Levin really likes that Sarah Palin is focusing on crony capitalism and that she’s standing up for the little guy, me and you:

With all the fire that’s been going on since Ingraham and Coulter took their shots at Palin, it’s nice to hear Palin get praised on substance by someone of Levin’s caliber. Sure, some of us can get caught up in the talk about when she’s going to run and how tired we are of waiting. Indeed, even I have expressed a little weariness in waiting. But the truth is whether she announces tomorrow or in two months, I will be glad to see her enter the race.

She is a heavyweight in politics. She’s done battle in her state of Alaska against the crony capitalists and won. She’s always stood up for the little guy in Alaska, whether it was keeping the big energy companies from railroading the state or taking on her legislature big-wigs by going line by line and vetoing excessive spending out of their budget. She has a record that can stand on its own.

I know there are polls that say this or say that about Sarah Palin. But much happens in politics that seems to confound the wise and I really believe that once she jumps in, the whole game changes. And I look forward to that day.

If she runs, everyone duck! The left will make the Exorcist look like a Disney movie in comparison to the head spinning, green vomit, all hell will break loose, attack against this woman.
The left are possessed/oppressed…I really believe that, and when satan’s tools are threatened…all hell does break loose.
There’s hope with God, Sarah Palin knows it, God’s people know it and satan knows it.

As soon as I heard that stupid Hoffa crack, I thought of what Sarah had said that very same weekend. She looks like a grown up and he looks like a foul-tempered drunk. And he walked right into it!

She will announce by end of September. There really is no difference between announcing 2-3 weeks from today, or today. In these 3 weeks, the candidates past records will not change. I understand people wanting her to announce so they can jump in 100% and support her, but it makes no logical sense for people to be upset with her not announcing yet when they already support other candidates anyway.

Staying out of the first couple debates when Romney, Bachmann and Perry go at it may be a wise strategy.

You’ll want to watch the viewer numbers spike when Palin is debating compared to previous debates. That will be the indication that America’s listening…. not the poll numbers. It’s gonna get real interesting however.

Don’t know if she will jump in or not. but since Bachman has lost altitude, Palin could come in as the female candidate.

Sarah Palin has never done what the pundits say she should do. She went against the norm in her Governership. She was stiffled as a candidate for VP by McCains handlers. I remember that she wanted to go after Obama and they would not let her because McCain would not let her. She is on her own now and she is in charge of what she does, when and where. People can speculate all they want but as I see it just sit back and watch what she does and what she says. I feel that she is now a seasoned political person that has figured out how it works and how to make it work for her. Every thing that she has done indicates she cares about this country and the people that live in it. It is a mistake to put time lines on her, she is very, very savy now. She now walks in her own shoes and is making history for the future of this country. It is going to be amazing what occurs to this country when she runs and wins. There is going to be a long period of uphevel for she is going to shake the establishment down to its roots. Think about what has to happen to get this country back on track.

Welfare has to be tackled and that is going to be the hardest change. People have the wrong belief that it is thier right to receive it. It will go to the streets for people will fight it.

Taxes have to be cleaned up, people that have paid to play are going to fight the change.

Regulation will have to be reigned in and the regulators and those that want it to make people and companies do what they want will fight it.

SS will have to be changed to something that keeps those that have relied upon it able to keep faith in it and those that are coming to have something when they get there. It will be a fight.

Obama care will have to reversed and Health care will have to be reformed. It will be a fight.

Education has to be reformed and made to educate our children and that will be a fight.

The EPA will have to dealt with and that will be a fight.

To many problems to cover them all in this reply.

She is releasing her stand on these and other problems of this country one at a time, when she has finished letting us know what her stance is and given us time to consume here stances, then she will announce. She is going around the Establishment and the Media talking directly to the People. I love it.

I just wish every other candidate was/is scrutinized like Sarah. I would live to see what would be found in their emails? I just had the priviledge to watch the documentary about Sarah on Directv, and absolutely loved it. What other candidates have taken on their party and big oil, and WON!! If that doesn’t say all that needs to be said, I wouldn’t know what else to say. It is my humble opinion that their is no other candidate to vote for to attempt to straighten out this mess. I do not care who else is running, because in my mind she is and has been the only person who has not drifted from her core principles. (No skeletons in her closet) And that is the only way we will be able to straighten out this mess.
    God help the USA!

Yes, why go after her (she’s not even a candidate) and never on Obama? What is it about her that stirs up such foaming-at-the-mouth hatred?

I’ve heard my lib co-workers gripe about her and all they can say is “she’s stupid.” Really well thought out complaint there, huh?

And yet, Sarah has had “reporters” digging through her garbage and her emails, only to rage against her when they realize she has nothing to hide. It’s like Daniel in the Bible: when they couldn’t find anything to accuse him of, they made up a rule for him to be guilty of.

Thanks Mark, for coming to Gov. Palin’s defense. (It shouldn’t be necessary.)
The people who want to marginalized her NEVER mention her many accomplishments as a nearly two decade politician. Slashing the budget in AK, taking on the permanent political class (from both parties), fighting crony capitalism, putting government back on the side of the people.
The lady talked substance and what she’d do over the weekend, but the elites (Krauthammer, Baier, Ingraham, Coulter, Kristol, Rove, Morris etc.) refuse to mention her many successes. Sarah scares the living daylights out of the phonies.

I spent night duty on the Palin-bashing thread of the week over at Ace’s place (So you don’t have to). I like how when I mentioned Mark Levin, the old “he’s an entertainer” line came up immediately.

It was kind of a weird vibe. Ace popped up out of nowhere, and called me names for namecalling-without-actually-calling-names, and even went on to claim my non-called name (which was implicitly deduced to be “RINO”) was sort of like when the left plays the race card. I suspect he’d been at the Twitter wars a bit too intensely, since he’s usually a bit more careful in his comments.

It was epic. To quote a funny line from Mr. Humphries, after being snapped at by Captain Peacock in, “Are You Being Served”

I’ve never been spoken to so forcefully in my life. I quite enjoyed it.

Anyway, a splendid time was had by all. All of the usual PDS nonsense, I mean. Mostly it was about how awful Palin’s supporters are. Those awful, terrible people. You know who I mean. They aren’t ever in THIS thread, you see, but they are everywhere, of course. Just awful. I mean, we like her, but… all those awful people. She should go back to being a cheerleader.

Levin needs to stay healthy. He’s one of the few who seems to “get” it, without being distracted by all of the crazy out there. I’m sure he’ll go back to being annoying at some point, but for now, he’s right on target.

    • http://www.solitudeholdings.com/blog1/ Dan C

I don’t go over there anymore. It is too juvenile.

      • Garym

    • puma_for_life

      I think Rush “gets it”.

      • Anonymous

Oh, I wasn’t excluding Rush, exactly. Here’s the difference:

Rush isn’t willing to say some of the things Levin says. I think he would if he were as well-read in the classic philosophical texts as Levin. Being as well-read as Levin is something that makes it a hell of a lot easier to know exactly where you stand on some of the more complex issues. Especially in the more granular, odd sorts of things that pop up within the bounds of a particular issue.

Those old, dead philosophers figured out a lot of important stuff.

Of course, Rush has done some reading, I can tell. But not from the standpoint of being a scholar (an expert knows a lot about a subject; a scholar knows everything that’s currently known about a subject).

Levin hasn’t done a ton of scholarly research in the last ten years, I’m guessing, but a lot of what he’s done is revisit his old research (which was thorough), and brushed up on some new stuff, as well. It’s almost as good as doing it full-time.

In fact, now that I think on it, it was after his book Liberty and Tyranny came out, that he stopped being as annoying, and started being right on point. I think he found his focus, and he’s gotten a fresh influx of important thinking done on something few people have time to bother with: the origins of “rights,” Liberty, natural law, and the complex issues involved in courts, the Constitution, and the founding.

        Sorry for the long response.

    • puma_for_life

Good job. Ace has lost his freakin mind. Why the fear of Palin? Does he hate Evangelicals?

      • Anonymous

No, Ace is a very smart guy. He can see down the road farther than most, and is really worried about the nasty pothole coming up called 2012. I think he’s frightened that the Tea Party is going to derail the election and cause an Obama win.

Where he hasn’t gotten to–with that long vision–is where Mark Steyn has thoroughly explained we are heading: in simple terms, if Obamacare isn’t repealed in full, without adding some half-a$$ed “replacement,” then the American Moment is over.

Ace doesn’t believe that. But he’s young.

Steyn is unassailably correct on this. I’ve seen it first-hand, in Britain, Australia, and in Canada.

Guys like Newt, Romney, Huntsman, Pawlenty, and other beltway favorites (possibly including Ryan, and I’d add Christie)… they won’t kill Obamacare. It won’t be “practical.” It won’t be “absolutely necessary.” It will just need some tweaking. Some reform, because reform is much easier to sell in COngress than full-scale repeal. So guys like that, they’ll accept half-a-loaf, and tell you it’s manna from heaven.

So it doesn’t matter if Obama wins or Romney wins, because Obamacare will stay active in some form, and the Commerce Clause will abrogate the rest of the Constitution.

Now, Ace doesn’t buy any of that.

He thinks getting a Republican majority is enough to fix everything.

Mark Levin is totally correct here: we MUST elect the most Conservative candidate possible. But Ace thinks that’s a recipe for disaster.

I say those sharing Ace’s viewpoint are like people worried about the noise under the hood just before sailing over the cliff.

But it doesn’t mean Ace wouldn’t support the nominee.

        Another long answer. Dang.

Levin is a true Constitutionalist. His appearance in The Undefeated, which I suggest everyone see before they make their final decision to vote for a presidential candidate, makes clear that Palin is his choice for President because he knows she is the real Constitutionalist candidate and that she is the Reagan of our times. I believe she will announce this month and will have the wide support of the independent Tea Partiers and conservatives across the land. Palin 2012!

  • Steven

Palin/Scoop 2012! Thanks Scoop for your honest and informed support of Sarah Palin! She’s the only reformer in this republican field!

I have an observation on the meltdown of these Establishment types and their media acolytes like Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter. These people support Mitt Romney. It was evident last night that despite Ann Coulter incessant calls for Christie that she really supports Romney. I’ve noticed this too among others who just don’t want to come out and say they support Romney (like Rove, O’Reilly, Allapundit, AoS, etc). So they throw out names like Ryan, Christie, and Jeb Bush, but never have anything bad to say about Romney.

Last night we saw these two women reveal their true stripes in attacking Palin and promoting Mitt Romney. Its the same with these bloggers out there. They all support Mitt Romney. Some going back to 2008 and some because they’ve brought into the whole electability line that suggests only the Establishment’s candidate is electable.

But make no mistake about it, the Romney camp is petrified about Palin entering the race because they know their man is weak. They also know that Palin far from siphoning votes from Perry is carving her own space in the race with her crony capitalist message which is distinct from Perry’s message. That means that Romney could be looking at third place when she gets in and that will impact his standing in NH. Palin giving her speech in NH to a crowd 4 times bigger than the one Romney spoke to, has these people alarmed and concerned big time!

So Palinistas, I say, let’s call these people out on their support of Romney (who else do you think they support in the field?). They don’t want Palin to run, because they want Romney to win, it’s that simple. And don’t fall for their faux outrage about Palin supporters, because they are using that as an excuse for not liking Palin. Please, they never supported Palin to begin with and had no intention to. They are simply trying to shut her supporters up and dampen her support among those who maybe on the fence. Let’s be assertive in setting the record straight and calling them out on their support of Romney. Palin 2012, Accept No Substitutes!

I DO believe Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham were both saying she should get in the race so we could stop with the speculation and see the numbers (which have really been the same for her, two years running). Isn’t THAT what they said?

She won’t even say whether she is in/out and it’s past Labor Day. Many people have moved on an solidified behind other candidates. Even if they had been in the Palin camp, they’ve moved on to another. Maybe they’ll return, probably unless their candidate drops out, they won’t.

Like the guy at RedState wrote this morning (he’s moved from Palin to Perry), it’s like leaving the Church of Scientology and being tracked down, with some of you people.

Palin is the most vetted candidate, has the best record, and the most name recognition. There’s no reason to jump in early. A few months from now will anyone remember tonight’s debate??

      Why waste money now?

Also if Sarah was already in for the last few months she’d be the spotlight and the media wouldn’t be vetting Dick Perry and Mittens.

Sarah’s won quite a few big elections. I trust her instincts a hell of a lot more than Mrs Ted Baxter and Mrs Christie!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/John-R-Schuh/100001894380487 John R Schuh

Well, if Palin intends to come in, she needed to see how big a splash Perry made. And further, to see how will Bachman was doing. Perry has jumped to the head of the line, but Bachman’s support has actually dropped. I doubt that Santorum can hang in there for much longer. Huntsman is a lesser Romney. Cain is holding pretty steady. Paul has his core group which is every less mainsteam, than scientologists. Paul can, however, rest assured in that his war against the fed is beginning to catch fire. The Stuff that Paulsen and Bernanke did may or may not have saved the system, but simply by introducing a deus ex machine that shored up the copplase that began in 2005 when the house of cards created by fannie and freddie first started to collapse.

I watched Sarah Palin make her speeches over the weekend, with glee. I cannot wait till the time comes for her to announce. And she will. It was inspiring and patriotic how she invoked our national pride and at the same time called out the President for his supporters’ rhetoric.

As the new election season starts rearing its ‘ugly’ head again, I am quite amazed at the racial tones being invoked recently by many in the Democrat circles. Although given how Obama has been raised and trained in Marxism and Socialism, it’s not the surprise that it should be? In fact, we actually got our first taste of the campaign to come from Obama, after the arrest of Professor Gates two years ago. It’s now become more unsettling seeing the next phase of Obama’s campaign, in which I truly do find it disheartening. The ‘class warfare’ on the rich and the corporations is nothing compared to Jimmy Hoffa Jr.’s rant before his introduction of Obama on Labor Day. Here is why I fear for what may be coming? It’s another ‘civil war’ of ideology that played out in this country nearly 150 years ago. The emotions leading to that war were in fact, rooted in the differences of states’ rights, political and economic principles, not to mention slavery.

So here we are, once again, fighting over those same principles today. But what Hoffa said, has raised the hairs on the back of my neck. At the moment, I’m trying to understand his thinking, in declaring a war on those who do not see his same point of view. He has in fact, declared that anyone who is not a union member is either unpatriotic, un-American or in their view, terrorists. So I have to ask the question, are all family members of union workers, who are non-union, terrorists? Is it alright for families to fight amongst themselves? Brother against brother. Father against son. That’s what we have before us. The call by Hoffa brings to mind those same tones that were a part of the fabric of the American Civil War. The numbers of union memberships are indeed down, by their very own figures. So that would indicate that many people in America are non-union. So how do you justify a war on a group of people who may be part of your own family?

This has got to the most unsettling of political attacks by any leader regardless of political party or organization? How does the President call out a situation so recklessly, without knowing any of the facts, and yet be so silent on a disturbing statement while standing by waiting to be introduced at the same event? It is no longer about differences of opinion with Obama. He has, by his litany of talking heads and supporters, declared war on his own country and countrymen. When the time comes, God forbid, another attack to this great country, our president will not know how to bring the country he tore apart, and ask its citizens to stand together. This is the failure of his leadership. This is the failure of the Democratic Party and its supporters. A short-term fix while not taking into consideration the long-term consequences.

    RUN, SARAH, RUN!

This battle was already fought in Wisconsin. We won they lost. Wisconsin also happens to be where Palin declared her intentions to run when she said. “It starts here, it starts now, Mr. President, Game On.”

Palin knows what she is getting into.

It’s a stain of disgrace on this country that Obama was ever elected. He is using race to continue to divide people and some of the people are using it as an excuse for violence and class warfare. Face it folks-there will always be evil, hate filled people in this world and we will be fighting them until the end of time. Soldier on.

If Sarah starts marching around IA and NH in October – Feb the elites on both sides will quack in their boots and crap in their pants. Sarah having conversations with folks in coffee shops, diners, attending church God forbid. She will be a factor she is a natural at retail face to face politics. Watch the CSPAN of her speech in IA. However skip the speech and watch the interaction with the folks after for 40 minutes and you will see. Homer Simpson beats Obama so the GOP is choosing a President not a candidate. Sarah was the first and only one to blast Hoffa. This is a war and Sarah is a proven warrior and has been more than vetted. If she does not run she will be a leader against the Obama agenda and not take the ball and go home. Run or not she is going to be very busy for the cause.

Absolutely right about that interaction with the crowd after the speech. I have seen her close up, from six feet away, as she interacts with ordinary people. She has this ability to make total strangers think she is glad to see them. I think she really is, at least at that moment. They say Bill Clinton had the same knack, but it is more than just focusing on the person they are greeting. I certainly have never seen a politician who showed such ease.

Sarah is the light which makes the cockroaches all come out and scatter. She’s exposed the pathetic actions of the left and right, and those who continue to rail against her is only because of the fact that they know she’d be a hard candidate to beat. Run Sarah!!

Notice how over time the candidates announce earlier and earlier? And then we hear folks complain about the “permanent campaigning” (I remember hearing that about 15 years ago). But it appears that the political pundits and political consultants just love these looooong campaign seasons because it means jobs for them

Sarah went to Iowa for a speech. She went to the state fair. She went to the C4P meetup in Iowa. Sarah Palin RAN in Iowa. She had the premiere of Undefeated in Iowa. And now a speech in NH.

Yeah, ok… she’s obviously not running and doing all of this to support another candidate. Suuuuure. Who runs a marathon in Iowa to support another candidate? She could have ran anywhere. And Todd went with her to Iowa. Why? He’s the smoking gun. If Sarah Palin were to support someone else, what is Todd doing there? Sure, he could be there every now and then. But why be there at the meetup? Why did he go to the state fair? Why would Todd be involved in supporting someone else? Todd’s endorsement doesn’t carry much weight for anyone but Sarah. Is the movie Undefeated to support someone else? Once you start looking at the specifics of what Sarah is doing w/ respect to endorsing someone else, it becomes obvious it makes no sense.

Why do people hate the Palins (really it is just Sarah)? Because Sarah is as real as can be, there is no fake about her.
And she does not talk down to anyone, she says what’s on her mind.
She loves her family and is deeply in love with her husband Todd and Todd is still deeply in love with Sarah. To some that is a disqualifier and because of jealousy and envy, they will tear them down just to make them selves feel equal or better. REALLY!!!
Sometimes wisdom is much better than intellect but when you add intellect to wisdom, you have a leader and that is what I see in Sarah.

I would truly like to know just how much Laura knows about what kind of “studying” Sarah Palin has been doing over the last couple of years. I really think not much. She’s spent so much time understudying for Bill O. she’s starting to sound like Ted Baxter too. Maybe if she made an effort to talk to Palin instead of about her she might have a little more cred. Ann, don’t belittle our admiration for Sarah and then slobber all over the RINO Gov. from N.J. Your conservative credibility has lost a lot of ground recently. In short ladies, if you don’t want it stepped on. don’t stick it out!

Should I even begin to understand why the likes of Ingraham and Coulter would take shots at Gov. Palin ( I don’t know what was said and it’s not worth my time to make the effort). Could it be that they, in some fashion or another, are woven from the same cloth as the permanent political class? Makes me wonder.

    From Sarah Palin’s FB:

This film is not about any one person. It’s about great American values – like our indomitable optimistic pioneering spirit – that will always see America through no matter how tough times are. It’s the spirit of our Last Frontier, it’s the story of how Alaskans fought corruption and won, it’s the story of the spirit of the Tea Party Movement, and it’s the story of a people’s movement for reform. I’m grateful to these filmmakers for telling the story.

And she didn’t need a teleprompter for that speech.

And witness how many people pressed forward to get her autograph, shake her hand, get a photo taken with her, just be near her and tell her how much they love and admire her.
There is no other person in American politics who inspires the kind of reaction that Sarah Palin inspires.

  • Anonymous

Finally, one of the talking heads talking about the points that Sarah Palin made. Jeeze, is it so hard to just comment on the substance of the speech and not about whether she is a candidate.

Coulter and Ingraham can go to hell. There I said it.

    • Anonymous

I agree 100%. To me Coulter and Ingraham are a disgrace to the conservative/Tea party movement! These two clowns bash a great woman for what? Because a bunch of biased polls don’t look good for her when she hasn’t even declared, hasn’t even been in one debate yet?

Instead you have Coulter pushing one of the biggest (both physically and figuratively) RINO’s out there in Christie.

And Ingraham backed Romney last time… maybe she’s doing it again? You know what, who the hell cares, both of them can go to hell just like you said!

    There’s something about Sarah.

One thing that hasn’t happen ,since Reagan, is conservative talk radio will finally be able to get behind a candidate without having to make excuses.

Yes I know Rush was the biggest voice in the 80’s,still is,and Hannity’s been around 10 yrs and a whole bunch of newer host. I didn’t forget you Mark.

    Rush,Sean,Mark are the 3 I’m focusing on.

    • Anonymous

I think Levin will endorse Sarah

Decent chance Rush does. He’ll talk favorably about her, but may not endorse her.

Hannity’s been fair to Sarah, but he won’t endorse her. He’s too much into the mainstream and keeps saying what a great field we have. This is sad since Hannity won’t call out Paul, Huntsman, Perry, and Romney the way Levin already has.

I loved that the “Great One” praised Sarah’s speech and played a couple of clips. He also linked to the full speech on his site. Good for Mark!
Sarah’s speeches in Iowa and in NH were fantastic. She is the real deal and is the only one in the GOP lineup who has the ability to begin to turn this great country around.
The beltway establishment RINO lovers like Coulter (Christie) and Laura (Mittens) are fools. As for the polls, as Sarah said, polls are for strippers and cross country skiers.
    Go Sarah! Go!

I never thought I would see the day that Ann Coulter would go down on her knees before the Liberal MSM and utter “Masters, thou hads’t told us that the Palin woman is unworthy, we give thee thanks for this boon and doest as thou command”.

Poor Ann. And I mourn her passing.

Even while Palin waits to formally announce her intentions, she is not wasting any time in campaigning. She has already announced a formal 5 point doctrine on guidance of decision making regarding military intervention. And last Saturday she announced a 5 point plan to restore the economy. She also identified cronyism as the underlying disease in DC. She will treat the disease and not the symptoms.

So she is doing the things that campaigns do, without the formal announcement. When a candidate formally announces, all the stupid little campaign rules change. So if she can lay all the building blocks without the formal announcement, why announce?

  • Anonymous

As to the notion that Palin is losing support to other candidates, let’s be clear about what we are talking about when we say “support”. Support consists of campaign workers, both paid and unpaid, donors, and voters. It may be possible that some paid campaign workers may sign contracts to work for other campaigns, and some donors may contribute to other campaigns, but voters don’t do anything until primary day. And they can change their minds any time up until that day.

So she doesn’t lose votes, she may lose some early campaign donations, and the professional talent pool my be smaller. But keep in mind that the pool is fluid. We’ve already seen a full very organized campaign staff simply released by Pawlenty. Gingrich’s staff all quit. Bachmann’s staff was shaken up. As campaigns flounder and dissolve the talent pool will continue to be re-fortified. When it gets down to 2 or 3 candidates, there will be a lot of politics pros looking for work.

So Palin really doesn’t lose significant support by waiting to announce.

  • Kristy Patullo

Sarah Palin will be relentlessly dogged once she finally gets in the race. I don’t blame her for waiting. She’s very smart. She knows what she’s doing. And God bless Mark Levin. He’s standing strong with Sarah Palin. He knows she’s the voice of the conservative movement.
