Hillary Clinton and the Obamas have hopped off the safety of the “pro-Harvey Weinstein” boat now that it has become dangerously imperiled and is taking on water, and have taken their belongings and hopped into the “Harvey Weinstein is despicable” boat. It has wi-fi.
Here’s Hillary’s statement:
“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein,” Clinton said in a statement through her spokesman Nick Merrill. “The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior.”
And here is the Obama’s statement:
“Michelle and I have been disgusted by the recent reports about Harvey Weinstein. Any man who demeans and degrades women in such fashion needs to be condemned and held accountable, regardless of wealth or status,” they said in a joint statement.
They added that “we should celebrate the courage of women who have come forward to tell these painful stories. And we all need to build a culture – including by empowering our girls and teaching our boys decency and respect – so we can make such behavior less prevalent in the future.”
What about all that time where the secret was widely known in Hollywood – are we to believe they didn’t know about it too? And that’s the milquetoast statement you get from a guy who finds out his daughter was interning with a massive and multiple sexual predator? Is that pathetic or what?
