Hilarious and Brutal: Romney kills at the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner

Tonight was the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner where the candidates take a humorous break from the campaign trail. But I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny Romney was as he delivered line after line, mostly about the president. In fact he landed some pretty hard blows on the president, namely one where in using the Sesame Street reference he said that President Obama’s remarks “are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 Trillion.” Ouch! And there’s a lot more where that came from.

My bet is that even though it was all in good fun, the left is going to hate it and will try and make something out of it. Maybe they’ll put all the jokes the didn’t like in a binder or something.

Note: Obama just finished his remarks and it wasn’t nearly as pointed. His was much more self-deprecating and a lot flatter. Romney clearly bested him tonight.

This was so funny! Romney was absolutely awesome!

    • I really was surprised at how hard I laughed and how good Romney’s comedic timing was!

    • BlueGood

OMFG = O’Buma bin Lyin Must GO!….That was SOooooooooo GREAT

I’m counting on good American People like my Dear friend Marie in Oklahoma going ALL IN for Romney!

What a delightful and ZINGING SPEECH!

So many points aimed, so many darts fired, so many BULLSEYES!!!!!

O’Buma bin Lyin is going DOWN!!!!!

      😀 GRIN!!!!

    • Sounds as though Dennis Miller wrote his speech! Loved it!

      • tvlgds

He probably did- he’s on the road with him!

        • Yeah I thought the same but Romney did have fantastic timing.

          • tvlgds

He did! I thought his delivery was perfect!! Nice to see that side of him.

      • I thought the same thing last night. It had a Dennis Miller sound to it.

Loved the “brought to you by the letter O and the number- 16 trillion.

Every line was perfect. He hit on everything. – No wonder he’s winning !

    • librtifirst

I couldn’t help but wonder what Romney thought of his speech when he first read it. Did he laugh out loud?

    • Romney roasted Obama.

      • That’s an understatement! Obama’s pompous ass was burnt to ashes!

      • factsobill

Had a freaking luau he did!

    • Rightstuff1

I have not laughed this hard for a long time… Thank you President Romney !!!!

  • Steven

Wow, he had some edgy stuff! Kudos to his campaign for the material and kudos to Romney for the great delivery! Anytime Romney is on the same stage with Obama to be contrasted at this point is a big, big plus! Romney is looking good! Looking real good!

    • Jazzee

And Mrs Romney looked so beautiful classy woman

  • Lou

Romney roasted Obama and the main stream media BAD!What a great sense of humor.

  • That redistribution joke was rich.

    • iHeartLife

      Rich with shame for zero.

  • XXIIFan

I watched this live, and Romney and Obama were both funny but Romney took the prize, IMHO.

    • XXIIFAN, would you say Romney hit it out of the park, yet AGAIN??? lol, I certainly would!! Loved it.

      • XXIIFan

Yes, I would say he hit it out of the park! If he does as well on Monday we may be able to put this one away. GO ROMNEY RYAN!!!

  • Where was Obama’s wife tonight?

    • Richard Easbey

Biting the head off a bat is my guess.

      • gunclinger

        Oh, MAN!

You just made me spit coffee on my keyboard!!

    • WinMissouri

At the WH, writing up the new school lunch program for the next four years.

      • kajunredbull

        What??? For HER own kids!!!!

        • Ariadnea

Nice guess, but wrong. It’s for Obama’s meal program for the rest of his life, if he’s unelected!

      • IwjwI

She is hanging with Bob Beckle lamenting the, “It’s over,” poll numbers.

        • while sipping leftover watered down red wine.

      • I’m upset that I missed gov control of my ingestion & 2nd guessing my parents.
Geez, what size would I be, rather than 6′-1″, 200 lbs, 14% bodyfat? I could be emaciated, disgruntled & prone to gun violence due to excessive gov coercion. Their policies were just too late for the collective/others to build me.

        • randall hayden, LOL, your post is funny!! I feel the same way!

      • WinMissouri – I ‘Liked’ what you said, NOT what she is doing!!! GRRRR!.
Mrs. Romney will rewrite that program when she gets there! After feeding five boys all these years, I’m sure she has served up a lot of hamburgers and french fries!! Yum,yum!!

    • Orangeone

Perhaps with Hitlary since Oprah has abandoned them.

      • 3seven77

Oprah didn’t abandon them. Moochelle & ValJar kicked Oprah to the curb. Couldn’t handle the competition.

    • badbadlibs

Yep, I can’t call her the “first lady” either. For the first time in my life I am NOT proud of the wife of the POTUS.

      • StandingGround

Well, me too, bblibs, but I wasn’t too proud of Hellery either! They both came out of the same bat cave to me.

        • badbadlibs

          You have a point!

      • I can’t call anyone first lady— it all just rings of monarchy. We don’t have a friggin Royal Couple. She’s the President’s wife and nothing more. They should have zero involvement in policy anywhere……they’re not elected as a couple or a tag-team.

        • PicklePlants

Yes! – Yes! – Yes! Stewie!

There is not authority for her to do ANYTHING. Barbara and Laura Bush were (are) advocates for a cause. Nothing more. Nothing less.

And I would feel the exact same way if the President were female.

      • your not alone

    • Michelle Obama might be planning her departure & whom to hook up with — maybe a completely straight & honest person — nah, lefty lawyers like similar to selves — deceitful & crap.

    • goromney1

O’s wife is home filling up the U-Haul.

    • goromney1

O’s wife could not attend tonight. She is much too busy packing up the U-Haul.

    • Did anyone miss her? I’d say ‘NO’.

    • Gary Amstutz

My guess to the question, where was Michelle?…Since one of the cable news network channels (guess which one!?) uncovered the fact that Michelle broke one of the ‘rules’ during the debate on Tuesday night (she ‘clapped’ during the debate, but was told not to at anytime during the debate!), my guess is that this whoopsie got her in trouble with Barry. Two nights later, he didn’t invite her to attend the Alfred E Smith dinner with him… 🙂

      • PicklePlants

Me thinks you overestimate BHO’s bravery.

    • I’m sure didn’t want to be in that room with so many ‘white people’!

  • Mechan8

And that is how it’s done…..Well done Mitt….well done,

  • odin147

The best jokes have the most truth in them, and the truth always hurts the left.

    • odin147 – At one point, I caught a quick glimpse of obama’s face. He was not laughing.
He was livid!! Then he realized the camera might be on him and he quickly flashed that donkey smile that he is soooooo famous for!

      • tvlgds

        I noticed that too!

      • sybilll

This is my favorite pic that Tammy Bruce captured, about which she said “Obama looking at Romney as tho he knows this is the man ending his party” http://twitpic.com/b5dwr4

        • Patriot077

Did you catch Katie Couric’s face when he was pointing out the media spinners’ bias? The Fox/Hannity banner blocks her in this vid, but she was none too happy even when she made the effort to smile.

No sympathy here; plenty of satisfaction!

        • tvlgds

I haen’t seen Tammy Bruce in ages. I like her.

      • 5;23 – Obama’s face is buried in his cup. Smiles only after person next to him makes a comment

7:39 – Obama’s face is buried in his cup…again. Did not smile.

7:57 – Obama has a small smile on his face…looks like it is a forced smile.

  • smmy33

That was good and funny.. Romney has a great voice….. The audience seemed pro Romney.

  • Orangeone

The only thing nicer than a handsome guy in a dress white shirt and jeans is that same guy in a tux. WTG Mitt! Now, let’s see the next VP in a tux 🙂

    • conwis

      At the Inauguration, Orangeone!

      • Orangeone

And how I would love to attend!

        • IwjwI

          I am.

          • What, you are invited to the celebration in Washington??? I am sooooo jealous.
but I will be partying it up at the National Republican Headquarters in Florida.
            Can’t flipping wait!!!

          • Orangeone

    • CentralFlaGirl

And all the ladies said, “Amen!!”

    • that would be nice ryan in a tux

  • 777watcher

I loved it. Romney was great. Obama had afew funnies, but in comparison, Romney was the headliner after the jokes were read. Very clever writing for Romney. Delivered very impressively.

  • LeonidasOfSparta1957

LOLOL whodda thunk he has this ability! Loved the “brought to you by the letter O and the number 16trillion” and “polls indicate Romney ahead and Obama leading from behind”

  • I find these gatherings of elites to be unseemly. These are supposed to be public servants.

    • Steven

I disagree! It is what’s the best of this country! That two opposition candidates can share the same stage without killing each other is great. The day we can’t do this is the day our democracy dies!

      • it was nice to see, and we had a few laughs..it took alot of tension away..it could be just me but it was fun

    • It is done for Charity. The Catholic church raises about 5 million dollars from this event.

You know they use to to serve 25% of all sick people in the USA, mostly for free.

Unless of course, Obama’s war against Catholics prevails and then they will be closing shop.

So of course taxes will go up, there will be lack of services for the sick.

      Yeah Obama.

    • freenca

Public servants yes. Elites, NO. That’s why we are writing here, to keep them public servants and not elites.

    • “Unseemly”? Jose can’t you see? It is for CHARITY where partisan differences are set aside for one night in the interest of helping those less fortunate than ourselves. However I suspect Jose, that if it had somehow been Obama knocking it out of the park with such priceless material, you would have been dancing in circles with an imaginary Candy Crowley.

Oops. Haven’t seen you come back Jose, Candy must have stepped on your toes. I’ll call you a “toe truck” (cymbal crash, ‘hey, don’t forget to tip your server, I’ll be here all weekend!’)

  • I’m willing to bet Dennis Miller helped write a lot of those jokes when he was out on the trail with him yesterday. It certainly seemed a lot like his humor, but Mitt really nailed them. I laughed out loud more than once.

    • MagyarKishka

Great point, Miller had to have a hand in those jokes, they were a riot! I LOL too, and I never laugh 🙂

      • time to check yahoo and see what those idiots have to say

        • Ron

They will say like always: cliches, lies and distortions! They are completely deranged:-)

    • freenca

Mitt came across with more class than The Harvard Law Review! Hahaha!

      • Can’t wait to see how the Huff Post spin this!!! That may be kinda funny too, it’s always funny to watch libs squirm..!!

        • The headline could read, “Romney politicizes fundraiser event”

        • freenca

Yeah, we’ll see in the morning! Squirming looks good on them! Makes them look like the worms they are.

  • drphibes

I may have given myself a hernia, laughing so hard.

  • 911Infidel

Brought to you by the letter “O” and the number “16 Trillion.” That was freaking funny.

    • iHeartLife

And the big bird didn’t see it coming. The goose Obama, I mean.

      • 911Infidel

I dunno. Yellow birds elicit memories of the old ‘yellow bird’ Jodie call.

        • iHeartLife

LOL! I looked it up. Don’t think too much 🙂

  • LdyDesign

Leadership with class! He definitely got their attention. You could hear a pin drop at the end.

  • 777watcher

Reply to Jose who finds this unseemly?

It is a charity fundraiser. People with money go to give money ding dong.

    Politicians are guests, not hosts.

    It was great.

So it is ok for Hollywood to have parties and charities, but these guys cant attend the like…you seem out of touch.

Bravo Romney!! He ‘mitt’ slapped Obama with humor and grace

    • colliemum

      “Mitt slapped” – love it!

  • conservocop

Hey all you rino’s – can we hear it for style points !! It’s going to be a proud day for all patriotic Americans when this man walks into the oval office !!

    • GiantM

      Hear! Hear!

  • wales777

    OMG! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL FUNNY!
Little Barry is getting CREAMED in every way for the first time…

  • ChicksLoveRight

No wonder I love this guy!! Obama was funny but very contrived, Romney was funny and so so gracious!!

  • sandyfromchesterfield

    That was awesome!

  • LeonidasOfSparta1957

He’s so gracious. As is his lovely bride. With the knife wielding, vitriol spewing, haters in the media, on The View (there’s a name. What view? THEIR view ONLY or they’ll put out your eyes!) as well as in the WH, Mitt and Ann shine with that rare quality so precious and so lacking in the world– a reflection of the “amazing grace” that comes to each of us from God alone.

    • CentralFlaGirl

Absolutely true! Ann looked so beautiful tonight! She reminded me of Jackie Kennedy when she was in the white house! Elegant and yes gracious! It’s going to be a good next four years! Probably hard to repeal and overcome the damage already done, but good none the less.

I think what the leftest hate most about Romney, is his HUMBLE spirit. It’s call meekness, not weakness. Big difference!

      Go Romney / Ryan!!!!!

      • LeonidasOfSparta1957

Yes! Blessed are the meek, indeed and in speech. It is not weakness it is strength that is God centered not selfcentered. Dummelow Commentary says that blessedness involves “standing in right relation to God.” I think Mitt and Ann do that which translates into a natural grace.
        Hilary Bryant
        Sorry for any misspellings

  • poljunkie

Oh the Joe Biden joke. Too funny.

    • keyesforpres

I loved it when he said Biden laughs at everything and the “I’m Mitt Romney and I approve this message”.

  • MagyarKishka

I LOVED THIS! Soooo Funny! Glad it’s up already, so I can send my friends who missed it!

  • BabyMal

That line about Biden was hilarious!!!

    • GiantM

Yet again…..I ROFL at that one.

  • 777watcher

You know Obama hated his seating arrangement. Right next to Catholic Cardinal Dolan and Mitt Romney. All side by side. Loved it, Obama got laughed at, but it was all what everyone really thinks all wrapped in a joke.

    • badbadlibs

I like how Romney gave a shout out to the unborn!

  • SunnyJS

He rocked it. Put up billboards of Gov in white tie and tails…end war on women overnight!

    • sunnyjs – Yep, even us old biddies got a little excited tonight watching Romney!
Wow, sexxxxxxxie!! Loved it, loved it, just plain loved it!!!

  • wales777

What a class act. He is our next President!

  • poljunkie

Youre better off now than you were four weeks ago!!!

    ha ha

  • 777watcher

The printed dailogue will be a keeper.

  • are u gonna post the obama one?

    • Corey Shively – NOPE!

    • keyesforpres

Nah, that’s why it’s called the RIGHT Scoop. Not the WRONG Scoop.

  • badbadlibs

You know why it’s so funny, right? Because it is all true! Nothing is funnier then the truth!

  • 777watcher

Romney was very handsome tonight. I agree that image should be seen more often. Really nice and distinguished.

    • IwjwI

Ann looked fabulous, too. Elegant couple.

  • Wigglesworth111

Hilarious! This just shows you how much funnier late night comedy could be if they weren’t all in the tank for Obama. There is so much material.

    • conservocop

Great point. I wonder, … does Letterman have any idea how pathetic he looks and sounds when is constantly shilling for Obama and his surrogates ?!!

  • SineWaveII

“Polls show obama leading from behind” LOL

    • GiantM

I know…I had to stabilize my chair at that point!!…lol

      • SineWaveII

Are you sure you weren’t sitting on “obama” maybe he didn’t care for that joke and was trying to toss you off.

  • Orangeone

Scoop – won’t that be a colored binder? I picked that up on Twitchy.

  • Thank you scoop, this is one of the most entertaining videos I have seen in a long time.

  • underconstantatack

This is GREAT~Laughed hard and out loud. I have to say, his presents himself so graceful every time I have seen him. Hard when he needs to be yet seems to really be sincere when he talks of family and caring about others, in a very graceful combination. Loved the humorous side of him. I thought O was gonna choke on his repeated coffee cup sips. It looked difficult for O to force that “smile” after his look of aggravation/despair (maybe it was sitting around all the Christians, idk). I thoroughly enjoyed that video~very funny. Go Romney!

  • President Romney hit it out of the park!!!

    • badbadlibs

I like how you type! 😉

    • Ron

Romney ought to be batting for the yankees clean-up but, to late now:-0

  • GiantM

Without question this night will go in the history books as time when Obama was literally sucker punched and with justified purpose.

Romney should the world what dignified leader sounds like. Almost Reagan-ish I must say. He not only sound like the Great Orator, he even presented that distinct sway his of his head just as Reagan did.

2 minutes in and I couldn’t stop laughing. I am positive the Obama was fuming but held a smile none the less.

This was priceless. Thanks Mitt. Now I can sleep well one more night!

    • conservocop

Well candy give Obama the last word Tuesday night and he sucker punched Mitt. Tonight Mitt got his shot and it was a haymaker !! Paybacks are hell !!!

    • Betsey_Ross

It’s going to make Monday the best. Romney has stepped up to save America.

  • Proud American

Was that a dinner or barbeque party?

    • GiantM

Neither. I believe we could easily designate this event as a “A**-Whooping”

      • goromney1

The classiest a** whopping I have ever witnessed. I laughed so hard I had to use my asthma inhaler. (the first use this year).

  • underconstantatack

Loved the press remarks! haha I gotta re-watch and laugh again!

  • Fabulous! Just LOVE it!

  • The sad part is every joke was grounded in cold hard facts. The zero is a loser.

  • I turned down the volume when zero spoke. His voice makes me nauseous.

  • gacresred

Awesome! Reminds me of some of President Bush’s speeches at similar events. This man is going to be our next President. We so badly need need a President with some class once again.

  • freenca

The Romney/Ryan Team is going to be the best thing to happen to
America in A long, long Time,IMO! They have many ideas that will bring our economy into a visionable allignment of debt to profit ratio!! YAY!
So many on the left do not see the big picture!

    • iHeartLife

Yes, R&R will – get this – know what they’re doing. The lefties only see themselves and what is best for themselves.

      • freenca

Sometimes I wonder IF they really know what is best for themselves. Then they pretend to know what is best for all others. The lefties do not make the allowances that a free society requires to maintain freedom for all of it’s citizens, that’s what we must convey!

  • Romney killed! I think he was told he was at a ROAST.

  • 1vote

Not the most important, but, some might just enjoy having some real class
    in the White-house once again.

  • lovetheusa1234

Mitt was hilarious; great delivery. Great guy!

  • Many a truth is said in jest.

  • DINORightMarie

Unbelievable! It was like watching Bob Hope and Ronald Reagan up there! Laughing so hard, I’m crying!!

Very, very good zingers. And very presidential.

    • 3seven77

It really was. I miss Bob Hope. And Red Skelton. And Reagan’s gentle humor. Class acts all.

  • Stunning!

  • iHeartLife

    That. Was. AWESOME!
*My sides. Oh my aching sides…ROFLMFAO!

  • poljunkie

That was just an incredible delivery by Gov Romney.

  • Awesome. I wonder if he could pull those out more often.

  • dabbobean

    Bravo Governor!…..well played sir.

  • “So little time and so much left to redistribute!”

Ha! Let the man-child cry in his coco puffs with that thought! But then I read how much he will be getting even after he is kicked out it really makes you think this whole procedure must change! There is no way we should be expected to continue to fund this man’s extravagances and vacations! Treasonous!!

    • freenca

COOL! Good call Joel! Not needing the Gov. teat is a testament to the free market system that works !

    • keyesforpres

I hope Obama will be prosecuted for the usurper that he is….he needs to spend the rest of his life in jail. Along with everyone who helped him usurp the office. We must not let him get away with this. He needs to be prosecuted.

      • SoLongSong

The most important thing for me is that he just LEAVES ON SCHEDULE. While I too hate to see him get one red cent, it’s money well spent to have him GET OUT OF THE WAY.

        • keyesforpres

Not good enough. That means he gets away with it and it means someone else can usurp the office. This must not stand. Everything he’s signed is null and void, as are his supreme appointments. They must be removed from the bench.

      • Ron

Prosecute and transfer to Gitmo for trial!

    • did you guys know that romeny is going to give his salary to charity

      • keyesforpres

Maybe he could give it towards our national debt! Or give it to me!

  • gothicreader

That was awesome. Especially, at the end when he speaks the truth about what The Catholic Church represents.

  • ROFLMAO!! Never thought I’d say that about one of Mitt’s speeches—ok, it wasn’t exactly a speech, but still he was tremendous! Hope this gets replayed a lot on TV….oh wait, foolish notion, only Fox will show it….

  • Awesome, hitting major points, w/writing partially similar to Saturday Nite Lefty & Daily Scum, but using reality to make real points, rather than the usual twisting & misunderstanding as their leftist bent does. Although, each of them have had segments that really make fun of & point out missteps of the Barry Admin.

  • Mitt was awesome and so funny !

  • And you know Bammy was seething with all these remarks!! He may smile but he does not deal well with someone poking fun at him in any way!! No way to treat the Messiah!! You’ll burn for this….or just have 150 IRS agents come to your door!!

  • Marty Sullivan

If those jokes came from Dennis Miller, that’s some of his best material ever! But Romney couldn’t have been better in his delivery! Another home run! And more proof that Romney is far from being the villain the BO campaign wanted us to believe.

    • iHeartLife

Yes, I agree! Romney has shown in his business career and as Gov. of Mass, and even at the Olympics, that he thrives on a challenge, taking whatever is failing and doing what it takes to make it successful and prosperous. The greatest thing about that is he does it as a team leader, not as a dictator. He and Ryan will be great.

  • Very well done by Mitt, great material and excellent delivery , “this economy is brought to you by the letter O and the number 16trillion”, that was gold

  • I loved the way he gave the media a good butt kicking , he was just so funny, made my week. I saw him at a rally a few weeks ago, he is a very humble man. Cant wait to call Mitt Romney Mr President .

  • ZING! So good I watched it twice. That’s 3 meetings Romney took Obama to school and gave him an F in Freedom.

  • Some biting, critical, satirical objection that can be viewed as offensive because it exposes the illegitimacy in policies.

Isn’t that against some made-up rules?

    • keyesforpres

      It’s unconstitutional! Just ask Chrissy!

  • goromney1

Someone asked where Obama’s wife was tonight. Mrs. O. Is home packing up the U-Haul

    • dontdrinkthecoolaid

Yep, just like the clintons did when they took White House property that wasn’t their’s

    • Not U-Haul, probably the; Yabba Dabba Doo Moving & Storage Co. with special discounts for fellow Yabba Dabba’s.

  • GiantM

Don’t wanta step on your toes RS but I’m sure most wanta see the “Obama Version”.

    • p m

      Thanks for the link, Giant.
      Another self-serving ‘I-I-I’ speech. What a pr**k, pardon language.

    • 3seven77

Obama was terrible. It’s always all about him. And Obama dragged out bin Laden’s body for the what, 10,000th time? Pitiful.

      • what he said about Binladin was good…give the man his due…he was ok tonight…romeny was better but o was ok

    • colliemum

Thanks for the link – couldn’t bear to watch it to the end.
Yes, it was lame, and it was all about ‘I-I-I, me-me-me’.
      Not funny.

  • So, this dinner was for the depiction of the incompetent, bumblefuk character Alfred E. Neuman, whom is like the WH resident?

  • loriannringold

This video was well needed. Romney knows just when to laugh and when to be serious. I am so happy and honored that this MAN will be our next President.

  • Shery Hancock

What a hoot! WOW! I am waiting to hear Rush tomorrow! This will be a good talkfest topic for days! Go, ROMNEY! Very pointed humor, but with a gracious exit, as well! Wonder what the libs will be saying?

  • Sober_Thinking

What a funny and brilliant moment for Mitt.

Sadly, you’re right, the LSM will try to harm him over this. However, most Americans will see this for what it is and laugh. Mitt’s no monster… Obama is. I bet Obama wants to come and take a swing at him now… gasp, I shouldn’t have said that. 🙂

  • Sober_Thinking

    I think NYGino is writing Mitt’s funnies… I’m just sayin… 🙂

  • That speech was just SENSATIONAL!! Not only was it funny, but it “hit the right targets” and was brilliantly delivered, too. It really reminded me of the late Bob Hope’s monologues, too.

  • Brilliant performance by a formerly perceived stoic candidate!

  • Landscaper

Great jokes, very funny but he closed it with “Class”. To do that you have to have class in the first place.

    • colliemum

      You got it!

  • dontdrinkthecoolaid

ROMNEY KILLED IT. ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT with poise, elan and stinging political humor.

  • WOW! I am absolutely bowled over. Mitt Romney knocked it out of the park with those remarks, poking fun at himself, -and- at Barack Obama, and let’s be honest about it: he was gracious, good humored, appealed to the better nature in all of us and without a doubt he was most certainly PRESIDENTIAL.

  • stage9

    This was very funny.

The evening is brought to you by the letter “O” and 16 trillion.

  • sjmom

Romney was very good; very funny and I was somewhat surprised he was able to deliver his jokes so well.

  • I seem to recall Dennis Miller using a sesame street line very similar to that. Perhaps Miller gave Mitt some good humor gloves. Good times!

  • nibblesyble

Surprisingly funny..go Gov! er-too bad Couric is in the back ground..ugh

    • p m

Didn’t see that piece there – thank goodness. Won’t be looking for her either. Thanks for the warning, nibbles:)

(Wasn’t he great? Gonna download and keep this one.)

      • nibblesyble

you kill me p m! lol!

    • 3seven77

Couric is like skunk odor. She never goes away.

    • PhillyCon

So that is her. I thought so. Can’t stand her.

  • Very funny zingers and at the end he was very humble and nice toward the president.

    • cathmom

  • denbren52

I enjoyed listening to every second of that! He is already sounding like a great President!

    And a great comedian! : )

  • Just brilliant, on point and incredible!

  • Oh my goodness I laughed so hard. I only hope Mitt has this level of concentration and timing on his last debate with President Obama. Tonight was entertaining and really wowed me. I hope his performance is just as good next week.

  • tvlgds

I never thought Mitt Romney could make me laugh hysterically, but he did. I have tears rolling down my face. Definitely Miller’s hand in there!

    • famouswolf

Wow. I laughed my self off.

Better and better and better. This guy ain’t who or what the media has been saying he is for a while now.

Y’all know who he looks like, though? An actor who played lots of swashbucklers and adventure movies back in the fifties, including ‘King Solomon’s Mines’, ‘Scaramouche’ and many others. The late Stewart Granger. Spitting image tonite.

  • redheadgrl

on the CSPAN version of this video, you can see Chris Matthews behind Mitt Romney’s shoulder. He is looking at Obama the WHOLE time. Idol worship at its finest.

  • Just heard Obama’s attempt, he flubbed the first line then it was just lame and embrassing, especially the Matthews thrill up the leg. Reminded everyone about his days at Man’s Club. eww

  • librtifirst

I was watching some videos of Reagan’s humor last night. It is good to have a break, and a good laugh. Though Romney did rip Obama good.

  • Jazzee

Mr Romney hit it out of the park…too funny
obama was angry again and childlike

  • 777watcher

Everyone should email / twitter, etc. this video to everyone they know. Literally get it on Youtube , everywhere. Send it to every college age voter you know.

    It will help Mitt.

Tell them how funny it is, a much watch.

    • wodiej

  • Ranger1325

Was that the Judge cracking up after every joke?

  • Pyrran

    Dare I say it?
Mitt looked pretty Presidential to me!

yep, I dare. Because he does.

  • Medaton

    Very classy!!

  • p m

As our Joe would say BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Guess this is called ‘Sine Vino Veritas’.
One shot after another, perfect delivery and looking very good, very Presidential and dare I say it, handsome. Great applause, some real guffaws, O’care in Latin, press hiding his positive plan – FANTASTIC. Real laugh out loud stuff. Loved it. Big thanks as usual for posting it Scoop. Going to re-watch and then save it. Thank you.

  • Chad Jackson

MSNBC has already tried to spin it as Romney being mean and directly joking more times about the President than the President did about him….

    They know they have lost….

    • poljunkie

Ya Right- Maddow and Lawerence O Donnell and Shultz can make cutting remarks about Gov Romney EVERY night, but when Romney does an in jest routine ( even though it rang true) they take issue with it.

How many events like this did Pres Bush sit thru, when a comedian delivered the jokes, always at his expense? And always accepted it in good humor, and with a smile!

    • Carabella1

Then why are you people whining?

  • Marty Sullivan

You’d have thought Obama would have done better tonight. After all, he’s done a great job of running an administration that’s just one big joke!

  • The Romney’s are classy and Govenor Romney hit the jackpot. He was terrific. BTW, where was Michelle?

Loved it!! Sure little 0 was seething. He can’t take any joke, much less what Romney was slinging tonight.

    • Didn’t see M.O. maybe she was back at the White House packing 😉

  • sandynsavannah

Thank you, Mr. Romney, hopefully….prayerfully… my future president, I can’t wait to vote for you.

  • Malkiel_kol_hakavod_la_el

Good speech with many funny moments… A President one can be proud of…. Not ashamed of or despise whole heartily… Good speech President Romney….. May president Barack Hussein Obama for all time forward be a after thought as he was tonight….

  • Watchman74

That was an Obama roast. 😀

    • Carabella1

      Not so much, hon.

  • Awesome…

In timing and delivery Romney is as efficient as Reagan in delivering a punchline.

  • WaitOneMinute

I’ve read many articles and comments some time back and earlier in his campaign that he is a lot of fun to work with. People that have worked with him over the years say he is really funny. I guess he can pull some rather funny pranks.

    • PVG

I was listening to the Dennis Miller on the radio today, he was talking about being “on the road” with the “Mittster”. He said that Mitt is indeed a happy warrior, solid, steady, gracious, and FUNNY! He said they were in stitches for most of the day because of Mitt.

      • Dennis was in Ft Myers FL tonight with Paul Ryan .. I couldn’t go but I heard the traffic was backed up 😉

  • RestlessLegs

Besides laughing pretty hard, both my wife and I noticed something very important about Romney tonight – he is looking and sounding like a winner. There is an air of confidence about him. As my wife said, “He finally looks like he’s comfortable in his own skin.” Voters are seeing that.

    • Carabella1

      Meh… Not so much.

    • wodiej

      I agree totally.

  • indthinker

Fabulously funny! So enjoyable. My hubby missed it but I knew TRS would post it. He can laugh through his first cup of coffee this morning.
Also, Mrs. Romney looked so elegant, as a First Lady should. Whenever I hear her talk, I find myself smiling. Anybody else find themselves doing that?
Cannot wait for the election to be over. Even a longer wait til January.
On the downside, Obama probably has his lawyers ready to dispute his loss.
Keep asking God to smile on the Romney and guide him through to be our next president.
He makes me proud, as does Ryan.
By the way … what was that about shooting first and aiming later? Romney hit his target.

My 89 year old mother called and she watched it on the rerun of Hannity and thought Gov Romney did amazing. She thought Obama was flat.

    • p m

Smart lady – but we knew that cos we read her smart daughter’s excellent comments! 🙂

      • poljunkie

        Thank you!!! pm.
        Great night, isnt it?

        • p m

The best, pol. Can’t wait for the inaugural balls – they will look fantastic. Can’t wait for the stock market to zoom on November 7th either!

      • Carabella1

        Stupid old woman.

        • p m

You still talking about Moochelle, libturd?

  • PVG

“Biden will laugh at anything”……TOUCHE’ Mitt! Thanks Scoop, just what the Dr. ordered!

  • That was amazing, I really saw a little of Reagan in him..

  • He had a very Reagan-like delivery! And he was very funny!

    • Carabella1

      Mittens is no Reagan.

      • Troll alert! Scoop, time to break out the paddle and whoop her on the obama.

      • Neither am I. But I can do a Reagan-like delivery. So what?

      • shukov

        Are you sure about that?

  • Well gosh, Mitt Romney did spend alot of time with Dennis Miller .. perhaps he picked up some pointers about timing and one liners. He was brilliant tonight. Well done, class act.

  • Funny, 4 years ago at the Smith Dinner, Obama said ” McCain says if we talk about the economy he will lose, so tonight, I want to talk about the economy”…oh how times have changed.

  • Mike Lee

His best material were the two jokes aimed at the press. Perfect.

  • Romney was Reaganesque; a brilliant performance. Obama jokes were stale and weak. He looked dejected…

  • Carabella1

Fucking really? This was a bipartisan venue, not a pointedly political one. Mittens can’t tell a joke without looking like he’s had a gallbladder attack. You people are delusional.

  • I especially liked the way Romney made each point…rather pointedly and with that…”Wait, there’s more!” HAHAHA! This was terrific to behold…yes, indeed 🙂

  • wodiej

omg….lol. Unbelievable-he made a laughing stock of obama. Definitely a great side to Romney. And people thought he was too nice. Wonderful to watch, thanks for posting.

“you strive to bring God’s love into every life.” Amen.

  • You know emperor 0bama lost when he’s forced to talk crap about himself wayyy more often.

  • SoLongSong

This was a downright HOOT! Watched it last night and again this morning. I even (gulp!) watched Obama, and just like the debates, he didn’t look like he was having any fun.

Unlike Mitt! “Finally, we get to wear white-tie like we do at home!”

Funny and elegant and classy with a biting wit. It doesn’t get any better than that! Thank you Mitt, you’ll be a GREAT president.

    • wodiej

I skipped obama. I didn’t want to ruin the moment.

  • you are absolutely righ!

  • leel004

I think he just sealed the election with that ending of his. Thank you Mr. president ! Looking forward to a President Romney

  • Well, that was a decent clobberin’ and no mistake.

I loved the “Don Rickles” close, too. Whoever advised or wrote that is definitely a pro comedy writer. I’m guessing Evan Sayet.

  • colliemum

    One word: Fa-bu-lous!

  • great job! Obama didn’t do too badly himself!

  • OMG!! THIS IS one of the FUNNIEST things I have seen in a LONG time!!!!!!GO ROMNEY!!!

  • kong1967

I am extremely impressed!! That was hilarious all the way through.

His attack on the press was priceless!!! The Clinton joke was brutal and I’d be willing to bet the Michelle is ranting and raving pi**ed off about it.

    I give it 11 stars.

    • Wisewoman2

You know she said she wanted to scratch Bill clinton’s eyes out during OBama’s campaign against Hillary. Can you imagine what she wants to do to Romney?

      • kong1967

Lol, and I don’t blame here. It was pretty brutal. I thought it was going to be the one time it was going to be nice, but BAM! It was still hilarious.

  • Rocco11

“So little time, so much to redistribute.” lol

  • I wish he would have brought Joe Biden along…. that guy will laugh at anything! <- I LOL'd on that one.

  • I was surprised that Romney had such good timing. He looks like he has a good sense of humor. He’s going to need it if he gets stuck with the job of cleaning up Obama’s mess.

  • AmyInWI

Not watching and I know I sound like a kill-joy here… but this crap chaps my [email protected]@. I realize this is a long-time ‘inside the beltway’ tradition but there’s nothing funny about what’s going on in this country. The POTUS & most of the dem’s behavior is tantamount to treason. How do you put that aside and share a venue where you joke around and ‘roast’ each other. This is what we tea partiers hate about DC and why they all look like they are part of the same big club.

    • Juan_Rico

Lighten up Francis. It’s all done for charity and he got some really good digs in on Obama and the press. Obama had a couple of funny lines, but he mostly looked uncomfortable and awkward. This will go a long way towards dispelling the image the left has painted of Romney being some kind of stiff and socially awkward geek. If it get’s a few more undecided people to vote for Romney, how is that a bad thing?

      • AmyInWI

I don’t feel like lightening up, thanks… Over the last month, I’ve been running the numbers for my 2013 budget – they suck. This is due to my & my husbands tax options for next year, my health insurance rates for next year and the upward trending of my food/energy bills. Balance that with the regulations coming down the pipe for the business I work for and the regulations coming down the pipe that are affecting my husband’s own business and I’m just not in a laughing mood. I have both freaking parties to blame for it too. I get pissed watching them yuck it up with each other – even if it is for charity.

I’m in a foul, freaking mood and probably shouldn’t have posted at all – but there it is – my reason for being a kill-joy…

        • poljunkie

I hear you Amy- about all the $ hikes. We are having the same financial dificulties in our life in regards to health insurance, taxes, utilities, groceries, + helping our son, and 89 year old mom. Then on top of everything, yesterday we found out our dog needs surgery. (Almost sounds like a country song!!)

Whille I totally agree with you about disliking the President mingling with the Press like at the correspondents dinner. I always hated Pres Bush going there because the press was brutal to him, and he was so gracious to them

In this case- Gov Romney used his time to “take down” the media and provide messaging on Obama. He said everything he would have liked to have put in a campaign ad to a room full of big shots, with perfect delivery, class, and received a standing oviation.

  • Psyphurr Lock

Early morning at the office and this got me going. Very well done! Wonderful speach mixed with solid (pointed) humor. BRAVO!!

  • Incredible!!!

  • Incredible! Hillarious and right on all the way to the end!

  • bongobear

Awesome…in my opinion he was Reaganesque in his delivery. I can envision the Gipper delivering those lines just as Romney did.

    • shukov

Just told my wife the same thing.

  • NCHokie02

truly hilarious. I was surprised how funny he was. Loved the sesame st line..”The Presidents remarks are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 Trillion.” Awesome.

  • iaintlyin

(in 2013 in the Capital Building, for his first State of the Union Speech)

    …Mr Speaker,
the President of the United States of America,

  • Philo Beddoe

Are the two men behind Romney Wade Rathke of ACORN and Soros?

  • JohnBarry2012

Truly hilarious! The story is all more inspiring with Obama’s socialist principle on apostle St. Peter’s critics: “If you got a church — you didn’t built that.”

  • 1217Chic

Ann looked beautiful……What happend to Wookie??????

    • indthinker

      I can’t stop laughing!

  • Gov.Romney throwing split finger fast ball zingers at obama, all without a teleprompter.
What a great way to start out the day. TGIF:That God It’s Friday.
OWABOT: obama will be a one termer.

  • PhillyCon

Romney had a number a zingers that had to hurt O.

  • Escapee1

WONDERFUL speech delivered with PERFECT timing!

  • PhillyCon

Romney is right, “there is more to life than politics.” But unfortunately, b/c of statist intervention into our daily lives, it is becoming our life.

When someone is denied life saving treatment, how is that not politics dominating life?

  • Constance

I laughed out loud a few times there. Good one, Gov. Romney.

    • indthinker

My hubby went to bed early so I knew he’d view this when he got up today. He hasn’t laughed like this in years. He laughed so hard I thought he’d drop a lung!
      We loved it.

  • azjazzlady

That is one very handsome (and funny) man right there! We are so fortunate that he wants to be our next president!

  • Freedomswatch

Even Jon Stewart should recognize the great timing, delivery and biting wit. (But his partisanship blinds him to the fun). Romney sounded relaxed, funny and his gracious ending was presidential. Wonder how the MSM will spin this one as a negative?

  • ColoradoTim

Romney’s “Personal” likability scores just went way up. He is the kind of guy that won’t embarrass you if you have him over for a backyard BBQ. That is huge, because a lot of Obama-voters are feeling very embarrassed over their 2008 vote. After watching this, they will now feel comfortable walking away from Barak because there is a good chance that Romney will heal that awkward feeling they have in their soul.

  • RosiesSeeingRed

I loved when Obama made the Chris Matthews joke about him giving Chris a tingle up his leg in 2008 and a stroke in this year’s debate.

Chrissy absolutely HATES that people make fun of his tingle remark. It really gets under his skin, so I think it is perfect that OBAMA said it. What a slap in the face, and Chrissy deserves it.

It’s funny how the left can dish out ridicule but really take offense to it when they’re the butt of the joke. We’ve got our copies of Rules for Radicals now. What goes around, comes around.

  • Most of the people I have talked to this morning thought Mitt Romney’s speech was funny but way way less self deprecating than President Obama’s and so he came off a bit arrogant. Some said he was down right too mean! So the Far right may have thought these embellished things about how Romney killed or the other wildly over the top adulation that I have read in this comment section but even the crowd at the event last night, which was surely a more pro romney gathering thought he was going a bit too far and his speech missed the normal tone of the evening as many reports have have stated this morn and which was evident at the time by the audible jeers after some of his lines! It’s one thing to be partisan and in favor of your guy no matter what it’s another to refuse to live in reality!

    • poljunkie

Matthew, why would you assume it was a more “pro Romney gathering? Did you not notice all the media in attendance?
On a night when jokes are allowed, and in good fun, I really dont know why they are made into an issue and called mean? Sense of humors are a good thing, especially at the end of a long election cycle. 🙂

      Edit: spelling/

      • That was just what reports have said that it was more of a “Pro Romney crowd” I assume because of President Obama’s contentious relationship with the Catholic church caused by that contraception battle waged due to Obamacare mandating that Catholic Employers offer contraception in their insurance plans. Most of the members of the media that were there were Catholic themselves or gave to Catholic charities! No I love the idea of of having a night like this but having a sense of humor means being able to laugh AT YOURSELF as much as at someone else’s expense ya know! that’s why I think his speech missed the mark!! Go back and watch other years of this event and you will see Mitt’s speech was way way more political and attacking and less self deprecating than any other candidate that has ever spoke at the dinner!! and I am not even a huge Obama fan personally im just sayin…

        • poljunkie

The media leans democrat, and I dont know what “reports” you read that said it was a Romney crowd.
Lets be honest, both men didn’t write their own jokes. They were there to break the ice, and have a little bit of fun, which it looks like everyone did. In my opinion Gov Romney used the platform to say things that he thought he could say gently, with a smile on his face that had truth in them. I cant say for certain, but I think I remember Obama raking Mc Cain over the coals in regard to the economy w/ his jokes at the event in 2008. He knew that issue was going to win the election for him and he used it to his advantage at the dinner.

        • You can have your ‘pity party’ for Obama if U like but I have no pity for someone that has been so vile, so deceitful, and perpetrated such disastrous attacks on the American Constitution & th good name of America itself!

      • After watching the Romney monologue last night, I predicted that the Team Obama, including the MSM, would try 2 portray Mitt as being mean! There’ll be NO crocodile tears shed by me! After every destructive thing Obama has done to America, I have no pity or mercy 4 the Anti-American in Chief!

        • poljunkie

I agree Bill. Its ok for Obama to send his surrogates out and call the Gov names every day- but when Romney makes a few jokes that actually had truth in them – he’s called a big meanie. Oh well. He wants to win this election, and I say it’s good to see some back bone.

    • p m

Far right?? Your reading material needs to be upgraded if the ‘reports’ you’re reading are as you’d like us to think. But then, you’re a troll who has only read other leftie trolls to get his trolling point, are’t you?

  • 1rightguy

The word that comes to mind is…class. Mitt has it as does Ann as well. What a fine family we will be blessed with as our first family.

    • indthinker

You are so right. Can’t wait til dignity and class are back in the White House.

  • He is class personified. He has shown great compassion and reverence for what the Al Smith Dinner is all about and what it represents in his closing statements. And his sarcastic comedic remarks towards the president and vice president were based on truths behind the laughter. This was Mitt at his best!

    • I’ll go along with his children probably being nice kids but I’m equally sure both BO & MO have done their best to indoctrinate them with liberal BS about America & fostered their own hate-filled racist mindset! …As to MItt being a class act! Absolutely, 100% agree!

  • itkickin

“This message was brought to you tonight by the letter ‘O’ and the number 16,000,000,000,000.”
    Hilarious and punishing.

    • I thought that was one of the funniest lines of either speech for sure!

  • algeewiz

even when mitt wit is smoosing, he talks down at people.

  • Rocco11

    Buck up buttercup..

  • Big Mama

    Reminded me of “Ronney”

  • I bet Obama was seething with anger inside & having a hard time hiding it! He probably went back to the White House & kicked poor Bo < probably the ONLY 'friend' he has left!

  • “The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards, all of them look like droopy-eyed armless children.”

    — Mitt Romney or Charlie Sheen ?
Not an easy game, is it?

…the next WHITE GREAT PRESIDENT of the U.S.A.!”

    • Why! the racist statement? Your probably a leftist on a conservative blog site trying to paint us true conservatives as racist, sexist, and homophobic. And there is a reason why none of us has responded to your racist rant…with me being the exception.

…first off TRUTH #1 is not Mitt Romney WHITE and President Barach Hussein Obama BLACK . As for being a LEFTIST TRUTH #2 , I consider myself a WHITE CHRISTIAN MALE Libertarian Conservative who believes in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence .As for being Racist keep your JUDGEMENT to yourself for I will only answer to the GOD OF MY FAITH . Also I couldn’t give damn if anyone reads or responds to my statements especially you david r .
May the GOD OF MY FAITH , forgive you david r , have a great day and VOTE for ROMNEY to save YOUR COUNTRY . For my Country is a CONSERVATIVE CANADA

  • The fact that liberal troll Matthew Clark liked this comment exposes his agenda!

  • Nukeman60

This was one of the best ‘speeches’ I’ve heard Romney give. I do hope the left uses some of this to attempt to slam Romney, because there was nothing here that wasn’t great. Obama, on the other hand, fell completely flat with his, using his trademark smile to try and push the punchlines across, which apparently doesn’t work anymore – too bad for that.

Timing is everything in comedy and while Romney was ‘spot on’, Obama was just a ‘spot’ on the floor.

  • TheOtherJohnnySwift

The point of the dinner is to put politics aside for a charitable cause. In keeping with Romney’s elite status, and consequently not having to play by the rules, he delivered a very well written comedic speech in his typical board up his backside, phoney as a three dollar bill style, that was only once removed from his his typical campaign stump drivel.

All past participants have had the good grace to be self-deprecating, or lambast political life in general, while lightly roasting the “other” side on a personal level. But of course Mitt inhabits his own reality, so did not feel constrained by any sense of decorum or tradition, and used the event to score cheap political shots.

Do you really think, given that fact that Romney has held so many different positions on each important issue, that Obama’s writers couldn’t have come up with their own hatchet job, if only they could bring themselves to stoop to Mitt’s level? Mitt scores big and misses the mark at the same time. I see why you all sound so proud.

    • You’re completely off base. Everyone took shot at everyone else. And Romney had some jokes about himself. The one about having a governor as a father and serving one term. The one about designated driver. Big bird. His prep for the debate. What they wear. He even said that the media would say he hangs with rich people. It was a jab at the media, but at the same time, joked about his status. His joke about Biden laughing at anything is also self-deprecating as it implies his jokes would be flat and he’d need Joe to laugh at them. At the end, he complimented Obama.

You just heard what you wanted to hear and went about displaying your bias.

      • TheOtherJohnnySwift

Obama said one thing about Mitt shopping FOR stores instead of shopping AT them. Not even that political. He referenced Ryan’s marathon time trouble and Clint yelling at empty chairs. He expressed a preference for Cuomo being the next President if there was going to be one who is a one time Governor from a major northeastern state (instead of Romney). He referenced Romney not having to worry about
being attacked as a celebrity for being so popular with our allies overseas. Oh yeah, he mentioned his own very important Honey Boo-Boo endorsement.

As for Romney’s comments, just look at the title of this thread: “Hilarious and Brutal.” I quote the host of this web site: “But I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny Romney was as he delivered line after line, mostly about the president. In fact he landed some pretty hard blows on the president, namely one where in using the Sesame Street reference he said that President Obama’s remarks
“are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 Trillion.” Ouch! And there’s a lot more where that came from.”

But, since I am so biased, please, don’t take my word for it, just scroll up to the top and read for yourself.

I stopped counting Romney’s too sharp barbs. In the role of Count Adhemar, Romney comes to the jousting match with real steel tips on his lances, while, a la Ulrich von Lichtenstein, every one else is using glass tips. (If you don’t get the reference, Google “A Knight’s Tale”)

Oh, and while we are on the subject of bias, of course only Romney’s video is posted here.

    • notebene

Gee…three very public leftist run debates just isn’t enough for you lib tools! Still don’t have a sense of humor…yet you cheer on Joe Biden laughing at the things that matter to real Americans and the fact that you share in his vulgarity with glee. Romney gave a great roasting speech and did include self-depreciating humor. Too bad you’re too busy protecting the socialist in chief to notice!

      • TheOtherJohnnySwift

Biden wasn’t laughing about the things that matter to “real Americans”, he was laughing at Ryan being able to tell lies, either his or his master’s, while keeping a straight face. He was laughing to keep himself from crying. Please don’t wrap yourself in the mantle of being a real American, while presuming that those of us that don’t agree with your opinions are something else.

I agree that he used self-deprecating humor, his political humor was way too pointed for the event, as evidenced by the heading of this post: “Hilarious and Brutal”. Apparently, brutal is fine as long as it is aimed at someone who is not a “Real American”.

        • Army_Pilot1967

Well, you got the “…who is not a “Real American.” part correct!!!

        • notebene

Anyone who follows the weak, hypocritical socialist policies of this Imposter in the Oval Office and claims to be an American is seriously and dangerously ignorant. The progressive movement of the left is not about helping the weak or the working class, it’s about using them as pawns to gain power and crush the middle class out of existence. Name on nation where socialism exists and there is a vibrant middle class. You can’t because there isn’t one! The Democrat Party is now the socialist party and ignorant people are the only ones falling for the free stuff to support it. It is a political and financial failure that was set up by Clinton through the 1990s and carried on in 2006 when both the House and Congress gained a Democrat majority and passed even more insane policies that collapsed our nation financially. Bush was weak to let it happen, but it was the spending and passing of insane socialist policies that caused our nation’s financial collapse. The Democratic party of old is dead and it has been entirely taken over by union socialists he l l bent on pushing an agenda that has failed time and time again. Biden wasn’t laughing to keep himself from crying…he was being a condescending jackass! He is nothing more than a glorified, lazy government drone, who doesn’t give a rip about the working class or the middle class, just filling his pockets. The only reason Biden would cry is if he lost his cushy pension for doing nothing in office for the last 40 years!

  • Yeah!
the best joke was that one about the 47%…or the other one about his offshore accounts…or that one about why none of his 5 FIVE sons joined the army…or the one about no showing his taxes returns…
He was so funny and he still laughing, at us.

    • notebene

Even funnier…the 47% who do play the system having to actually get off their arses and go to work! Better yet…you believing the Imposter gives a rip about the working class, the military, or youth. Youth are merely usable pawns for him. How funny is sending our men and women overseas to serve with rubber bullets, while the enemy has live ammo. Take a hike you ignorant, insolent little troll! Can’t wait to see your head explode from shock in November!

  • You can really tell how the race is going watching the body language of both candidates. Mitt Romney looks relaxed, sounds confident, and clearly listening to his speech he sounds like knows he’s going to win. The President on the other hand, was beating himself up, his speech was flat but had a few good lines, he seemed like he’s had enough of the job, and looked uneased while delievering his speech. Glad they both put politics aside to raise money for a great cause. My favorite line of Mitt’s speech, ‘I have my beautiful wife Ann, and you have Bill Clinton.’

  • Absolutely brilliant!!

  • mike morrison

I was blown away by his timing:) It doesn’t sound like Dennis Miller to me, to me it sounds like Jay Leno, actually.

No matter who the writer(s) were, he was funny whether you support him or not. Funny is funny.

  • DebbyX

Funny stuff…………and boy is he a handsome devil!

  • CharlesFinley

Mitt was all like, “I….drink….your….MILKshake!!!! I drink it UP!”

  • CharlesFinley

Pack up your $hit, barry. You’re goin’ back to ChiCongo!

    One…two…three..nah nah-
    NAAAH nah…….. barack-O-
    hey hey…………..Goo-ood-

  • Army_Pilot1967

Mitt: jab, jab, jab, jab, roundhouse right: “…brought to you by the letter “O” and the number 16 trillion.” That was brilliant!!!! I’m sure I enjoyed Mitt’s remarks much more than did obama.

  • One more reason I support ROMNEY!

  • One more reason I support ROMNEY!

  • Suzyqpie

I think, I’m not sure, but I think, it looks like maybe probably, Mitt just copped Barrys lunch money. Not sure just guessing. Audios Barry!!!

  • NJK

  • Romney is very Regan-like! Both witty, funny, smart, affable! This is really like the 1980’s election, Reagan vs Carter!

  • Army_Pilot1967

I would liked to have seen Ms. obama’s face after a coupe of good zingers by Mitt. I’m sure she had a look that would have been something to see….probably a glare at Mitt.

  • factsobill

That, my friends is what a President looks like and sounds like! You will never catch Mitt partying in Vegas when the shiesse hits the the fan.

  • At least Obama smiled and shook hands. Yes, he’s had a tough four years that will soon come to an end but he tried to appear civil even though you had to know he wanted to jack Mitt in the nose.

  • Monitor2112

Overall I liked Romney’s speech much more. However I think my favorite zinger came from Obama. His giving Chris Matthews a stroke had me laughing hard.

But like I said, Romney was funnier overall. His letter O number 16 trillion line is right up there. In fact if you ask me tomorrow I may say it was the funniest line of the night. That is how close I think those two were.

  • We all know you won, Mitt!
