Life turned UPSIDE DOWN: Nuclear engineer arrested for handgun despite CCW permit

This is insanity. Jeremy Preston owned a glock with a CCW permit from Tennessee and made sure the state of Delaware recognized his CCW before he went driving in Delaware. But that didn’t stop a police officer and AG in Tennessee from arresting Preston, saying his CCW expired when he got his Delaware driver’s license, and now because of the arrest his job in the nuclear industry as a mechanical engineer may be over:

DPR – Jeremy Preston is protesting his arrest for carrying a Glock handgun when he was pulled for by Middletown police calling it “outlandish”.

The weapon was stored in his glove compartment and the 33-year old showed the police his permit obtained in Tennessee.

But the Wilmington News Journal reports that the police told him that his permit had expired when he got his Delaware driver’s license – something that he says he never knew anything about.

Nor did Tennessee officials inform him that his permit had been canceled.

Preston has no criminal record but said the arrest has cost him legal fees and could jeopardize his $100-thousand-plus a year job.

He works for a Wilmington company that services nuclear power plants.

He contacted the News Journal telling them that he had been stopped by Delaware police in the past without incident about the gun permit.
