Howard Dean: I’d rather see everybody pay more taxes instead of just making the rich pay more

Oh, no....we can't cut spending because that means less liberal redistribution....which means less power for them. More taxes, bigger government, more power.

Sorry if this is a bit long, but its worth the read.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for a beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.00

The sixth would pay ...$3.00

The seventh would pay $7.00

The eighth would pay $12.00

The ninth would pay $18.00

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.00

So that’s what they decided to do. The men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with arraignment, until one day, the owner threw them

a curve. “Since you are all such good customers, he said, I 'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.00." Drinks for the ten men now cost just $80.00".

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get there "fair share?" They realized that $20.00 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody 's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man 's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay!

And so:

The fifth man like the first four, now paid nothing 100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before! And the first four continued to drink for free.

But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20" declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, "but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that’s right," shouted the seventh man, "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in union. We did 't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers

without him, even cursing him for his absence.

But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill! Looking at each other, they began swearing at their absent companion.

And that, boys and girls, journalist and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Bingo! Howard Dean has said what has always been true of the Dems. All of their supposed concern for the middle class is rhetoric. It is the middle class whose taxes they want to go up. In their eyes the middle class is the problem. We are the bitter clingers to guns and religion. We are the bourgeios class. It is ironic for them that we are also the productive class that provides a significant amount of the money needed to run the behemoth government.

Knowing that taxing the rich only pays for 8 days out of the year's deficit shows us that, naturally, they want to tax the rest of us - and they will. Until they have all our money and can then dole it out to us one penny at a time, they won't stop or be happy. Then comes the regulations by the thousands. We will all be equal - equally poor.

Watch Europe, people. It is a window into our future. A rare opportunity to see what our lives will be like in a few short years. Why wouldn't anyone want to see that and make the changes before it's too late? Why indeed.

Howard Dean is just another foolish democrat who all support the lamestream media. Mark Levin is so right, we are (Obama) is out of control on spending. Tax and spend is NOT the answer.

A FLAT TAX is the answer. The more you earn, the more you pay. Is that difficult to understand?

Like most liberals, the operative words in his statement were 'MORE taxes'.

All socialists everywhere, no matter what they call themselves nationally, only know 'tax and spend'.

They rise taxes, openly and secretly (what we here in the UK cll 'stealth taxes'), and by using what is called 'fiscal drag', i.e. rises in income caused by inflation push you into a higher tax class, so you pay more.

Notice that Mr Dean, while enthusiastic about raising taxes on everybody only wants to cut defense spending - everything else is untouched.

Socialists will never ever cut spending, ever.

Btw - ask your friendly neighbourhood socialist why, if everybody should pay more, the level of income support/benefits isn't also cut back?

Answer there will be none ....

Michele Bachmann said she wanted EVERYONE, even the poorest American, to pay something, to invest in their government, even it was only a dollar.

We all drive on the roads, have schools, a post office, benefit from government services, so we should all contribute.

Even those on welfare should serve, give, respect laws and rights of others.

Dean was caught on tape saying that the Left had already determined that the country will ultimately be a blend of Capitalism, and socialism, the only details remaining to be hammered out were, how much of each...

The only thing that might save this nation is decades of huge tax increases. There is no getting away from it now.

Obama is poised to release nearly 6000 more regulations on America. He wants unlimited debt ceiling powers. He wants to punish the rich. He won't curb spending or touch entitlement programs. He's meeting with hosts of liberal shows from MSNBC and NBC... and progressive tools like Howard Dean are his mouthpieces. Heck, that leach in Detroit thinks Obama owes them for getting him re-elected for crying out loud!

America is already over the cliff and is now starting to fall... thanks to the parasites, lemmings, and deaf, dumb, and blind liberals in this country.

I put down the scotch, because I'm drunk, obviously. I just heard Howard Dean say......no, nevermind, I have to be drunk.

You heard him, he even wants the 47% who pay nothing today start paying. The problem with that is the Government will have to give them all a 20% raise in their Government hand-out to pay for the 15% tax rate. With that the case the Government then has to jack the rich 2% at a 75% tax rate to pay for the entitlement class' pay raise. Net sum gain ZERO until the rich 2% get pissed and move to Singapore.

That's just part of the plan. Once the threat moves to the majority of the population, the people will all demand that the government stick it to someone else, and it will okay in the public's eyes, tax rates above 50% for the rich.

Dean just committed a gaffe: When someone accidently tells the truth.

I think Howard Dean and the Demokrats should get what they wish for.

Long before Obama, "deficit spending" was used by our political class to satisfy "conservatives" who wanted lower taxes and "liberals" who wanted more entitlements and government services.

The Republican message of lower taxes and smaller government isnt connecting with the "public" or the "electorate" anymore......the public at large has been shielded from the true costs associated with entitlements, services and government largesse.

Its high time our public see how much their government "costs"......by letting them feel it in their pocket book.

Yup, the dems don't intend to cut back on spending at all and actually intend to accelerate it, to break the system in order to get the NWO started. The even playing field for all but the ruling class. How very feudal of them!!

Hey, I'm all for the rich paying their fair share. I do believe their fair share should be about 10% of their income, as well as everyone else.

You bet, tax them all!!! That should be our war cry. Everybody wants "free" stuff and benefits, but nobody wants to pay for it. Like the old saying goes, everybody likes lunch a lot, but nobody ever likes the bill. There is no such thing as a free lunch, unless of course you live in Europe and they've made it an art form of kicking the can down the road. Unfortunately for them, they are now finding out what it's like to reach the end to the road of socialism and it usually leads to a dead end. And as we see in places like Greece and Spain, people really don't like it when they get there. But by that time it's too late to do anything about it.

Dean is a moron and I am glad he isn't practicing medicine so he doesn't hurt anyone.

Going over the fiscal cliff will be a win win for Democrats. They get higher rates across the board to fund more spending, but get to blame the tax increase on Republicans with the help of the corrupt media.
