I normally like to bring you good news. But at this point I can’t. Trump is basically at 1,000 delegates and is only 245 short of winning the nomination:
Cruz absolutely has his work cut out of him if he wants to keep Trump from winning either outright or on the first ballot of the convention. But don’t lose hope, as it’s still very possible to force this to a 2nd ballot at the convention.
Here’s the layout of what’s next in the elections:
Tuesday, May 3 -- 57 Delegates Total Indiana.......57 Delegates, Winner Take All*, Open Primary
*Congressional district delegates are allocated according to results in that district rather than statewide.
Tuesday, May 10 -- 70 Delegates Total Nebraska......36 Delegates, Winner Take All, Closed Primary W Virginia....34 Delegates, Direct Election, Open Primary
