Here’s the story behind that INSANE video of a woman SHOOTING an ARMED ROBBER

So yesterday a bunch of people started sharing a pretty amazing video of a woman who happened to have a gun on her when an armed thug tried to rob a bunch of people, including what looks like moms with their kids present.

She comes out of nowhere and tags him right in the chest, saving the day.

It’s pretty bad-ass – watch:

Now the problem is that some over-exuberant 2nd Amendment supporters are passing this off as happening in America. It wasn’t – unless you count South America. As it turns out, this was from Brazil.

That doesn’t discount its usefulness to show how being armed might help when you’re being attacked by a vicious evil thug, but there’s no sense lying about where it’s from.

Here’s an article about it – it’s translated from Spanish Portuguese, so it sounds a little off:

A military off duty police officer, who had gone to a Mother’s Day celebration at the school where her daughter is studying in Suzano , shot a suspect in front of the unit. According to the Military Police, the 21-year-old suspect was carrying a .38 caliber revolver and had already approached other mothers awaiting the opening of the gate, as well as having searched the school’s security to see if he was armed.

Still according to the PM, the police officer saw the move and heard a woman saying it was robbery. At this point, the police officer moved away, pulled out the gun and fired three times at the suspect.

Police also said that the suspect, who had already shot a shot that did not hit anyone, made a second shot, which failed. That was when the police officer approached the suspect. The suspect was rescued to the Santa Casa de Suzano, but it did not resist the injuries and it died.

The police officer is from the 4th Battalion of Special Police Actions, East Zone of the capital. The case was referred to the Suzano Central Police District.

The event was in front of the College Ferreira Master, private unit, which is in the neighborhood of Cruzeiro do Sul, Suzano. According to school officials, even after the commemoration of Mother’s Day was held and that, only after the end of the activities, the board will decide.

It probably was a clue to any keen-eyed observer that she was law enforcement by the way she treated him after shooting him, and how she quickly took over the situation and kicked away his weapon. I think a “regular” person might not have took charge as well or as easily. In any case, it’s still a badass video. Kudos to the lady.
