Major college football coach talks about his Christian faith…and it’s AWESOME!

No matter how you might feel about the Clemson football program (I’m a big fan), I think it’s really hard not to like their head coach Dabo Swinney and how he constantly puts his Christian faith out there for the world to hear.

Yesterday he was asked in a press conference by a reporter to talk about his faith and he was quick to oblige. And it was awesome.

Watch below:

I love hearing just how deeply important following Christ is to him. You can tell he’s not just someone who says it because it’s the right thing to say, but he lives it. He’s not just discussing his faith in order to proselytize. It just overflows because his faith is part of who he is and how he lives his life.

I also love his point about how, when he meets his ‘maker’ one day, Jesus won’t be talking to him about how many football games he’s won or how many trophies and awards he’s received:

I really think he’s going to hold me accountable on how I took advantage of the opportunity and the blessings he gave me, the impact I’ve had on young people, and the type of men we develop through a game.

Exactly. Swinney knows what really matters and it’s not the fortune and fame he’s received from being a very successful head coach. He’s got his eyes on Jesus and that’s why I really like the guy so much.
