Journal Editorial Report panel BURSTS out laughing when asked if Cruz is the next Reagan

Today on the JER/WSJ panel they sliced and diced Cruz as someone who is just trying to up his profile for presidential elections at the expense of his Republican colleagues and doing it with a strategy that was just bad for the Republican Party, saying he hurt the Republican cause more than he helped it. Never once did they say or even infer that his motivations could actually be just defunding Obamacare. No, it’s about keeping Ted Cruz in the spotlight and creating a political base in order to run for president in 2016.

And then the host of this little WSJ collective, Paul Gigot, asks the question “Is Ted Cruz the next Ronald Reagan?” and the panel bursts out laughing. Jason Riley then responded with a hearty laugh “I don’t think so” and said “Reagan united the party, he didn’t isolate his allies in the interest of self-promotion and that is what Cruz is doing.”
