Krauthammer: Harry Reid’s allegation on Romney’s taxes is beyond appalling, it’s disgusting

Krauthammer says that “when the leader of the Senate begins an accusation with “the word is out”, it’s beyond appalling – it’s disgusting!” And the reason he says it’s disgusting is in part because it’s effective.

Yes, it is a pity that it worked. One, I thought McCain saw his taxes when he was vetting Romney for VP. Two, Harry is mentally ill and talking to imaginary people. Three, Harry is a little forgetfull–wasn’t it Little Timmy that couldn’t do his taxes yet managed to pass senatorial muster to head the Department of Treasury?

  • Limbaugh says it’s a trap to have him release it. Since it’s not a 1040EZ and not that easy to comprehend most people are vulnerable to believe the lies of the liberal media. If he releases it now after so much hesitation in the beginning it would seem as though he has no core or conviction and his opponents are pushing his button which is worse that not releasing it.

    • proudhispanicconservative

Then i say do not release it, thats what they want, to portray him as weak, and by releasing them that is exactly as he is going to be seen.

  • sDee

Krauthammer and the whole lot of them in DC need to just stop all the pretending. The town, the government is entirely corrupt and morally bankrupt.

I’ve had it. As far as I am concerned Krauthammer is no better than Reid. He knows what is going on in that town yet he remains silent.

“Omission” is here taken to be the failure to do something one can and ought to do. If this happens advertently and freely a sin is committed. Moralists took pains formerly to show that the inaction implied in an omission was quite compatible with a breach of the moral law, for it is not merely because a person here and now does nothing that he offends, but because he neglects to act under circumstances in which he can and ought to act. The degree of guilt incurred by an omission is measured like that attaching to sins of commission, by the dignity of the virtue and the magnitude of the precept to which the omission is opposed as well as the amount of deliberation.””

    • StrangernFiction

Exactly, the entire town is disgusting. Joining John Stewart, who called Reid “really, really terrible” is not exactly an act of courage.

      • sDee

You managed the same point much more succinctly!

    • proudhispanicconservative

I do not agree with krauthammer on social issues, but this guy is one of the most respected individuals out there in washington, he is only one opinion, its not his job to do the work that republicans and conservatives out there are afraid to do. His job is to call it as it sees it, and to cover it fair.

      • sDee

One by one I am losing respect for them all because they are hiding the truth from America – that we are under the most dangerous and lawless government this nation has ever been subject to. They think we cannot handle the truth, that they are so much smarter than we are, that they have to play out silly drama like tax returns instead.

This is not politics like Watergate or Monica Lewinsky – if this anti-American marxist and his lawless administration and corrupt Congress are not stopped, we will facing the end of the Republic, the Constitution and our freedom. Reid is fully complicit, waiting like a jackal to get his riches, power and seat at the table of a post-American marxist state.

I am just tired of all the intellectualizing and nuance as America is being destroyed from within. Had the likes of Krauthammer had the intellectual honesty in 2008 to explain to America that everything Obama was pure socialism, marxism and islamofacism, perhaps the greatest nation under God would not be at the brink.

        • detectivedick

Both Reid and Romney are Mormons, it is well documented that Romney gave $7,000,000.00 to Charity. How much did Reid give or should I say take from the Stimulus and redistribute? 90 plus days and 90 more off topic subjects from the Jell-O throwing Progressives.

        • proudhispanicconservative

Completely agree but,if it wasnt for Fox and the people there it would be a lot worst, and Krauthammer has repeatedly called obama out for what he is,I know you like me would like it to be more clear, and more forceful, but fox has to look out for their interest, and having people making claims as truthful as they might be (Obama is a socialist, marxist, communist) it is not going to help our cause if fox starts to be ridiculed to be a far right channel, it will trickle down to all of us and people will start to attack us the constitutional conservatives as extreme, and that is not what we want in these very important times in this country. My hope is that in november 06 we show them how extreme we are and we throw these criminals out of office.

          • sDee

I have heard this argument but time has run out.

The media twists everything truth or not. Look what they did to Beck but he told the truth anyway at great risk to his life and the lives of his family. The rest of Fox whitewashed it as Becks ratings skyrocketed. The only problem is that Fox, unlike Chick’fil’A did not stand on their principles when they came after Beck. They caved to the Soros machine, as did their advertisers.

Hiding the truth about Obama is the root cause of the dire straits we are in. Fox is as much to blame as MSNBC. Worse in some ways, because Conservatives trust them. They knew Obama’s marxist communist background before the election. I posted the Sin of Omission above because that is what these elites are guilty of.

What is the nature of your cause if the truth hurts that cause?

            • Completely agree. I’d add that congress- both Ds and Rs, and the media are all complicant for the destruction of this country. The media especially because they are supposed to investigate and inform on all that goes on. They have the means to properly vet someone and they did not do it in 2008, even when regular people were doing so and shouting it from the roof tops. Our congress also has the means and the DUTY to vet candidates, and have the DUTY to impeach when it is shown someone comes to a government office by fraud. They refused to do it. For their own power they refused to admit what they all know, and on the part of the media, they refused to report, dear leader is a fraud.

              • sDee

Yes the press is the lynchpin. None of this would not work without them, and that requires news as a fine art of propaganda. And that is the element common to all despots.

            • proudhispanicconservative

I agree that the media should be doing their job. Unfortunately they are not so you have to fight it intelligently. I am disgusted with the media too, I feel sometimes that we are in North Korea or Cuba, etc and the media in this country is turning into the state media. But as far as all the news channels i believe Fox is the only one that at least is not so biased, and we have to thank god for that. And I am very hopeful that we are going to be able to say something about that come november and I believe that The america that I love will not die so easy without a fight.

              • sDee

You and I will then have disagree on Fox and set that one aside 🙂

As long as you question them, I have no doubt that your fight will eventually bring you to see what they really are.

                • proudhispanicconservative

We all love this country and will fight for it. All I know is that we will win and win big.

              • StrangernFiction

“Fox is the only one that at least is not so biased, and we have to thank god for that.”

You can thank god for that, but I doubt seriously that God wants to be thanked for that.

You keep on fighting the “intelligent” fight phc.

    • sDee, I don’t want to embarrass you, but you really are my intellectual hero.

      • sDee

aw shucks. And you my friend are my reminder of spirit of those who come to America to make her great.

    • hbnolikeee

Yet he remains silent? I thought this video was Krauthammer slamming reid on this?

You want to be pissed off? I’m with you, but Krauthmmer is quite smart and his reasonable and in his statements of philosophy.

If you have links to video or articles that show him to be otherwise, I’d be interested in seeing them.

  • proudhispanicconservative

This guy is one of the most intellectual geniuses out there and for him to say that tells you how low the comments like his were. A lot of respect for this gentleman.

  • StrangernFiction

Call Obama disgusting Krauthammer and you’ll be on the way to earning my respect.

Sorry but Uncle Harry’s ploy was not effective…it was a puerile ploy fit to fool only the gullible gossips. Anyone with two brain cells in close proximity could see through his little game.

Give it up, Harry. Your ploy was pathetic and your desperation is showing.

    • proudhispanicconservative

Agree, to me it did not work and is gonna backfire on Harry Reid, we should have him examined for dementia the calls are going to get bigger.

  • FreeManWalking

Romney has nothing to loose, and everything to gain (Like respect) if he would stand up and Call Harriet wimp as a Reed out as the LIAR he is and force him to deliver on the confidential source. The MSM can’t demagog him any more if he just stands up and gives them a 1,2,3 punch back every time they throw the crap on the wall to see what sticks.

  • 911Infidel

I wonder if Hairy Weed has released his tax returns? Oh wait, no he hasn’t. The last thing that he needs people to know is that part of the reason that he’s worth 50 m bucks is because of insider trading. And where oh where does he hide his money? Couldn’t be offshore now could it? Could be. And my source tells me that the pet goat that Hairy hides in his office is named Vickie.

  • Nukeman60

It was obvious what Reid was trying to do. The media badger Romney about it and all ask the same question (from their cue cards) – “Why don’t you just release the taxes, to put an end to this.”

What I think Romney should do, the next time a reporter asks that obvious question is say, “To put an end to this, why don’t you ask Harry Reid for his source. Don’t bother me with Harry’s problems. It’s obviously a lie. Ask Harry why he would lie on the Senate floor.”

  • FreeManWalking

Someone said they saw him Raping Pages behind his desk, or was that ripping pages, oh well bring up on ethic charges because we all know he is a CROOK.

    • 20Chitowndemrevenuestream12

maybe ripping his pants while picking up his fake nose.mustache and glasses

  • proudhispanicconservative

My fellow conservatives, these people are desperate, throwing stuff at the wall hoping they stick, this only tells me that their internal polls are telling them that they are far behind as seen in Rasmussen polls, Romney 47% Osama 44%. when romney starts to decline in the Rasmussen poll then I will be worried, till then I think we are ok, also they do not know that the sleeping giant is just waiting to get out and in november we will throw these pigs out office, and send reid to the back in the senate where he will become less meaningful.(He already is)

    • white531

      I agree.

  • If I were mittens, I’d say, “I’ll release mine if Timothy Geithner releases his…. OOPS! I forgot, he did and it shows that he’s a tax cheat. Yet here he is, the head of the Dept. of Treasury. Gee harry, didn’t seem to mind him publically admitting he’s a tax cheat did ya?” Then I’d say, “I’ll tell you what. You have your source come to the house floor with you and tell Congress what he told you. I’ll be a good guy and not bring a lawsuit against either one of you, since discussing a private citizen’s tax information is a federal offense. How about it harry?”

dingy’s got a lot of nerve.

    • white531

I think the correct reply is, “you show me yours and I’ll show you mine.”

    • Jay

Geitner? How about if 0 releases his college transcripts, real birth certificate, selective service and explains why his social security number is from Connecticut? Timmy the Tax Cheat is nothing but a pilot fish, we need to go after the shark.

      • I don’t think dear leader’s the shark, but I agree. Only thing is, he should have been asked before he was annointed by the rinos. Ah, maybe some day we’ll find out how he went to Pakistan when travel there was banned for American citizens.

  • white531

It’s a simple fact. Republicans don’t know how to fight with the gloves off.

    • sDee

You hit that on the head. Some just seem to be on permanent defense ceding the game before the kickoff. Others just feign resistance and then throw the fight. Others just appear corrupt.

The one thing I noticed at all the early big rallies in DC was the reaction of the Congressmen who came out in the street with us. It truly was something they had never experienced – a sea of America citizens in the street standing with them.

We can never doubt ourselves, never turn back – and we can never, ever fail to support and stand with those few politicians with the courage and principle to fight this evil that we call a government.

      • white531

sDee, as you mention, there seems to be a new group of Politicians approaching Washington cautiously. I like Allen West, Mia Love if she makes it and several others that we sent up to the Cesspool in the last Congressional election. But I am not about hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams don’t have any place in running a country like the United States of America. Ask most politicians in Washington a direct question, you get wiffle waffle. Ask Colonel Allen West a direct question and in a heartbeat, you get a direct answer.

“we can never, ever fail to support and stand with those few politicians with the courage and principle to fight this evil that we call a government.”

        I most certainly agree.

  • white531

Of all the criminals in Washington, including Obama and Pelosi, Harry Reid is the absolute slimiest, most lizard-like among them. Just watching him speak, disgusts me. Just a thought, what do you think Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin would think of Harry Reid?

    • sDee

    • Jay

They might say that statement was an insult to lizards.

  • anyonebutbarry2012

of course we do not see boehner the useless speaker saying a word. he needs to go.

  • E. Lee Zimmerman

In days of old, Reid’s schtick is precisely the kind of thing that would get a politician censured by the body he’s supposed to represent. These days? Sadly, it’ll never happen.

  • sjmom

This is where Mitch McConnell needs to take the Senate floor and say: Ok Harry I will make you a deal. When Barack Obama releases his real birth certificate, grades from Harvard and the truth about his past associations I will call Mitt Romney and ask him to release his tax returns. Deal Harry??????? Will McConnell do that? No, but I can dream can’t I?!

  • white531

I don’t agree with everything Chris Christie believes in, but God, wouldn’t you just love to see him take Harry Reid apart on the Senate floor with all the World watching? I know I sure would.

    • sDee

Speaking of Christie – I read this today. That man keeps digging himself one helluva deep islamic hole to climb out of one day. They must really be filling his pockets.

NJ Gov Christie hosts Ramadan dinner, reaffirms support for Hamas-linked imam

      • white531

Like I said, I don’t agree with everything he believes in. His position on Muslims and Immigration is a sadness to me. I just like the fight he has in him when he’s pissed about something. That being said, I don’t think he’ll go much further politically.

    • kong1967

Lol, that would be hilarious. Christie would eat Reid alive.

  • Mike Lee

Romney should be punching back twice as hard at Reid. Talk about corruption in DC and out of touch senators. Talk about a budget not being produced for over 3 years! Put out some commercials about the dirty, corrupt, lying sack of sh!t. How did Reid amass $10 million net worth? Whatever. Don’t take it lying down. FIGHT BACK against this POS.

  • I doubt anyone believes that Obama has not abused the IRS and retrieved Mitts taxes. Harry Reid has no doubt seen them. But if Reid says what he saw then he would hang himself and beak laws that Obama could not save him from.

Thus Reid says this to try to force Romney to prove him wrong and get out the information Reid actually wants out there.

My guess. Heavy contributions to Democratic Groups. But could be anything. Proving he was a Democrat though would destroy his credibility with the base and do the most harm.

    • kong1967

Pure pure pure speculation with nothing to base it on. Reid has Romney’s taxes illegally and Romney gave heavily to Democrat groups. Same tactic Reid is using.

  • GEDouglas

Not only is it disgusting, Ried broke the law (again) when he did that. Campaigning on the senate floor is not allowed.

  • denbren52

Word is out that dirty Harry has not answered any questions surrounding the baseless charges of child molestation in his Senate office.

  • Army_Pilot1967

Harry Reid is a vile, mean-spirited man who is more interested in hurting Romney’s campaign than he is in helping America recover from the failed policies of obummer and his useless administration.

  • anneinarkansas

Dirty Harry is beyond disgusting and dirty….Nevada and the Senate should be embarrassed. Many in Nevada probably are but Senate Dims are probably proud.

  • bjohnson55

If Reid does not apologize and take back the slander then Romney needs to sue Reid’s pants off (sorry for the ugly visual) or as in olden days challenge him to an old fashioned duel.

    • kong1967

He can’t be sued. Since Reid made the accusation on the Senate floor he cannot be sued for libel.

      • bjohnson55

Then duel it is or at the very least a good ol ass kicken.

        • kong1967

Lol, that reminded me of that Democrat….oh, crud…what’s his name(?). He challenged a guy to a duel on t.v. and it was hilarious.

  • kong1967

It’s bad enough that Harry Butt Reid made the accusation at all, but it’s dispicable when he uses the Senate floor to do it. He is protected from libel, and he will not make the accusation out in public. That in itself says that he’s lying his arse off. If he believed what he was saying he would say it in the publica arena. He is literally using the Senate floor to break the law and get away with it.

  • Sometimes our reaction to these types of things is wrong. And I’m guilty too. I get shocked when I see Harry Reid do something like this. But in reality, should we be shocked?

If you walk into a fenced yard that has a pit bull, and you get attacked, are you shocked? If you buy a watch from a guy in an alley and it turns out to be a fake, are you shocked? If you watch Bill Maher and he says something vulgar, are you shocked?

Instead of getting shocked, we need to get angry. It’s okay for us to be angry. We should be. And we need to channel that anger into fixing the problem. And the only tool that can be used to fix the problem is our VOTE. The Tea Party was angry in 2010 and they took their anger to the voting booth. I just hope there are a lot of angry people this November!

  • MrMicawber

I don’t think it “works” except for the drones who are already dead-set against Romney; for everyone else, it just pisses them off and makes them want to back Mitt even more.

  • Patriot077

Didn’t Rush say that Romney should just say that he has released his tax forms – to the IRS?

If the IRS hasn’t had any questions it seems pretty clear that the guy isn’t breaking any laws.

  • Reid is Right as Rain: and Willard is all Wet.
‘Cause we all have a damn RIGHT to see a Presidential Candidate’s tax returns!
Confession is good for the soul Mitt. So Release your Romney Returns …OR… just go back to playing “dressage” with your pet ponies! We’ll understand, I promise. Unless… perhaps….just perhaps…you’re hiding something dear Willard?
    Just asking.
P.S. Sooo Mr. Mitt: just how DID you manage to stuff all those millions into your tax-loophole IRA account?… while the REST of us poor smucks have strict limits? Inquiring minds want to know.
And you want even MORE tax cuts for you and your rich buddies, Mitt?
WHAT GALL! These fat cats aren’t satisfied- they want it ALL! …EVERYTHING!!
Mitt baby -please- take my advice: if you want to run for dog-catcher THEN keep your precious returns, … and just clean off your car roof. 🙂
OTHERWISE, put up, …or shut up and go away ….preferably BEFORE the convention.
The super-rich think that they have the God-given right to do anything they want in this great country -while the REST of us get screwed!
ENOUGH!!! The divine right of kings ended a long long time ago Mitt.
And so should your so-called candidacy.
