Israel DENIES reports of Trump decision against moving embassy to Jerusalem

There is a report out this morning that says Trump has decided not to move the US Embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem and has informed Netanyahu of his decision:

ARUTZ SHEVA – Senior US sources said US President Donald Trump has already decided to extend the order which prevents the US Embassy in Israel from being transferred from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, 360 reporter Ariel Kahana said.

A US source said Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has already been informed of Trump’s decision.

But Netanyahu said today he’s received no such decision from the Trump administration:

JPOST – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Office denied on Wednesday reports that it had received notice that US President Donald Trump has decided not to move the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“Israel’s position is that all embassies, particularly the US embassy, should be in Israel’s capital – Jerusalem,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

That doesn’t mean Trump hasn’t decided to do it. In fact I think it’s very likely Trump has made this decision as he wants to be the President who was able to get peace in the Middle East and he knows he’ll lose a lot of Palestinian cooperation if he moves the embassy to Jerusalem.

But as with much of the reporting this year, I think we need to wait for confirmation before jumping to the conclusion that Trump has broken yet another campaign promise.
