I liked this joke by Bill Maher about the crying thing:
"Did you see the new speaker of the House John Boeher cry? He cries a lot. Mr. Boehner you've got to stop crying. For one, your tan is going to run. And what's he going to do if he los...es next time? Put on a Bjork record and cut himself?"
Boehner set the unofficial record for shedding the most tears of any US House speaker in history. Congrats, John! You the man!
I check in and read occasionally, but have found other things to do with my time. Like get to bed earlier. Frankly, I find that my opinions are so much different than most, and my input seems unproductive, and ineffective. In my experience, it takes a long time for people to change their thought process. Most of the people on this sight are "me" ten years ago. I am spending more time working on my wood gas generator and other things that will help me get through the hyperinflation that is coming, possibly this year. I have a spare apartment that needs finished in my shop, so that I can let others live in my house, if necessary. I have raised beds and a greenhouse to build, but need more daylight for that. I do kind of miss the dialogue, but cannot logically spend the time anymore.
That was pretty awesome. I'm almost 50 years old and have never seen what goes on when they change hands with the gavel....loved it.
His speech was great, I just hope they do right....
Someone please tell him to MAN UP for gosh sakes he cries more than any grown man I have ever seen. If this is the new face of our house the other countries are going to crap themselves laughing at our new touchy feely leader-c'mon grow a set -heymaybe we could reach a compromise and Pelosi could give him one of hers.
I wish I could have seen Pelosi's face when Boehner said there were no open rules in the last Congress!
at least we never had to witness an emotional breakdown from Pelosi- with Boener I expect we will all be subjected to endless waterworks -i think he needs medicating. I mean even when i was going through post-partum depression I cried less with twins-man up!!!!!

They won't do as they have promised. Special interests have more influence than 'the 'people'. And even though, they sometimes do what the 'people' tell them to do. That's not necessarily the best thing.
I really like Boehner. I hope his actions match his speech, because it was dead on concerning how we feel about our House.

Her Daddy called her over while he was being sworn in and instead of shushing her he encouraged her to raise her hand again......I see hope.....

I still believe Chris (he's my buddy) Christie is Presidential material. Can America wait until 2016. Maybe, but I can't. We've got to start working on his wife.
