Krauthammer piles on Ted Cruz, says a child could have predicted his objection wouldn’t do anything

Krauthammer piled on Ted Cruz last night, saying not only did his objection not do anything and that a child could have told him that, but that he’s to blame for Harry Reid getting in those 40 nominees:

How intellectually dishonest can Krauthammer be? Mike Lee, who initially objected last Friday night has plainly said that his objection was not just an objection to Obama’s illegal amnesty, but an objection to the closed door process from whence this $1.1 trillion monstrosity came. There was never any amendment process to make this bill better either in the House or the Senate. This bill was crafted in secret and House and Senate members were told to shove it down our throats.

Secondly, Cruz knew that their objection wasn’t going to stop Obama’s amnesty from staying in the bill. But he thought it was important for all Senators to go on the record about how they feel about it, especially given that Republicans have all pretty much said it was illegal or unconstitutional. So yeah, perhaps it was making a statement, but sometimes statements need to be made and motives need to be exposed.

Lastly, for Krauthammer to suggest that Reid wouldn’t have gotten his nominees approved other than for Ted Cruz’s objection is intellectually lazy. Harry Reid would have pushed the nominees through after the big $1.1 trillion omnibus passed and kept Senators here a day or two extra and he Krauthammer knows it.

Krauthammer can be brilliant when he wants to be but he can also be nasty when the wants to be, and this was just nasty. He knows better.
