Home Depot Co-Founder: If 2012 goes the way of big government, I pity all of us

Bernie Marcus, Home Depot Co-Founder says that he doesn’t “know a businessman in his right mind…that would expand their business in this market or do anything to get rid of the cash flow that they have.” He says that it’s come to the point where we are going to go the way of big government or the way of creating jobs, and that “2012 is now setting up to be the ultimate decision for this country on where we’re going to end up and if it doesn’t go the right way, I pity all of us.”

This is exactly the tone that we need to hear from businessmen and entrepreneurs. Most of America is disconnected from what they see on a daily basis and they really need to speak out like this to motivate the American public to not only vote for a Republican as president, but also and more importantly a majority of Republicans in the Senate and the House. It is that critical.

Here’s the clip:

¡Sí! Fernando, perhaps you, too, have seen this happen before. Not going to be a pretty picture. God help America!

We really underestimate the role the MSM plays in protecting Obama and cleaning up after him.

If the acts of this presidency were carried out under someone who looked like John Edwards or Chris Dodd or Joe Biden, their approval rating would be at 30% and falling, and their defeat one year out would be a certainty; if this were any other person being treated with even a moderate level of skepticism from the media, Democrats would earnestly look to a new Democrat to represent the party.

The fact that Obama is at 40%+ approval and still has a chance of being reelected tells you the importance of the media in how unengaged voters gleam headlines, SNL, and Comedy Central for their understanding of the Obama presidency.

    • puma_for_life

Part of that 40% is that the black vote is still supporting him at 95% and it appears that nothing is going to change that.

      • Anonymous

Blacks are less than 13% of the total population. Probably fewer of them vote than caucasians, surely fewer than latinos. This time, since their high expectations have not been met and their hero’s armor tarnished, prolly fewer still will participate.

        GB

        • Uno mas. The DNC pays blacks and latinos to vote, they will vote, because they are rounded up and bussed. Only 15% of the USA votes. Thusly, they have an impact. LBJ showed them how to go to graveyards, get names like John Smith, and their vote comes out, non minority. If you actually work polls,(volenteer work), you can cull out these fakes. If you can get past the Black Panthers. Good luck, for you will surely need it.

Thank you for your vital public information.

            Nothing changes.

            I hope you have a wonder-filled day.

I view the self imposed State Media as the root cause. America could not have maintained our slow frog boil to Statism with out a concerted progressive/socialist media and entertainment industry. It is not unique to Obama, they do for all progressive narratives inside and outside of politics.

    • Anonymous

Many will never leave the Democrat plantation for the obvious reasons. If you didn’t have to work because the Government supports you why would you ever vote anything other than Democrat? They are the party of welfare and endless promises of a Government Socialist Utopia. A Democrat (or Liberal, what’s the difference?) thinks the solution to all their problems is Government. A Conservative (not necessarily a Republican) knows the solutions to all his/her problems are his/her responsibility to fix, NOT the Government. The radical Marxist Obama and his posse of miscreant’s wants class warfare and all the divide they can create. They want bloody riots and soiled spoiled rotten brats running wild in the streets of every community in the USA. They Hate the USA and it is very obvious to those that listen/watch/read the truth. The National Media and Hollywood are complicit with the Socialist agenda so they cover up and lie but mainly just don’t report the truth. Evil is all around us and its name is Liberalism, Socialism, Marxism. Obama is a very evil man that hates the USA and everything it represents. He and those like him must be stopped! We will try the peaceful legal route first…. if that fails it will get very ugly. We American’s will not fail to defend our freedoms even if we have to fight a bloody war to do so. Be prepared my Conservative brethren. God bless the USA and all who defend her!

      • Your hopes exceed my expectations. God Speed.

  • Anonymous

Oh don’t worry , Democrats will put country before party and do the right thing .
    Right ? Right ?

    • Anonymous

LOL I spewed coffee when I read that 🙂

  • Yes Siree, 2012 the year that America becomes like another mediocre European country or the year that the Socialists get booted out of office and America picks herself up and stands great again.

If you vote for either Democrats or Republicans you have doomed this country, both have shown they are incapable of running America.

    • Anonymous

Vote for a demoncrat and you know what you are gonna get, vote for a repuglican and it’s more of a toss up, well, a little less than toss up.

      • cabensg

Vote for a conservative Republican and save the country.

        • Anonymous

I am extremely happy with my vote for Joe Walsh. He gives them hell.

  • Anonymous

I sure hope a majority of Americans understand that those who have an (R) next to their name on the ballots across the country in 2012 to support them.

    • I don’t know johnos- seems like there’s not a whole lot of difference between Rs and Ds these days.

    • Anonymous

Even better are ballots where we can choose conservatives with an R by their name …

  • Good for Bernie Marcus. If I had money, I’d go to home depot and buy something.

What this administration has done on piling even more excessive regulations, taxes, the coming healthscare etc. Is enough for any business large or small to just close up and either move to another country or retire early down in Costa Rica.

God forbid our government should do what most Americans have had to do or face jail time for theft. Cut the danged budget!! STOP SPENDING WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE!!

  • Anonymous

…IT IS TIME AMERICA TO CLEAN OUT THE HOUSE THE SENATE AND THAT MARXIST SOCIALIST OUT OF THE OVAL OFFICE . BUT IS NOVEMBER 6th 2012,

    SOON ENOUGH ????????????????????????????????

MAY GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA .”

  • The problem is not lack of taxes, it is THE SPENDING! Why is this simple fact so lost on most people?

    • I guess spending other people’s money must be addictive.

    • Anonymous

Stopping the spending gets the crooks in trouble with the voters. Easier for them to act like cuts are spending and hope we don’t know the difference.

    • Anonymous

Because so many aren’t paying taxes….but still getting a refund. I want to know why people can’t figure that that free ride is soon going to crash.

      • The fed also steals a lot of money, me $300 a month. Can’t stop them. It is coming to you too, soon. Good luck.

  • Joe

    This is a given!

I know a number of small businesses that will not hire until they know what is going on

Marcus and other CEO’s current and retired have been preaching this for the last year

Why does O’dopo think he’s smarter than everyone else?

    Very frustrating

I wish they all would get together and make a commercial

    • Anonymous

You ask why? Everybody keeps telling him he’s the smartest guy in the room that’s why. If that’s all you hear then you’ll eventually believe it regardless of the evidence. Look we all know anybody that believes in socialism is an idiot as the overwhelming evidence gives you broke and poor countries.

  • Joe

I need some help if you please

    DONALD TRUMP –

Can anyone see him running successfully ?

If he gets his act together – Would you vote for TRUMP

    just askin’

Excepting Newt – The rest are finished – I think

    • Just read a headline on Drudge that he filed his financial disclosure statement and is still considering a run.

      • Joe

Do you think he could win?

        • I honestly don’t know. I wouldn’t vote for him, but I am biased because I never really liked him. He’s too pompous, and when he first started making the rounds announcing he was going to run, it seemed as if it were one of those “I’m doing it because it’s there and I’ve never done it yet” type of things.
I would have no problem with him adding his financial brains to a new administration though- but for president, personally, nah.

          • cabensg

            I couldn’t agree more.

          • Anonymous

I don’t think he is the financial wizard people give him credit for. He is good at working the system to keep income flowing. You know, the type of person we’re trying to kick out of Washington.

        • Anonymous

Nobody with hair like that could win the Presidency. :O

    • cabensg

No Joe. Trump is the farthest from presidential material as you can get. I enjoyed his taking it to Obama but four years of his idiocy and we wouldn’t have to worry about the economy or foreign affairs because we’d all be bananas from listening to him. Just like it’s become with Obama the sound of his voice would drive us mad. Just sayin!!

    • Anonymous

      I don’t think so.

    • Anonymous

Do you honestly believe that if Obama was the only one on the ballot for 2012 he’s get elected anyway similar to Saddam’s ballot of yes or no for another term of five years? I know people are habbitually stupis but come on surely they can see he’s got the pedal down to the floorboard in high gear steering toward the cliff.

      • Anonymous

I wish people could see it, but sadly, I don’t think they do. Obama, dems, and the media have done a pretty good job of convincing people that the republicans are responsible.

    • Anonymous

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Not the Donald! Now Newt, I like!

  • I’m with this guys view 100%, this is it, we have our choice to make. If a Republican does not win this next election it will be time for a John Galt strike on this world of government socialist dictatorship. It will be time to disconnect from the economy and go it alone in our own way.

    • A lot of those of us who have no money and no jobs but aren’t whining and occupying do some of that already. I mean we were kind of forced to disconnect from the economy, so a lot of folks I know are bartering and trading these days.

  • Anonymous

You know guys…I am not so sure we have until the election. Many seem to think that the election will send us in one direction or the other. I happen to think that we are sitting on the brink of an economical collapse. This is getting so severe that I wonder if we shouldn’t be trying to pay off every bill we have including mortgages if we can. If all money stops flowing…those banks will still want their payments and we will all be in the street. That is the worst case scenario but no one dreamed in 29 that what happened would happen. But I have NO doubt that if our economy is sustained until the election that by re-electing Obama will in fact finish us off. We will be history.

Five years ago I wondered how it is possible that the United States wasn’t mentioned in Revelations as a major player, I have begun to understand.

      • Amen Toon! I wrote a blog article, actually it was the very first one I ever wrote back in the days of AOL journals, about the fact that America is not mentioned in the Bible. Boy howdy, it’s amazing how far we have fallen in the 7 short years since I wrote that!

        • Anonymous

Absolutely true. The bible is showing itself to be right on.

        • Anonymous

That was seven years ago, Duck? Is it available?

          • I believe it was. I don’t have the original anymore because I never saved my stuff when AOL shut it down. Stupid of me I realize now, but back then I was new and didn’t have many readers, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to blog or not. If I can find it (I did another updated one) but I’ll have to check my blogger archives because I can’t remember when I posted it. If I find it, I’ll post the link here. Thanks Toon :0)

            • Anonymous

              Appreciate it.

            • Anonymous

              I found it.

            • Anonymous

I read it. I am very impressed with your writing style and knowledge. Granted that was an interview but your other posts are well written. Why have you put your blog on pause?

              • LOL you and I must have been speed reading through it all at the same time. From your comment, I know you just came from the Bible Prophecies blog. That was an excellent article, but yes, it was someone elses. I never did find a copy of my original, but I did find one similar (a couple actually) on the No Apologies blog.
                http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/2008/11/sunset-on-ameria.html
It’s similar but updated from my AOL one, but it doesn’t touch as much on actual Bible verses, but it’s to the point- and you’ll notice that I wrote it the day after dear leader was elected. I looked at the post a few months later, and thought it pretty hyperbolic (even for me LOL) but now just reading it, it kind of scared me.

Anyway, here’s another page from the archives which has I think 3 articles from a series I did on how the financial crisis was heading us toward a one world government. I forgot I wrote about all of this, and I was making my own eyes bleed while I skimmed it just now!
                http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

You don’t have to read them all if you don’t want to, or wait until you have more time. I just thought I’d throw those in since I was looking.

I appreciate your reading, and thank you for the compliments. I love to write, and I am very opinionated on a lot of stuff. But honestly I haven’t felt a burden to write lately. A lot of what I write about I think about for months, and if I feel led to write, I am able to find sources and past articles and stuff when I investigate. That take a LOT of time and energy, which I really don’t have right now with homeschool going on and other things. I am writing a novel right now as well, so it takes up what time I have when I’m not on TheRightScoop 😉

God Bless you Toon. I’ll see you here tomorrow.

                • Anonymous

Right from the heart to the heart! I read the first link and the first part of the second. Insightful, opinionated, direct. You wrote my thoughts in Sunset On America. I will read the rest and more of writings as time permits. With Gods inspiration I encourage you to write and complete your novel. Have a blessed day.

                • Thank you friend!

        • Anonymous

          Thanks for the link, Scoop.
