John Bolton not only believes that President Trump’s speech at the UN General Assembly was outstanding, but said it was the best speech of his presidency yet.
He explains below:
Bolton said the centerpiece of the speech was Trump’s criticism of the unacceptable behavior of both N. Korea and Iran, arguing that there’s never been a more straightforward criticism of member states in UN history. He believes people will remember that Trump said that if we are forced to we will totally destroy N. Korea. But he also pointed out that Trump said denuclearization is the only acceptable future, meaning we end up with a N. Korea that that has no nuclear weapons.
Bolton said his favorite part of the speech came near the end when Trump said, referring to Venezuela, “this is not a case of socialism being poorly implemented, it’s a case of socialism being implemented exactly the way the theory tells us.” Bolton said that was the most shocking thing in his speech in the context of the UN and that many of those there had never heard such a thing.
