Jared Kushner seizes ‘unprecedented’ role at NSC, to their great frustration

Trump’s son-in-law continues to seize power in the administration, but the National Security Council doesn’t appreciate his horning in on their little club.

From the Free Beacon:

White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner is leading an unprecedented effort to meddle in the White House’s National Security Council, causing mayhem for senior staff who say the president’s son-in-law is interfering in key foreign policy debates, according to Trump administration officials who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

Kushner has taken aggressive action to micro-manage the NSC, overshadowing even recently installed National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, according to sources both inside and outside the White House who described Kushner’s behavior as highly unusual and damaging to the country’s national security infrastructure.

This must be highly annoying to McMaster, who was just barely able to kick Steve Bannon off the council only to have his enemy Kushner elbow his way in too.

It is really remarkable to see Kushner seize so much control over the administration. Just how much can one guy do? I guess we’re going to find out. It’s been a rocky road already, with a few successes and a lot of stumbling blocks. Is this what we can expect for four years?

At least he annoys the heck out of the alt-right, just because he’s Jewish.
