House Republican says it’s ‘arrogant’ to link humans to climate change

Oh I bet this is a big deal on liberal blogs who are probably decrying this Republican as anti-science. But I post this because I’m glad Rep. Todd Rokita from Indiana made these comments, standing up to the Climate Change racket, and I want to draw attention to him:

HUFFPO – Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.) said Friday that he does not believe humans are responsible for climate change, according to The Purdue Exponent.

“I think it’s arrogant that we think as people that we can somehow change the climate of the whole earth when science is telling us that there’s a cycle to all this,” Rokita said in an interview with the college paper after a town hall meeting in Lebanon, Ind. “And that cycle was occurring before the industrial revolution and I suspect will occur way into the future.”

When asked by a constituent about government subsidies for renewable energy sources like wind and solar, Rokita said that he respects “God’s green earth,” but that the private market should decide which energy sources receive funding.

Recent predictions state that our milky way galaxy will collide with the Andromeda spiral galaxy in a few billion years.  Guess conservatives will be blamed for that also.

I think it is arrogant to say Climate Change is bad or a negative. The climate changes. We know this. We have had a Ice Age and many small versions of it. We have also had the opposite. Instead of looking to blame and profit, which is evil, science should seek a deeper understanding why the climate change is necessary…beyond the changing of the seasons that is.

I think that the earth being flat is an arrogant claim too. I mean, does it look round? I think it’s a liberal conspiracy to stop us from believing in God’s word. I also refuse to change my opinion even if a scientist who’s devoted his entire life to studying the earth has evidence against my claim.

  • NYGino

TexxSpeziashwiff   Exactly.  Christopher Columbus was an Earther.

  • doorsxp

Hey Libtards, why don”t you just hide the decline in global temperatures?

  • deTocqueville1

    He is correct!

  • kong1967

Rush says the same thing….arrogance.  Personally I don’t believe liberal elites push this because they believe it.  They push it in order to achieve an agenda.  When Pelosi…or whoever it was…..threatened to revoke the license of any meteorologist that disagreed, that’s not science.  Science strives to find the facts no matter where they lead, it doesn’t come to a conclusion first then make the data fit the predetermined outcome….as scientists have been busted doing and lying in order to push the agenda.

I’d like to hear more from this Congressman.

  • steveangll77

    Wow just Wow.
Does it never occur to anyone that perhaps God might play a role in all of this.

  • badbadlibs

If humans have that kind of power as to effect the climate, why don’t we make it rain over all those fires, or in drought affected areas? Why don’t we make the sun shine in Wa. State ALL THE TIME….please! 🙂
He’s right, the arrogance of the left is sickening.

kong1967 peolsi and her ilk would have tried to sabotage all the great explorers and true scientists of times past.

… we are all so insignificant in influencing our climate environment but so all important in Gods over all plan.”

  • clockwindingdown

The “religion of science” crowd seems to lack knowledge of basic weather patterns and simple things like how wind, fog, etc are formed.

  • crakpot

Columbus proved his point, experimentally.   Denying flat-earthers lost out.

Nineteenth century engineers proved that heat cannot be transferred from the colder bodies (like CO2 in the atmosphere) to the warmer bodies (like Earth’s surface) in numerous controlled experiments, giving rise to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.   Deniers with their perpetual motion machines got the boot after that.

The “greenhouse gas effect” violates the 2nd Law, but politics sweep that fact under the rug, and the grant money types point to falsified results from an impossible-to-control experiment, Earth’s climate.   Colder is warmer, and effects (temperature) come after causes (CO2) in time.   They are the deniers.

Compared to the earth.. man is  nothing but a pimple on the ass of a elephant.. this man is correct.. These tree hugging arrogant freaks… think far to highly of themselves.. They think that they are the gift to all mankind and that we need to pay attention to them because they know better..
I hope this man continues his fight against these arrogant know-it alls !!

  • TexxSpeziashwiff

crakpot TexxSpeziashwiff That’s not the theory of global warming. The theory is that the carbon dioxide will stop the heat from escaping the earth, much as it does on Venus. Venus is the hottest planet even though it’s millions of miles away from Mercury because of this effect.

  • TexxSpeziashwiff

    clockwindingdown TexxSpeziashwiff 🙂

Mercury has very little atmosphere to conduct heat. It’s mostly radiant, and reflective.
Venus has a very dense atmosphere that is absorptive. So it’s a specious comparison.

  • K-Bob

No way.  Galaxies could never collide could they?  The universe is supposed to be expanding.  Like a balloon.
I always wonder how they get so many pics of colliding galaxies if we’re so busy expanding.

  • NYGino

K-Bob    K-Bob, check out the site  (astronomy picture of the day ).  Our good friend Nukeman60 told us about it a year ago when Venus was in transition across the sun.  I go there every day to see some incredible images taken by Hubble and other sources.
Anyway bring it up , go to “archives” and click on the item for Aug 25.

Finally a politician that’s willing to admit that the “emperor has no clothes on”. Climate change is a obama and leftist production designed to deplete America or all of her resources and give it to the enemies of America.

I love apod. Some freeper posts them regularly.  Also a geology pic of the day.  Been looking at those for years.
Hubble telescope is one of the better things humans ever did.
