Early on I remember many trying to differentiate between ISIS and even other terrorist organizations around the world. It was only Netanyahu who said on the world state that these terrorist groups, including ISIS, are all branches from the same tree.
Well since their inception, many terrorist groups have pledged their allegiance to ISIS and its new caliphate and I wanted to list them for you so there’s no confusion about who is ISIS and who isn’t:
- Jund al-Khilafah (Soldiers of the Caliphate, In North Africa)
- Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (North Africa)
- Ansar al-Shariah (Libya)
- Taliban (Pakistan)
- The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (Pakistan’s North Waziristan)
- Al-Tawhid Battalion (Pakistan, Afghanistan)
- Al-Nusra (Lebanon)
- Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (Yemen)
- Ansar al-Tawhid in the Land of Hind (India)
- Anṣār Bayt al-Maqdis (Sinai)
- Jund al-Khilafah (Egypt)
- Boko-Haram (Nigeria)
Walid Shoebat, who created the list above, points out that the increase in Islamic terrorism is directly related to these groups pledging allegiance to ISIS.
Terrorism isn’t going away, it’s going to increase and I just hope our federal and local law enforcement agencies are paying attention.
