Go find a better country! – Trump responds to America-hating Kaepernick

Trump was asked about the Kaepernick controversy and he did what he always does – bleats out whatever he sees being repeated in social media.

From the Business Insider:

The Manhattan billionaire was asked about the Kaepernick controversy during a radio interview with KIRO’s Dori Monson ahead of a rally Trump is holding on Tuesday in Everett, Washington.

“I have followed it and I think it’s personally not a good thing, I think it’s a terrible thing,” Trump said. “And maybe he should find a country that works better for him, let him try. It won’t happen.”

I know this is being repeated a lot by Kaepernick’s detractors, but I really think it’s an unreasonable reaction. Do we say that you can’t criticize America at all? Then what about our criticisms of America under Obama? I think it makes more sense to attack his “Black Lives Matter” sentiment, rather than to scream, “go find another country!”

I mean, isn’t there enough to go after this about, given that he’s found of wearing Fidel Castro shirts!?

What he said was idiotic, so let’s say that. Wishing people would leave the country because they criticize it can be used against us too. But that’s only if words actually matter. If they only exist as a measure of how strongly we feel about something, then let’s Trump it up, by all means.
