Earlier we posted the video of MSNBC reporter Katy Tur saying during an interview she had no idea what a congressman was talking about when he mentioned Obama’s “hot mic” moment before the 2012 election. Some thought that maybe she just didn’t want to correct the congressman making the mistake that he did it before Putin and not Medvedev.
After people pointed out how odd it was that she didn’t know about this much publicized moment, she went to Twitter to admit that she had no clue anything like that ever happened.
To be fair, I didnt touch politics in 2012. I almost exclusively covered fires and shootings in NYC area. (1/2) https://t.co/BJ3RCJheIg

And I'd rather be honest about what I know and don't know in the moment. Got off air, did the research, then talked about it at 5pm on MTPD. https://t.co/BJ3RCJheIg

This is what she was responding to:
@StickeeNotes Actually does a lot of great stuff. That was just a head turner because it was such a widely memed incident. @KatyTurNBC

As el Scoopo pointed out, this may not be her fault as much as it is the media’s. This just shows how little the media covered stories that were unfavorable to Obama before the 2012 election, and how they hammered on Mitt Romney. Do you think she knows the dog-riding-on-his-car story, or how he wanted to kill Big Bird, or the “47%” comment? Very likely.
But even if el scoopy is right, isn’t it her job to know these kinds of things? This happened just five years ago! It’s the kind of thing that comes up if you ever spend ANY amount of time around people with at least vaguely conservative political opinions. Clearly, she doesn’t. And I bet she’s indicative of others in the mainstream media…
Also, who wears socks like these?!?!

Monstrous.
