Media Matters uses Aurora shootings to smear the Right

In the wake of the Aurora shootings, Media Matters’ Eric Boehlert is oh so sad that Democrats won’t talk about gun control. Oh so sad. And of course he’s lashing out at the Right to make his case as to why Democrats won’t talk about it by smearing the Right with a paranoid delusion that Obama and Holder are going to take our guns:

Nothing I have to say in response, as of this moment, will be free of an outpouring of profanities. So I’ll just say: No comment.

  • keyesforpres

    I can’t watch it.

The lamestream media really are dumb.

  • 4Hoppes2

“The right wing freakout led by the NRA”, who is freaking out here? If there is any group or organization that desires stricter Crime Control it is the right wing. Real, tangible, effective crime control not emotional speeches about the evil of inanimate objects.

  • Looked at those 2 mugs and could not proceed .

  • DebbyX

It is they that are oh so sad.

And I didn’t even watch it.

  • Nukeman60

When he said, “Obama and Holder don’t even talk about guns”, they all collectively agreed with a “No”. I found that interesting. How do they all know what Holder and Obama talk about privately? And they don’t have to talk about guns publicly, because they are taking care of business under the table.

One wonders if these idiots think that Obama and Holder would publicly discuss whether or not to do more gun-running in Mexico? Or openly discuss the disarmament of the population? I never heard James Holmes openly discussing killing all those people, so should I conclude that he didn’t do it?

What maroons. Useful idiots for Obama.

    • freenca

Holder is in contempt of congress and Obama has claimed exec priviledge about that very issue, the two of them have discussed this several times, likely, to make another public faux pas if they speak up about it. After all Fast & Furious was supposed to be “under the radar”!!
Then the joker killer falls into their laps. ???

      • WordsFailMe

        or sprang from them…

        • freenca

Yeah, that could be a good speculation for a conspiricy fan!! Bill Ayres comes to mind?? You get me, Words!

          • WordsFailMe

There is nothing a tyrant would not do to preserve power. Nothing. FDR, like the rest of them, died trying.

            • freenca

Yes! Have you read “Fredom from Fear” by David M. Kennedy? It is a pretty diffinative work about FDR, But must be read with a healthy dose of skepticism or one would think that FDR was the be all-end all!If one would believe all of it, one would wonder how FDR was not deified.

              • WordsFailMe

I read a littler about him, mostly regarding his activities trying to stack the Court. We survived FDR and we will outlive Obama

                • freenca

Yup! Americans have gone through bad times and bad politicians before. Then they repented their mistakes and rebuilt, better each time, I think we can and will do that again.

  • Constance

Apparently since Fast and Furious did not come to fruition in the way planned – gun control in this country – then Aurora will be the fallback event to shove it through. Nice how Obama could fly to CO and personally visit with the victims’ families, but to this day, he has never once given a crap about Border Agent Terry’s family. His death didn’t advance Obama’s agenda. Funny how lives lost only matter when it benefits a particular political party.

  • Joe

I wouldn’t put it past them to

    Shoot themselves

Then blame it on the Right

  • WhiteGuy2

I think the Democrat politicians should lead by example. Unilaterally disarm and disband their secret service details for good. This would save tax payer billions.

  • CalCoolidge

Why do conservatives go through this every time. Just beat them out them out of the gate. The minute the story breaks, start suggesting this guy is a toxic avenger nut job trying to reduce Colorado’s carbon footprint. Green Kills!

  • With a guy like Eric Holder coming up with a deranged plan like Fast & Furious, it’s no wonder people are worried that he’s on a jihad to disarm the American public. Gun control has been the wet dream of the far left for years, along with socialized medicine. With Obama, they got the socialized medicine. Now they want the gun control as well. Too bad the majority of the American public is not going to give it to them.

  • MaroonRepublic

People need to be reminded that some of the worse mass-murders in America were done by fertilizer, box cutters with jets and in Killeen, at a Lubys, a mad man killed 24 with just 2 handguns.

These facts will will be lost on most because they live too much in the moment.

  • Joe
    • KenInMontana

Perhaps we should thank Jon Voight for being brave enough to come out years back as a Conservative, to show the others that you can express your point of view and survive. Kudos to both of them.

      • I think it helped a little having Dennis Miller change sides. Also Dwight Schultz (“Murdock” on A-Team, and “Barclay” on Star Trek TNG) made his conservatism known back when it actually cost him work in Hollywood. Bonus: Mr. Schultz’s daughter is a Marine!

    • toongoon

I think Ice-T is a good voice to have on the side of the Constitution. Let’s hope he has the temerity to stay there.

  • Sober_Thinking

I won’t watch. These people are sick twisted morons.

    • MaroonRepublic

The left’s argument to ban guns to save lives is almost hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.

Gun murders in the US per year are around 11,000 but contrast that to the 1,000,000+ abortions per year and you would think they would want to ban abortion clinics. Nope, the left rally for more.

  • An observation. To some of the left who wish they could spark some gun control out of this, Behring Breivik lived in a country (Norway) with strict gun control. That did not seem to stop him from pulling off his attack.

    • WordsFailMe

      Nice reminder, Evi L.

  • AimToMisbehave

They’re so concerned about new gun laws, except when it involves David Brock and his armed, non-licensed bodyguard carrying in violation of D.C. law.

  • toongoon

The timing of the shooting probably shouldn’t be overlooked. Too many disconnects where there should be connections and too many connections where there shouldn’t be any.

How a kid on unemployment can buy $20,000 worth of tactical body armor, hardware, ammo, and high tech explosives, and not on anyone’s radar except for a traffic violation.

Dropped out medical school where he was studying neuroscience. I wonder if he was a student or a guinea pig.

    Interesting article:

    • freenca

I wondered that too Toon. Wow! that article says it better than I was going to speculate!

  • bahamianhoosier

Bozo and Hold-me-harder are going to take our guns if we allow it! And give them right to the Mexican drug leaders!! Let them kill Mexicans not Americans!! Esp during an election year! Man wait a year or 2 please!!

    • Bobemakk

Holder and Obama should be in jail for the coverup regarding Fast and Furious. Now they are even inviting the Mexicans to join the entitlement programs in the US. How much is enough?

  • WordsFailMe

Would Obama use the killing of Americans in a public place to divert attention and calm the scorn and open hatred he’d recently generated by his latest blithering-moron, pot-headed insult to American citizens?

Rahmme Emmanuel would put his mother’s carcass in the St Patrick’s Day parade for less. David Axelrod would be wqetting his paint brush along with Holder, Clapper, Napoliotano and Monica Clinton.

I guess the Obamanite really doesn’t have to lift a finger to cover the a** he displays to American. He just slides along, living life in Valerie’s lap. Good thing his entire team knows the buf-foon he is and know how to manage it.

Buf-foon doesn’t really work in this context. Do they have biege-foon’s?

  • guppymanster

Oh my! The scum who led the attempt on Rush and my goodness with that subhuman creature Ed Schultz and we are supposed to believe them? No thank you. Geo-propenquity, scum attracts scum.

  • James1754

Another left wing anti-gun loon heard from.

  • PapaLouie

We Democrats can’t talk about gun control without those right-wing crazies thinking that we want to control their guns. How stupid is that? /sarc

    • kong1967

“We don’t want to take away your guns. Now, hand over your guns.”

Basically, that’s the contradiction they have in their claims.

  • aZjimbo

  • The right thinks Obama and Holder are going to take their guns. They said that Fast and Furious was a project to take guns. They also said that Democrats would try to take their guns with new gun regulations in the wake of the Jim Holmes shooting.

    • KenInMontana

      Might have something to do with the Democrat’s track record;
      Nation Firearms Act of 1934
      Gun Control Act of 1968
      Brady Bill
Crime Bill of 1994 (Assault Weapons Ban)

    • kong1967

All one has to do is look at Obama’s voting record. He clearly wants to destroy the second amendment using backdoor methods. .

  • ram

idiot boehlert better look at his moron bose brock. he his carrying a gun to work and he unstable. watch out brock!!! somebody is watching you. media matter are dumbasses and low life.

  • MediaMorons Is STILL a 501c3 tax exempt propaganda machine. Republicans who are in a position of media oversight should have done something about this outrage YEARS ago!

    • Linky1

It’s a Soros-funded propaganda machine that masks itself as a tax-exempt charity. They have been doing this for years and years and were mainly responsible for getting Beck removed from FOX; they got Pat Buchanan removed from MSNBC and are trying their best to shut down Rush and FOX.

Saying that, one of the presumptive republican candidate’s priorities should be closing the loopholes not just for MMFA, but for the countless other so-called non-profits that are hiding behind these loopholes.

If you look at this site, you can follow the money and tentacles back to these leftist organizations.

      • Bobemakk

Soros should be deported back to his own country for all the negativity he has created to US. He even helped the Bank of England fail with his billions. How much crap can one person get away with???????

        • kong1967

As long as he’s funding the most corrupt political machine on the planet, I’d say he’ll get away with anything and everything forever.

  • Bobemakk

Sure, and Brian Ross of ABC news blamed the Tea Party. What stupidity on his part. Do any of these lefty reporters have common sense????

  • kong1967

Hey, igmo, look at Obama’s voting record. He has a history of trying to backdoor and destroy the 2nd amendment. Now he wants to sign an international treaty that would do the same thing. Nah, we’re imagining things and smearing him with lies. Don’t believe our lying eyes, you say. Bah!
