Levin says that if the system is going to collapse on August 2 if we don’t raise the debt ceiling, and he doesn’t necessarily believe that it will, but if that’s what’s going to happen then he says let’s get it over with now instead of passing it on to our children and our grandchildren or even letting it happen in 10 years from now when it wIll be even more difficult to bear. He says we can’t keep ignoring the debt, we can’t keep kicking the can down the road. The time is now to deal with it.

Let it collapse:

As a bonus clip this is the monologue that came before the Let it Collapse segment. It is awesome:

I agree with Mark. I’m tired of it hanging over the country. There is plenty to cut in this government, and if they refuse to do what is right, let it go.

    • B-Funk

Hate to admit it, but it’s kinda like pulling the bandaid. Do it quick and get it over with.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SZJVCG3SITNBFKWV4S6BVXDRKA Saira

Agreed – one quick bankruptcy – a return to the gold standard and we’re back to work with a currency that has governmental discipline built into it.

        • B-Funk

That, and a balanced budget amendment. I just hope it’s conservatives that get to catch the country when the money fails. Otherwise it might be soros and his goon squad.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SZJVCG3SITNBFKWV4S6BVXDRKA Saira

ahem – Ron Paul has been saying to liquidate the debt for a very long time now. It’s amazing how Levin doesn’t like RP – but all he does is speak his language.

      • Anonymous

Some of us are funny that way. We don’t like people who say we had 9/11 coming.

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SZJVCG3SITNBFKWV4S6BVXDRKA Saira

Some of us understand what it means to submit to the constitution – after all – they swear an oath to it to obtain office.
If you go to war – congress declares the war (something that has not happened since WW2) and then you do whatever it takes to win as quickly as possible and then you come home.
RP never said we had it coming. He identified, quite logically, why we were attacked.
If Christians were to actually read the Bible and truly understand the way to conduct warfare – we wouldn’t get into these Vietnam type mires with no end and financial devastation for all.

Thanks for the laugh. I love being lectured to by someone who had no problem writing that “Some of us understand what it means to submit to the constitution”.

You don’t have the first clue what you’re talking about. Try listening to Mark Levin. Maybe you’ll learn something.

            • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SZJVCG3SITNBFKWV4S6BVXDRKA Saira

Levin is brilliant mostly – he just disregards the constitution when it suits him.

Your response is irrelevant to my response and indicates who is truly clueless.

              • Anonymous

Thanks again. Like I said, you don’t have the first clue what you’re talking about.

                • Anonymous

Well since you keep espousing that no one except you has the first clue, why don’t you give some examples of the clues we are missing? Or maybe you have no arguement, just like libs and would rather try and poke holes in eveyone else’ theroies.

Are you a Saria sock puppet or do you always take comments to others as a personal affront to yourself?

Anyone who says Mark Levin “disregards the constitution when it suits him” is obviously clueless.

I thought the same thing when Obama was creating Gov Motors. And bailing out Freddie/Fannie May. And thought it again w/the stimulus and the 2nd useless stimulus. i guess what Im really amazed at is how many ignorant people there are out there. And it scares me. Those people who voted oloser in will prob do it again. god help us help ourselves. Talk to everyone you know respectfully about voting conservative.

He is more than right. This a very exciting scenario.

I believe the Central Government is easily 3 times larger than it needs to be and there are many departments that can be completely eliminated.

For me there could be no better news than to shut ‘er down. Let the states, businesses and citizens keep the money, and America will skyrocket like nothing history has seen.

    • Anonymous

The first one on that chopping block should be the Dept. of Ed. That way maybe we will be able to salvage our next generation from the obamaZombie group think mentality.

Obama is playing chicken, he wants an additional 3 plus billion dollars. What is the market cap of Apple (317 billion) Exxon (400 billion) GE (200 billion), so for less than a Trillion dollars one could own all three. But Obama wants 3 plus trillion. For what? where is the Federal Budget ?
The hell with the private corporate jet issue, a family on public assistance in Maryland lives at the median income level. If you take Housing, Energy, Healthcare, Food stamps, free cell phones, free daycare…etc and convert it all to a gross income (before State, Federal taxes) a NON WORKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FAMILY LIVES AT THE $65,000.
Mark you are correct, let the system fail because Obama has created this failure. Some steps to impliment could be, freeze the unobligated 2009 Stimulus funds, reduce all Federal employees pay by 7%, close the USPS one day a week, within 90 days deport all illegal aliens that are working in this country and require that these jobs be filled with USA citizens, The Treasury could offer a 2 year 6% bond to USA citizens and repatrioted USA Corporate holdings from overseas accounts. This would give the Congress and Senate enough time to fund the Government and work with a new Preisdent in 2013.

Well, if the current news about ignoring the debt ceiling is any indication, I don’t think we’ll see the government be starved of money. I believe they will go on with business as usual.

Obama is in full out demagoguery mode.
The Republicans in Congress know this, and know that the message from Obama & the Dems is this:
“Whatever we do, or don’t do, we’re going to blame it on You.”

This is what will make many of them want to cave in, and raise the Debt Ceiling.
But I pray they don’t give in to the intimidation.
    I agree with Mr. Levin.
    Let it collapse.
Shut down the bloated Fedzilla and let the people see how much of it we can do without.

The encouraging thing that has happened lately, is the thing with Mark Halperin.
If the Editor of Time magazine is coming to the realization that Obama is not the great guy that he thought he was…then, maybe the demagoguery is wearing thin and even his most ardent fans are starting to see that the Emperor has no clothes.

      Fedzilla…good one.

Mark Levin makes a really good point. Although I’m pretty confident no visitors to this site voted Obama in, the fact is, it is your generations that did – not future generations, so it is your generations that should go through the resulting chaos his policies have wrought.

By the way, I’m in no way preaching – we have the exact same **** in the UK, brought about by the exact same weirdos who think that it is only right and proper to tax hard working individuals to fund social engineering projects amongst other things.

  • Anonymous

I revere Mark Levin but I have to disagree with him on this one.

The Democrats have done a great job of using the 2010 “shellacking” to advance their own goals. They’ve set up the perfect “win-win” scenario.

With a Republican controlled House they know anything that happens will be blamed on the Republicans. If the Republicans don’t agree to raise the debt ceiling, Obama is already on record saying that Social Security checks won’t go out, veterans won’t get their benefits, and defaulting on the debt will have a catastrophic and unprecedented impact on the country. The Democrats want a default. They are in charge. They are in control. They will make sure that a default is just as devastating as the worst case scenarios that can be imaged and will take that opportunity to implement the regulations and policies that will fulfill the “fundamental transformation of America”. The Republicans will agree to anything at that point because they will have the best interests of the country at heart while the Democrats won’t care how low the country sinks as long as they get what they want.

If the Republicans cave to the Democrats demands for tax increases to raise the limit and avoid a default, the electorate will blame them for being spineless hypocrites and the whole “both sides are just as bad” meme will probably mean a third party challenge in 2012 which means a Democrat victory.

The Republicans have played this all wrong since they took control in January. They should have done nothing except regular bills to repeal Obamacare and cut spending. They should have held hearings on every aspect of the Obama administration no matter how small. They should have harped, constantly and consistently, on the stimulus and where the money went.

If the economy collapses under Obama this country will never recover. He won’t need a second term to finish what he started.

I don’t see any way out of this.

    • Anonymous

I have to disagree, if the repubs tow their own party lines of less gov’t lower taxes and reduced spending they will survive. The dems have been playing this class warfare, rich vs. poor, victim mentallity for 70 years. I believe that enough Americans are no longer buying that snake oil.

      • Anonymous

I hope you’re right but I’m surrounded by liberals and they believe everything they hear from the media.

The Democrats have played the Republicans like fiddles. They have set the Republicans up to fail no matter what they do. If they stand their ground and the federal government shuts down it’ll make the media demonization of Bush 43 after Katrina look like mild by comparison. If the Republicans cave to tax hikes it’ll piss off the Tea Party and probably lead to a 3rd party run that will ensure Obama’s re-election and Democrat majorities in both chambers.

Ann Coulter has said “never underestimate the Republicans ability to screw up an election” and she was right. They’ve backed themselves into a corner where their only argument is now entitlement reform. What utter idiots. Barack Obama and the Democrats have pushed this country deeper into debt than all the previous administrations and Congresses combined and the Republicans are arguing about Social Security and Medicare. Absolute idiots.

Does this mean the entire government will be laid off? Gosh, would that be great!!!!

      How about permanently?

The collapse will happen no matter what. Just a matter of time. Debt is UNSUSTAINABLE.

And on that happy note: HAPPY INDEPENDENCE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Better we take the hit than our kids and grandkids!

It should have gone down in 08. No bailout of companies, unions, bankers, and wall st. We’d be starting to claw our way clear of the debris by now. The pols felt guilty they had insisted on creating the bad debt housing bubble, so they took care of their friends and themselves, the rest of the country be damned. The housing debacle has been in the pipeline a long time (Carter). Now, they plan to inflate their way out of the debt. It’s interesting, the rise in net worth of the pols in the last 2 years while the rest of us are suffering being dragged behind the limos.
    Harry, Barry, & Nancy!
