New York City mayor DeBlasio blasted Jeff Sessions for his statement saying that New York City is “soft on crime” because it’s a sanctuary city. He said it was an insult to the New York Police Department, and called it absurd.

I’m not sure if the NYPD would back DeBlasio too much, given that they’ve literally turned their backs on him in the past. I’m willing to bet that there’s a lot of cops who think NYC shouldn’t be a sanctuary city and it doesn’t help deter crime, but the news never reports stuff like that.
