CBN NEWS – House Republicans overwhelmingly passed a plan Wednesday designed to prevent a potential debt crisis.

Wednesday’s “No Budget, No Pay” measure, which passed 285-144, would give the government enough leeway to meet three more months’ worth of obligations and avoid a first-time ever default.

Republicans gave up on spending cuts in return for an increase in the government’s borrowing cap.

This time when they raise the debt limit, they will require that paychecks be withheld for lawmakers unless they approve spending cuts. The issue of the debt limit won’t be raised again until May 18.

“This is not a gimmick,” Rep. Michael Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., said. “For the past almost going on now four years, our colleagues in the Senate have failed in their most basic responsibility of governance, which is to pass a budget.”

“All we’re saying is ‘Congress follow the law. Do your work. Budget,'” House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said. “And the reason for this (debt) extension is so that we can have the (budget) debate we need to have.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the Senate would pass the bill without making any revisions, noting the plan contained no spending cuts.

“It surrenders the hostage Republicans took in the past,” Reid said. “It decouples the full faith and credit of the United States from cuts to Social Security and Medicare, or anything else.”

“I thank Speaker Boehner on his leadership of diffusing a fight over the debt ceiling debate,” Politico quoted Reid. “Not everything here has to be a big fight.”

The White House said it won’t oppose the measure either.

    They are all traitors and should be recalled or fired immediately. This is the most ridiculous approach and outcome I’ve ever heard of… you can’t approach the Democrats with armloads of good faith, hoping that they will stand by their promises and act honorably. How stupid is that?

    I said it before… I expect Reid (who has skeletons in the closet and a lineage linked to the underworld) to act irresponsibly… but I was hoping Republicans would quit being puppets and not surrender the whole country. They have become worse than the Democrats because they were elected to stop this clear and present evil.

          Paul Ryan voted FOR it. Just like he has voted for every debt ceiling raise and every big spending bill. The man is a complete fraud… talks a good game, but votes right along side of Boehner and the rest of the political ruling class all the time.

          He voted to raise taxes last month… voted to suspend the debt ceiling today. Some fiscal conservative he is, yes? But the conservative pundits love his boyish good looks, so there’s that.

              Today, Paul Ryan, regardless of his reasons why, voted against the taxpayer:

              ALG President Bill Wilson said the following about Republicans kicking the can down the road, “This is a partial repeal of representative government. Through the elimination of the debt ceiling, even just until May 19, the American people now have no say in the amount of debt the government contracts. The only say whatsoever representatives had on the some 60 percent of the $3.7 trillion budget that operates on autopilot, which includes Social Security, Medicare, and other forms of so-called ‘mandatory’ spending, was the periodic vote on increasing the debt ceiling. Now that it has been suspended, the debt ceiling may never be reinstated.”

              Today, he offered a political gaming excuse for suspending the debt ceiling. A few weeks ago, he offered a lame excuse for voting IN FAVOR of that horrible fiscal cliff deal.

              The point is… the conservative pundits keep saying that this guy is a fiscal conservative, yet he consistently votes to increase spending, increase debt ceilings, and increase taxes. How in God’s name is this a fiscal conservative? His voting record shows him to be nothing more than one of the GOP ruling class. The man looked good taking down Obama in that Obamacare meeting a few years ago, yet he votes for bills that fund anything related to Obamacare. Some would call this hypocrisy… or at the very least, talking the talk, but not actually walking the walk.

              He’s playing politics and engaging in political-speak instead of doing anything real that will actually stop and/or cut spending. It’s all lip service and promises of future cuts that were never real to begin with. And it is our kids and grandkids that are paying the price for his game playing.

              When will Paul Ryan actually begin voting for fiscal conservatism instead of offering excuses as to why he can’t vote this time for it, but will get around to it in the future?

              Seriously, if we are ever going to save this nation, then we have to be honest about what these politicians truly are and who can be depended on to do the right thing when it counts. Paul Ryan, regardless of how likeable he is to so many people and regardless of how good his political excuses sound, is NOT one of those people who will help save the nation. His voting record, despite his words and excuses, prove this. And, actions really do speak louder than words.

              The nation, and especially our kids and grandkids, just can’t afford voting representatives like Paul Ryan anymore. We are long out of time for anymore political excuses and game playing now.

              And does anyone sincerely believe that these budgets that any of these politicians are talking about, including Paul Ryan, will actually cut…. REALLY cut, actual spending?

                Perhaps that is why he agreed to it only if the demo demons agreed to a signed budget for the coming year. So yes limits were contingent. No offense but perhaps a little more reading of the actual vote is in order.

                Oh, I think Republicans reach their limits much sooner than Democrats do. I’m still concerned about the total fall of the economies of the whole world, as predicted in the Book of Revelation, That’s when the devil’s representative finally comes out for all to see. He will be charming, so the women will like him right away, and innovative, so the men will think his revival of the world economies makes a lot of sense. But he will want everyone to have only ONE I.D. number, recognized all over the world. There will then be a cashless society, and barter will be out. Gold or silver will be worthless. The computer will be the bank, and we’ll have to go along with the new economy’s rules, or be taken out of the data base.
                That’s what concerns me. I think the world leaders know it’s coming, that’s why there’s no hesitation to print more money as needed. Right now, all countries are just buying time until they figure out when to let the whole thing fall. If we could have a microphone in the backrooms, huh?

      The Republican party is of NO USE to the citizens of the United States. They are bought and paid for by the Corporations. They are big government liberals who roll over at every opportunity. We need a third party, one who’s platform will include that their constituents that have a vote will take priority over corporations. Citizens predated corporations, the constitution says, “We the people”. It should also state that we should encourage COMPETITION over monopoly principles. It should include a platform of obeying the constitution AS WRITTEN, not reinterpreted. It should include term limit pledges, and if someone decides to go over that term limit, that person will have to be self funded. It should state that the Senate should be taken back to an appointment by the states again and not elected. Please add your thoughts.

Whom is in current efforts to IMPEACH THOSE IN THE OVAL OFFICE, SENATE AND CONGRESS that refuse to do the job for which they were hired. The articles of impeachment brought by jay Sekolow and Alex Jones mention a historic 412 members of our current Government body. That include Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Nancy the NAZI COW Pelosi and the rest.       I can relate to the feeling hateful. But this is part of their plan. They overwhelm us with so much stuff we have to tune out in order to not go nuts. What I see as the overwhelming problem is that we have no where to go. It’s not like we can join the local repub party to make a difference…

      The Tea Party hasn’t gone away as so many wishfully claim, the Tea Party is a groundswell of opinions and sentiments that have not only not gone away, they have GROWN. The “causes” for the TP to get wind into their sails have NOT gone away. Instead they have multiplied!! We just need a leader to make it all come together!!!

    I want nothing to do with John Boehner or Mitch McConnell any more.

    They do not speak for me. They don’t even care to try. It is very obvious, they are nothing but front men. They have their own agenda to put forward. And, with it, they cut the Conservative Voice right out from under there own feet.

    More importantly: They are adults. I want no more part in this “Faux” Congress.

    There may be no budget. But, Obama certainly thinks he can keep spending without impunity. Hmmm. I wonder why……”

    This is as I have read in many articles a big gimmick with no teeth and no real desire to cut anyone’s pay in CON-gress… All the democrat senate has to do is pass a budget of any type even a insane budget or worse and CON-gress don’t have a cut in their checks… republican have become not one way different then those we de·spise on the left minus the brain dead libtards in CON-gress who are the lowest forms of life on this planet….

    I really have to say that these people on both sides in CON-gress are a useless bunch of idiots… Bonner said somewhere today “Obama’s Focus is to ‘Annihilate the Republican Party’ and ‘Shove Us into the Dustbin of History’ And its looking like bonner and the rest of these fools on the republican side of the isle are ready to help obama make it happen…..     I’m a little confused (but in dealing with Congress, I’m not surprised). The debt ceiling was actually reached on Dec 31st. They are passing a law that will meet 3 more months worth of obligations to avoid default. That takes us to March 31st (at least, using normal math, not that Congressional math).

    My question is, so why will we not have to deal with the debt ceiling until May 18th? What new games and monetary tricks will they be using to fool us into believing anything they want us to believe?

    My guess is that it will be much like that sequestration bill they passed to force Congress to cut spending (that really didn’t force anything at all). Once May 18th arrives, we will find that the new deal is to eliminate the debt ceiling altogether and we will have lost everything before we even started.

    Don’t count on Reid’s Senate to ever make a budget. It is totally against the Democratic way and they’ve discovered that, even though the law says they are required to make one, no one has ever upheld the law so why even bother. Works for them.

    It’s horrible to think about the money borrowed from China, and see the U.S. send F16s and 200 tanks to Egypt. They will be used against Israel, and Obama knows it. How telling is that? It tells any thinking person Obama has muslim preferences, to say the very least. To me, it says volumes. It’s so crazy to put such fantastic weapons in the hands of murderers. God help us. God help Israel. Thank God for Netanyahu.

    More importantly why persist in the vain delusion, which Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity and numerous others share, that somehow, someway, at some point we can bring this Republican Party, run by these people, back to the principles of Ronald Reagan?

    Rush and Levin and Hannity have often said that the ruling elite of the Republican Party detested and despised Ronald Reagan and did everything they could to undermine him and they continue to do so to this very day.

    We, the American People and conservative TEA Party types, won back the House of Representatives with candidates who espoused the principles of Ronald Reagan despite the ruling elite’s interference and nearly took back the senate but because of the GOP’s ruling elite’s interference we fell short in the Senate.

    What happened afterwards — the GOP’s ruling elite proceeded to either compromise our conservative TEA Party congressmen and women or they marginalized them as they did Michele Bachmann who nearly lost re-election or they ostracized them completely, such as Huelscamp of Kansas?!

    I truly believe the GOP’s elites through the election in 2012 to Obama with backing a candidate who refused to stand and fight most of the time except with people who were more conservative than him.

    Why is it so hard for Levin and Limbaugh and Hannity to see that the Big Whigs in the GOP actually threw the election to Obama by send the GOP standard bearer out to NOT FIGHT
    over much of anything?

    Ordinary voters sat at home instead of voting for Romney because they had no one in Romney who would stand and fight for them. Why vote for someone who won’t fight for them?

    We are wasting enormous amounts of energy and time and treasure trying to taka a party
    back to the principles of Ronald Reagan when its clear that the elites running the party won’t go back no matter what. People are tired of this nonsense.

    I for one would happily join an alternative to the Big Whigs of the GOP which is based on the principles of Ronald Reagan and our founding documents. I think many others would also.
