for yourself, you’d be surprised how fast the value of the theft grows.
You made assumptions. I was actually referring to ALL entitlements in every form…but yes SS and Medicare are entitlements and repeating over and over again they aren’t is silly. When one gets more than they pay in that makes it an entitlement.
86 Trillion in unfunded liabilities in regards to SS and Medicare is not just swiping the money and spending it. Those liabilities in part are because you have the single largest generation ever born in America retiring and they aborted those that would pay for that retirement especially after voting in complete and utter dolts that spent it and continue to do so even now. You have read the reports that it may go bankrupt sooner? Yeah because they keep dumping the revenue in the genral fund…THANKS BILL AND AL! If you were born 1965 and after forget about ever seeing SS and your healthcare will be Obamacare replete with a death panel. don’t have any kids that aren’t healthy either. They won’t stand a chance.
And no I wasn’t directly placing the blame on America but America is responsible for a lot of it. In a country of “Of the people, By the People, and For the People” how can it be otherwise?! I see the enemy and it is us.
My dear I certainly have heard of time value of money since my field is in that area. Nothing surprises me much anymore especially in regards to the government.
Unless Rubio and the Republican Senators plan to invade the DOJ office and take it over they have no way to enforce anything. This is the helplessness of the situation with Obama as president. The House actually has some power to stop Obama’s agenda at least on the spending front. Republican Senators have no power at all to do anything except draft a bill and talk. That’s it.
And now they have Obama out playing Republicans even further. He wants a kinder gentler immigration policy so Republicans look like the bad guys…and they will regardless of whether Obama gets what he wants or not. That is what they are doing playing Obama against Democrats. No one will remember those Democrat Senators. They will remember Democrat Obama against Republicans.
Worked for FDR, Truman and the Jews.
“Worked for FDR, Truman and the Jews.”
I don’t see any proof of that.
History is proof of that.
Pretty vague on the Jews Laurel.
Do your homework in the area of political science and connect the dots and think.
FDR won WWII and freed the camps along with Truman. Eleanor and Truman pushed for the formation of Israel. Who was the first president to recognize Israel as country?
Another suggestion is to read Norman Podhoretz book about why the Jews vote Democrat.
The information is out there.
Correction Laurel, do your history. FDR did not win any war, our military, including members of my family won WWII. FDR turned the Jews away from the United States, ignored the information coming in about the Nazi concentration camps and millions died because he did nothing.
You know I know your need to be right at all costs but FDR is credited with winning the war since he was president for 99% of it as CINC. Yes your family is too…and guess what…MINE TOO! Want my entire family history? He didn’t ignore the concentration camps…he had to get to them! They were after all deep into German territory protected by a huge German army that was toppling countries at the time. Knowing and doing are two different things. It wasn’t until right before we liberated those camps that we had hard evidence of the existence of them. We didn’t have satellites in the sky telling us everything like we do now.
Yes he did turn away some ships of Jews but the Jews tend to forget that part.
Your steadfast need to be right at all costs and your ideology is blinding you. You sound like a progressive claiming Jimmy Carter toppled communism and won the cold war. FDR did enough wrong that we don’t need to invent things and it is less than honest to not give credit where it is due. And on that note don’t forget to give credit to the generals such as Eisenhower and Patton.
Obama wants to Islamize America and turn it into a Sharia fascist hell-hole.
Well the communist aspect of it fits in with his worldview.
And it appears that Rubio voted YES for John Kerry as Secretary of State… which is very disappointing. Rand Paul too! I think they are both political players and may be more driven by personal ambition than conservative convictions.
Ted Cruz had the courage of his convictions to vote NO… I am watching that man!
My thoughts exactly, capelady. If Rubio and Paul will vote for a treasonous traitor like John Kerry they have no conservative principles whatsoever. I retract everything I have ever said positively about these two liars and will refrain from doing so in the future. Cruz has just got there and has shown he has the guts to stand up and be counted rather than bend over and please the masters.
Absolutely. Rubio talked to Rush about the hard work of “getting the language right.” Well, what’s wrong with the language in the Constitution? If Obama flouts that, and the Court sided with him against Arizona, can’t Rubio see he’s being sold a pig in a poke? With generals like that, we’re better off surrendering.
Obama has flouted the Constitution from the beginning – even as a candidate.
He is not qualified to be POTUS as the (alleged) biological and adoptive son of foreign nationals.
Agreed. Any discussion on immigration should clarify who exactly the governed have Constitutionally consented to be eligible for the Presidency. It seems completely obvious to me that they wanted someone raised from birth by two citizen parents, a “natural born citizen,” so that his loyalty would be to the US. Geography is obviously less important than the ideas of the parents, especially the father. Obama’s loyalty is clearly elsewhere directly because of his father, no matter where he happened to be born. If Rubio wanted to be selfless, he’d renounce his own eligibility, and that of all the illegals he seeks to make citizens, in deference to the consent of the governed.
These guys get so wrapped up in the ‘politics’ they forget their own name.
memo to Rubio – too many critters want immigration chaos. Nothing changed since 1986, except that they have more power than in 1986.
Memo to you – Rubio knows that. He spent years in a Senate that won’t even let him bring anything to vote. He is changing the narrative. He is proactively offering a common sense solution so that when it all goes to hell he can point at the Dems and say that they don’t care about real solutions.
I understand that we are all enormously skeptical and have been burned over and over but we have to be careful about how we talk about it. If we get overly negative and suspicious we damage ourselves. It always a good idea to propose and fight for good ideas even if they aren’t going to happen because you can always change some minds in the process.
I think Marco Rubio could beat Obama or Hillary in 2016, maybe in a landslide.
Marco Rubio is Bush#3.
HA!! And right behind him is #4, George P. Bush son of Jeb.
Bush is running circles around McCain and Romney, lol.
Congratulations you bought the Bush mafia’s BS!
I guess me and Rush Limbough.
Running as a Democrat
So Rush L. is a democrat ?
I was replying to: “I think Marco Rubio could beat Obama or Hillary in 2016, maybe in a landslide.”
I know, of course Rubio as the republican nominee. I thought that was understood.
Rubio, not Limbaugh, on the democrat ticket
My point is that if he runs it needs to be on the Dems ticket.
Rush does not thinks so, that is my point. Rubio running as dem a silly thing to consider.
What is it about Rubio that makes movement conservatives swoon with such adoration?
Look around. Rubio is the brightest star on the conservative side. I know that some think he is not conservative enough, but compared to illitest progressives who have lied and deceived their way into position to destroy our country, he is at least a step in the right direction. The communist party openly supported Obama for the same reason he is wanting immigration….power over the masses. It is a movement that has been in our country for decades and now a formidable force to destroy us from within. They democrats are now the communist party and anyone whos says different is a fool. They own the souls of the mainstream media and in turn a large enough percentage of the voters to be a conquering force. Ariel Durant said,”A great civilization cannot be conquered from without until it destroys itself from within.” You are watching a pot smoking street punk from a madrassa indocrinated youth do just that.
It’s not that he’s not conservative enough, it’s that he’s not really a conservative at all. He is smart and savvy enough to try and sound like a conservative. He cozies up to the TEA Party to propel his career forward. He has always wanted his own DREAM act, you just had to dig around to find out this information.
Now he has his sights on the WH and feels comfortable after the election defeat, to baby walk his amnesty plan more into the light.
I don’t think so and I will continue to expose who he really is. Remember many people fell in love with Chris Christie only to find out what a true RINO he really is.
Besides, from what I’ve been reading, he isn’t a natural born citizen either.
Neither was/is Obama.
Yes, Connip, that’s what annoys me. They’ll use that argument to push another candidate…
I don’t trust Rubio just like I didn’t trust Condi or Colin when they were our minorities du jour. If we’re looking for the best person to lead our party let’s do it on the basis of values and adherence to the Constitution and conservative principles and not skin color. Rubio has not proven to me that he’s the real deal. Sarah Palin is the real deal.
LOL! That’s a good one.
I’m hesitant about him because he hangs with RINO McCain – same as I didn’t like Paul Ryan hanging with Cantor and McCarthey. The establisment must go – they do NOTHING to help.
I whole heartedly agree on the commie media!
There is nothing conservative about Jeb Bush’s lap dog Rubio who sold his soul for access to Barbara Bush’s rolodex. Rubio is the poster child for Bannon and Schweizer’s “Boomtown.”
The south Florida Cuban community is fed up with Rubio. Rubio and Jebbie lost plenty of south Florida Cuban votes for Etch-a-sketch. Check out the numbers from the last election. That is the REAL news regarding the Hispanic vote not the propaganda the corrupt Bush machine is pushing.
The Bush crime family is toast. The Age of Bush is O.V.E.R.
Rubio is a stalking horse to split the conservative vote and give the nomination to Jebbie.
We won’t be fooled again. We aren’t voting for Jebbie or listening to his lap dog Rubio.
Rush constantly plays sound bites of orchestrated agenda of the left. What we are witnessing here is an orchestrated propaganda of the Bush crime family on all supposedly conservative media and sites to shove this sellout Rubio down our throats.
I’m fed up with this career opportunist Marco freakin Rubio and the Bush horse he rode in on.
Time for this imposter to get a REAL job. We don’t need any more career politicians.
Marco you’ve been dethroned for Cruz. Leave the stage now.
Absolutely priceless closing line: “Marco you’ve been dethroned for Cruz. Leave the stage now.”
Ted Cruz has been very clear, illegals are not citizens. Great quote from article: “While many have been praising Rubio of late for his immigration ideas, no one expected Rubio to blind-side them all and jump on board Senator John McCain’s amnesty bandwagon, and this measure is not likely to win Rubio any praise among conservatives.” http://shark-tank.net/2013/01/28/sen-ted-cruz-oppose-rubios-immigration-proposal/?replytocom=129029
Thxs for sharing Orangeone!
Thank you kindly. And here is Senator Mike Lee’s position statement that Sen Cruz refers to in the above link. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?402814-Statement-from-Sen-Mike-Lee-on-immigration-proposals
If Obama loves illegals so much I wonder how he explains Fast & Furious where at least 200+ Mexicans were killed because of Holder and Obama’s stupid plan to smuggle guns into Mexico. I wonder what Hispanics think about that!
Just bumps in the road on the way to small arms treaty. They were necessary for that agenda… now the ones who are still alive are so because they’re needed for his amnesty/dem voter agenda.
But you knew that already 😉
I don’t think they care. Univision stopped questioning when the chick was given an important position. Speaking of Fast and Furious, have you seen this? Contempt hearing was next week, now postponed to “make a deal” . Again, nothing will see the light of day, the court records would be public! http://www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2013/01/house-holder-may-near-deal-on-fast-and-furious-contempt-155525.html
The Law is for the little people…for little taxpayers, but not little illegals and not those who draw benefits for a living.
I don’t think they care. Univision stopped questioning when the chick was given an important position. Speaking of Fast and Furious, have you seen this? You are right, Orangeone! The Republicans have no backbone. Just scared little weasals.
If we amnestize 12 MILLION illegals, it will turn TEXAS into a Blue State.
NO to AMNESTY.
And that’s exactly what Barky has promised to do! TX will lock and load and deal with the illegals.
Thanks Orangeone! We need to secure the border – there is more than Mexican’s there!
On that one day in April, according to records obtained by ABC 15, Homeland Security officials were holding inmates from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, and the Sudan

Thank you for the link! Scoopers on Twitter and FaceBook, we need to make this story BS61 provided to us go viral!
Because there’s never going to be another white POTUS. Let’s just realize that fact and start running our own party superstars.
I never thought I would say this but that is one he!! of a racist statement.
No, it’s not racist, it’s the truth. I wish we didn’t live in a country full of people who only look at skin color, but we do. We have to start playing by those rules. We have to nominate Rubio or Cruz.
I wish we could nominate only on merits, but we can’t. In order to accomplish what we need to accomplish in America, we must start playing the race card.
No we don’t. Why is everyone deciding we have to play the same game as the left? We already have a party based on progressive, Marxist ideas. We don’t need another one.
Not the same worldview, but the same political strategies. Obviously our strategies aren’t working anymore. What’s wrong with coalition politics?
A coalition based on what? Identity politics? That’s the left’s game. Our strategies don’t work anymore for a myriad of reasons but nominating someone simply because of the color of their skin won’t work any better than nominating someone because it’s ‘their turn’. The attention needs to turn away from DC and to the local/state level where we make the policies of small government real. DC can’t solve this issue and turning all the attention to who the (R) 2016 nominee will be just perpetuates the illusion that it will. We have 2014 elections and everyone has local/state elections to start getting involved in.
Coalition politics refers to creating a voting coalition of many different ideas, like OFA did. Everything they did and said had something to do with their coalition.
Identity politics is different. We just need a Hispanic nominee to turn enough Hispanics our direction and to turn out the Cuban-Americans, which Romney failed to do.
I agree that we do need to return to the state and local level, but the ends justify the means in this situation. Rubio or Cruz is a means to an end.
That’s identity politics… We’ve had two black nominees for President (maybe more, my memory might not be that great) but they didn’t help pick up any black votes. Nominating someone who’s hispanic won’t pick up hispanic votes.
I also disagree that the ends justify the means – that’s a rule I don’t live by. It backfires because it’s dishonest.
Alan Keyes hardly counts. Herman Cain was mistreated by the Republican Establishment.
I don’t see how a Hispanic nominee wouldn’t help pick up votes, or at least turnout Hispanic conservatives who didn’t like Romney.
Not sure why Alan Keyes doesn’t count… We nominated Sarah Palin as VP in 2008 and had Michelle Backmann as a potential nominee in 2012 – neither did anything to ‘bring in the female’ vote. Yet, a Hispanic will be different. Can’t argue with that logic…
Perhaps I’m approaching coalition politics from the wrong angle. That’s my fault.
The purpose of coalition politics is to find a reason to love to vote for your party’s nominee. None of this hold your nose and vote business, because there are no perfect candidates. One of the main reasons to find a reason to love your nominee is because you are united against the opposition, whose ideas you hate.
So what reason can you find to like Rubio or Cruz?
Herman Cain was attacked by the MSM and some devious women.
And the Republican Establishment before the fake scandal.
I’ll have to answer your question from below here – looks like we’ve hit the max on replies. Re: Rubio? I don’t like him and try as I might, I can’t find a reason to like him. I do like Cruz, but he’s currently one of the few adults in the Senate and perhaps we should let him do his job. No one was clamoring for Reagan to be President when he was beginning his Governorship of California. If Cruz is eligible and wants to – he can throw his hat in the ring in 2015. At that point, I’ll judge him by his merits & not his race. I don’t like being judged one way or the other by my race – I apply the same standard to those around me.
Okay, fair enough.
There isn’t a way to reply to your post below so I will here. “We nominated Sarah Palin as VP in 2008 and had Michelle (sp) Backmann (sp) as a potential nominee in 2012 – neither did anything to ‘bring in the female’ vote.” That is untrue on both levels. Both Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann campaigned to represent ALL Americans, not people based on class, race, and gender and that is the best way possible to bring in all votes.
… which is what I’m advocating in my discussion with BeyondPolls. I’m not sure that’s it ‘untrue’ on both levels. We lost in 2008 in spite of Palin on the ticket and Michelle Bachmann (sorry for the mispell) didn’t get the nomination in 2012. If nominating a female was so important to get the female vote, those two would’ve made a difference. They didn’t. McCain was/is a tool & progressive and having Palin on the ticket didn’t bring in enough to counter that. While I liked Bachmann, obviously enough people didn’t because she didn’t get the nomination. Having any crossover votes centered on a gender or race hasn’t & won’t work.
Disqus doesn’t seem to want to let replies happen in the right spot. I never said I didn’t like Bachmann or Palin – in any of my posts. I said we don’t play the left’s game and nominate someone simply based on their gender or race. Palin has done wonderful things with helping the grass roots candidates off the ground. Bachmann is dead on in her assessment of CAIR and Islamic radicals in our government. I admire them greatly, but we nominate one of them on the basis that women will now vote (R) it will backfire. If we nominate Rubio or Cruz or another Hispanic thinking it will get us the Hispanic vote it will backfire. It’s exactly the opposite of what Bachmann & Palin do in their appeal to everyone.
Amy, there still isn’t room below so I’ll reply here. Both Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann did a lot of work energizing the Republican party. Sad for us, McShame was the top of the 2008 ticket against a half black/half white man and the MSM was all over that plus the MSM is biased as we well know.
I’m very sensitive when it comes to Michele Bachmann, so I apologize for that. I live about 30 minutes from her, have met her and I must say would love to be living in her district but MN overall sucks. She has expanded outreach into the other MN districts because our concerns are not being heard by our own Reps. Please also know, and it was not nationally discussed, she had a nasty-arse Dem male chewing on her daily, spewing lies about her, her family and her record and the MSM outright admitted his TV ads received “F” for falsehood but still aired them. She had also been re-districted to include a chuck of Dem. She won her district again and also spent time helping Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan (met her again at the Ryan rally).
I’ll let others respond about Sarah Palin. I think she is amazing and look forward to her finding more Ted Cruz’s around the nation for the 2014 Senate and House elections!
Saw your comment on Disgus. I’m having a problem with my replies going through as well. Saw your reply mentioning your conversation, I had replied to you well before that chain but they are not posting timely or it looks like in the correct location.
There are many qualified white individuals including white women.
I wish Palin would run too.
Shorter Beyond Polls: Let’s trot out our own Obama. Thanks but no.
If you wanna win in 2016, then that’s exactly what I’m saying. Conservatives need to find a candidate who’s going to turn out the base like Obama did for the liberals in their darkest hour. Rubio or Cruz is the answer.
I’m mostly trying to curb this Rand Paul movement before it starts. He’s bad news.
Have you heard of Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, Mia Love, Allen West, Sarah Palin? Do you not remember what they did to that Hispanic judge who was up for confirmation? (His name escapes me now).
Do you think the Left will let their ownership of identity politics go without a fight? I think its naive to think if we run a conservative Obama we would win.
We have to be able to say Republicans elected the first Hispanic POTUS. We can repeat that mantra as often as the liberals repeat the first black POTUS mantra.
Republicans ended slavery too. You are assuming if we do X, then Y will happen. In politics, especially when the Left control the media, it never goes according to plan.
I’d prefer it if the Republicans can say “We elected the First female President” – who also happens to be a staunch conservative, and not the lapdog of the GOPe, nor the Bushes, nor the corrupt political class in D.C.
I hope I don’t have to say here who that is.
I wish Palin would run too, but she seems to be retreating from structure these days.
What she can do first is run against Mark Begich in 2014.
To paraphrase Joe Biden, “I mean, you got the first mainstream [Hispanic]-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,”
Rubio is a puppet of Jeb Bush. He got Tea Party support, not necessarily because he was Conservative, but because he wasn’t Charlie Crist. He did everything he could to avoid appearing with Sarah Palin because he didn’t want to upset the Bush family.
The GOPe is doing their best to push a Bush/Rubio ticket on us for 2016. Write it down. Hey, and don’t forget, he’s got a “misuse of party funds” scandal that the Dems and the media will hammer him on as soon as it looks like he may be on the 2016 ticket.
Wow, didn’t know that about Rubio…..
Bingo… Getting rid of/stopping Crist was my reason. And Yes, Rubio is being pushed by the R leadership as is Jeb. It all stinks big time. But, apparently the Crist, Christie, Romney, Rubio, and Bush R crowd are easily fooled.
He’s young, well spoken, just became a U.S. senator, after serving in state congress, … you know like someone else we know. However, no matter what he says and how prettyfully he may sound, it’s not going to matter at all because media will not report the facts and they will continue to cultivate the low information voters with whatever slogans Obama’s going to provid for them.
That’s why we need to take down the democratic media complex – as Breitbart said at a Tea Party – they’re a bunch of totalitarian freaks!
What is a “movement conservative”? I’m a traditionalist conservative, and I can guarantee you I am NOT swooning over Rubio. I agree with sDee, Rubio is another Bush. Moreover, I’ve just about had it with Rush. He stated flat out, about a year ago on his program that Rubio would be president someday. How would he know this? Does he have a crystal ball? or is he part of the effort to make it happen?
Krauthammer has it right, reminding us that Reagan considered his ’86 amnesty the worst mistake of his presidency — yet Rubio, the imbecile McCain, and his flunky Flake, are eager to make the same mistake. The Republican Party — apart from men like Sen. Sessions — sees its survival in moving leftward, and in so doing is making itself irrelevant, redundant, and an object of scorn.
You’ll get no swooning from me only a hard cold look at actions and accomplishments and whoever measures up gets my nod.
With all due respect to Mr Rubio, I know of NO Mexican immigrants streaming over the border who are opening small businesses and worried about their taxes! Who the heck is HE talking to??
I wondered that myself.
I know illegals who have started their own businesses and worked their whole lives. Then again I only hang out with illegals who also regularly attend church.
Aiding and abetting is also a crime, just sayin’
I don’t think knowing someone is “aiding and abetting.” Just sayin.
If you are aware they are in our country, which is an illegal act daily, then yes it is. And with many law, the one who aides and abets receives the same criminal sentence.
Whether or not you think it should be illegal, it’s not atm. Do your research.
Actually I did, you might want to do your own. I suggest you utilize Lexis/Nexis
Show me the law or anyone who has been convicted of failing to report an illegal. I’ll believe you then.
Spend the money for Lexis/Nexis and do your own research.
No thanks 🙂 If you’re going to make a claim like that it’s your responsibility to back it up with evidence. I can’t give you evidence for a law that doesn’t exist.
Typical liberal telling others to do the work while they sit back and take the money and run.
LOL what? You’re telling me to spend money because you don’t want to do the work to defend your own claim.
typical redistributor. I paid for my subscription, did my research, time for you to step up and do something yourself. Maybe one of your illegal alien friends has a free gov’t subscription you can use
If you are aware they are in our country, which is an illegal act daily, then yes it is. And with many law, the one who aides and abets receives the same criminal sentence.
Of the 13 million in the country illegally, how many of those own small businesses? That’s my question.
Of course the fact that they’re here illegally and are able to start a small business at all is disturbing enough!
How do you pull THAT off without breaking even MORE laws??? You need a social security number!
Idk what the percentages are but I think its wise to understand that there are different types of illegals and that it affects how we deal with the problem.
There is the dark side(which may even be the majority) in which illegals commit crimes and use government assistance they’ve never paid into. There is the lighter side where people come for the American dream and work to build themselves and their children a better life. I like Rubio’s plan because it separates them out. If your a criminal you’re out and you won’t get any access to government assistance. If you’re willing to work, you can stay as long as you pay a fee for coming here illegally.
The problem with granting citizenship after assessing a fee for coming here illegally is that it doesn’t discourage anyone else from coming here illegally. If you can pay a fee and then eventually be a citizen, why go through the immigration process?
I could support amnesty for those here now in the way of a work visa – if you can prove your self sufficient – but it should NEVER lead to a path of citizenship. The fee for coming here outside of the legal bounds is not being eligible for citizenship. It’s charitable compared to what other countries do, it takes away the vote pandering issue and it doesn’t give incentive to do things illegally. We also would be talking about a much smaller group of people if they had to be working and not receiving any social services.
Since the work visa option doesn’t garner votes for any politicians though, it’s pretty much a moot point…
Well with Rubio’s bill it would be a fee and an extended waiting period. I’m certainly open to more discussion about a different path to citizenship for illegals though I think it should be possible for them. I think it would discourage illegal immigration only if legal immigration became a better option. That means securing the borders and tracking visas like Rubio said while also streamlining legal immigration and rewarding it by providing a quicker path to citizenship than illegals.
That fee is less than I pay in federal taxes each week. That isn’t a fee, that is extortion and vote purchases.
I appreciate that too. And you’re absolutely right, it’s not easy when families are involved, but as Christians, surely we know more than anyone else, that actions have consequences.
I understand Christian persecution and I appreciate the need to flee 3rd world poverty, but that doesn’t give me the right to break laws either.
And I’ll admit that if it were my family, and I were desperate to flee a country of corruption and drug cartels, I’d have to consider jumping the border too, but this really comes down to the fact that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT has failed to do its job.
These people can’t get in because the Federal Government, who INSISTS on being the final word in these matters, refuses to do its job.
I don’t think I, as a legal tax paying citizen, should be PUNISHED or GUILTED for the Federal Government’s failures and the failures of a group of people who choose to break the law.
I didn’t break the law! yet I’m being asked to condone illegality when someone else does. I’m guilted into approving illegality by evil politicians who frankly, could really care less about these people anyway! THEY ONLY WANT THEIR VOTES!
So, as much as this is a big mess (thanks to politicians in the first place) and there are no easy answers, I stand on the side that has to make the TOUGH CHOICE. This needs to be taken care of and it needs to be taken care of in a LEGAL and ETHICAL manner. But amnesty isn’t it!
You’re spot on. The government has failed to do it’s job. It’s their irresponsibility that created this problem in the first place. But who decides who runs the federal government? Us the voters. Not the illegals, we the people do. (of course living in CA it was no one I voted for 🙂 ) We have the government that we deserve. I think it’s important to take ownership of that. I agree there are tough choices to be made and maybe amnesty or limited amnesty isn’t the solution but I really haven’t heard a better proposed plan than Rubio’s and certainly haven’t come up with a better one myself.
*Oh! I forgot. The one thing I would add is to tax the nations that allow their citizens to emigrate illegally unhindered. I think Mexico would get serious about securing their side of the border real fast 🙂
I think it’s naive to say that we run the federal government. We don’t! The political class runs the federal government.
And the people in Az did try to do something about the leaking sieve streaming over the border, but the Federal Government with the help of the court rejected it claiming it was their responsibility to enforce the laws at the border. OK. And what have they done since then? Nothing!
And be that as it may, that we deserve what we’ve got, we’ve still got a HUGE problem at the border and someone is not going to be happy. Why is it that legal US citizens have to be that somebody? Why not those who broke the law?
There are people coming from all over the Middle East and Europe fleeing brutal regimes to get to America legally for the same opportunities as Mexicans. Are we to tell them that they have to wait, because their country doesn’t border ours and that Mexicans who have come here illegally get precedence?
This is really just a big mess, and someone is going to get hurt no matter WHICH way you go, and I have a feeling it’s going to be the legal citizen as usual.
Well Rubio’s plan does put illegals at the back of the line for a greed card as it should. I think legal immigration should take no longer than 6 months (possibly less time) and that fixing the legal process is an integral part of the overall solution.
The only reason the political class runs our Federal government is because we let them. Living in California I see first hand how few people are engaged and informed. They don’t vote for good people and as a result we have this out of control problem. You’re right, it’s to the point where it will hurt no matter what, but don’t forget that doing nothing hurts just as much.
Well just short of revolution Washington isn’t going to change with votes.
Yeah. The 1st step is change as a people. Washington is a symptom of how we are. I’m trying to do my part but I’ve got to admit I’m not that hopeful that we’ll have the kind of revival we need to see real change. Its terrible because at 21 I’ve got my whole life and my future kids life ahead of me.
You’re 21. That explains everything. You’re just naïve.
“Well Rubio’s plan does put illegals at the back of the line for a greed card as it should.” that’s YOU. The back of the line?? How are you at the back of the line when you’re already here in America and the people at the front of the line are sitting in there home countries.
Let me simplify it for you. Those people in foreign countries waiting to come legally will get a green card before someone who came to America illegally. This puts the illegals behinds the legals in the greed card line. The green card line isn’t dependent on where you currently reside. Kapeesh?
In Fl. they are called lawn services. Hand to hand cash.
Now THAT I believe!
And I guarantee you that they do not have a Tax ID Number or a business listed with a Social Security Number. So, it would have to be an illegal business. So, now they’ve broken the law at the border AND again by not paying taxes on their earnings which is also illegal.
“Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”
And just out of curiosity, what do you suppose would happen to me if I did this, a legal US citizen?
They are stealing them or manufacturing them. We had 25,000 fictitious ones in a current legal case and 100% were registered Dem and all voted for Franken and Barky Boy! There is evidence that this is a criminal ring linked to MI and the one found on the perp that bombed the Israeli tourist bus
There are many more that are gang members. Insurance frauds. Drug dealers.
As far as your church…do they not teach that God says obey the law?? Shouldn’t they teach you that?
I heard a great quote,” If you find a sucker thump them on the head.” Your head hurts.
Sure. I think you ignore that fact that America has contributed hugely to the problem. The government we (not us specifically obviously) voted into place refuses to close the border, restrict assistance to illegals and has done very little to make legal immigration a more viable option. We have to take responsibility for what we’ve done to create the problem. I dislike when conservatives push one sided narratives that just hate on illegals.
You use liberal logic. You bring emotion into it now by using the word hate. Of course I hate illegals right? I mean if I think people who are not citizens are breaking the law while I will get punished with jail time for not paying a traffic ticket. Its not hate it is justice.
You use liberal tactics by picking out one word, making an unrelated point and completely ignoring my main point.
Unrelated point? You’ve been making excuses all day, why would I address your main point again?
” I dislike when conservatives push one sided narratives that just hate on illegals.” that’s YOU. My comment wasn’t unrelated as you can see. Again liberal logic. You’re a sucker. That’s whats wrong with the GOP. Too many suckers. You’re smart but wisdom evades you or you evade it. I don’t know which.
You have not addressed my point that American policy and irresponsibility has contributed hugely to this problem and we have to take responsibility for that. You refuse to admit this and instead want to point out how terrible illegals are. We need to address the problems created by both the illegals and our own government in order to solve the issue. That does not make me emotional, a liberal, or a sucker.
I know a ton of mexican immigrants who are opening small businesses and trying to live the American dream and some very successful. But then again I am down in San Antonio so the numbers may be the result of our proximity to Mexico.
I’m not saying that there aren’t, what I’m saying is out of that 13 million this is not the common story.
And how many are using federally funded small business loans to do it? More of our tax money rewarding people illegally in our country while legal Americans have to borrow from the bank
I guess another word ought to be made clear- are they legal immigrants or illegal aliens?
San Antonio is North Mexico City.
And even if they were (building businesses) how many more bodegas or burrito stands can we use? I live in Lubbock, TX and the crime that even the legal Hispanics commit far outweighs their contribution in any new tortilla shop they open.
I’m not going to touch that one. lol.
If Republicans want to reach Hispanics
…………………. learn to speak Spanish
THAT is Rubio’s advantage
If Hispanics want to be Americans, learn English. Rubio’s disadvantage is that he has forgotten how angry Americans were during the ’07 CIR debacle.
Bush W spoke spanish, don’t you remember ?
LOL… .how do you say ‘Nukular’ in spanish
Speaking a second language is not the same as immigrating to a new country and then refusing to learn the language of that country, nor expecting the people of that country to kindly learn the language of those who immigrated.
Btw – the Danes and the Dutch have made it a requirement for immigrants to learn Danish, or Dutch, within six months, or else.
I suggest English is a bit easier to learn than Danish or Dutch …
Sen Ted Cruz writes:
“To allow those who came here illegally to be placed on such a path is both inconsistent with rule of law and profoundly unfair to the millions of legal immigrants who waited years, if not decades, to come to America legally.”
There’s more here: Press Release of Senator Cruz
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz Statement on Immigration Reform Proposal
He gets it – Rubio not so much.
Sorry sis, didn’t see this when I posted an article citing Ted Cruz as well. Doesn’t he just say it all, they ARE NOT citizens!
Every legal immigrant, waiting and waiting, should be up in arms about this shamnesty. I know I would!
When I think about the hoops I had to jump through just to get a visum for a visit, it makes my blood boil to hear these proposals.
Also – the constant appeal to think of the human suffering is such a well-used ploy by the left that conservatives don’t even notice they’re using socialist arguments any longer.
If it’s any consolation, it’s the same over here.
They don’t give a rip in he!! about the suffering of legal American taxpayers that cannot support their families because of taxes, cannot pay for college for their children because of taxes, cannot afford braces for their children because of taxes. And I’ll stop now 🙂
Where is “over here”? if I may ask.
It’s the UK, formerly know as Great Britain …
I understand Rubio has been sent out to put Obama in Check – to diffuse the demagoguery of the Right. None the less I am tired of the deception. Of the games. Elephants always lose this game because the media defines the narrative. Sessions has it right – full frontal assault – let’s get this over with.
The truth is Barack Hussein Obama and the entire Democratic party machine is dead set on completely undermining the solvency, stability and Constitution of the United States. Amnesty for 12 million illegals will accomplish that and bring them enough votes to permanently stay in power. That is what is at stake yet the Party will not stand and say so.
Rush hit the nail on the head. Our government is bringing in immigrants who want free stuff. I want to hear Rubio explain to America that it is the 1965 Immigration Act and its Diversity Quotas that has been used to import subversives for nearly 50 years.
I will maintain great suspicion of Marco Rubio until he has the courage to state his position on Article 2, Section 1 of the United States Constitution (aka the dirty little secret of a corrupt government no one will dare talk about).
Equally as good as having Rubio state it would be to hear it from Rush, daily, for about a month!
And Mark Levin, too.
A litmus test for a pundit – inside or outside the political class”
“What is a natural born citizen and why did the Founders apply it only to eligibility for the Office of President”?
The reaction alone is very telling.
“Tough situation”, “trying to do my best” – I’m sorry, all that was lacking were soft violins playing in the background.
I stand with Sen Ted Cruz.
Me too! Come on over and bring those house wolves with you. I have plenty of room and the housewolves will love the snow 🙂
There’s snow in Texas???
In MN now, looking at WI first (20 minutes) and TX second (but that is a much tougher move for me with a business but will have lots of air conditioning)!
Come on over! (Although we’ve seriously talked about retiring someday in Texas!!)
I’m house-hunting! Maybe we could be snowbird neighbors too 🙂
I’m house-hunting! Maybe we could be snowbird neighbors too 🙂
Rubio stated in the interview that there is no bill written and it may not happen. He did not sound at all confident that this will ever happen.
We have a long way to go. So Im glad this isnt the “done deal” I had read it was.
Im with Cruz on this right now, but Rubio is getting all the attention and hype. But look at the team Rubio signed on with, McCain, Schummer, Graham, Menendez, Durbin, what a joke.
Let Rubio get this press and deflect the press and Demorats while Ted Cruz continues to protect our 2nd Amendment and full Constitution. I stand with Ted Cruz on his positions.
That ‘team’ should make everybody deeply suspicious about what is really going on here.
It should make everybody take a deep breath, step back, and question Rubio until he cries, on air or TV.
I thought he got softballs from Levin and Limbaugh.
Yes, I agree – they both were treating him with kid gloves, throwing cotton wool balls at him. I’m still a bit shocked by that Mark Levin interview with Rubio.
Talk about short term memory loss. I forgot about the rest of the team. I knew McCain as a disaster waiting to happen but it looks like the whole bunch is a disaster.
This means to me no matter how good Rubio’s intentions may or may not be this cannot turn out well for Republicans or immigration reform. Maybe I should go delete my first remarks. I’m tired….Okay!
Any Republican Senator who teams up with Menendez should automatically be suspect. There are limits!
I respect Rubio for coming out with a reasonable plan. The dems have controlled the narrative on immigration for a long time and the Republicans have done a terrible job with their own message. I think this is his effort to be proactive and to establish a narrative that Republicans aren’t anti-hispanic and aren’t anti-immigrant. I’m sure that the typical political games will start and they will stuff all sorts of crap in this bill. But I think its a brilliant move on Rubio’s part. He will be able to point to how the dems use this issue as a political football and how they don’t actually care to vote for a common sense solution to the problem. Many of you are telling Rubio to “wake up” and realize that this is never going to happen. He knows that! He’s spent years in a Senate that won’t even let him bring anything to vote. This is about establishing a narrative and exposing the dems. Yall should stop hating on him and support his move. Take back the narrative.
How many years, exactly, has Rubio spent in the US Senate? Having been elected in 2010, I’d say about two years. “He’s spent years in a Senate . . . ” is misleading. Now, John McCain has spent “years in [the] Senate,” 25 and counting, unfortunately.
This seems petty. A couple years. 2 years. years. Say it however you like. I assume most Right Scoop leaders are aware of how long Rubio has been in the senate. Let’s focus in the actual issues please. Thanks 🙂
You are cheerleading for Rubio, calling his plan “brilliant,” writing about how much you “respect” him for it, and implying that he has more experience than he does in the US Senate. I’m pointing out to you that it weakens your argument — and your position — when you play fast and loose with the facts; the fact is that Rubio is little more than a rookie senator.
Consider it grandmotherly advice.
Pray tell what facts have I played fast and loose with? That really seems a stretch if its based off of me saying “years” instead of a couple years. If I’ve been wrong about one please tell me. I wouldn’t want to do yall the disservice of misinformation. I haven’t implied anything. Of course he’s a young 1st term Senator. Are my arguments back at full strength know that I’ve affirmed what the vast majority of this audience already knows? I would prefer if we’d discuss the merits of the bill and what it does (or doesn’t do) for the right’s narrative.
Here is another website that addresses the immigration issue which I offer because of your obvious interest in the subject: http://www.aicfoundation.com/booklets.htm; the booklets by Auster and Vinson look particularly informative. I’ve just come across these today and thought I’d share them with you, and buy some for myself, actually.
Thanks for the link!
Let’s focus on the issue that Rubio is Jeb Bush’s lap dog.
America is fed up with everything Bush.
America is also fed up with career politicians. It’s time for Rubio to get a real job and get off the government dole. He is the poster child for Bannon and Schweizer’s “Boomtown.”
The founders did not intend corrupt career politicians. Rubio sold out for access to Barbara Bush’s rolodex.
“This is about establishing a narrative and exposing the dems. “
Likely the case that he was drawing out King Hussein. Perhaps well intentioned. Perhaps not. it remains still, deception. The problem is, that no matter if Rubio wins or loses his game, the State Media controls the narrative. Always has been. Always will be.
Millions of us are longer in denial that we are under a lawless government and a complicit Congress. This is going to collapse.
This kabuki theater Rubio is playing out, is all about who in the political class will get the spoils as America is being gutted from within.
(btw, Not trusting politicians like Rubio who talk the talk but have delivered on absolutely nothing, is not hate. It is pragmatism)
Of course Rubio can’t deliver on anything. The leadership hasn’t let him even bring anything to vote. All he can do is try and strengthen the conservative narrative. Something he is great at doing.
LOL! He is great at talking just like Obama. He is the Obama on the gopE side of the aisle. All talk and no action and a legend in his own mind.
I’d say it’s more realism than pragmatism, though your other points are sterling.
“This kabuki theater Rubio is playing out, is all about who in the political class will get the spoils as America is being gutted from within.”
I couldn’t agree with you more. And did you see Andrew McCarthy’s scathing assessment of Rubio’s plan over at pjmedia? It’s a keeper!
Want him, you can have him. We Floridians have organized to dump him. The Age of Bush is O.V.E.R.
the only positive information i gleaned is that Rubio is attempting to be ahead of the information curve. libtards have a bad habit of defining the argument
Going to throw in a wrench—Romney proposed a fence and a picture ID for entering and already here, and a prediction for self-deportation for those who didn’t get the ID. If we had these simple things in place (had he been elected), it probably would be happening just that way.
We can still do these things. Then add releasing the ICE to do their job, and big changes would follow.
Romney on Immigration:
“High-tech fence for 2,000 miles on Mexican border:
…in the 2012 primary the former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney promoted the idea of a high-tech fence stretching the entire length of the US-Mexico border, nearly 2,000 miles long.
Source: The Rise of Marco Rubio, by Manuel Rogi-Franzia, p.221 , Jun 19, 2012
Enforce employment laws; illegal immigrants will self-deport:
ROMNEY: ‘Those who come into the country legally would be given an identification card, and if employers hire someone without a card, then those employers would be severely sanctioned. If you do that, people who have come here illegally won’t be able to find work. And over time, those people would tend to leave the country, or self-deport. I don’t think anyone is interested in going around and rounding up people around the country and deporting 11 million illegal immigrants into America. Let’s focus our attention on how to make legal immigration work and stop illegal immigration.’
Source: CNN 2012 GOP primary debate on the eve of Florida primary , Jan 26, 2012.”
Romney had some simple ideas, that if he had been elected, would be providing far better solutions that we see being offered today on immigration.
What good were his ideas if they were a secret from the information deprived. He had the National stage and used it to give the same message Obama was giving. Jobs. With the exception of conservatives on the internet and radio no one who voted for Obama knew anything about what he had done or was planning to do from Romney. Any of Romney’s ideas as far as I know would have been better for the country than any of Obama’s but what use is that if the low information voters don’t know about it. There’s no defense for a poor offense.
This is very true. There were many good ideas with very little public access. Romney’s offense was far too weak. It seems today the offense is getting stronger finally-pushing back on a lot of fronts. I hope it increases from here.
Whatever I wrote the first time is gone as it should be.
These Republicans are so naïve and easily maneuvered. They are doing this to get ahead of the situation and be able to claim they worked hand in hand for the Hispanic community. Problem is is that once amnesty is approved the media will never mention Rubio or any of the other Republicowards again. They’ll say the Dems drug the GOP kicking and screaming. They’ll say Democrats pushed the idea. They’ll say THEY had to push this legislation and on and on.
You Republicans are such fools. The Democrats used you up again. The Media will slap you on the a$$ and say good game.
Yes, as usual the Left is Bobby Fisher playing 25 tables, and Republicans are in Mayberry RFD at Floyd’s Barbershop playing checkers with bottlecaps.
I think it would be a curious statistic to find out how many illegal immigrants are prepared to renounce their citizenship in their home country to become a US Citizen. That is, no dual citizenship, but an actual change over to the US. I would be willing to bet that there wouldn’t be as many as these bleeding heart libs would have you believe.
Don’t think so? Remember the soccer game in LA where the US was playing Mexico and the US team was booed and had things thrown at them? Ask the guy hanging drywall or painting in a new office tenant improvement what his plan is? Many are working and sending their money home.
Either way, the point is that these folks aren’t here for love of the US. They aren’t here to vote conservative. If given the chance to have voting rights (and many find ways to vote anyway), a large chunk wouldn’t exercise their right to vote–and those that do, vote Democrat. Why? It’s their fastest path to freebies and benefits. They don’t care about our economic stability. They aren’t concerned with our debt. None of this is their concern. They aren’t concerned about social issues like abortion or gay marriage…nope…not even a flinch. They only want access to money, period.
I just cannot bring myself to listen to rubio on this after the dream act stuff he’s pushed before.
he’s burned his bridges with me.
yeah between him and christ he is was better….slightly.
but I have never gotten everyones love affair with him.
it seems to me way to many are smitten by him DUE to his ancestry.
and I cannot nor will not support that.
Go get ’em Liz. I’d like to recommend vdare to Charity, who might profit from another perspective on this issue.
Thanks! I liked the post. It certainly makes valid points across the board. I totally expect the dems and maybe some republicans to pump loopholes and other crap into the bill. I think in it’s pure form Rubio’s bill is a great idea. And I think that’s the point. It’s about the idea and his ability to say “look I proposed a common sense solution but the slimy politicians didn’t care to get real about it.” Everything Sessions said was true but what he failed to do was present a good plan that Americans can get behind. I think Rubio is trying to stay one step ahead of the progressives by taking charge of the narrative and I love that.
Rubio certainly isn’t proposing blanket amnesty and is supporting cutting off any assistance for all illegals that continues even if they do get a green card. At this point its going to cost us to deal with this problem because we have let it get so out of control. Doing nothing costs us trillions as well.
After Obama speaks in Vegas, nothing else will matter. Trust me.
Do you know how many Hispanics got behind Reagan when he signed amnesty into law back in the 80’s?
zero, or at least next to zero.
They STILL voted for the Democrats!
In other words, there is no FORM of this where we win. It just isn’t going to happen.
We are fooling ourselves if we believe that it is. I don’t care how great Rubio’s bill is, he is not going to get it passed Reid or Obama JUST SHORT OF blackmailing them with pictures having affairs at a local motel!
Rubio will become background noise in all of this. Watch.
Did you watch Krauthammer’s remarks, also posted here on TRS?
He states that Rubio’s plan is indeed essentially amnesty.
Sen. Sessions plan is to enforce our laws as they are. The problem we have exists because our immigration laws are not enforced, because we have sanctuary cities, because we have magnets that bring in illegals in the way of freebies handed out by states which act in collusion with business interests demanding cheap labor and politicians clamoring for votes. And let’s not forget the pressure exerted by globalists, behind the scenes, to erase borders altogether, sold through postmodernism which declares that one culture is just as good as any other, and which shrilly proclaims that people who want to perpetuate and protect their own culture are idiot xenophobes.
Deportation works. If you think it’s cruel, then you should be on the front lines of those demanding that we secure the border, stop the magnets, and enforce our laws. We must end a situation that hurts the American tax-payer, our own under-class — who have been reduced to dependency because they can’t find work nor compete with illegals for jobs — and tempts people to break our laws, resulting finally in the sob-stories their deportation will ensure.
And you betcha, like Ike, I would deport illegals.
I did and I was disappointed because I usually agree with what my man Charles has to say. He said that the minute the bill is signed its instant legalization because the government isn’t going to pay attention to the provisions. I don’t care about speculation of what laws the government will or won’t enforce. I don’t have control over that. Rubio doesn’t have control over that. His job is to make sure he proposes good legislation that becomes good law. You could debunk any bill with that logic. “Oh well we could pass a bill that requires the fed to increase the man power at the border but they won’t actually enforce it so its bad legislation.” Krauthammer should make comments on the bill according to its own inherent merits. If he wants to bash the Obama administration for not enforcing laws on the books that’s fine. Don’t direct it at Rubio’s bill though, that’s not fair.
I support deportation in most cases but realistically we cannot deport 11 million people. It would be a scary thing to give the feds that kind of power. I think Rubio’s solution addresses the problem as whole and would actually end up with more criminals being deported.
President Eisenhower, in Operation Wetback, exercised such power in defense of national sovereignty, the rule of law, American jobs for Americans, and national security, among other reasons.
Self-deportation will cull the numbers automatically — and dramatically — when our laws are enforced, the magnets eliminated, and employers are prosecuted.
Absolutely. Rubio’s bill does those things. If it’s enforced in it’s entirety of course.
Jeff Sessions warns of amnesty’s trillion dollar cost linked below
Obama has already drawn his line in the sand; no more border security. In my mind the bill is dead before it lives.
You can’t negotiate with terrorists…. or their liberal friends.
I know this is going to be too far down the page to garner awareness, but I will post it anyway.
Mr. Rubio has been making the rounds of the “conservative” Big Three. I have heard Mr. Rubo’s interviews on all three programs. Not one of them said, point blank, “If you really think that the Democ-rats, or Obamao, is going to do anything to secure our borders, you really need to get out of politics, because they have you totally snowed.”
Two of them, Hannity and Rush, have been carrying water for the GOP for longer than anyone cares to remember. Although they both proclaim, loudly and often, that they are “conservatives first,” it doesn’t take much listening to comprehend that they are “Republicans first.”
At no time have either of these stalwarts said the GOP is a dead issue. They always refer to the GOP as “we,” and they never mention the TEA Party, or any other grassroots organization, in any way other than in passing. The very fact of a possible “third” Party, even of constitutional conservatives, causes them to wet their pants publicly. They cringe right on the air where everyone can see (hear).
Hannity totally fawns over the GOP establishment mouthpieces, such as Karl The Crapitect Rove, and calls them all his “friends.” He may ask one tough question, but never challenges the answer.
Rush, Hannity, and yes, even Mark Levin, are great at stating the obvious, but never take the dangerous step of offering an “out of the box” solution to the problems. And, as with Mr. Rubio, they never challenge his position to the point of showing him to be the fraud and “politician” that he is.
They are always entertaining, and with the exception of Hannity, they are often informative. But that is the extent of it. As it now stands, they are as much part and parcel of the establishment, and the Ministry of Propaganda, as Fox News or CNN.
It is time We The People awakened from the mesmeric sound of their voices and realized that they are not offering any solutions to the problems.
But they are certainly making fortunes, by making fools of us.
Throw them all out! The status quo must go!
Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.

KittyAmerica … I appreciate the kind words.
It is well past time that We The People wake up and smell the “show business” coffee.
Please see my reply to MissMyGuy below. I think it will be food for thought.
Throw these 3 out and we have no one left!
I agree on Hannity, he can go and would be missed for about 3 days.
Mark Levin claims to have a plan that he is working on and will need a few months to finish. Holding out a little bit of hope there, but not much since he has said this before.
Rush is more complicated. I think he has his ideology correct and I do believe he is conservative, but I think he has become so cynical the past 20 years, that he just sees it all as a big game and his passion waxes and wains.
MissMyGuy … Very interesting observations. Allow me to extrapolate on your points.
“Throw them all out,” in my signature line, does not refer to Hannity, Levin, or Rush.
It is the title of the book by Peter Schweitzer, and refers to the Congress of the U.S., and the fact that they are mired in “crony capitalism,” and have as much to do with freedom and our constitutional republic as committed socialists and Marxists.
“The status quo must go,” is a direct quote from Sarah Palin.
Sean Hannity is an “everyman,” and has shown himself to be very likeable, but not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. He has been, from the beginning, a protege of Mark Levin. In fact, it was rumored back in the late 1980s that Mr. Levin actually ghost-wrote his first book.
I, too, have heard this claim by Mr. Levin about having “a plan.” I was not aware that he had said this before. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to listen to Levin for as long as I have been listening to the other two.
Levin actually holds out the most promise in regard to actively doing something to change the status quo. He has been an actual “activist,” and the Landmark Legal Foundation, under his guidance, has gone to the wall in defense of the constitution.
I have been listening to Rush for 25 years. I do not believe he is cynical. I believe he has become a caricature of what he was at the beginning. He is living in a closed world, and is as far removed from We The People as the denizens of D.C.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Rush has become “gun shy.” In 2008 he adamantly proclaimed, day after day, during the presidential primaries, and after McCain secured the nomination, that “we were screwed.” No matter who won the presidency.
I believe that Rush felt somewhat responsible for McCain losing. Thus his refusal to rake Romney over the coals in 2012. Anybody But Obamao was never going to be a winning strategy, and there was nothing Rush could say that would convince any conservative that Romney was one of us.
But Rush held back, and pulled his punches. He did not subject Romney to the same scrutiny that he gave McCain.
It is way past time to kick the corrupt GOP, and the rest of the establishment, including the Ministry of Propaganda, on both sides, to the curb. To take our country back from the Political Ruling Class, it is going to take “sudden and relentless” reform. That has to include the “talking heads,” who are totally dependent upon the existing establishment for their living and survival.
Does that include the Big Three? Only if they continue to carry water for a dead Party that is part and parcel of a decayed and corrupt system. If they refuse to consider any solutions other than those already tried and failed, then they are part of the problem, and part of the ongoing propaganda machine.
As long as they do nothing but point out the obvious, refuse to get tough with people like Marco Rubio, and keep themselves tied to outdated and outmoded solutions, they are not doing anything but perpetuating themselves. And perpetuating the system which threatens to enslave us.
It is way past time for We The People to stop accepting people such as Rush, Sean, and Levin at face value. Although I am willing to be shown by Levin, I believe that Rush and Sean are not willing to do anything “dangerous” that will jeopardize their “position.”
Bravo, bravo, encore!
JRD1 … I assure you … there will be more … lol
The problem isn’t having a solution. The problem is PASSING THE SOLUTION!
Republicans (in general) are not like his highness Obama where they will ignore legal process and just pass a law. They couldn’t anyway!
The log jam is in the Senate with Reid and his highness Obama. It’s really that simple.
That’s like blaming the water for a stopped up drain! The water is doing what it’s supposed to do, it’s the clog that’s the problem! Remove the clog and you get water flow.
Same thing in government. That clog, Reid, is the problem.
What Sessions said, also? An administration that 3x’s defies Congressional oversight of DHS regarding ICE agents thwarting by Dept. head? Good thing the discussion is not over. Keep up the pressure. Get the Senators together against them.
Michelle Malkin is one who has not gone wobbly, thank goodness.
She will also never run for office. She is great, but most people dont even know who she is.
Most people don’t know who George Washington is! We have a country full of idiots!
She’s one of the very few rock-solid. on-point constitutionalists.
Close the borders (confirmed by citizens living on the borders), enforce current immigration Laws, end the anchor baby fallacy, deport illegal immigrants…there, the only immigration reform needed and problem solved.
You are kidding right ,,,,,how many illegals do you know, that are going to give up the free stuff , to admit they are illegals and pay back money they owe???? There was a time when our country was a place that knew exactly what was going on, who belonged here, who was in line faithfully waiting to become an American because they loved this country and it’s Constitution.. , but now we are the only country with no borders, come on over, It is unsustainable but so is everything .
ok–you guys rule! Good work.
Thanks Scoop. However while Rush may be convinced, I am not and I doubt many will be. This sounds far too much like a bait and switch with this new found love for border security. Anyway, we shall see.
That sums it up well.
30-40 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS
aka D’rat Voter registration = permanent majority FOREVER = Socialism/COMMUNISM FOREVER.
RUSH is WRONG!!!!!!
Let’s GET THIS STRAIGHT, Because I have an issue with the Title. Rush was impressed with what he said.
I heard the whole Interview live, probably just like a lot of people, What I heard Rush say he was impressed with was that Rubio is not afraid of Talk Radio, and that he stays on Point.
Rush is not Thrilled With Amnesty, Rush said the Liberals have promised this before, and Rush stated again and again today, 25 years no voting. Now i wish he would have stated that to Rubio.
Rubio is a Con Artist. This has been his goal since day one. Rubio is not a man of character, he has sold out this country to pander to hispanics. HE LIED BIG TIME in this interview when he said ILLEGALS DO NOT TAKE WELFARE> Anyone who knows me on Facebook already knows I have debunked that 7 different ways to Sunday with the posts on my wall.
I know many like this guy, But when a man not only pushes Amnesty to take AMERICAN JOBS, and all one has to do is look at what Alabama did with Illegals and it opened up jobs for over 2,000 americans, and when he bashes Bachmann over the Muslim Brotherhood, When he admits to using the Credit Card in Florida, When he got busted for Taking illegal Campaign Contributions, When he flat out Lies and Says they are not on Welfare, this is not a Man of Honor. This is a Groomed Politician being shoved down our throats as some sort of Rock Star.
Well my Rock Stars, don’t lie, cheat and steal from my pocket, they follow the rule of law, enforce the laws on the books, and Rubio has now Just made himself the “Token” hispanic to stand there with McAmnesty, Grahamnesty, Durbin, Schummer, and Menedez, to take the hits, and the punches when this fails. hey look we have a Cuban doing this too. He states he is a Conservative, he is NOT, he is a Republican.
Obama’s Speech today, SHOWS NO BORDER ENFORCEMENT.
We finally got out of it but for a while worked in Medcaid provided services to illegals, visited them in government subsidized apartments, heard them on their government supplied cellphones, and saw refrigerators stocked with food stamp groceries.
We also saw social workers helping them get the most of these services. Never was was ID or citizenship asked for.
Many illegals avoid the government at all costs. Others know how to work the system but they could not do it without the blind eye of government employees.
that is what I have seen !! Exactly and great point made 🙂
THIS is a great comment!
Thank you 🙂
@whitneypitcher : The media won’t report it, but Pres. Obama’s immigration speech today cost taxpayers $519.82 per word.
I say send them packing.Period.
No Amnesty for illegals, particularly Islamists. H— NO!
The bi-partisan proposal which Senator Marco Rubio (aka Jeb Bush and Karl Rove) is pushing is another form of amnesty.
Follows is the statement by Senator Ted Cruz:
I appreciate the good work that senators in both parties have put into trying to fix our broken immigration system. There are some good elements in this proposal, especially increasing the resources and manpower to secure our border and also improving and streamlining legal immigration. However, I have deep concerns with the proposed path to citizenship. To allow those who came here illegally to be placed on such a path is both inconsistent with rule of law and profoundly unfair to the millions of legal immigrants who waited years, if not decades, to come to America legally.

Mickey Kaus calls out Sen. Marco Rubio on amnesty flip-flop
John-Frank thanks for the patriotic immigration links; since you posted this came in from Michelle Malkin
RS….I know that you are a BIG Rooobio fan, but insinuating that Rush was impressed with Rooobio because of Marco’s “immigration policy” is false advertisement and it came across just as bad as the LSM…….You should know better.
BTW….I want to know just how many of these “illegal immigrants” that Marco says actually own their own business.
Roooobio makes it sound like that’s the norm when he knows that is not true, it is a VERY small percentage at best…….shame on him.
Rooobio knows that most of the illegals in this country work minimum wage….if they work at all. To insinuate that the illegals are all law abiding people is hogwash and shows Rubio to be a big fat liar.
full court press for Rubio, who has done more damage to his conservative cred with his recent McCain impression that even El Bushbo can fix.
He’s cooked. Wouldn’t vote for this guy for dog catcher.
Heard part of this at work, thanks Scoop for posting. I will NEVER trust Schumer!
I am done with Rubio. I never want to see his face again. He is the Cuban version of Obama.
He actually reminds me of the Bush family.
Kinder gentler compassionate conservatism…and all that rot.
Yeah, something like that. But part of me still admires what the Bush family did for this country. You see, that’s the problem we face. Not any one of us is all good or all evil. We are a mix of both.
I will give you this. I am tired of the criticism of both Bush senior and his son. History will tell us whether the things they did, or did not do, made us better or worse as a nation.
You have to admit they upheld the dignity of the office of The Presidency of The United States of America.
When you compare Laura Bush descending the steps of Air Force One, dressed in a tasteful attire that signified that she knew she was representing the United States of America, to the ugly, fat wife of Obama, descending those same steps just a year later, dressed in shorts from Wal-Mart and flip-flops, with her belly hanging out, you might begin to understand my position on this matter.
I agree. They aren’t all good or all bad but the Bush family ruined the Reagan legacy and in part are responsible for ruination of the Republican brand. There seems to be a thread of people on both sides of the aisle that think they are the best and most fit to rule ie The Ruling Class. That is probably why they gravitate to politics to begin with. The easiest way to tell is if the bulk of their job history comes from government in one form or another.
Most of us don’t go into politics because we have humility but ironically it is that humility that makes us precisely fit to lead.
I like the Bush family, and I think much of their criticism isn’t warranted but some of it is. No more family dynasties for me.
Incidentally I think that ruling class mentality is often why George W. Bush didn’t defend himself. He ruined the Bush legacy not doing so as well as the Republican brand. There is a time and a place to take the high road and time and a place to fight back. He should of fought back.
Thoughtful words, Laurel. Maybe some of these things we will never know. Like you stated in your comment, I also like the Bush family. Because they presented a dignity and an image to the world for America that is missing right now, with these current inhabitants of what I call, “sacred ground.” The White House.
I think of this family called, “Obama,” as a desecration, to all who have died to protect the Freedom of this nation that our Founders risked their very lives for.
I think the Bush family understood and respected what the Obamas don’t.
That was all I was trying to say.
I have to agree completely.
Cubans, Mexicans, or Muslims. Take your pick. The list of people who feel they have right to take over America, is a long line. Here’s a wake-up call for all of us.
There aren’t any White people in the line.
This nation is changing. There are some us who want it to stay the same. Sadly, we are not going to realize that dream.
Communism and Socialism invaded America almost before the ink dried on The Constitution. It has been with us for more than two hundred years. It is with us today.
Some of you will deny it to your grave. Doesn’t matter. As much as you may not want to believe it, it is here among us.
Communism first reared it’s ugly head during Lincoln’s administration. Lincoln regularly conversed with recent German Immigrants who were expelled from Europe, because of their Socialist beliefs. They were his friends, and they influenced his thought. It is a matter of record. Look it up for yourselves.
Karl Marx was a regular contributor to the mindset of what Lincoln thought at the time.
In spite of what most people believe, Lincoln may have been wrong, and the Southern States may have been right. The civil war, as it turns out, was not about slavery at all.
Because what Lincoln succeeding in doing, was squashing State’s rights, once and for all.
Regardless of what our History books might try to teach you, that was basically what the Civil War did. It simply eliminated The States from ever having any power again, against the all powerful Federal Government.
You will never see that idea taught in any classroom of America. Because the classrooms of America, are controlled by Progressives. They get to teach your children. You don’t.
This post is now twenty hours old. Bless her heart, KittyAmerica was the only one.
Says a lot for KittyAmerica. Not so much for the rest of you.
This is nothing but a Trojan Horse amnesty policy. Rubio has been assimilated into the good old boys club in the senate. If he’s the future of conservatism we’re in trouble. Your first clue should be that this is touted as “bipartisan” immigration reform. Keep in mind “bipartisan” is code for democrats get their way…..
All negative comments here about Rubio show how we destroy our own now, we do not even need the dems or media to do it now. Rush thinks he is bright light for conservatives and so do I. I know Rubio is not perfect and he is not even my first choice, but I think he could take it to the dems and the media pretty well. Time will tell.
Have any of you, in your wildest dreams, considered the fact that the Democratic Party, and the Liberals who infest that particular segment of our society, in their quest to take over the world and the way the rest of us live, would not have the slightest hesitation of using someone like Rubio to gain the advantage they seek?
He is the actual representation of everything we are fighting against. He believes everything we don’t. They want to run him in 2016, even though he does not meet the qualifications for President.
This is the sad place our nation has come to. Most of our population do not understand where this nation came from. The sacrifices that were made to give us the Freedom we enjoy.
We are being led by a Communist/Progressive, who wants to diminish our image on the world stage. He and his fat wife both hate America. They are both doing everything they can, to destroy what you and I grew up with, and considered our home and our heritage.
Now we are having Amnesty shoved down our throats, just like we had Obamacare shoved down our throats. How many more Obama Orders are we going to have shoved down our throats?
We have become a country of poorly educated Idiots. Led easily, by people who know how to manage Idiots.
How much longer are you going to suffer this, before you develop a backbone?
Rubio is a strong conservative.
Please don’t make me puke. Rubio is the furthest thing from a Conservative I can think of. Try again.
