Mike Rogers on Face The Nation: U.S. Terror Policy has to be more than Hashtags and Selfies

Rep. Mike Rogers appeared on CBS’s Face The Nation this morning and addressed U.S. policy as it relates to Islamit terror groups in places like Nigeria, specifically referring to Boko Haram.

‘This was a problem in 2010 when Boko Haram said they wanted to be part of Al Qaeda. That’s where the problem started. So, this policy, this new ecosystem of terrorism that’s all the way from Nigeria all the way across northern Africa to AQAP in Yemen. all the way over to Pakistan and Afghanistan. You can’t base your policy on what’s trending on twitter. It has to be more than hashtags and selfies.”

Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama have participated in “hashtag diplomacy” over the last week.
