Greg Gutfeld, Sean Hannity remember Andrew Breitbart

Both Greg Gutfeld and Sean Hannity were close friends of Andrew Breitbart and they went on Fox News this morning to remember his life. You might need a tissue:

Also, Sarah Palin and Mark Levin remember Andrew Breitbart.

UPDATED: Here is an emotional interview from Jonah Goldberg just as the story was breaking:

Wow, makes me miss him even more!

  • Tr

    Bill Ayers poisoned him.

    • Jaynie59

I have never flagged a comment before this one. Anywhere, on any blog or message board and I’ve been on the internet for almost 15 years.

But your ilk will not make conservatives look bad over Andrew’s death.

      • Sober_Thinking

I didn’t see the comment, thank you Scoop.

If someone was that evil and pathetic to mock the passing of this great man… then that person needs to rot in hell. What a low and sickening thing to do.

  • Thanks for posting this stuff RightScoop.

  • Man I thought Gutfeld was going to break down, not that I would blame him.

  • Maxsteele

There is a huge vacuum in honest reporting now. Who has the cajones to fill Breitbarts shoes?

    • I think we’re reading his site now. At least in continuing to report the truth, even if Scoop doesn’t go into the depths of the story and break it the way Breitbart did, we do have an honest and excellent source we can trust to bring us the real news.

    • PFFV

No one can, Breitbart is a legend forever. RIP my friend.

    • kant1066

      HONEST reporting? Yeah. Right.

      • Rshill7

It was nice to see news reports that weren’t dispatched from Obama’s colon.

      • Sober_Thinking

Wish I wouldn’t be kicked from this site for saying what needs to be said to the likes of you. But I will let this one slip (at my own peril): You’re a lowlife to mock this man on this site. Go back to MSNBC or the crack you crawled out of you fungus.

And don’t bother responding… I won’t waste my time reading anything else you have to say.

        • Jaynie59

I will flag and reply to every one of these low life scum bags who attempts to disparage Andrew’s life’s work and legacy and I will do it in the most personal, nasty, and insulting way possible depending on how low they go. If Brian and the moderators here want to ban me for it, they are more than welcome to.

THIS is EXACTLY the problem with conservative bloggers. This twisted notion that they have to be “reasonable” with people who rejoice at the death and suffering of anyone even perceived to be right of center. This idea that they have to put up with this kind of hate on their own sites because they want to appear “tolerant”.

          • Sober_Thinking

            You rock Jaynie!

      • Jaynie59

I flagged your comment because it’s a lie. Andrew Breitbart was the most honest man in media today and I won’t allow any comment like this to go unchallenged.

Everything Andrew Breitbart was involved with was true, honest, and important. He exposed the dishonesty and lies of government and the mainstream media.

        You are the liar.

  • Jaynie59

Greg is right that Andrew is going to be a legend. But it’s going to be up to all of us to make sure he becomes a Legend. Because the Left will try to finish the job of destroying his reputation and they will get far too much help from those on the Right who never fail to fall for Alinsky tactics and do more to further the lies out of embarrassment.

We do need to take up his fight. We can start by commenting on every so-called conservative blog and website that attempts to further any narrative about Andrew Breitbart that the Left wants furthered.

    • SpikeT

By and large the greatest movers and shakers are people who experienced conversions while on the road. Andrew was one, but he isn’t travelling alone.

Andrew ahd a classic Journalist’s conscience as he mined for truth.

    • K-Bob

      Good idea.

You know, there’s a news item floating around the web (I first saw it at TheOtherMccain blog) about an ad that ends with:

      “Go to hell Barack”

This reminded me of Breitbart’s opening comments at the Wisconsin Tea Party rally for Scott Walker’s reforms in April of 2011. In this classic rant, Andrew says to the Union thugs and “shame pigs”…

      “Go to hell. No, serious!”

I respect Christians for recoiling from this imprecation, but when you really mean it, it’s a statement of a whole different order. We have got to stop letting these leftist fringe-thinkers and mob dwellers think they own this country.

  • “The test of the artist does not lie in the will with which he goes to work, but in the excellence of the work he produces.”
    Thomas Aquinas
Breitbart was an artist, he was a man of integrity in a medium which has so little honesty, integrity and honor. We can hope that the excellence he brought will continue in those who worked with him and those who were inspired by him.

  • Spartan1975

    Rest In Peace Andrew!

  • NJK

My heart is broken for him. His family needs to have a private autopsy even though he had health problems.

  • Philo Beddoe

Wait a second, something does smell here.

Whitney Houston died and the news release was that she died but results to be determined. A few days later, there was a autopsy report.

Breitbart dies late at night in LA and 3 hours on the east coast, it is reported that he died of heart problems, no autopsy.

I personally find it hard to believe that it is known why he died so quickly, especially at this age.

    • WordsFailMe

A coke/crack fiend honored for overdosing by New Jersey. Expect NOTHING from California. Nothing. It makes me ill.

      • SpikeT

California is a puddle-extension of the DC swamp. I don’t want to broadbrush…..but a nice wide paint roller will do.

    • Whitney didn’t die of natural causes. Meaning they have to wait for toxicology tests. An autopsy can determine heart attack.

  • Rightstuff1

This is just so upsetting. We have lost a GIANT of the Conservative cause. He should have been with us as we took our country back with his help, his passion and his endless pursuit of truth.

  • GraceKnows

Farewell, American hero! The word “fearless” does definitely describe Andrew. My prayers go up for his wife and young children. I know he was a loving father and husband. And he was a man on a mission!

At CPAC, he said that he had some information to expose about Obama – was it Obama’s college records?

I’ve only heard ‘natural causes’, and then of course Greg or Sean mentioned his heart problems. But let’s hope that he left his documents in safe hands so that his research on Obama was not in vain.

    God has him now!

  • Both Gutfeld and Hannity vaguely allude to Breitbart’s health being an issue. I will suspend all suspicions until I hear more about that.

    • anneinarkansas

I agree with you…hope there will be an autopsy and investigation.

    • without_hate

I can not suspend my suspicions. The government under this administration has turned me from a trusting soul to a cynical person that does not take anything at face value. We have lost a tremendous voice for freedom.

  • If not us then who? If not now, when?

  • Freedomswatch

May God rest his soul and may we all pray for his wife and children. Thank you Andrew for bringing the truth to light each and every day. A brilliant man, a life too short. Remember to hug those you love today.

  • PFFV

I can’t stop shedding tears. This man inspired me to get involved in politics. The world is a much darker place without Andrew in it. Rest in peace my brave warrior; you will be missed like no other. My heart goes out to Andrews family and friends. We will all be together again, in time. God bless Andrew Breitbart and God bless you all.

    • tvlgds

Me either. Even Bob Beckel had nice things to say about him. Greg Gutfeld is going to have a full hr. about him on Red Eye tonight. I set my recorder. I should have more tears to shed by the time I watch it tomorrow.

      • BS61

Thanks for letting me know about Red Eye, I’ll be watching tomorrow

  • Happyface2

Now that he is gone unfortunately we will now take twenty steps back and try and find his replacement and that will not happen so easy.Boy am I going to miss this person.

  • anneinarkansas

Greg is correct that Andrew will be a legend but his legacy must absolutely be carried on by others with the power and influence to do just that.
Greg, Hannity, Drudge, and many others will do their best!

  • Sober_Thinking

May he find peace in heaven that he never found on this earth. He was one of our greatest warriors for America and the conservative cause. A giant has fallen.

Sorry to be honest… but I can’t stop crying.

    • SpikeT

      You’re not alone Sober-Thinking.

  • SpikeT

Andrew was on FIRE. The ember will remain.

Andrew was a contrubutor, not a receiver. God rest his soul.

  • Spartan4Palin

We have lost a great warrior here on earth. But our nation has just gotten a fabulous ‘guardians angel’ for the fight. God needed him more.

My prayers are with his family. Rest in peace, Andrew. Thank you for paving the way for all of us to continue the fight! We will not let you down!

    • Man…great post! “God needed him more.” I’m stealing that one!

  • cherylmcr

He will be so deeply missed. May God bless his wife and children. My heart goes out to them.

  • odin147

    tough loss

  • without_hate

We have lost a fearless warrior for the restoration of freedom in the United States. I was shocked to open the computer and find that a forty-three year old American male, who happens to be a major player in the war against the democrats . died of natural causes. I am at the point that I do not trust this government and have developed a suspicious nature. I would assume that a death of this prominent warrior will be investigated thoroughly.”Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior.” Karl Von Clausewitz

Sleep well my friend you have done your part. We that are left are inspired by your courage and will pick up the colors and continue our march till victory is achieved.

  • p m

So young, too young. His poor wife and children. What a brilliant man, gone home too soon.

Poor Jonah too – it’s only a year and one week since he lost his own beloved brother. For him, this must be like losing another.

    Condolences to all.

I found Andrew on Red Eye and realize that there is a funny straight shooter, fearless supporter of True Freedoms’ RIGHTs endowed by the CREATOR and a Truth Constitutional Warrior.

I admired his support and stand with Tea Party. An ex-lib as I watched Andrew closely and vastly admired his ability to get a hold of what is right and able to adapt to live the truth and what is in many a time will be infamously the fact and right in political issues in this nation.

Your work has DONE ANDREW. RIP !

Our turn, has cut out for us !

  • Constance

Ouch. I just now am learning of this news. How sad this is.

  • tvlgds

Wow, that was a heartbreaker from Jonah Goldberg. I’m still just stunned.

  • DebbyX

    Sad, sad day.

  • giomerica

Conservatives have lost a warrior and patriot today. He will be sorely missed…

  • drphibes

    He is legend.

  • aZjimbo

RIP Andrew. You pissed off many a liberal and that is a great thing.

  • BS61

Well you were correct about the tissue TRS!

  • Nukeman60

If you’re taking flak, you’ve gotta be over the target

Couldn’t say it any better about Breitbart. He sure took a lot of flak, and he sure hit a lot of targets. Those targets are ours now. We need to keep hitting.

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night‘ – Andrew Breitbart

Sleep well, stout warrior. We’ve got your back.

  • grimjesse

I suggest if you didn’t add some of the Breitbart sites to your favorites, do so now. Let’s give the dynasty he created the support they need, I hope they carry on his work just as fearlessly.
Very, very few Conservatives can compare to Breitbart, willing to get down and dirty and fight the left on their turf. The left was *shocked* by Breitbart because Conservatives are all supposed to be too nice to fight back, a bunch of Richie Cunninghams. In fact nobody compares to Andrew Breitbart, let’s hope some people are inspired by him.
I will miss Andrew Breitbart greatly, let’s beat Obama and destroy the left. I want to toast Breitbart on election night. R.I.P. and Thank you.

  • stangbanger49

Andrew your voice will be missed and I for one will pick and carry the banner of conservatism morals and just plain common sense mixed with a sense of humor just like you. Your contribution to the coservative cause will not be forgotten nor will it be in vain.
Andrew Breitbart was a warrior and an honorable man and his family will be in my prayers.

  • TheRedWriter

What are the natural causes? Heart attack?
