Iowa State Championships: Boy refuses to wrestle girl

This is something light for a Friday night. The Associated Press writes this in the description of this video:

Iowa wrestling standout Joel Northrup refuses to face his female opponent in the state championship, saying it was against his religious beliefs. The call likely cost him the championship. But the decision seemed to be respected by his opponent.

I completely agree with Northrup that girls and guys wrestling each other is too much. Crossing genders in such a physical sport seems disrespectful and maybe even unhealthy. And I know this doesn’t sound substantive, but honestly it just doesn’t feel right (no pun intended).
