Jesse Jackson Jr. going to jail for felony

The law has finally caught up to Jesse Jackson Jr. See you in five:

YAHOO NEWS – Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., has signed a plea deal with federal prosecutors, agreeing to plead guilty to misuse of campaign funds, CBS Chicago reports. The deal will let a federal judge decide whether Jackson serves jail time.

By agreeing to plead guilty to a single felony count, Jackson could serve up to five years in prison. The judge, however, may decide to sentence him with probation instead of jail time. The former congressman has also agreed to repay hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign funds, misspent over four years on things like redecorating his home and a $40,000 Rolex he bought for a female friend.

As part of the agreement, the government demanded that Jackson give up his congressional seat, which he did in November, just a little more than two weeks after easily winning re-election.

It says so much about the current state of our country and our society, that in a 3 way race, this person won with 72% of the vote……while under indictment, and in the mental ward. We live in strange days…..

    • MissMyGuy

Liberal democrat. Ted Stevens wasn’t so lucky when he was being accused of bribes etc. He lost his race and he was cleared!

      • notsofastthere

I think Stevens was a Liberal Republican but the rest is correct.
Well a Liberal Republican is the same as a Democrat, but are treated differently

      • Diogenes_wy

You forgot Alcee Hastings the Federal judge caught taking bribes who escaped prosecution through a backroom deal and is now an elected Congressional representative from Florida.

  • MissMyGuy

I am waiting for the media to keep this story front and center for the whole week. Research and report every shady detail whether true or not. sarc/

  • He’ll get probation–bank on it. He’ll claim it’s because he’s bipolar and is seeking mental help. And then he’ll probably run for office again just like fellow inmate former Mayor Marion Barry.

    • notsofastthere

Jessie senior, will also minister to his son’s spiritual and moral needs ….and Jessie Jr. will be reformed, then run for office again.

  • sDee

His constituents will elect him to the Senate while in prison.

    • Rshill7

Right. Or maybe Marion Barry could appear and run for it. Hot damn, that would give him a heck of a run.

  • NYGino

Gee. I wonder where he gets his ethical values from.

    • marketcomp

      Must be in the DNA:D!

    • toongoon

      Me too.

      If Obama had a son……..

    • warpmine

Gee, I wonder where he gets his unethical values from.

      Fixed it.

  • BiscuitCrumbs

Nut didn’t fall far from the tree.

    • demographicallychallenged

Hater you shouldn’t make light of a mental disorder. sarc/ Dad will find him a job in Cook county.

      • toongoon

        Community Agitator.

        • community “alligator’ 😉

    • tinlizzieowner

Don’t you mean the ‘ACORN’ didn’t fall far from the tree?
      😉 😉

  • c4pfan

When he gets out, he will be re-elected.

    • Rocco11

No doubt, look at Marion Barry.

  • 57thunderbird

This guy got over 70% of the vote in his district. What does that tell you about the people in his district?Pathetic low information voters or just voting because of his skin color?

    • tinlizzieowner

      Yes and yes.

      • 57thunderbird

That’s what I was thinking as well

  • RocklinConservative

    Wake UP Chicago!

  • LiveFreeOrDie2012

I hate to disappoint Scoop, but Jackson Jr. is not going to jail for five years. There is no way he would have signed the plea deal in that case. Sadly, I bet he gets straight probation or a combination of “house arrest” and probation.

    • toongoon

Local news has it as five months. We’ll see if anything actually happens.

      • tinlizzieowner

Next, it will be five minutes. 😉

        • toongoon

And end up as a high five from Obama and the rest of the democrats.

  • tinlizzieowner

A Chicago judge putting Jackson in jail? That’s the best joke of the week. 😉

  • 57thunderbird

They will slap him on the wrist and tell him not to do it again. There won’t be any jail time.

  • wodiej

    jail time? Right…

  • poljunkie

His wife will probably run for his seat.

  • dk_in_tn

Nothing to see here–just another corrupt Illinois politican–it is expected of them. I hope they give him 5 years.

  • ImaThinkn

Now, if we could get at least another 50 or so to go there with him, we’ve got a good start!

  • Conniption Fitz

JJ is just a typical Democrat. We’ve heard this same old story over and over.

In Chicago, a Democrat judge who assaulted a sheriff’s deputy pleaded insanity.

Here’s another hilarious take-off on the Paul Harvey Superbowl commercial:

  • Sober_Thinking

    Like father like son.

And he got re-elected? Chicago sure loves them some felons, don’t deh?

Shaking my head. Clinton stays in office after multiple complaints of rape and sexual misconduct. He has sex with an intern and survives. And there are several other examples. But man, if a Republican steals from campaign donors, messes around with women (or men) or leaves the toilet seat up… that’s front page news.

Jesse Jackson Jr. is a criminal… and he got a piece of what he deserved.

    • LadyMacKeltar

Plus, He walked away from Congress with pension, where he got about 85% of his pay and the disability package. If he is convicted, will he lose it all?

      • Sober_Thinking

  • Army_Pilot1967

Senior will be able to spin it so that it was an old, rich, white, male Republican that set-up Junior and forced him out of Congress because Junior was so effective at helping the downtrodden and we all know that Republicans hate poor people. (sarc)

  • aposematic

Well if Jr.s Dem. badge of honor wasn’t secured before, it is now…especially if does some jail time; but I doubt that with the insane thing going for him.

  • He will NOT go to prison. That would have the race card flying out of the hand of every Democrat from here to Timbuktu.

  • bjohnson55

Slimy Jackson family, it they aren’t holding business’s up with fake racial issues they cut right to the chase and steal the money. He will be stealing women’s purses if he gets off on probation.

  • DCGere

I won’t be surprised if he gets probation only. It is Chicago after all.

  • Nukeman60

Let’s face it, folks. Jesse Jackson is just setting himself up to run for Governor. After all, this is Illinois and one of the prerequisites is to have a criminal record. How else could all the felons and dead people vote for them?

  • WhiteGuy2

I would be shocked if he actually received jail time. He will get a mere slap on the wrist and praised for being a black man who is being oppressed by republicans.

  • warpmine

    Little wonder he was depressed!

  • eyewatcher1960

His dad should have been there YEARS ago.

  • chatterbox365

Gee, I wonder if Obama will pardon him at the end of his dictatorship.

  • He won’t spend a year in jail and when does Sharpton serve his time? MSNBC/NBC is a total disgrace! You can throw in the rest of CONS(Communist Obama News Service) into that disgraceful category.

  • NYGino

A forty thousand dollar Rolex bought for a female friend? Is that how he refers to his wife or is there something else going on?

  • Given all the things he did, his dad should be sharing the cell with him.

  • Conniption Fitz

Sharpton should also be in jail for inciting racial violence.

  • James1754

Jessie Jackson Jr. is a product of his environment. First his father, then the democrat political machine in Chicago, is it any wonder that he is a crook and a stupid one.

  • bobemakk

Every politician who cheats the government and uses taxpayer money for their personal lives should be thrown in jail. I hope Jackson serves a long term and no parole for good behavior. This Jackson family doesn’t know what “good behavior” really means.

  • Obama administration and Eric Holder especially will get him off. He will never see jail.

    • Wisewoman2

Remember this is a federal prosecution. This was done to stick the knife in ole Jessie ,Sr through his son because of what he said during an open mike incidence about his not being able to stand Obama and that he wanted to cut off what was hanging between Obama’s legs. Obama couldn’t get Jessie, Sr so he came after the crook Jessie, Jr. This was payback in my opinion because Obama is that Mafia type of person.

  • Biggbear52

Just imagine if all felonies in Washington D.C were prosecuted. There would about 490 to 500 empty seats to fill with Constitution believing people. Regardless of party!

    • TimeForAnarchy

Are there enough lawyers in the world for that???

  • maybe they could do this with Obama and Harry Reid…
