You’d think in a state where there are only 52 Democrats in a State House packed with 109 Republicans, they wouldn’t be so brazen. But hey, if they want to lose more seats in the Missouri House, more power to them:

GATEWAY PUNDIT – Missouri Democrats introduced an anti-gun bill which would turn law-abiding firearm owners into criminals. They will have 90 days to turn in their guns if the legislation is passed.

Here’s part of the Democratic proposal in Missouri:

4. Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:

(1) Remove the assault weapon or large capacity magazine from the state of Missouri;

(2) Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable; or

(3) Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction, subject to specific agency regulations.

5. Unlawful manufacture, import, possession, purchase, sale, or transfer of an assault weapon or a large capacity magazine is a class C felony.

Missouri is as good a place as any to start the next civil war.

    • objective123

Amen – I live here and trust me, either by legal or illegal means, folks have guns. It reminds us of the Wild Wild West.

      • TexasPGRRider

I have some buds in KC who are well respected upstanding citizens. They are also Well armed. We`ll say a prayer for ya`ll. Happy Valentines Day. At least you`re not lined up against a warehouse wall in Chicago in the 30`s….

      • lanahi

There probably was a lot less crime, per capita, in the Wild Wild West where everyone had guns.

    • mediaaccess1

      Hot war

    • 1endtimes2020

It’s easy to see why the Christian people started their Crusades. It had to be stopped by the Church.
Then, after Vatican 2, when the Catholic church became liberal, through infiltration, it actually apologized for the Crusades to the Muslims. OUCH.
Imagine if Americans have to have a civil war, and years later their government apologizes for having fought for constitutional rights.
It’s the same old story. The powerful are only happy when they stand over their ‘servants’—the people They are supposed to serve.

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Spot on!

  • MiketheMarine

And so, the war for our Constitutional Right’s begins.

    • SineWaveII

The author is right. It won’t pass and the democrat’s opponents will use it against them. It will probably cost them votes.

      • 3seven77

        We can only hope.

      • TonyToye

Amazing… this was predicted when right scoop posted a video of gun confiscation in Canada. Except this is happenning at the state-level.

What I worry about is some mush republicans voting for the bill as ‘it’s for the good of the people’.

I do hope this backfires and this Missouri dems lose half of their seats on this.

      • lanahi

I think supporting that would be an automatic vote loser.

  • Stehekin912

    Molon labe

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Agreed!

  • marketcomp

I hope the citizens are prepared to fight for their 2nd Amendment rights to keep and bare arms. Moreover, that right shall not be INFRINGED upon! FIGHT THEM IN COURT Missouri!

    • MiketheMarine

      Or on the pastures……wherever!!!

      • marketcomp

I am all for eliminating! At least we’ll have one bunch out of the way!

    • wallwatchman

Thanks for the encouragement. It won’t come to that though. Dems are totally outnumbered at the Capitol. They’re being stupid, and wasting time and money to boot! Missouri really is a good place. We have so many good conservative folks that live here. We won’t be having this battle, in this state anyway, anytime soon.

      • marketcomp

Well, Missouri is the State that returned Claire McCaskill to the Senate. So always be ready and perpared to challenge these liberals.

        • http://www.facebook.com/charlie.soroka.7 Charlie Soroka

The only reason that Ms. Mc Caskill (I cant use any of those 7 words to describe her here) was returned to the Senate was because Akin said something really moronic to Charles Jaco. Other than that, she was probably was a calling moving companies frantically getting prices to move from DC to Missouri on November 8, 2012.

Hey, I’m from IL, y’all can keep her unless we can swap Durbin for her. Then, at the special election (that would be required) some other democrat probably would get more votes than her all day long. Most us here are civilized, its the Chicago crowd that gives us Southern Illinois boys a bad rap.

          • marketcomp

I think the citizens of Missouri should learn to be more forgiving when someone makes a mistake or misspeaks. And learn to forgive and accept apologies. I want the perfect candidate also but no one is perfect. Not even you. I think Todd Akin is a good and decent man and would have been a better Senator than McCaskill.

        • wallwatchman

Sigh. Don’t remind me:). We tried our best to boot her out, but I agree with ya. We still need to stay on our toes.

They just interviewed the dems pushing this thing, on one of our local radio stations. We have a few good local conservative talk hosts and darla jaye on 980kmbz is one of them. She did the interview tonight, and folks have got to hear it to believe it. How some of these people get elected, I’m just amazed. Don’t know if there is a podcast.

          • lanahi

They are starting to over-reach, thinking their views are more popular than they are. Good, let them.

  • ponderosaIII

Tie the MO legislature to all dems in 2014 like they did with Akin.

    • SineWaveII

      Exactly!

    • Conservative_Hippie

Agreed! We need to fight fire with fire!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/44F4AB4VSCTOCHBMBG4ZWWD5OU Laurel

The Constitution and Bill of Rights do not mean a thing to Democrats unless it is their right to verbal diarrhea that is being questioned. Other than that those documents never even enter their mind when dreaming up, writing, and voting on legislation. “Is it Constitutional?” never enters their minds.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/KYTC7EGQASGOTQYPY2KPC4XCZY Don

Good point, Laurel. One small clarification is there is no such thing as a democrat. First the blue dog democrats became RINOs and left the party. You can tell that by the way they lie to their constituents until the polls close then stab the voters in the back. Blue Dogs = RINOS. Then the progressives/communists transformed the democrats into subservience to socialism/marxism. That is why the Constitution never enters their minds. They are anti-American to the core. There is no such thing as democrats vs republicans, only progressives vs Conservatives. It is REALITY and not going away.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/44F4AB4VSCTOCHBMBG4ZWWD5OU Laurel

You are so correct!!!! This might interest you.

  • Yazz55

It should be amended to state…

    Dear criminals,

Please be advised that if you use a gun to commit your crime in this state, you will not be opposed by any law abiding citizen.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Read this last night. It’s time to take the stand. Folks in Mo, you’re the show me state are you not? Show me what you’re made of. Take your stand. You bet there’s a bunch of us in the rest of the country standing with you!

http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin739.htm It’s a lengthy article, but well worth the read.

  • PatrickHenrysBody

It is evident that Democrappic global authoritarians in the Missouri Legislature are gigantic ignoramuses. They must feel they have the support of the people of Missouri to undertake such a blatant attempt to violate Second Amendment rights. Zero has most likely dispatched his foot soldiers in/to Missouri to foment “support” as we tap away on our keyboards.

    • wallwatchman

I’m here in Mo. There is no support for this. The dems are outnumbered and I believe we have a veto proof legislature too. The dems have been trying to do a few weird things like this lately. I don’t know why. They don’t have the votes. Maybe their trying to remind folks their still here. So hard to tell since they got pummeled in the election:)

      • PatrickHenrysBody

Thank you for the comment, wallwatchman. It’s comforting to read that. Those gun grabbing clowns in your state’s legislature must be very insecure. I will pray that their ridiculous anti-Constitutional garbage gets tabled quickly. :-)

        • wallwatchman

Thanks for the prayers. I know the whole country could use the Lord’s intervention right now. I’m surprised this even came up now in our state, which means any state could be next.

Stand firm everybody! We can do this!

          • TexasPGRRider

Ya`ll Are, and will Remain, in our prayers. Peace be with you….

          • PatrickHenrysBody

You’re welcome, wallwatchman. Keep fighting the fight and I will do the same. The establishment GOP is firmly entrenched here in Wyoming. They do some things correctly and do other things the wrong way (the leftist way). Very frustrating.

      • TexasPGRRider

It`s All tied to UN Agenda 21. The more I`m learnin` about it, the More I`m researchin`. Sounds weird, but it`s a reality….

        • wallwatchman

I’ve just started looking into this agenda 21 stuff. I had heard about it, but didn’t know how deep it went. You’re right. It’s dangerous!

These dems have done this to gain brownie points from the higher-ups in their party, and from the POS in the WH – and, of course, from the LyingScreamingMeejah.
They know full well their law isn’t going to pass.
Here in the UK we call it ‘trying to score a political point’.

  • ryanomaniac

I beg them to keep rolling this %$#@ out. Democrats are committing suicide with this gun control crap and I’m just waiting for the coroner.

Come and get ‘em boys and see how that works out for ya!!

Keep trying to get that Climate Change legislation. That’s like shooting yourself twice and I’m all for it.

      • TexasPGRRider

        My Prayer Exactly !!!!

      • cabensg

But they don’t care. This is the difference between Republicans and Liberals. Liberals don’t care if they lose. It doesn’t stop them. A defeat in a skirmish means nothing in the long battle. It’s like the Unions in Wisconsin. A Republican governor and legislation meant nothing to them. They went for the throat anyway. They lost but it won’t stop them from trying something else. Until we adopt the same attitude and strategy we can’t win.

        • PatrickHenrysBody

That is why they mustn’t only be stopped. They must be eliminated. Not that I am condoning physically eliminating them, mind you.

    • cabensg

Exactly! We’ve got commies coming out of the woodwork showing their true colors on a daily basis. Obama being elected a second time, the MSM in the socialist pocket they all feel like they have nothing to lose. It’s an all out frontal attack from now on. If conservative Republicans running for office don’t realize this and use it against them they won’t win anywhere. The left has taken the gloves off and we need to do the same.

  • 1endtimes2020

That’s what Brian Lilley of Canada’s Sun News Network said would happen in the U.S. Registration leads to confiscation. The government knows the people will not be wanting to go along with their dictatorial agenda, and want Americans to be defenceless. Even if you have guns,… if you don’t have much ammunition, you lose in a standoff. This one world government, new world order stuff is becoming very serious. Obama’s in a hurry to see it happen under his tenure.
Then, Islamobama will probably go home to Islamland and become a leader there.

    • TexasPGRRider

“…new world order stuff…” AKA UN Agenda 21. This is Real folks, and very Much underway worldwide….

      • PatrickHenrysBody

        Indeed!

  • PatrickHenrysBody

Even if this does not pass, it will strike fear into the hearts of informed Missouri residents. I foresee the hastening of departures from the State of Missouri. This will eliminate even more of their precious tax base. Well done, Missouri leftists! Well done!

  • Jim

Why does the left continue to fear plastic, folding/collapsible stocks? Any semi-auto with a folding stock suddenly becomes an assault weapon. But the same rifle with a ‘regular’ stock is a totally different gun?

What is so dangerous about an adjustable stock?

  • tshtsh

Interesting they are very concern about the LAW, since they (Constitution what’s that) and other criminals are exempted.

    • Conservative_Hippie

      True!

  • Conservative_Hippie

LOL, theses Dems can’t be serious!!? That Bill is DOA!

  • misterlogic0013

    NUDGE ..

  • Sober_Thinking

    Foolish on so many levels.

If they are serious and this passes, there will be big trouble. Funny that it would “start” in the “Show Me” state.

    • MiketheMarine

Missouri is, arguably, the place the First War of Northern Aggression started. Might as well be the place we start the Second WNA.

      • greg2318

sounds like a good azzz kicking is going to happen.

  • http://hehasfailed.wordpress.com/ HopeHeFails

I’m happy to see legislation introduced like this and run it’s course on the record rather than faux-bipartisan fakery like Obama and Reid’s emergency republican nut-busting sessions behind closed doors.

    • PatrickHenrysBody

Their trial balloon in MO will be rapidly popped.

  • wallwatchman

I’m here in Mo. You’re right scoop. Dems totally outnumbered here in the legislature. Never gonna happen. Even if it was the other way around, boy would they have a fight on their hands. I know we have Nixon as gov, and don’t get me started on mccaskill, but we’re not a blue state. Not right now anyway. Keep it up dems. If you wanna give us more of your seats, we’ll take ‘em.

  • physicsnut

I thought Dems said they were not going to do that . …

  • Haywoodjbl

    hahahahaha…what idiots…..

  • aposematic

From what I’ve read this Bill has ZERO chance of passing. R’s outnumber D’s what 3 to 1. Does make one wonder what those D’s are seeking to gain from that proposed Bill though.

    • tinlizzieowner

Probably avoiding having to do something significant about Missouri’s real problems, just like the Democrats in Congress. ;-)

  • proudhispanicconservative

    LOL

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

Obama probably wants to make this Federal law. And if Congress turns it down, hey, no problem. He’ll just issue an Executive Order to enforce it. But nobody will follow it. Unless, of course, you also get a rebellion thrown into the mix, too.

  • Marridge

They are screwing with the wrong people.

  • Marridge

Do these dipshyts understand there are lots of democrats that are armed too?

  • notebene

Last I checked…the Constitution of the United States has yet to be revoked! The 2nd Amendment trumps this and I would LOVE to see a high profile lawsuit come out of this! Hope the NRA files a swift and costly suit that will bring this and all other infringing and poorly written laws, based on “feelings” instead of facts, to the trash bin where they belong!

  • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Stewie

Republicans should have added an amendment to also prevent public financing of private security for these people, and to ban gun ownership by all public servants……you know, lead by example like we’re being forced to do at the international level.

  • MadAsHellJack

As a Missouri boy I can tell you this ain’t goin’ nowheres, nohow! It simply shows how corrupt, evil and brain dead the democRats are. They are completely outnumbered both in the state house and senate.

Confiscation of legally owned private property???? Hummm, how may laws they gonna break to do that?? I think maybe all of these lefty idiots in favor of this need to be introduced to tar and feathering.

    • TexasPGRRider

At the risk of having you any More upset, may I refer your attention to UN Agenda 21. The more I`m learning about it, observing the progress of implementation, and goals of this “agenda”, the More Important I feel it is to Call Attention to this Reality. This THREAT is Alive and Well, and disarming America is Very Much a part of the Puzzle !!!!

Many American’s said the same thing about Obama when he said – I’m just not going to enforce or pay attention to laws I don’t like i.e. immigration or DOMA.
He sued any state who sued him for not upholding the constitution. He won.
His Commerce Dept. will go after the manufacturers to prevent people from obtaining guns. Don’t underestimate this Marxist dictator. He isn’t concerned about States Rights.

  • GJPinks

I am so glad the Dems, or is it Dums?? are offering this law.
1.It shows exactly who they are and what they want
    2.It will never pass.

  • FreeManWalking

The mania for giving the Government power to meddle with the private affairs of cities or citizens is likely to cause endless trouble, through the rivaly of schools and creeds that are anxious to obtain official recognition, and there is great danger that our people will lose our independence of thought and action which is the cause of much of our greatness, and sink into the helplessness of the Frenchman or German who expects his government to feed him when hungry, clothe him when naked, to prescribe when his child may be born and when he may die, and, in fine, to regulate every act of humanity from the cradle to the tomb, including the manner in which he may seek future admission to paradise.

Can you say facially unconstitutional? IF this statute is enacted, it likely will survive less time than an anti-abortion statute does, like within minutes of signature, a federal judge will likely enjoin enforcement.

If for some moronic reason that law stands, what cop in their right mind is going up to a man’s door to get one or more of these weapons? I think most cops would probably refuse to enforce such a law.

I am sure there are intelligent people in Missouri. I’ve just never witnessed any. Pulled off the Interstate one time to get gas, on my way to Florida. All the gas pumps had a car parked in front of them. No evidence of anyone pumping gas. After about five minutes, I went into the store and asked the cashier if she could get people to move their cars, so I could get some gas.

Her reply was, “well, they’re buying groceries. When they get though buying groceries, they’ll move their cars.” I said, “when do you think that might be?” She said, “when they get through buying groceries.”

I got back on the Interstate, and I didn’t stop until I was out of Missouri.

  • white531

I don’t want to demean the intelligence of those assembled here this evening, but this is a time honored tactic of the Left. Throw out a simply outrageous proposal, and see how they react.

The response is predictable, and they know it. But a few months down the road, they will throw out the exact same proposal, and believe it or not, there will be less resistance to it.

Finally, they will throw it out a third time, and it will pass.

    This is how Liberals work.

    • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

Exactly. This is why I can’t stand it when Republicans fall for the siren song of “compromise.”

Compromise on what? Each time the Cotton Conservatives and Rockerfeller Republicans cave, it really means give up more liberty, and pay more taxes.

Real compromise is winning the battle of ideas, and then giving the other side a way to save face. But instead we get this incrementalism you describe.

  • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

Over at TheBlaze, commenters said that the Missouri Legislature is Republican controlled, and it doesn’t stand a chance.

Feinstein’s DOA bill in the Senate is the same idea.

But you know Republicans will slowly peel off in support of it, if they can be like Governor Slinky in Ohio, and get a lil’ somethin’ for it.

Which makes me mad all over again. Kasich always seemed a little mushy to me. Now he’s joined the Christie governors in racing toward statism. We need to cut these guys loose.

Much like the Clintons as they were leaving the White House, everything that wasn’t bolted to the floor went out to their U haul trailer. Positively lupine. (look it up) In Washington D.C. the Obama Kremlin workers are acting liken a roving pack of thieves, stealing the silverware from a collapsing federal building. Pelosi says, “Reasons? They say we can find our own damn reasons. It’s not that like we’re lazy, it’s more like the mentality of no longer caring.” The ship of state is sinking and the rats still want the cheese.
