Meet The Press: Obama, A Bottle Of Whiskey, And A Box Of Kleenex

During Friday’s press conference, ABC’s Jon Karl asked the President whether or not this had been his worst year in office. On Meet The Press this morning, host David Gregory posed the question to his panel of guests, with mixed results.

E.J. Dionne says no, and claims it’s because Obama “stood the tea party down.” One point to sycophancy.

Next up is Ana Navaro, who says Obama better hope this is the worst it gets, or else next year his press conference will require tissues and whiskey. Coincidentally, whiskey in one hand and Kleenex in the other is how Obama watches news reports about Healthcare.gov.

David Brooks chimes in that this is definitely the worst year, because it was supposed to be the liberal opportunity to show the power and effectiveness of government in solving problems and they didn’t do that, which is an understatement of historically epic proportion.

And finally, Robert Gibbs, too, admits this was Obama’s worst year. But he softens the blow with rationale any long time Cubs fan would recognize by saying that next year, next year, that’s going to be Obama’s year.

It’s safe to say in any case, with the implementation of Obamacare and the host of scandals that have plagued the government, it’s been one of the worst years for America we’ve seen in some time.
