Is she saying that you have to get up off your @$$ in order to accomplish something? Is she saying that you have to get back up every time you fall on your butt? Is she saying that God has a hand in her success?

    Hard work? Trust in God?

That sounds like conservative Tea Party nonsense!

Just sit back and let Obama shower you with EBT cards and Obamaphones!

    • MiketheMarine

What a rarity. She falls in the 8% of Blacks who don’t worship the Liar in Chief? I am impressed.

    • crosshr

      lol, I hear ya denbren52, and ……..True Dat …..!

yes Tea Party is also HERE TO STAY. This lovely story should help to remind many that success is in many ways an attitude

Obama will eventually gone like many as time goes by, like anything else we many times love and hold on to so dearly, dissipates and evaporates in thin air

I’ve learned & know of one thing that will last ! So,I’ll Hold on and keep Holding on !

I feel my spirit is lifted up today, thanks Scoop

    • serfer62

      What an enchanting smile

  • MiketheMarine

Off subject. Foxnews just fired Dick Morris and Karl Rove.

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ The Right Scoop

I read this morning that they weren’t going to be regulars any longer, and if someone wanted to interview them they had to go through management.

I guess that could mean being fired.

      • MiketheMarine

Yeah, that sounds right. I got my info second hand which is not how I normally operate but I am not at my peak today. Thanks for the input, though, Scoop, my Brother.

        =)

    • denbren52

That’s awesome news. Those 2 were really getting on my nerves. Now does that mean that FoxNews will get more, or less, conservative talking heads to replace those 2?

      • MiketheMarine

Certainly, LESS. Let’s all remember that Roger Ails is now licking Soros’ boots for some extra obamabucks.

    • tvlgds

Good! We heard about Rove yesterday and said that Morris should be next. It’s a start.

      • MiketheMarine

I can’t wait till the day we hear that Harry Reid and Nazi Piglosi were taken, bodily to hell for their rewards. Those days can’t be too far off, can they?

    • Watchman74

To bad it wasn’t Juan Williams and Bob Beckel.

      • MiketheMarine

They are the only interpreters fox has that can explain the nonsensical garbage that spills forth from the anointed one and his primary demons.

    • ssenecal5000

Its not off topic. If Rove and Morris were more like Gabby, then they’d be winning competitions too

      • MiketheMarine

Yep, how about Gabby for a Senate seat. Like me, though, I doubt she’d be willing to endure the crap you must go through to join that elite club of thieves.

    • serfer62

Management has said that these two are not allowed without approval from management…don’t go goofy on this, it avoids pandering

      • MiketheMarine

I’ve no issues with it at all. I do like Rove a little bit but I am a big believer in American style freedom and one of those freedoms is the right to hire and fire whomever you want.

I don’t how much longer we will retain these rights but as of today, it is still their right.

        Good comment.

  • marketcomp

    WOW! What a fantastic story!

  • Conservative_Hippie

I haven’t been posting much lately because I wanted to take a break from all the political fog and crap. It’s hard to enjoy the Christmas season when I constantly am bombarded by Obama did this and Boehner did that.

Don’t get me wrong, we need to be aware and even pro-active about the abuses to our freedoms in this country. And I want to thank RS for is relentless pursuit of the Truth! I’m just taking a break and focusing on this celebratory season of Jesus my Lord an Saviour’s Birth. I will return to my usual conservative banter after Christmas.

Gabby Giffords is such a breath of fresh air. With the MSM glorifying the immorality in our culture, nothing says “BOOM” more than a powerful young black woman that loves Jesus (can’t help but think of Mia Love also) and is not ashamed to say and live her faith in front of this messed up Culture! Thank God for all the Gabby Giffords in this world!

    • MiketheMarine

I’m right there with ya, Brother. I’ve met my Bovine excrement limit for a year this past political season and continue posting actively because of my feelings for you guys. Don’t go too quiet or too camoflaged. Personally, I need to see you’re VW bus and screen name to feel right each day.

Hang tough, but I get it.

      • Conservative_Hippie

        Thanks Mike!

        • MiketheMarine

Thanks are appreciated but unnecessary, My Friend.

          ;-)

          • Conservative_Hippie

            Then how about a “like”?

            • MiketheMarine

That works. I’d rather we all meet some day for hand shakes and hugs of my Scoop family. You guys really have taught me so much and have done wonders for my psyche. You ALL rock. What a great group of folks.

              • Conservative_Hippie

                Agreed!

  • tvlgds

    She’s delightful.

  • colliemum

Lovely – a lovely girl, a lovely Olympic Champion.

And she shows what I keep telling people: your faith, your love of God, shines out of your face. It’s not the big smile, it’s not the sparkling eyes, it can’t be faked, it is something for which there are no words, but when you see it you’ll recognise it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Eleanor-Baldwin/100000091796009 Eleanor Baldwin

I think she supported Obama the Great.

    • Conservative_Hippie

“the Great” what? LOL, just toying with you :)

    • TitaniumEagle

She appeared at a rally for him, so yes, unfortunately.

  • deTocqueville1

Thanks so much scoop. What a terrific young woman. Truly an inspiration for folks of all ages and circumstances. Absolutely heart warming.

  • LiveFreeOrDie2012

    RightScoop,

You may been fooled here. Gabby Douglas apparently threw accusations of racism at her gym recently and her mother has supposedly said some questionable things about Gabby not getting endorsements due to racism. I encourage you to follow up here.

    • CPAguy

LOL…prejudice (in particular) and racism are real things that do occur in this country on a wide scale.

Most people are prejudiced in some way…knowing/understanding your bias prevents you from actually acting upon it.

Besides, I can imagine a gym full of pre-teen girls is going to get a bit catty.

    • stage9

Her mom also made the statement in an interview that “It really DOES take a village to raise a child”.

That was the title of Hillary Clinton’s book suggesting that the state had a role to play in raising our kids.

  • stage9

This REALLY got me mad a moment ago:

With Young Voters, Republicans Must Give Up on Social Issues or Give Up Altogether, Poll Data Suggests
    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/with-young-voters-republicans-must-give-up-on-social-issues-or-give-up-altogether-poll-data-suggests/

I know for a FACT that this is true. I have dozens of articles dating back 10 years that suggested that this day was coming. It’s the FISCAL CLIFF of morality where Christianity is abandoned and secularism predominates. And here we are.

I got lambasted several weeks ago for even SUGGESTING that the Church is responsible for the abandonment of our culture to secularism. Never mind the fact that the data backs up that position and that Jesus Christ Himself ordained the Church for the singular purpose of reaching the culture with the Gospel. Also lost in the conversation was the fact that the US USED TO BE predominately Christian but no longer appears to be that way and that is not the culture’s fault, it’s OUR FAULT in the Church!

We have FAILED to reach the culture by defending against the accusations levied against the Word of God. As a result, the CULTURE has “filled in the gaps” for young people with a godless gospel!

And here again, in this article, is yet another example of that evidence starring us in the face!

I’m sorry, I’m happy for Gabby Douglas, that’s a heartwarming story, but we have millions of others whose stories are NOT as positive, and it’s those I’m passionate about!

Ace mentioned something the other day that relates to this (although he was discussing an entirely different thing):

Steve Jobs famously didn’t believe in focus grouping potential buyers and asking them what they wanted. His cutting, but wise, quote is something like: “It’s not the public’s idea to know what they want.”

And that’s true. The general possible buyer does not know the industry like those in the industry do. If you asked people what they wanted from their phones ten years ago, they probably wouldn’t have said, “I want it to include a fairly powerful digital camera in it, and I want to tote all of my digital music collection on it. And, I’d like to use it as a portable tv screen, watching High Def movies which I purchase online.”

No one would have thought of that. Few would have imagined that stuff was doable, and even if they had realized it was doable, they would have asked, “Why do I want all these completely unrelated tech gadgets in my phone?” (Actually, I still ask that, but I’m in the minority.)

And of course now if you offered a “smart phone” missing a single one of these unrelated bits of gadgetry the public would say, “But then that’s not a smart phone!!!”

The idea of asking voters what they want and just taking their word for it is so naive I’m having trouble believing someone in politics said this.

The point is, you simply DO NOT let the kids just do what they want. That isn’t parenting. And in case of the nation, anyone under thirty-five is a kid. I shudder to think what would have happened if the kids had been running the Constitutional Convention.

No, in the same spirit as Jobs meant with “design,” it takes intelligent thinkers to craft something that works for the generations to come. Obama is about destruction. That’s not going to leave anything for the kids to inherit but misery.

Vacation cottage. Scenic views. Unspoiled, ancient scenery of Cornwall. Mind the wee mill. Windmill, that is.

Wonderfully inspiring and great encouragement to take up my cross and follow Jesus today! Thank you.

Lots of articles have been appearing lately pointing out how very deep, wide, and continuous is our government’s ability to put you and me on a list. We’re all on a list for something. Stuff we write here, guns we buy, emails we send, and places you drive (your GPS is on your phone). Get used to it. You are being tracked! But not all lists are bad.

TheRightScoop, for example, was placed on a list over at RightWingNews, for the 60 Best Conservative Blogs for 2012, as selected (from what I can see) by John Hawkins.

Scoop’s site came in at 21, right behind Althouse.

I say congratulations are in order, because this is the second time Scoop has gotten a fairly high ranking on such a list.

Now for the griping (there has to be griping about lists):

    * Number one is Hot Air. That makes no sense
to me. Lots of visitors, but not really lots of
    conservatism on display.
    * Numbers 11, 16, and 22 (from among the top
twenty-five) are ones I’ve never seen in links
or any references at any of the other sites that
are also in the top 25. So that’s odd. I’ve never
heard of them, either. Could be I just missed them,
howevr, and maybe this is more of a strong
recommendation list, and not a real ranking list.
I’ll happily check them out, though.
    * Among those disqualified for writing regularly
for RWN are many who would easily be very high
on any list, so bear those in mind. (That’s why
Doug Ross isn’t on the list, for example).

Anyhoo, that’s another list gone. Scoop, ya done good, brother!

    • FreeManWalking

      Thanks K-Bob!!!

Scoop is # 1 on my list.

      • DebbyX

        MINE TOO!!

She is all that is right with America. God bless her :)

  • wodiej

She wondered what her purpose is but she answered her own question-pass down the message and believe you can succeed. She is right-we all have a purpose and this is hers. To try to lift up black communities with encouragement, inspiration and determination. Great story. God bless her and her Mom and God bless America for it’s opportunities that everyone can take advantage of.
