Olbermann did another one of his classic special comments last night on the Shirley Sherrod story, and Beck had as much fun with it as I’ve ever seen as he relentlessly mocks Olbermann’s manufactured indignity!

Enjoy!

at the begining of this clip, i thought he was actually going to point a finger at himself for his own clipping and slapping together things that only made people look bad…………..so much for hoping……..i think he needs to relook at himself on what the heck he is talking about. Olbermann is the biggest joke in the world. French history?!?!?!?!? And the sad part is, i am of French decent, and didnt know this…

Hey Keith, why not look at OUR UNITED STATES HISTORY FOR ONCE, you dolt, who cares about French history, it has nothing to do with Sherrod, nor can you twist it to make it seem like it should. Point out in American history if you want to tie it to something…………….like, i dont know, how you did this to Palin!?!?!? Just a thought……….

  • Conniejra

This was the best laugh I've had in a long time. I couldn't even drink my coffee watching this one, I was laughing so hard. Made my day!

  • Jaynie59

That was hysterical. Thanks for posting these clips.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Judy-Wick/1135571744 Judy Wick

Oh my – how hilarious. Obermann is such idiot.

  • Amber Stains

That was hilarious. Remember, Obama's pal Alinsky taught us that “ridicule is man's most potent weapon”.

I actually teared up I was laughing so hard at this. Olbermann is so far gone at this point I think he may have had a psychotic break with reality.

I love you Glenn. Keep on keeping on brother.

Oh Beck, you always make my day.

I don't understand how someone who graduated from an AGRICULTURE College, excuse me, HARVARD or YALE or whatever all of you progressivists claim is the “rich, we're-better-than-you-when-we're-just-overpaying-for-stuff-we-don't-need-whatsoever” schools, would know anything about French History.

Hey Keith, here's a tip. If you know so much about France, why not go live there. You certainly don't claim to know anything about the history of the country you live in. Another tip, his name is DICK, not Richard.

  • http://twitter.com/KVIBryan KVI Bryan

funny yes, but belittling anyone for knowing of The Dreyfus Affair is a bit self-parodying.

  • http://popvssoda.com:2998/ Süper Chuñdy

Yeah, Keith Oberfuhrer is such a tool!

Remember when he did that special comment about snorting cocaine, bottoming out, then finding Jesus? What a tool! I wish we could just shut down those dialectical materialists at MSNBC once and for all!!

    high five, Glenn!

  • Guest

It's especially funny when Glenn beck confuses “Alfred Dreyfus” with the actor “Richard Dreyfus”, makes a joke about his name being “Dick” and then calls him “Richard Allen Dreyfus”.

Anyway, this has little to do with French history, the “Dreyfus Affair” is extremely important in WORLD history as a little known journalist name Theodor Herzl covered the story and then used it as a launching point for the Zionist movement that lead the creation of the state of Israel. I remember learning about it in high school – in fact I think we even had a mock Dreyfus trial in our class.

  • Culture Warrior

Dipstick, Richard Dreyfuss produced and starred in an HBO movie about Alfred Dreyfus, entitled “Prisoner of Honor.” Dreyfuss the actor played Colonel Georges Picquart, given the job of justifying Captain Dreyfus' sentence. Instead, Picquart discovers that Dreyfus, a Jew, was merely a convenient scapegoat for the actions of the true culprit, a member of the French General staff. His attempt to right the wrong sees his military career ended. Ergo, Glenn Beck affiliates the two with the same, but spelled differently, surname.

    Got it?

  • Guest

Haha, I'm sure in that fleeting moment, during which Beck's whole point was that Olbermann is a pretentious ego maniac who refers to Alfred Dreyfus as if everyone should know who he is, that Beck thought back to his cherished moments watching an HBO special about Dreyfus staring Richard Dreyfuss as another character. Right. Both Beck and Olbermann are crazy ego maniacs, they just hold opposing political views. And the name calling is unnecessary, come on.

  • Rhonda

Richard Alan Dreyfus? Seriously? If he is going to quote history, even French history, he could at least get the names correct. It was Alfred Dreyfus nimrod! Leave it to Mr. Olberman (who has proven his ineptitude) to stumble through his words and sputter with such emotion he can't figure out that the two stories cannot be compared to each other in any way. There is actually much more to both stories which Mr. Olberman has no interest in researching. A typical liberal.

  • DSB

Wow…you absolutely missed the analogy made to the Dreyfus Affair…no wonder.

  • DSB

I don't understand why you think Olbermann knows nothing about US History when he was simply making an analogy. I guess the entire point went over your head.

    • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

what head? oh, yeah. that lump located about three feet above eyou331’s ass.

      • http://www.therightscoop.com/ therightscoop

It’s clear you are here to just try and stir up trouble. I don’t mind if you comment, but trolls are not allowed. This is your final warning.

  • Mytime1976

He wasn't belittling for knowing about the Dreyfus Affair. He was belittled because he spoke of it as if we all should know of it which is comical/laughable.

  • Nospam

Glenn didn't do any “clipping and slapping together”. He did show the clip from Brietbart’s site, but then asked to see the whole clip because, “Context matters”. He then defended her because we didn't have all the facts yet… now… who made rash decisions based on only some of the facts… hmmmm…

  • cmo

    That was too funny!!!

  • Dove947

the man Keith was referring to was Capt. Alfred Dreyfus. There is no Richard or Dick in his name. Glenn made a mistake, and though I am a big fan of Mr. Beck's, I am not happy with his performance. He was making mistakes and making fun of someone else. Exposing the wrongs others are trying to cover up is one thing…l can respect that; but ridicule and while doing so not even getting the facts straight? It makes Mr. Beck look juvenile and bad. Not his best moment.

    • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

Makes him “look” juvenile? He is juvenile.

  • Foygreenwood

Yes—Beck attacked Olberman, because Olberman had the gall to believe that people like you actually read and have a cursory (High school level) knowledge of European History. Goodness, how COULD Olberman be such a fool? Everyone knows that Beck fans don't read. Silly Keith.

  • Foygreenwood

I believe that you mean didactic, genius. If not, in what dialect do the “materialists at MSNBC” speak? I have yet to hear a vernacularism on that network.

  • http://popvssoda.com:2998/ Süper Chuñdy

No, you rectal wipe. I did mean “dialectical.”

As in dialectical materialism: (noun) a form of materialism, developed chiefly by Karl Marx, noted esp. for the application of the Hegelian dialectic in its philosophy of history.

I thought Glenn Beck fans knew everything about communism. Or has Glenn not spoon fed you a didactic lecture on dialectical materialism yet?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=504660556 Mike Couch

Olbertool made such a complete ass of himself. How MSNBC keeps him is beyond me.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Richard-Easbey/629408285 Richard Easbey

Thank god for insufferably bumptious lefties like yourself. Why, without you superior intellectual types we conservatives would never know how dumb we are.

    Asshat.

    • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

no truer words have ever been spoken.

  • Suwink

    He was having fun.

  • Sophie

Yeah, Glenn's listeners are so illiterate that he consistently leads the top book sales lists, at one time even having five in the top ten. Not only that, sales of every book Glenn recommends skyrocket overnight. If you examine the types of books that make it to the top of the list, the vast majority of them are written by conservatives. Wow! Given those facts, one can clearly see that it's really the progressive liberals who are the illiterates, huh?

    • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

“sales of every book Glenn recommends skyrocket overnight.”

Yes. Do you know how this is accomplished? Bulk sales. What we in the real world refer to as wingnut-welfare.

Glenn Beck is acting like he's never said anything stupid, and that is what's really funny. Beck hasn't the mental capacity to understand the Constitution: he's in no position to mock other's…but he hypocritically does!

    • Anonymous

Making more accusations without justification? Wow, you do get around Huffy Puffy…

  • KimberlyAE

Have you ever seen Keith Olbermann's show?

If you do anymore than just laugh at that man, then you're taking his show and him more seriously than he ever deserves.

    Keith Olbermann is a caricature.

    • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

      Pure projection.

  • crookedwren

Why is it that Beck and FOX get the blame for everything — even when this other commentator gets so much WRONG and calls out (inaccurately) FOX?

Even here in these comments, Beck gets hit as hard or harder than Herr Olbermann.

    I admit. I laughed.

  • Jobu

So you think these two simpering fools are being intelligent with their middle school laughter? Because they are ignorant of the Dreyfus case? But then again, fear and ignorance are Glenn Beck's metier (French word).

  • Guest

Isn't it a far stretch to go back 120 years for a comparison and then have to look in a different country for the comparison?

    • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

No more of a stretch than Glenn going back 70 yrs and referring to Obama as a fascist/Hitler.

  • Donna

The Dreyfus case was very important and I don't commend Beck and his sidekick for not knowing about it. However, you and other lib commentators here are also missing the point. Comparing a man who suffered on Devil's Island to someone who had a few uncomfortable hours and is now (laughably) being nominated for sainthood by the left is also ridiculous.

If Sherrold was unfairly labeled a racist, well, now someone on the left knows what it feels like. Meanwhile, that $100,000 Breitbart offered to anybody who can offer proof that tea party people used the “n” word and spat on black reps is still unclaimed – because it's a lie. The lefties can live with that lie.

  • Nospam

You go girl! Its not very often a cry of real racism is herd and then actually backed up in reference to Tea Party/Glenn/Rush/etc. followers. I haven't once heard any factual claim of racism backed up in regard to tea party/912'rs. The one video I have seen was edited to only show the moron with his “White power” shirt. What the edited video didn't show but the full video did was the other tea party members kicking him out! Butt heads like that don't represent us and what we stand for.

Stay strong gang. Don't let hatred or fear stop our momentum.

  • Autoteck1

I beleve this is just having fun with Obermans idiotic comaprison of two totaly unrelated uncompareable matters. I do agrea with one thing Oberman said about Obama “This selfdefeatingly above it all president included”. I think somehow some way he is beginning to see the light!

  • http://twitter.com/gellao5 gella

My comment is not about K.Olbermann, but about G. Beck's commenting the Dreyfus affair. It is a very well known case in history, both french and jewish, and beyond. Sharodd's situation of course has nothing to do with Dreyfus case, but nevertheless I am taken aback by the way Glenn Beck talks about the latter. Very unpleasant aftertaste

  • http://twitter.com/gellao5 gella

@Dover947 – fully agree with you. Quite an amazing and sad clip

  • http://twitter.com/gellao5 gella

@Mytime1976 – yes you should know about Dreyfus Affair. Everyone should. As a matter a fact very many do.

  • Actech1

you go girl.if old “foggy brain” would like to drop by my house,i'll show him some of the books i read. their heavy enough to squash that melon he calls a head from a 3 foot drop

  • http://twitter.com/joeyess joeyess

What is this? Is Glenn Beck 12 yrs old? If anyone here does not know the story of injustice that was inflicted upon Alfred Dreyfus is an idiot. Glenny-boy proves that he is in that camp.

I think the man is drinking again.

    What a douche.

  • Mikeaamato

The Dreyfus affair was not just French history, nor even merely world history. It was one of the more significant points in history, period — a seminal point in terms of institutionalized racism, specifically anti-Semitism, in government, and one of the most significant precursors of the Holocaust. The fact that the analogy just blows right by Beck and Gray — them with their giggling and exaggerated rolling “r”s of Breitbart — just shows them to be the ignoramuses they are proud of being.

  • Cape70

Once again, Beck shows his red a**. Palin? Ag degree, too. Beck? Couldn't even get thru a semester of college. Now, he's confuting the Dreyfus Affair, which prompted the risk of anti-semitism in Europe. How appropriate.

  • Molly Malone

I donno, Cape70, I laughed all the way through the tape. Clearly, Beck–the self-professed historian–didn't have a clue about the Dreyfus Affair and its historical significance; confused Alfred Dreyfus with actor Richard Dreyfus; didn't know that many of today's excellent universities began life as “Ag schools”; and blithely assumed, in his ignorance, that he was pulling off a hillarious put-down of K.O., when in fact the laugh was on Beck.

  • Pod

The Agricultural College here is Cornell. And Beck is a graduate of what college? And why not?

  • Fredmerc

If you listen to the clip Olbermann does get his name right. It is your beloved Beck who conflates it with Richard and “Dick”.

  • Fredmerc

You make a more adult, and reasoned response to the historical analogy Olbermann was making than Beck does with his childish, forced mockery.

  • Mikeaamato

Keith Olbermann did indeed graduate from an ag school — at Cornell. Considering that Glenn Beck couldn't even make it through a single semester of college … well, let's just say he's not exactly in any position to deride anyone else's education. (And besides, what does Beck have against agricultural colleges? Sarah Palin graduated from one too, dude.)

  • Teaspooner

In summary: We is Americans! We don't need us no Frenchie history lessons from some educated elitist! Americans do not need European history lessons; it has nothing to do with our Freedoms and independence, the way Beck and Palin books do! We read Becks books, so we are smart. Libs don't read his books, what does that tell you?

  • Fredmerc

Perhaps that case could be made in an effective, reasoned way, and not simply appealing to the lowest form by using childish mockery?

  • Luman Donald

Could it be that some in the lamestream media are frustrated and need to take it out on someone as good as Glenn Beck? Keith Olberman is strange.

  • Idiotland

And of course, destroying a woman's reputation is just hilarious to the infantile 12 year olds on the right. But of course, in the unread states who needs edumication. It will maik yuu librul. It's much more fun to live in a neocon fantasy world and pretend that the US isn't a failed state.

  • Gdominguez10

Who destoryed her reputation? The NAACP or the president who had her fired? A “woman's reputation” was not destroyed. Obama offered her job back but she wasn't sure she wants to work for the government again. She'll probably write a book and make money out of this whole affair? But her reputation destroyed? If she had not changed her racists ways she should have had her reputation destoryed. But she saw the light and will do very well now. What gets me about liberals is that they think they are smarter than everybody else. I've yet to see a liberal who can hold a candle to someone like the late William F. Buckley or Michael Medved.

  • Burger

ahah, what an idiot olberman is. Expecting us to know who Dreyfus is. He's so stupid for know stuff and things.

  • Fredmerc

Deep down inside I think you would know anyway, even without the evil, elitist lefties and there fancy education and knowledge. But hey just point at them and yell “NERD!” That way you will feel superior for a little while.

  • Fredmerc

Exactly, these elitists with their arcane knowledge are ruining our country… Who cares about some dead Europeans anyway. not like they had anything to do with the foundation of our great country… I got to go. today Beck is telling us how the EPA trying to protect the air we breath from even more pollutuon is actually taking our freedoms away….. I don't care if someones kids get cancer, someday I may want to open up a facotry and spew toxins into the air, and these lib bastards are ruining my dream!!!!

  • Fredmerc

Since the poster still thinks the name is Dick (Richard), then yes your guess would be correct.
The whole premise of the post was scary… as if knowledge is such a bad thing, particularly knowledge of events that laid the foundation for what we as a country stand for….. oh well…

PS People that study the solar system (astronomers) should go live on Mars!!!!! Since they love it soooo much!!!

  • Fredmerc

No, I don't get it at all. He called Alfred Dreyfus richard dreyfuss, and then Dick because Richard was in a movie about Alfred, but did not play alfred? Why didn't he just call him Kevin Bacon then? You know because Kevin was in this movie with an actor who was in antoher movie with Richard, and therefore is also a stand in for an important historical figure….

  • Molly Malone

Well, I kinda have to disagree with you here. For one thing, the person who fired Sherrod said that he was the one who made that decision, not the WH, not Obama, just him. You are right in that the NAACP most certainly deserves to be taken to the woodshed for their part in the whole mess, and same goes for those in the media who should have known from past experience that Breitbart is not and never has been a reliable source.

But to say, “No harm, no foul”, when whoever isolated that little splice from the entire tape of Sherrod's speech most certainly did so with the intention of causing harm, seems to me a bit like claiming that someone who attempts to blow up a building gets a free pass if the bomb fails to detonate. The intention was to knowingly, willingly cause harm to an innocent person. And that is precisely what would have happened had Sherrod not immediately fought back; had the white farmers not called bullshit on the accusations; had the entire tape never surfaced. It was this dangerous willingness to rush to judgement, sans verification, that prompted K.O. to draw a parallel between Dreyfus and Sherrod. And yes, Devil's Island was a hellhole, but public humiliation and being ostracised can be pretty hellish, too.

FYI, William F. Buckley was a well-educated, bright, articulate man. I knew Bill Buckley, and Glenn Beck, sir, is no William F. Buckley. In fact, the difference between Buckley and Beck is approximately the distance from Earth to Alpha Centauri. Well…probably considerably farther, but I'm being kind.

  • mina

Hey Flag, Kudos to your school! The most “current” subject I was taught in public schools was about “carpetbaggers & Quakers.” I wish more teachers would focus on interesting topics. Starting with “who built the pyramids” would be a fantastic way to get kids interested in history. It wasn't until I was married until I realized History was interesting and important.

  • Not so Stupid

Would you like to explain your accusations? Significant point in history? How so? Anti-Semitsm? Based on what proof? Precursors? You mean that the Nazis learned how to do it from this Pappion (Butterfly tattoo reference) incident? I have a different take on the Nazis and anti-semitism. I see a wind, nay, hurricane blowing past you. I recommend a reading of an unbiased history tome and not a revisionist one.

  • Not so Stupid

How could an event long after the founding of this nation have an influence on its founding.

BTW, “Richard” Dryfus is an actor, the original Pappion wan not. “A little learning is a dangerous thing”, BTW.

  • KimberlyAE

On his show Countdown, Keith has claimed a superior position because of his “Ivy League education” and has viciously derided others because of the colleges they attended…

Keith is so sensitive to the subject of his Alma Mater that when Ann Coulter correctly identified his college as an Ag school, the next night Keith went on his show in an indignant hissy fit and held up his framed degree pointing to the large font that read Cornell University, to prove to the world his pedigree.

He deserved to be made fun of, he can't admit he went to an Ag school because he's ashamed of if. Glenn Beck is not afraid of his education and he'll tell everyone he's self educated, he knows the institution does not make the man.

  • Niseep

Thank you. I needed a good laugh and my stomach still hurts from the profound levity. Mr O is hard to stomach. He is vicious and attacks venomously instead of ever DISCUSSING issues. It was cathartic to watch this clip and revel in his ignorance and feined chiding. The liberal media and idiots like Mr. Dean want so badly to blame FOX, but the facts get in their way…so Mr O tries to confuse the issue with French history. Clearly those who OVERREACTED were the administration numskulls who checked nothing. Thanks Glen for bringing some levity into a heavy week. I really needed this laugh.

  • Peacemaker 47

I wonder what Obermann will do when he grows up?

  • Kristensmiles

Excuse me? How is it that Beck does not have the mental capacity to understand the Consitution? What evidence do you have for that? I have listened to Beck for 3 years now and I think he has a superior understanding of the Constitution. I have studied the Constitution both in school (high, undergrad and grad) and in self-study. I do not consider myself a Constitutional Scholar, but think I have a pretty good handle on it and our Framers' original intent. I also see where the Courts have gone adrift from the original intent and spirit of the Contitution, esp. in Commerce Clause cases. Anyway, how is it that Glenn does not understand the Constitution?

  • Stopied

History? Who needs history. How much more time are they going to spend laughing at nothing? Name calling etc. Did you actually listen to this? Is this waht you guys listen too daily? Is this it? You guys must be very, very lonely. Can you respond to the actual history? Or are you too busy eating “freedom fries”?

    • Me

Come on Stopied – anyone that doesn’t see the humor in this is useless. Keith was ASKING for it
