Feinstein's DOA bill in the Senate is the same idea.

I don't want to demean the intelligence of those assembled here this evening, but this is a time honored tactic of the Left. Throw out a simply outrageous proposal, and see how they react.
The response is predictable, and they know it. But a few months down the road, they will throw out the exact same proposal, and believe it or not, there will be less resistance to it.
Finally, they will throw it out a third time, and it will pass.

Compromise on what? Each time the Cotton Conservatives and Rockerfeller Republicans cave, it really means give up more liberty, and pay more taxes.
Real compromise is winning the battle of ideas, and then giving the other side a way to save face. But instead we get this incrementalism you describe.
I am sure there are intelligent people in Missouri. I've just never witnessed any. Pulled off the Interstate one time to get gas, on my way to Florida. All the gas pumps had a car parked in front of them. No evidence of anyone pumping gas. After about five minutes, I went into the store and asked the cashier if she could get people to move their cars, so I could get some gas.
Her reply was, "well, they're buying groceries. When they get though buying groceries, they'll move their cars." I said, "when do you think that might be?" She said, "when they get through buying groceries."
I got back on the Interstate, and I didn't stop until I was out of Missouri.

Can you say facially unconstitutional? IF this statute is enacted, it likely will survive less time than an anti-abortion statute does, like within minutes of signature, a federal judge will likely enjoin enforcement.
If for some moronic reason that law stands, what cop in their right mind is going up to a man's door to get one or more of these weapons? I think most cops would probably refuse to enforce such a law.

Many American's said the same thing about Obama when he said - I'm just not going to enforce or pay attention to laws I don't like i.e. immigration or DOMA.
He sued any state who sued him for not upholding the constitution. He won.
His Commerce Dept. will go after the manufacturers to prevent people from obtaining guns. Don't underestimate this Marxist dictator. He isn't concerned about States Rights.

The more I`m learning about it, observing the progress of implementation, and goals of this "agenda", the More Important I feel it is to Call Attention to this Reality. Republicans should have added an amendment to also prevent public financing of private security for these people, and to ban gun ownership by all public servants......you know, lead by example like we're being forced to do at the international level.
Last I checked...the Constitution of the United States has yet to be revoked! The 2nd Amendment trumps this and I would LOVE to see a high profile lawsuit come out of this! Hope the NRA files a swift and costly suit that will bring this and all other infringing and poorly written laws, based on "feelings" instead of facts, to the trash bin where they belong!
Obama probably wants to make this Federal law. And if Congress turns it down, hey, no problem. He'll just issue an Executive Order to enforce it. But nobody will follow it. Unless, of course, you also get a rebellion thrown into the mix, too.
From what I've read this Bill has ZERO chance of passing. R's outnumber D's what 3 to 1. Does make one wonder what those D's are seeking to gain from that proposed Bill though.
Probably avoiding having to do something significant about Missouri's real problems, just like the Democrats in Congress. ;-)
I'm here in Mo. You're right scoop. Dems totally outnumbered here in the legislature. Never gonna happen. Even if it was the other way around, boy would they have a fight on their hands. I know we have Nixon as gov, and don't get me started on mccaskill, but we're not a blue state. Not right now anyway. Keep it up dems. If you wanna give us more of your seats, we'll take 'em.
I'm happy to see legislation introduced like this and run it's course on the record rather than faux-bipartisan fakery like Obama and Reid's emergency republican nut-busting sessions behind closed doors.

Interesting they are very concern about the LAW, since they (Constitution what's that) and other criminals are exempted.
Why does the left continue to fear plastic, folding/collapsible stocks? Any semi-auto with a folding stock suddenly becomes an assault weapon. But the same rifle with a 'regular' stock is a totally different gun?
