The Mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia has confirmed via Twitter that at least one person has died in connection with the protests and counter-protests in his town. As we reported earlier, there was a vicious car attack on protesters, and multiple other vehicle incidents reported. Additionally, there have been many physical altercations, fights, and violent arrests.
The mayor did not say what caused the death.

Many outlets and reporters are attributing the death to the car incident but I haven’t seen that confirmed by authorities at this point.
UPDATE: Cause of the death and injuries confirmed. It was the car that mowed into protesters (CONTENT WARNING).
