Jeff Sessions was on with Mark Levin last night to discuss what really happened during the Gang of Eight immigration fight in 2013.

Sessions once again confirms that Ted Cruz was actively trying to kill the bill with amendments and was not in support of the bill whatsoever. Sessions even remembers that Cruz was so opposed to the bill that he went to lobby against the bill with his conservative counterparts in the House.

During the interview, Levin played a portion of Rubio’s comments from yesterday where he was suggesting that he was arguing that the bill’s standards were too low to ever pass the House and become law, that he was trying to fix it.

But Sessions says that’s now how he remembers it, explaining how there was a billion dollar campaign to pass this bill by outside groups and that the bill was crafted in such a way that it couldn’t be changed and Rubio was part of that.

Rather, what killed the bill in the House, Sessions points out, was Cantor’s loss to Dave Brat, which sent a strong message to the House not to pass the Senate immigration bill.

Listen:

So in other words, Rubio is lying once again about his support of the bill as well as Ted Cruz trying to kill the bill. Sessions is too much of a gentleman to be that blunt but I will.
