FULL SPEECH: Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in Ashland, Va

Romney was on fire during his speech in Ashland. I think adding Ryan to the ticket has energized him because I think it’s the best I’ve heard from him. I included Ryan’s intro which was very good as well. They will make a fantastic team.

Watch below:

NOTE: Romney’s speech begins around 6:45.

I’m not getting it either just yet, but I’m still super pumped, regardless.

There’s a feeling in my gut, like a cross between butterflies and bald eagles. The rising of national pride and patriotism once again. I feel as if the surgeons have arrived and are scrubbing up in preparation for their duty in the operating room. I feel like they know where the cancer is, and how to excise it. I feel like they know which medicines to prescribe afterwards to bring further health and healing.

This is very good day. I feel just great. That’s really how I feel.

    • conservative58

Ditto!!! I am TOTALLY pumped today!
      Oh HAPPY DAY!!

    • nibblesyble

you do have a way with words my friend! Looove it!

  • Joe

EVERY time they Obama HOODS put out a stupid commercial

Good strategy Joe because there is nothing like telling the truth.

  • Just found this but have to go out I do hope this is posted later on Mitt’s website for folks to walk when they have time!!!

  • MJScanlonOH

I love the Ryan pick! I am a proud Miami University graduate, like Mr. Ryan, and share his same values. First and foremost, he is prolife! Then, he fits all the other tests, the most important one, is the test of his character! Let the war of ideas be enjoined in earnest!

  • MaxineCA

Wow, Romney is really fired up today! Great to see the enthusiasm and passion.

    • Rshill7

      High-Five Maxine!

  • nibblesyble

    Happy Day!!

    • conservative58

Now, if only I could get a ‘High-Five’ from Rshill7…

  • TJ

They had the announcement by Romney and Ryan’s speech in Virginia playing live on our local CBS channel (we don’t have cable/dish). I was relieved and pleased Romney chose someone with a pro-life, pro-marriage record. I was one who was waiting to learn if Romney would choose someone strong on these issues before I would decide to plan to vote the Romney ticket or not. I am now planning to do so with this Ryan pick.

  • I LOVE Mitt Romney’s VP choice… he has a pro-life, pro-traditional family, fiscally conservative record AND he is smart as a whip!

  • MaxineCA

This should get interesting folks. Let’s see how the Chicago thugs will attack. I think they will recycle their lame talking points. Great, that will allow R&R to talk about their policies.

Throwing grandma off the cliff? Actually they will save grandma and future grannies.

Ryan is too young to be POTUS (I already heard that one today). Was JFK too young? Was Bamster too young?

Ryan has no foreign policy or military experience. Who cares, that’s why they will put in a strong Sec. of Defense and State. If we are not strong economically, none of that matters.

R & R are against women, the poor, middle class ….. yada, yada, yada.

This should be entertaining to watch. Axelrod and his gang of thugs will be working feverishly this weekend writing a whole new batch of lies and getting them out to their lapdogs. They will do anything to deflect from Bamster’s record.

    • Patriot077

I see ads with Paul Ryan in a Superman suit swooping in to save Granny as they throw her off the cliff.

I would love to see Paul Ryan toe to toe with Axelrod … what a perfect backdrop to illustrate the difference between a shyster’s lies and a convicted patriot’s policies.

      • MaxineCA

Superman – Great visual. Good one!

    • proudhispanicconservative

It is going to be very hard for the Chicago thugs, since now they are going to have to talk about things they didnt want to talk about, and believe me this guy is as sharp as I have seen any politician, this guy is a very unique politician because he appeals to tea party, and establishment alike, that is why I am so excited.

  • Is anyone else having trouble viewing the video? It keeps saying video not found or access denied.

    • proudhispanicconservative

keep refreshing and trying again I had the same problem, but now I am watching.

  • Mmmm yummy. Biscotti and coffee while watching a great speech. Hope is in thee air!

  • deeme

I’m proud of Romney for keeping his word and picking a true Conservative..I love Paul Ryan and he is already making history with his,”Obama cares more about the next election then the next Generation”..One of the only guys working in Congress trying to save Medicare and Social Security rather then bankrupt it and we need to do a better job of showing the stark contrast between people who care about the elderly and future generations and those who want to feed it a pill or take it to ruin. I’m glad his voice has a platform he deserves it ..Together they look strong..and are for the economy..

  • Guest1776rcp

Ryan’s yes vote for Chucky Shummers “S 679 – Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011” is quite disturbing and perturbing.

Why did the GOP controlled House pass the “Wannabe Dictators Act” which shreds the Constitutional checks and balances?

    • JohnOfPhiladelphia

You have a funny way of trying to make friends here. Don’t you know it’s pat-a-RINO-on-the-back-and-call-him-a-constitutional-conservative day here at TRS?

If you don’t want to join in the festivities and only want to spew the truth and ask searching questions like that, then forget it; This ain’t the place for you!

LOL 177, I hear ya. Nobody else here does though… or at least, nobody else here wants to admit they hear you.

      PEACE, bro!

  • capelady

Paul Ryan was absolutely Reaganesque today… he is clearly able to communicate why conservatism is the only way to save our republic and our economy! He is optimistic, intelligent, and able to inspire Americans to hope for the future of America again! He also the same youth and young family that JFK had that is so appealing and will add vigor and excitement to the campaign. He was a great pick.. I just find myself wishing he was on the top of the ticket!

  • Orangeone

Thank you The Right Scoop for posting these great videos of our next President and Vice President!

  • Rightstuff1

Romney was on fire !!! Wow! never seen him with this kind of fire in his belly. Yesss!

  • Laodicean36
  • PapaLouie

Smart, young, and conservative! This is a great setup for the future. Paul Ryan 2020!

  • p m

TRS, like your new graphic – red, white and blue Romney/Ryan.

  • What I like when I see a picture of them together is that they really, really seem to like each other. How nice.

  • anyonebutbarry2012

    Via The Hill:

President Obama ignored questions about Mitt Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan as a running mate as he boarded Marine One to leave the White House on Saturday.

According to the White House pool report, the president did not respond to questions shouted as he walked to the helicopter. He did wave to a small crowd nearby gathered for the takeoff.

While the president has yet to comment directly on the selection, Vice President Joe Biden called the Wisconsin lawmaker earlier Saturday to congratulate him on his selection.

a real leader would offer congatulations, but barry is a immature punk.

ryan and romney both gave great speeches !!

  • Michael Shepard

It kind of feels like Morning in America….Again!

  • Major914

I’m glad Paul Ryan is our candidate for VP!

One of the good things his candidacy will unavoidably cause during the runup to the election is a repetitive, relatively thorough, and sharp focus by an unwilling left-leaning media on the fact that the Senate has refused, contrary to law, to pass any budget plan at all for well over 3 long years… and Fauxbama’s ‘plan’ was voted down twice by every Democrat, as well as Republican in the Senate!

The media will find it impossible to attempt to villify Ryan over his budget proposal without highlighting these facts over and over again….

    • deeme

It’s day one and they are already attacking him for wanting to take away from the old, veterans, and students, give to the rich, and his love for the atheist, Ayn Rand, Isn’t one of their goals to take God out of everything why would this be a bad thing..Who has given anything to the rich, they are paying for everything>>?? It makes sense his followers would believe this as they are the takers and do not understand taxes.. Who believes their lies.? They bring up things I find unbelievable all the time, like the elderly who Obamacare will decide if they are worthy of life, and fair share when he has a brother who lives in a hut..and Romney killing someone who lost their job when many have lost their jobs and insurance under Obama ..Don’t get me started on Fast and Furious..

Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage’s whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.
      Ayn Rand

  • white531

They make a good team. I believe they compliment one another. They also seem to like each other. Ryan’s budget represents the fiscal responsibility we need. He’s an attack dog on government spending. I think the combination of the two of them will present a unified front against an ever expanding national government. I did want a Military man on the ticket, but I will mention it no more. This is our team and we have to support them 110% from this day forward. Toward that end, we have to give them both the House and the Senate come November, so they can actually get something done.

  • anyonebutbarry2012

Romney’s Selection of Paul Ryan for Vice President is a Gamechanger

By picking Paul Ryan, the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Mitt Romney has cornered the market on the most important issue facing Americans today, the economic health of our nation and made it quite clear that he is willing to provide our economy with more than just lip service.

  • AustindPowers

i really wish we could put this whole 6 minute clip of Ryan pounding Obama at the healthcare summit into an ad… but i’m sure there are several segments here they should definately use. i’m excited now. Ryan was my first choice for VP.

  • poljunkie

I’m cautiously optimistic for the first time in over three years and I thank Romney for that. He chose Paul Ryan and that speaks volumes.

  • PFFV

Romney made a great choice in picking Paul Ryan, he is smart, articulate, and knows how to motivate true conservatives. Romney/Ryan 2012!

  • GEDouglas

    Excellent, EXCellent, EXCELLENT!

  • The biggest applause Paul Ryan received is when he stated in front of the USS Wisconsin these two lines from the Declaration Of Independence….” the people are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights,” ” that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,” Thomas Jefferson
” Rights are not granted by government but by God, and that all governments are beholden to the people, not the people to the government” Paul Ryan

  • ” And being here in this great state of Virgina. A state that most of us, and those of us who are Americans are indebted to. The cradle of so many of our Founding Fathers and presidents…George Washington 1st President 1789-97, Thomas Jefferson 3rd President 1801-9, James Madison 4th President 1809-17, James Monroe 5th President 1817-25, William Henry Harrison 9th President 1841 (April 4) Died in the White House in Washington DC, John Tyler 10th President 1841-45, Zachary Taylor 12th President 1849-50 (July 9) Died in Washington DC, Woodrow Wilson 28th President 1913-21.
One of the best said…” Our Rights come from nature and from natures God.” Thomas Jefferson They don’t come from government, That’s the idea of this country.” Paul Ryan
