How would you describe a political commentator who believes that Tea Partiers “have no sense of moral decency”, once said the conservative movement “has no coherent belief system”, and admires Barack Obama in part because of his “perfectly creased pants”?

Well, if you’re the mainstream media you would put that commentator – David Brooks – solidly in the conservative category. No, seriously! Anyone to the right of a guy like Brooks is on the fringe. Loopy. Extreme. And the media loves this, because Brooks bashes the Right pretty much all the time. Just like they do! How convenient.

Kudos to Charles Krauthammer for setting the record straight here. Listen as the panel reacts to the news with nervous laughter, like children being told for the first time that Santa Claus isn’t real. So precious.

Somebody must be weaning Krauthammer off the Kool Aid!

If Krauthammer thinks he’s moderate than he must be a liberal. You see it’s all subjective my friends :)

    • Anonymous

I got a kick out of your pardoxical logic. You make the objective assertion that “It’s all subjective.”

RINO? I thought Kraut was a Democrat. He worked on the Mondale campaign.

Uhhh, you’re not a Conservative, either, Krauthammer. I guess this is one of the cases where it takes one [phony Conservative], to know one [phony Conservative].

    • Anonymous

That’s how I see it. I think part of it is that the establshment media members are so far to the Left, they often see centrists as “conservative.”

To be labelled conservative by them, all you have to do is reject one or two pieces of Marxist dogma.

    • Anonymous

Agreed…but I think he is finally getting fed up with the duplicitous and deceitful ways of the left…he may surprise us as we approach 2012.

    • Patrick Allen

Krauthammer’s further to the right than Brooks, but neither of them are exactly rock-ribbed conservative warriors. Indeed.

Krauthammer needs to, oh how they say, STFU!

Rinohammer calling the kettle black that’s racist

Totenburg laughing like a hyena in the background, I’m sure. Charles isn’t much of a conservative, either.

I believe Krauthammer to be a very smart, right-leaning moderate, but not a complete conservative in today’s sense. I think there is a delineation that has been more pronounced since 2008 between establishment elites and conservatives. Both can wear the Elephant badge on their chest, conservatives being centered in principles and elites centered in their belief in the “system”.
I think at his core he has conservative thought and principle, but he has had difficulty over the last 2 years getting grounded in it vs. how the elites traditionally have corrupted and run the party. Sad.
Overall, I think he is one of the most talented people in his industry.

Krauthammer has CONSISTENTLY been of the opinion that , higher taxes on gas and oil will encourage Americans to “conserve”. Brooks is NOT a conservative, but , a liberal Democrat, who plays a conservative in print and on tv.

David Brooks is a moderate, huh? He’s open to all views. Except conservative views.

There is no compromise between liberty and tyranny.

Conservatives need to stand firm, and not let weakling repubicans convince them to compromise with their own destroyers.

I always thought it was an inside joke that he was a conservative. He has NEVER come across as a conservative to me. Its amazing that it took Krauthammer and other this long to figure it out.

A mmoderate? Good grief, if he’s the definition of moderate, I’d hate to see the definition of liberal….never mind, I can only take so much nonsense at a time.

The media elite knows nothing beyond the universe of Manhattan and the Beltway.

They believe deeply that they define and represent the center of all things political, social and moral.

So a “moderate” is someone who is “open to all views”? Like the “great columnist” David Brooks?

This really kills me. Liberals have absolutely no problem insulting, ridiculing, and dehumanizing conservatives. They go on national TV and threaten conservatives with bodily harm. Liberals openly and sincerely wish death (the slower and painful the better) on any person who is even a little bit to the right of center. Liberals routinely and consistently demonize minority conservatives with the most racist, sexist, homophobic language there is. And they do it proudly with the complete conviction that all conservatives are Evil and their utter hatred is not only justified, but cannot possibly considered hate because everyone knows that if a liberal believes something to be true it is true and therefore can never be considered hate.

And yet a conservative, even a half-assed one like Charles Krauthammer, can’t get through a single sentence containing a valid criticism of a liberal without first making sure everyone knows how much they like, respect, appreciate that person. David Brooks may not be a “conservative” columnist, but by God Charles Krauthammer will make damn sure every knows he thinks he’s a “great” one.

Laura Ingraham likes every liberal she talks to.

Bill O’Reilly makes sure everyone knows he respects Geraldo Rivera no matter how many women Geraldo threatens to spit on or how many other pundits he threatens to punch out.

Sometimes I just wanna hurl. It would be so much easier to go back to being a mindless liberal.

OK, that’s twice in a day Krauthammer has been kinda right. (Brooks a moderate???) so that would be a double up, Chuck. If he keeps on this track, he may be a conservative by the elections in 2012.

  • Anonymous

You’re still wrong Charles; David Broojs is a JOKE!

“He’s open to all views.” I guess CK willingly stated that Brooks isn’t Conservative (duh), but he appears to have a man-crush on him in some way. Obviously us narrow-minded Conservatives are NOT open to other views… Well, maybe we have evaluated other views and deemed them to be false or incorrect.
I constantly play Devil’s Advocate with Conservatives but the reality is that they are RIGHT! (in so many ways…)
Can someone enlighten me as to how CK got to be such a voice of the Right? He certainly doesn’t speak MY voice.
