Former CIA guy Mike Baker is very supportive of the Trump administration, but even he had to admit that they showed how stupid and naive they were in taking the meeting with a Russian lawyer and a guy who had Russian counter-intelligence ties (we learned today.)
Here he defends Kushner against demands that his clearance should be taken away, but admits that Trump’s problems are “self-inflicted wounds.”
He adds more in this second clip, saying that maybe it would have been reasonable to take the meeting AFTER completely vetting the attendees, but NOT the way Trump Jr. did, with no vetting at all:
I mean, the man has a point. And he used to be a regular guest on Red Eye, so that helps his credibility…
