Mark Levin: Welcome to representative, constitutional government … NOT!

While The Great One is on vacation, he’s certainly still monitoring this facade we have going on in DC and had this to say a little while ago:

Negotiations in secret. Most of Congress not involved. Obama making fascistic pronouncements during a propaganda event this afternoon surrounded by a handful of Obama-selected representatives of “the middle class” applauding and cheering his class warfare demagoguery. No spending reductions, or at least not of any consequence. So taxes will go up, spending will up, borrowing will go up, and we will be told that “the adults” have finally reached a “deal.” Wall Street will cheer. Welfare recipients will cheer. The media will cheer. But the federal government’s finances will continue to spiral out of control, threatening our entire way of life and society. And we, the people, or at least tens of millions of us, will be mere spectators in the whole damn affair, while we are told this is all being done for our well-being.

What a complete disaster!

      Good idea! Welcome to 2013.

  • RKflorida

Sorry to say so, but that sums it up. 35 minutes left in 2012 and this is how it ends. Worst yet is the near certainty that 2013 will be worse.

Not looking forward to ’13. Last decade has pretty much sucked we have by far the most corrupt Congress and White House in history. By ’16 ppl will be praying for ’12!

We are screwed and there are no Jedi Knights, Lone Rangers or Jack Bauers coming to the rescue. Theoretically one would say its on us to fix things but Nov6th proved how doomed we are…..

Sorry to be downer but Im tired of well wishes, think positive psycho-babble we live in reality and its a nightmare

  • And like a giant underscore to Mark’s post, we have “Constitutional Law Scholar” (prepare to puke) Louis Michael Seidman writing an Op Ed in the NYT about giving up on the Constitution, for reals! (safe link to Legal Insurrection)

    • PatrickHenrysBody

Pieces of trash like Seidman are what’s wrong with the country. They are the problem, not the Constitution. It’s their obsession with sidestepping the Constitution that is their problem. Their obsession with political correctness that is pulling the flush handle on the toilet of a government they have been and are creating. It’s their obsession with hating their country and everything it stands for that drives them to goose step to the chants of “Yes we can”, “Forward”, “Hope and change”, and all the other warn-out catch phrases and platitudes. They with their so-called “progressive” ideas, which are more regressive than anything else. People like Seidman are a cancer that must be excised from this country. They’ve metastasized throughout the whole country on every level of government and it will be difficult to eradicate them. People like Seidman are who they are: dangerous country killers. They are slime.

    • Watchman74

These sort of things sadden me and make me mad at the same time. We have the greatest constitution ever created by man, it allowed for unprecedented freedoms and paved the way for us to become the most powerful nation in all of history. And now these oikophobes believe the grass is greener on the other side. They don’t deserve to live here, they deserve to live in North Korea, or Somalia, or some other hell hole.

      • The way they are going, North Korea is going to seem like paradise to them. Worse, they seem determined to turn us into North Korea.

    • NJK

He calls himself a Constitutional Scholar or became one, for the same reason I’m reading Rules for Radicals, and Thomas Jefferson read the Koran, to know your enemy, and how to fight them.

  • Sober_Thinking

And this monster goes on and on and on…

Someday, we’ll get a government again.

This is sickening. Seems like a joke to say “Happy” New Year. No one is happy but the crooks, communists, and corrupt media.

  • Sober_Thinking

To K-Bob’s post… People like this ought to be deported.

    • PatrickHenrysBody

Yes, deported to the nether region.

    • Orangeone

Deported in a recycled urn, not even worth the plastic for a body bag.

  • Depends on what “our well being as spectators” is.. is!
thanks Mr Levin, sadly we get it!,got it! and filled up to our ears for the past four years, with it!
Sounds as though it’s near time to bust the bubble before the bubbleheads bust us.

    Happy New Year All

“It’s an alternate universe. No, this — this place is a joke. I mean, bottom line, this is an absurd process,” Johnson said on CNBC. “It certainly proves the genius of our founding fathers that government should be limited. I mean, the fact that we have this place having such an enormous effect on our economy, on people’s livelihood, is wrong. It’s simply wrong.”

Keep making noise Senator and call out your statist Republican colleagues. There are a whole lot of Americans that will consider you a hero if you do.

    • Conniption Fitz

Mega-points for Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin)!

    • conservative58

SF — Thanks for the great link.

  • RedDaveR

At this point it’s probably better to just go over the cliff. The people (at least 51% of them) voted for this, so maybe they all need to start paying for it.

No good options for the GOP on this, just a choice of the least of the evils. And even going over the cliff is better than one of these phony “deals”.

    • CalCoolidge

Keeping in mind that “over the cliff” means the budget will be immediately balanced.

  • So did they agree to a deal? And there are no cuts? Not even reductions in the growth of spending. Isn’t that GLORIOUS!?!?

    • capelady

Pretty much… and Obama is bragging that he wants more taxes on the rich and he has no intention of making any significant spending cuts unless he gets them… so it is all moot! We should just go off the cliff because if they cave in to Obama on this, it will empower him even more and he will never stop!

      • PatrickHenrysBody

His arrogance will one day be his undoing…and it might be sooner than he thinks!

      • according to him, everybody who works is “rich” and has to give to those who don’t want to, so ALL taxes go up.

      • cabensg

I read for every $1 of spending cuts there are $41 of spending.

        Go Galt!!!!!

  • repubboy

Over the Cliff, Obama and his minions, the MSM, and the idiots in congress should all be fired Today ! It’s time to to end the tyranny of the boy king.

  • white531

A country full of intelligent human beings, being led by idiots. Who are the intelligent human beings, and who are the idiots. The more time goes on, it’s getting harder to tell.

    • PatrickHenrysBody

Educated idiots, who are worse than blithering idiots because they know exactly what they’re doing and the consequences, but they allow their so-called intelligence to get in the way of true problem solving skills and critical thought processes.

      • liberals are educated beyond their intelligence, that’s the main problem with their pseudo-logic, e.g. never can foresee the consequences of their half-cooked ideas

        • Conniption Fitz

The liberal leftist political-agendites have devalued and dumbed-down education…just like they have devalued the Nobel Prize.

Two generations ago, children learned Latin and Greek in high school.

Nowadays, under Obama, there is a sick sexualized and communist-tainted programme fed to our children instead of real education.

American children are near the bottom of the scale in the measure of achievement…because of unionized uneducated teachers and their political motives.

          • PatrickHenrysBody

The real losers out of this are as you touched on, the children.

        • PatrickHenrysBody

    • cabensg

I get your point but we are not a country of intelligent human beings. We are a country of some informed, some brainwashed, some progressives, some selfish takers and some who would be on our side if they knew the truth.

      • white531

I agree. I accept your correction. If we only had a media that told the truth and reported the facts, those numbers would be different.

Subject a child, any child, to sixteen years of Liberal educators, and then have them turn on the tv and get the news, presented courtesy of the Liberal media, and you have your average young American who voted for Obama.

Turning around that scenario in America is not going to be easy.

        • Orangeone

Please don’t forget that these children have parents that also went through the indoctrination camps called public education.

          • white531

This is what we are facing. The Third Generation of Liberal Indoctrination.

  • PatrickHenrysBody

The authoritarian infestation in Congress is comprised of arrogant, back-stabbing, subversive, cowardly maggots who underhandedly craft shady deals to destroy this country and twist it into their perverted vision of what they think it should be in any smoke-filled back room, dark corridor, brothel, or dank freight elevator they can find. They know exactly what they are doing. They must be expecting a reward from their globalist authoritarian pals who are waiting in the shadows for the country to fall into turmoil. They are despicable, evil, lying fools and when they meet their demise, it won’t be soon enough.

  • our Congress kings and queens dream about power a la Castro…with the rest of us being poor peasants…
    That’s the socialistic “equality”.

  • Levin is one of the few that will actually come out and say that we DO NOT have a Constitutional Republic anymore. Our constitution has been eroding away since T. Roosevelt and W. Wilson and Obama took a knife to it and sliced it up. This I will ask Mark- Liberty or Tyranny, which side will law enforcement and the military be on?

  • crosshr

This were darn predictable all along. I can never imagine these “arsetablishment” RINO gang capable of doing anything at all constitutional in a normal sensible business nature.
Welcome to the world of politics.

In all fairness as we welcome the 2013, May all our Scoopsters and Scoop be filled with energy and wisdom as we step forward toward all that are handed to us this year. I shall not forget that the LORD JESUS is The WAY, The TRUTH, and The LIFE.

  • aposematic

Article 1, Section 7, US Constitution: “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives, but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”

Doesn’t this Senate Bill violate the US Constitution by raising taxes (Revenue)? Should not all in the Senate be arrested and thrown in jail for violating their Oath of Office? Apparently, our Government does whatever it Damn well pleases ignoring, with impunity, the Law of the Land–the Constitution of the US. We must face the fact that we are being ruled over by criminals.

    • Conniption Fitz

Mega Points for Senator Ron Johnson (R) Wisconsin!

  • Seems like this is becoming a bad habit in Washington. They now tend to pass huge pieces of legislation literally in the dead of night with no public debate and no chance for the American people to even SEE what’s in the legislation. So, according to Nancy Pelosi, you now have to pass it to find out what’s in it. Also, remember that Obamacare was passed during the Christmas holidays when nobody was paying much attention as well. So how much do you want to bet that when they finally have their debt-ceiling vote, it will take place at 3 AM on a Sunday morning and the bill will be passed immediately, without giving the people a chance to read it, let alone have anything to say about it. This is NOT a representative republic. This is No Taxation Without Representation. Hmmm, where have I heard that one before?

… well are we going to just be the SPECTATORS as Levin has pronounced us to be or are the tens of supposed MILLIONS of us going to do something about this FACIST DEAR LEADER El President Barrack Hussein Obama and his minions ? As the PATRIOTS of the founding fathers of the COLONIES took on the mighty military of England and its dictatorial King over taxing without REPRESENTATION . Are we not now in that same predicament being taken down the garden path to our own destruction by a fraudulent DEAR LEADER PART II whose name is either Barry or Barack ? So what will be the answer sit back and wait and see the inevitable downfall of the U.S.A.or to stand up and FIGHT with our BLOOD for the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA and for our LIBERTY !

    • Orangeone

One need only look to gun and ammo purchases to have the answer.

  • Erdnay

Its like blowing up a balloon and seeing how much air you can get into it and how big you can make it before it pops. You know eventually it will pop, but you still keep blowing to see how big it can get before it blows. However when this inflated national debt does explode there will be grave consequences and no one will be laughing. The time to start releasing pressure is now. There is so much wasteful spending going on and nobody seems to want to address it.

  • heavyhrt

    Mark Levin:

Why do you have to be a “just a spectator”??

Why can’t you organize petitions, boycotts, peaceful assembly, things offered by the Constitution? Why do we just sit and complain?

The voting booth is not the only redress we have. The 60’s people are now winning because they did other redress fifty some years ago and are reaping the benefits now.

Why do you think you have to be just spectators? Get out and petition and speak and demonstrate–lead the way.

“Now is the time for all good men (MEN) to come to the aid of their country.”

    That means you.

We need you, now. Please do something…

We will support you and join with you all the way.

  • hramirez18

First Happy New Year. Again, the GOP as the DEM party are a cancer. Why are wasting your time with the GOP and better not invest in starting a new party

  • Wish Mark ran for President. We need a fierce communicator with common sense to fight this fascism that is happening daily in Washington D.C.

  • Winners conquer and rule.

    Losers whine and walk.

  • M_J_S

I love the northeast, but after crap like this, Texas is looking better EVERY DAMN DAY! Any Republican, ANY Republican no matter who it is that helped get this piece of crap passed in the Senate (and if it passes in the House) needs to be fired.

It is time for a third party.

    • aposematic

Tried for treason, violation of their Oath of Office, as this Bill by definition is Unconstitutional as it is a Revenue Bill initiated in the Senate; a blatent violation of the Constitution. But, firing them would be a place to start.

      • Orangeone

Unfortunately We The People have no ability to raise treason charges. And Congress won’t because nearly all of them would be charged.

  • StNikao

Mark Levin cites and agrees with Legal Insurrection’s and College Insurrection’s Prof. William Jacobson’s assessment of the bill –

    LI –

That’s two good heads, legal-fiscal-moral compasses in agreement.

  • StNikao

Has Newt commented on this yet?

    • Conniption Fitz

Levin, Jacobson and Newt, three who we can be sure are thinking clearly, conservatively and for the good of the people and the restoration of this once-great nation.

  • Fire them all.

  • Kilauea50

The house of cards is going to come down and the sad part is, the reason it is going to happen is due to the pride/arrogance of a man whose mission in life is to destroy the Republican party. He simply does not care about a class of people unless they have Republican beside their name. The worst part? The clueless wonders in the Republican leadership are going to aide in their own destruction. I really, REALLY, miss Jesse Helms.

  • Immigrant_from_Socialism7

All those Socialist teachers, students, and Politicians can move to any number of Socialist Communist countries NOW….but they won’t because they wouldn’t survive REALITY versus theory.
But know this, the guy that was reelected will NEVER suffer from what he wants to impose on AMERICANS

    • Conniption Fitz

  • opinionatedhermit

New Republican leadership, or a new Tea Party. Period.

We should not be asking for any tax money from the people, until we get a budget.

No budget … no April 15 payday for anybody….

  • Conniption Fitz

From Prof. Jacobson, Legal Insurrection – “Extra-constitutional power is what they’ve always wanted (Update — blaming those ancient ‘white dudes’)”

Republicans and Democrats ignored the Constitution just allowing the Obama presidency, but this bill originating in the Senate is clearly unconstitutional.

  • NJK

They voted yes, why? To let the left see that “the rich,” are now starting to pay their “fair share?” Those businesses making over $400,000.00 who were recently soaked with taxes from the seizure of the health care industry, and now this? And this will keep the govt. running for how many days?

For the first time in my life I’m ashamed to have to call some people Americans. How sad. I can no longer support Republicans, simply because they call themselves that. Does anyone know why Ron Johnson voted for this?

What do we do? I become more disillusioned by the day, that so few will step in and stop this.

Rand Paul, please run for President. I can’t vote for the slime in their now. Your dad didn’t get it, but I’ll be you can.

  • Anyone know when Levin is off vacay?

    • white531

Scoop just posted a new thread on Mark. He’ll be back Thursday.

  • lostdutchman

“People” like Seidman are the possible exception to the correctness of the First amendment.

But wait! He did expose himself for the sort of far end of the alimentary canal he is to those of us thankfully outside his circle if acquaintances. I retract my previous possibility of an exception.
