UPDATE 9 – THE LATEST AT 9PM – 28 DEAD, 18 Children – Elementary School shooting in CT

***UPDATE 9: Here is the latest just after 9PM on what we know. Apparently the earlier reports that the father was killed is incorrect. Also the mom was at home when she was killed and Adam Lanza stole her guns to commit mass murder:

***UPDATE 8: Shooter Adam Lanza apparently suffered from mental illness:

Ryan Lanza, 24, brother of gunman Adam Lanza, 20, tells authorities that his younger brother is autistic, or has Asperger syndrome and a “personality disorder.” Neighbors described the younger man to ABC as “odd” and displaying characteristics associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

***UPDATE 7: Here is the latest from Fox News as of just after 4PM EST. They also report that they are now being told the shooter is the brother Adam Lanza:

***UPDATE 6: FOX NEWS CHANNEL just reported that it’s possible that Ryan Lanza was not the shooter, but that it was his brother Adam Lanza. This has not been confirmed. And the count is now up to 20 children dead among the 26.

***UPDATE 5: The shooter’s name is Ryan Lanza. Both his father and his mother have been found dead now. His father was found dead in Hoboken, NJ. The believe Lanza killed his father first, then drove to Connecticut and killed his mother before finally killing between 18-20 children at this elementary school.

***UPDATE: 3 & 4: The Livestream is over and few details were released, including official numbers on how many killed. Megyn Kelly did report that most of the children dead were in a Kindergarten class. The Principal and school psychologist are also among the dead.

Also, there may not be a 2nd shooter as the Sheriff did confirm that the public is not in danger.

***UPDATE 2: According to Fox News Channel the death toll right now is 26 dead, including 18 children and the dead gunman who was possibly a parent. They are also reporting that a 2nd gunman is now in custody.

Stay tuned.

***UPDATE: Here’s a graphic someone tweeted out showing at least 14 children are among the 27 dead:

Just as I’m about to post this, a CBS tweet goes out saying the number dead may be upwards of 27:

Here’s the latest actually reported:

WABC — A state official confirms that more than 12 people, including children, have been killed in a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Friday morning.

The exact number of deaths is unknown, but a gunman is said to be among the fatalities. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton says at least three people were rushed to Danbury Hospital.

Police report that the school is now cleared of shooters, but they are still treating it as an active shooter situation and all schools in the district remain locked down. There are unconfirmed reports of a second shooter, but it is unclear what happened to that gunman.

State police officers have gone classroom to classroom to make sure the school is clear. Authorities are searching the area, doing roadblocks and checking suspicious vehicles out of an abundance of caution. There are also unconfirmed reports that authorities have surrounded a purple van in Danbury that may be connected to the shooting.

The first 911 call reportedly came in just after 9:40 a.m., stating that multiple students were trapped in a classroom with a gunman, who authorities say was an adult who had at least two guns. The school locks its exterior doors during the school day, so it is unclear how the gunman or gunmen gained access to the building.

Students were escorted from the building and evacuated to a nearby firehouse, and a reverse 911 call went out to parents. Some children could be seen reuniting with their parents outside the firehouse, but at least one group of students remain unaccounted for.

Some students were reportedly being treated for trauma. A dispatcher at the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps said a teacher had been shot in the foot and taken to Danbury Hospital.

The school houses more than 600 students from kindergarten through fourth grade.

  • So sad. Such a waste of lives. Just waiting for the Gun Control Left Wing nuts to come out and attack guns as the problem….

      • TitaniumEagle

Insert third ranting comment of day here.
Looking beyond the differing opinions, how can you politicize something like this on the day it happens anyhow? Show some compassion instead, and if you want to talk gun control (and promptly be educated on why increasing it is a bad idea) do it a month from now after we’ve figured out what actually happened and we can talk about facts instead of speculating.

    • And yet these mass shootings never happen at gun shows. They always happen at gun-free areas.

      • physicsnut

and they always happen when dems get power

      • They always happen mid morning as well. I guess that makes for a full day of media coverage, and gives the politicians plenty of time to make their comments after a fresh event.

    • Is_Sense_Common
      • Good point!

      • TitaniumEagle

Saw this this morning and was wondering the same thing.

    • Not to mention trying to tie the shooter to the tea party only to find out he’s a lefty. The sad thing is, if a teacher had been armed s/he might have stopped the slaughter.

    • Ben

You are really a fucking Ignorant. What Moron won’t get it that No Guns= No Shooting? A$$$hole

      • Szary1

Who’s the moron but you…..take away the right from law abiding citizens to own and carry guns and it will only be the criminals that have them jerk! You really think they will be able to eliminate all guns?? Get a clue idiot!

        • While his comment is ignorant, please don’t call names. Thanks.

        • warpmine

……….not to mention we’re all be slaves of the government with absolutely no check whatsoever against a tyrannical government. How long do you suppose we’d still be a free people? 5 maybe 10 minutes before Obamao would declare himself president for life.

          • Szary1

He and the UN are just chomping at the bit to take away our gun rights….this next year there will be for sure a new wave of attacks from the UN aligned with the left at trying to disarm the American law abiding citizens! Just watch…

      • TitaniumEagle

Your right, people who don’t have guns can’t shoot. Gun control laws take away guns from the good citizens and leave them in the hands of the bad ones. Not to mention that even if we magically eliminated every single gun in the country, we’d still have
        – Hunting knives (okay, ban!)
        – Whoops, we still have kitchen knives. Let’s ban those too.
        – Oh crap, we have cars. Let’s ban those too.
        – Oh wait, we still have lighters and matches. Let’s ban those too.
        – Oh wait, we still have….

Do you not get the point? Yes, guns are used frequently in heinous crimes and those crimes are a serious issue that we need to work on, but taking away my constitutional right to defend myself with a gun is the wrong way to do that.

        • Seamus Dubh

Just because you can’t buy them, regardless of weapon type(gun, knife, etc.), doesn’t mean you can’t make them.

In these situations with much so knee-jerk reaction I always refer to this quote. “When they outlaw Guns only the Outlaws will have them.”

If you want to commit a crime and or kill, you will, regardless of ANY law saying other wise.

      • I have no problem if you have a differing, yet completely uniformed opinion, but read the comment rules before you post again.

      • stage9

Was it the gun that committed the crime or the behavior of the individual that committed the crime?

There are crimes committed every day by knives, swords, machetes, and no one seeks to outlaw those.

I would be more inclined to outlaw Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto before I would guns.

Each of these feeds evil by creating a creature out of a child who thinks he is invincible and can kill anyone without consequence. It feeds the nature of the unstable and creates a sense of invincibility. When they find themselves in a situation they can’t handle, they’re unable to separate fantasy from reality and resort to the violence they’ve been training themselves in.

These are not games; they are military SIMULATIONS. They are the same sort of simulations active duty military use to train with and we’re putting them in the hands of children.

  • I just heard 27 also. Don’t know how many were children yet. God please comfort these people some how.

    • 7 adults, including the shooter’s mom, 18 kids dead. This country is going over the fiscal cliff and the world is going over the sanity cliff at the same time.

  • Sober_Thinking

What a sad, twisted, sick thing…

I hope the gunman (gunmen) is/are captured or killed. What an atrocity!

    Pray for these families.

  • johnos2112

The only way to stop this crap from happening is to deal with the psychos BEFORE anything happens. For example,, Loughner in AZ wanted Gabby Gifford DEAD and rand sacked her headquarters and NOTHING was done. This guy also wrote some very disturbing things in college AND nothing was done! The guy in Colorado killing people in the midnight showing had a checkered past and look what happened! These lunatics ALWAYS cry out for help with a set of circumstances and nothing ever happens to these people. How about we re open mental institutions and lock these people up BEFORE they do harm!

    • Rshill7

Slippery slope. Why? Because in this day and age conservatives and Christians are considered “lunatics”. Think about it.

      • johnos2112

This is what happens when you do not have  christian faith in your life.  I believe this strongly because you realize you are NOT in charge and when things go south you have faith in GOD to direct you.  I guarantee you that this guy does have a track record of crazy behavior.  And nothing was probably done about it!  Nothing will change until these crazy bastards are put away!

        • sDee

Look deeper even than this. The Colorado shooter had nothing troubled in his past until a few months before the shooting. Nothing.

          • johnos2112

That is the point a few months, a few days, etc.  There are people responsible for NOT reporting this and not doing anything about it!

            • sDee

Or, there are people responsible for it. Things are not as they appear on the surface.

Government control grows, freedom lost, one crisis at a time.

            • You can’t blame them. For instance: when someone wants to kill themselves, they almost always give things away to loved ones prior to their suicide. And most times, the family members know it’s odd, but don’t think anything of it. And then after the suicide, they beat themselves up forever because they didn’t heed their warning.

But warnings come in ALL shapes and sizes…it’s IMPOSSIBLE to recognize a “call for help” until you are doing so IN HINDSIGHT. This is the fault of the shooter…no one else’s, and blaming others will only serve to cause more pain and anguish in their community.

            • Government mind control programs still exist. The manchurian candidate issue is not just a bunch of conspiracy babling. If you research it, you will find that it is just a scientific fact that the mind can be broken down to the point of creating a controllable alternate personality.

Beyond that, America is now medicating millions with selective seritonan re-uptake inhibitors. The side effects of these psych drugs include a lack of empathy, and even homicidal behavior. A veteran friend of mine killed himself this year. The VA had him on psych drugs for years.

Many times we find that these shooters had essentially left society for a period of time before committing the crime. Nobody knows where they were. Timothy McVey was off the grid for two years prior to the Ok bombing. He was seen on a military base when he was supposedly out of the military. Others saw him in the building the weeks prior to the bombing being escorted around by men in suits. McVey told inmates that they weren’t really going to kill him. He thought that they were going to drug him and then he would go underground somehow. Patsies are killed, or kill themselves when it is mind control.

Look into the London bombings. The bombings happened at the exact time, and at the exact locations that they were training for them.

Governments kill their own people to get what they want. This has been the case for as long as people have had human rulers.

          • Kelly60

sDee…I read on someone’s blog not long ago that the Colorado shooter’s dad was government involved and this was a result of something engineered to keep the dad quiet. Sounds conspiratorial I know but thought I might mention it….

            • The theater shooter was in an experimental government program, and his phych doctor was a well known government employee. His neighbors said that he was just a normal nice guy until six months prior to the shooting, then he just became dispondent. He was in jail for a couple days before being put in solitary confinement, and people in cells near him said that he mentioned not knowing what happened. Witnesses at the scene said there were two people involved. Investigators ruled that out immediately regardless of the testimony shown on the local news. The national media only reports the official story, but the local media often reports early on the scene and reveals many more details before being shut down. The feds often come in and take over the investigation, which is a good way of covering up a black ops situation.

        • No. I don’t have ‘Christian faith’ in my life, and I don’t go around doing stuff like this. You don’t need a 2000 year old Palestinian god to tell you that this sort of thing is wrong. Furthermore, ‘faith’ is what drives people to do stupid things like this. Because they believe things without evidence. I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out that he was a born again.

          • Is_Sense_Common

There is exactly zero evidence of any of the accusations you make about Christian faith and this horrific situation. Shame on you.

            • The accusation was actually faith in general, not ‘Christian faith’. Try and read it again.

              • Some of us folks kind of see the use of terms faith and born again to mean Christianity as those are Christian terms. So, cut with the “general” statement.

                • Believe it or not, the term ‘faith’ can be found in the OT. It’s not a Christian invention as it pre-dates the Christians. It really is generic.

                • I understand that, but when you use the term “born again” with it, that is distinctly a Christian term.

                • Now that you’d corrected yourself, I’d like to explain my analogy. There is a great deal of evidence connecting Christian faith with horrific situations such as these. There is absolutely no shame on me.
David Koresh, Timothy McVeigh and Adolf Hitler were all born again Christians, who through their faith, led numerous people to their deaths. This sort of behaviour is not surprising, rather quite Biblical.
Not convinced? We’ve all heard of Joseph Kony, head of the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army). Why is what he is doing wrong? He’s just using his Christian faith, right? How can you possibly condemn what he’s doing?
I can. Because I understand faith to be a virus which must be eliminated. It can (and has) been used to justify all sorts of atrocities. Faith is nothing more than believing things in the absence of evidence, what could be more dangerous?

                • For one, I didn’t need to correct anything. I realize that the word “faith” on it’s own spans more time and religious bounds, but like I said, when used with the words born again, that is Christian.
Now, I won’t be responding to this, because it is not true that Koresh or the others were born again. People like to claim they were, but if they claimed it themselves, which I never have heard them do- they through their actions certainly show they clearly were not.
People will claim all sorts of things- just like Kony. Doesn’t mean they even understand what a true Christian is.
The word Christian has come to mean pretty much anything for people. Many people I know call themselves Christian, just because they were raised in a church as kids. Do they know who Christ is? Nope. They’ve not read a Bible since they were kids in Sunday school class.
A true Christian is one who reads His Word, and is willing to follow Him. We don’t always get things right, we’re far from perfect, but we strive to follow His commands and show Him in the way we live. That is a true Bible believing born again Christian. Born again, being in the Holy Spirit.

The people you talk about are not born again in the Spirit of God.

Faith is not believing in things absence of evidence, it’s believing in something not seen physically. Just as I might not see all the bolts that hold my car together as I travel down the highway, I have faith that who ever built my car put the bolts where they belong so my car will be safe.
There has been thousands of years of death and destruction, most of it, from people who believed in themselves or no god. I’d say that’s more dangerous. When one has no sense of where a higher law comes from, that humans are all powerful over their own lives, they can choose to believe they have power over others as well. That’s where despots and dictators believe they themselves are a god. Kim Il Jong is a good example of that.

                • Yes you did need to correct yourself, actually. You backtracked from ” the use of terms faith and born again to mean Christianity” to…”you use the term ‘born again'” Don’t make me explain to you the difference between singular and plural, please.

“The people you talk about are not born again in the Spirit of God.”
I dunno, I mean Hitler was pretty close to the Christian God…
“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.”
                  That sounds pretty Christian.

It’s true that a lot of people who call themselves Christian are fools, that’s just because it’s a religion for fools.

                • First of all- I have no clue what the point is anymore about what terms you used in the first place. I’m not going to nit pick over the terms faith and born again.
As for the quote from Hitler, goes back to what I said, people can claim anything they’d like- blame it on whatever they’d like, doesn’t make them a follower of Christ. The human person of Christ was a Jew, grew up in the Jewish tradition, so Hitler was killing the Lord’s own People. Does that sound like a Christian thing to do?
One can sound christian yet not be one.
True Christianity is not a religion. It’s a relationship. But if that makes me a fool- I count myself blessed to be called a fool.

                • Yes. But Hitler is a great example of how people can claim to be Christian and kill numerous people. I’m just doing as I was asked.

              • Is_Sense_Common

Hmmm. In your comment you reference your lack of “Christian faith” and you discuss the possibility that the shooter was “born again.”

Sounds like an unfounded attack on Christians to me.
(and yes, I did re-read your post. did you?)

                • Are you going to tell me that there isn’t a possibility? That’s the first sign of a closed mind, one devoid of ‘common sense’.

                • Sorry Samuel, I’m replying up here because we’re getting too squished down below. If I was president, I still wouldn’t be able to change the laws, but I would work towards trying to promote other ways of choices other than abortion. I’d try and work on things I could change within the laws, such as getting rid of federal tax money going to abortion clinics. As much as I would love others to follow after Christ, we can’t legislate morality, but we can serve as an example and try to change hearts by living the talk instead of just talking it. Even if the whole American government was filled with devout Bible believing Christians, we’d never have a perfect society because of the fallen nature of all. We would never have a theocracy either because our theocracy is in heaven.
But yes, if I was president, I’d try and bring the nation to a point where we remember God and His commands even if knowing I can’t demand all people to obey them. I’d not outlaw things which are already law, but I’d do whatever I could to have those laws changed or create other ways so things like abortion were done less and less.

                • Very interesting.

                  “we can’t legislate morality”
I thought that’s exactly what the law is for though??

                • They should yes, but not everyone’s versions of laws are the same either. Once a ruling is made- right or wrong in America’s supreme court, that law pretty much stands. Unfortunately, the Justices read something into the Constitution and found abortion to be acceptable. The only thing which would change the law would be to have pro life judges on the court, and bring a new case. Sigh. The founding fathers talked about things like legislating morality-
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions
unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break
the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Thomas Jefferson–October 11, 1798
There are a lot more, showing what the founders intended for America, but we’ve drifted very far away from those.
I don’t know that we could ever change things back.

          • “If I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible that main cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: ‘Men had forgotten God; that is why all this has happened.” Alexander Solzhenitsyn

            • It’s a nice quote…but 20th C. Soviet Russia ≠ 21st C. USA.

              • Yet. Although, if one were to count the unborn who are murdered every day in this country, we’re beyond the 60 million mark.

                • Oh, so you’re pro-life? You’re just like that atheist Christopher Hitchens then 😉

                • If Hitchens is pro life, that’s great!

                • I’m glad that you approve. What does the Bible say about abortion by the way? Is it right or wrong? 😛

                • Thou shalt not murder.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
                  Psalm 139:14-16

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” Jeremiah 1:5

God knows us before we’re born. He has plans for each of us.

“When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, ‘Blessed are you among women! . . . Behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy’” Luke 1:41-44

“Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.” Job 3:16

The Bible doesn’t specifically say the word “abortion” but it is shown all throughout Scriptures that God is the Creator, and we are made in His image. It is not up to us to kill His creation. He gives us free will yes, but that doesn’t give us license to murder, especially the defenseless.

                • Any concessions here? What about in cases of rape?

                • Nope. Rape as violent as it is, is not the fault of a baby that might have been conceived because of it.

                • But can a lady get an abortion if she’s been raped?

                • If she chooses to go that way, she’ll choose of her own free will… at least I hope her own free will, as some people do push women into getting abortions. I realize that right now it is legal, but that doesn’t mean it’s right. I will never judge a woman for making that choice, however, knowing some women who have gone through it and lived with tremendous guilt and who have suffered physical effects as well, I will always try and help a woman to choose life instead.
I’ll not condemn a woman for it, I pray for them.
Rape is horrible- I know that from personal experience. But it is no excuse to destroy an innocent life because of the violence that it came from.

There are other options. Adoption. I thank God for the woman who gave me life even when she knew she couldn’t take care of me, and chose to give me up.

                • But doesn’t that contradict the Bible verses which you showed me? The Bible doesn’t say “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, but…”
                  So what’s the difference?

                • I’m running out of places to reply below. I don’t know how what I said contradicts the Bible. I can’t control what others do. God does know us before we’re born, but I can’t restrain someone else from ignoring that.

                • Okay. But just let me clarify. You’ve shown me a selection of verses from the Holy Bible. Verses from Psalms, Luke, Job, etc.
Read literally, these verses seem to be talking about the preciousness of human life, and surely conform to the pro-life position (which you hold).

But, in the case of rape, why is it okay for a woman to get an abortion? Isn’t it still killing? Isn’t it still violating the verses you showed me from Psalms, Luke, Job, etc?

So, why is it okay for a woman to get an abortion if she’s been raped?

                • What part of my original statement didn’t you understand? “Nope. Rape as violent as it is, is not the fault of a baby that might have been conceived because of it.”
I do not belive it is right in any circumstance- but I can’t change the laws of the land. It goes against God’s laws, but I can’t force a woman not to. It’s not OK for abortion in case of rape- but as long as the government has allowed it, I can’t force a woman not to if she chooses.

                • I was just clarifying that we were on the same page.

“I can’t force a woman not to if she chooses.”

But, if you ran the world…would you allow the choice? Or not?

                • But I don’t run the world. God gave us all free will. We’re not robots. He didn’t create us to be robots. I have an idea where you’re going with this, but that’s my answer here. Free will. We all make choices every day to either do what’s right knowing His commandments or we don’t.

                • I’m not really going anywhere in particular with it. I’m just interested what you’d do if you became the President tomorrow. Because to me it sounds like you’d prefer that people follow the laws stipulated in the Bible, then to break them. And it sounds like you’re not too upset if people break them, although perhaps disheartened?
But if you made the rules…would you still give people absolute choice and make abortion lawful? Or would you have a nation under God, and make it illegal?

                • Nukeman60

Being pro-life or pro-death doesn’t make one person just like another. It only means they agree in one instance. Oh, you like Dodges. Well, so do I. That means you are just like me. Not so.

                • ‘Winks’ denote sarcasm, please learn to recognise this.

                • Nukeman60

Oh, I saw your sarcasm. It wasn’t that I didn’t recognize it. I also recognize when someone is too full of himself. “wink”.

                • No, the point is that you didn’t recognise it. So, there is no ‘also’.

                • Nukeman60

Your problem (well, one of them) is that you assume someone can’t comment on your statement if you are sarcastic. You’re blind to many things and that’s what makes you think your point of view is superior. It’s funny, but also interesting.

I’ve seen many people like you. Your arguments are stunted because you start with a false premise, build on that and then tell other people they are wrong because your premise-based argument says so. It’s just playing with words and quite frankly, boring.

Sooner or later, intelligent people have to look at the truth. Some people, like you, choose to observe the world through your own self-dampening prism. It’s your choice and to me, quite humorous. I’ve studied many like you. It never changes.

                • ” someone can’t comment on your statement if you are sarcastic”
I never said that you can’t comment, and I never requested you (or the admin) to delete your comment. Your free to have your say, but you were misrepresenting my position, because you did not recognise my sarcastic remark. I needed to clarify my sarcasm so that the discussion could progress (I’d assume you’d do the same thing).

“you start with a false premise”
Which premise did I start with?

                  “your own self-dampening prism”
What is this? I couldn’t find a definition online.

                • Nukeman60

You once again claim I did not realize your comment was sarcasm, even after I told you I did. Another one of your problems.

You couldn’t find a defintion online? Perhaps that’s another problem with your reasoning – you aren’t thinking for yourself. You’re merely looking for someone else’s definition to help you. So, once again I will say that your falling short of a true Deist.

                • “even after I told you I did”
                  I simply reject your claim.

“You’re merely looking for someone else’s definition to help you”
Yes, it’s a term I’ve never heard before in my country, and I’m interested to know what it means. So what is it?

          • johnos2112

The christian faith is about not being tempted by satan sir.  It is also about what this country was founded on.  Look up david barton and blame him if you don’t believe me.

            • Satan is probably the most subjective concept. Christians just look for someone to blame when things go wrong. They can’t own up to their own misfortunes, and it can’t be God (as its perfect) so they blame this ‘Satan’ character.

              • I blame myself for my own things all the time. When I do wrong, I know where the fault lies. But, I also have faith that Jesus, our Creator loves me. If that’s a fairy tale or whatever, I’ll gladly take it if it helps me to show compassion to others because I believe He loves them too.

                • So you should blame yourself. What I was referring to was Christians who think in just black and white (satan and God). Whenever something good happens (get a new job) they praise God, but whenever something terrible happens (like this mass killing) they blame Satan. We need to stop blaming imaginary things, and focus on what really motivated the killer/s. Was it depression? Religion? Video games? Neglect? It could have been a combination of these things.
I too act with compassion, but I don’t need the Jew to dictate my beliefs, as I can, and have, figured out superior morals for myself.

                • Nukeman60

Really? And just what is it in your DNA that allowed you to figure that out by yourself. You think you invented Good and Evil. How do you know something’s evil? Do you “just know”? Is it in your bones? What gives us conscience, where the animals have none?

                • I wouldn’t say that good and evil is ‘in my bones’. I don’t believe in metaphors. What I would say though, is that through thousands of years (you can say millions, if you want) our species has come to realise what is right and wrong. No longer do we own slaves like they did in the Bible, no longer do we kill each other for adultery, like they did in the Bible. We have come to embrace multiculturalism and equality (two concepts very foreign to the Bible). Why can’t I define my own morals? There is absolutely nothing I can not fathom, as the imagination is unlimited.

                • Nukeman60

I find it interesting that many people take credit for something they know little about. Since they can’t seem to prove it, they feel safe with the assumption. Don’t confuse the ability to determine right from wrong with social norms. They are two very distinct concepts.

Many people also claim that since they have never ‘seen’ God that He doesn’t exist. There is a Truth out there, with a capital T and then there is the truth that people try to convince themselves of, for their own satisfaction. The Truth is what we should always strive for.

                • “something they know little about”
What is it that you claim I know little about?

“Many people also claim that since they have never ‘seen’ God that He doesn’t exist.”
Obviously. But as a believer in a god, I don’t take that line.

“There is a Truth out there,”
                  How do you know this?

                • “There is a Truth out there,”
                  How do you know this?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me..” John 14:6

                • But that’s a small ‘t’, so Jesus was lying.

                • You are free to believe that. He does however say I Am, which is equating Himself with God who says the same thing. He also says ” I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

and “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Rev.22:13

Since Jesus is God, and God can’t lie, I’d say Jesus is the Truth.

                • He actually did lie in John 7:8-10, so he’s not the truth.

                • Again, there’s no reply botton below so I’ll reply here. While if you look just at those verses by themselves it looks like He’s caught in a lie, you aren’t taking what He is replying to in context. His brothers didn’t believe who He is, they wanted Him to go and declare Himself as Messiah if that was who He was even though they didn’t believe Him.
He knew it wasn’t His time to reveal Himself at that time so He didn’t go. The few verses here doesn’t say how long it was from the time He said “no” to the time He went. The text doesn’t say that Jesus knew He would go while saying He would not go- Verse 9 says He abided still in Galilee, it could have been a day or two before He went, therefore not a lie. Besides, he didn’t go up and declare himself as Messiah, he went secretly to observe the festival and not draw attention to himself as Hes said.

                • I don’t like how you are giving him the benefit of the doubt, why would you do that?

                • Nukeman60

Do you claim you know everything? Just exactly what god do you believe in then, after stating that God was imaginary? And how can you claim something doesn’t exist? There is no way to prove something doesn’t exist, only that you haven’t found it yet.

I know there is a Truth out there because existence isn’t subjective. All that we discover in the Universe has already been there. We just haven’t discovered it yet. I may think the Earth is flat, but in reality it is spherical. I don’t know it, though, until I discover it.

In our DNA, we are programmed to survival or we intrinsically know an action is good or bad. Whether we follow that programming is where free will comes in. My belief is that God put that there. You may choose to believe otherwise, but there is an intrinsic Truth that can’t be changed whether we believe one way or another. It isn’t true for me but not true for you. We just approach it differently.

                • I don’t know everything, I only potentially know everything. That’s what I mean when I refer to unlimited imagination.
                  I’m a Deist.

“I know there is a Truth out there ”
How do you know this? John 14:6?

                • Rshill7

                • Do you have anything useful to contribute? Or are you of such an inferior sort that you must resort to ad hominem attacks?
If you disagree with the claims I make, feel free to respond in an orderly fashion, don’t just interrupt a perfectly respectful, civilised and academic discussion. This is not just for my sake, but for all parties involved.

                  I’m a Deist.‘ – s p

Heh. And apparently not a very good one. Keep trying, though. It’s promising.

                • “not a very good one”
By what means do you gauge the ‘goodness’ of a Deist? Which criteria are you judging my Deism from?

                • Nukeman60

Yawn. Now you’ve just become boring. Can’t you try any harder than that?

                • I’ve run out of space to reply. What do you mean by “yawn”? I’m asking you…what is wrong with my Deistic position? Please answer.

                • Where do your superior morals come from? How do you measure what is moral or not?

                • My superior morals come from my brain. As previously mentioned, my imagination is unlimited, and so is yours.
My morals could have been bestowed upon me by a god, or they could be the outcome of centuries of years of human progress. Whatever their origin, I can assure you that they aren’t Christian, they’re far superior.

Measuring morals is a different story, as no real scale exists. But I can tell you that killing other people is in no way rewarding, it’s only damaging and brings about human anguish and retribution. When donating to a charity however, you can see positive results, as people are liberated from their lives of poverty and famine. So, an action is deemed moral/immoral by the benefits or consequences which result from it.

                • You know what? I’m going to freely admit here and now, that I’m not the best one to go into this right now. It’s passed 1 in the morning and I am tired. It’s been a long and trying day, a horrible day. I’m going to leave you with this link, and I’d highly suggest you check some of these out. How do you define ‘crazy’? Who/what is the standard and who defines that? What speech justifies taking away someone’s rights, or should we simply start locking people up for what they say? What is their crime? Innocent until proven guilty, remember?

Yes, there will be lunatics and there will always be violence and there will always be pain involved no matter what road you/we take. I agree with rshill7, but I know you aren’t advocating removing someone’s rights etc… There are heaps of things that can be done to help people, with love and understanding, which don’t amount to removing them from society or taking away rights, but you can’t force people to be sane.

When I first saw this story my knee jerked too. But the answer isn’t to restrict people, it is to free them. I have long believed that teachers should be screened, tested, trained, and armed, just as police officers are. Guns are not the problem. If the shooter didn’t have guns available, it would have been something else, possibly somewhere else; which doesn’t make it any better. Give people the ability to protect themselves and others; cops respond to incidents, people are already there.

      • johnos2112

This clown had warning signs. I would bet that he had a past of absolute instability and nothing was done. If I was a teacher I would have a concealed weapon. Screw it! I would not tell anybody about it but I would be packing heat!

        • sDee

” If I was a teacher I would have a concealed weapon. Screw it! I would not tell anybody about it but I would be packing heat”

That is what makes practical sense. In a dangerous world we must protect our families and ourselves. I avoid gun free zones, and when I must be there, I am on alert and edge because they are the most likely place for these sickos to come.

          • johnos2112

What else can you do?  I know some people do not like firearms.  I respect that but Imagine if that was your child.  Would you not want to protect them by any means possible?  If staff had a weapon perhaps these children would have been spared!  It is just awful regardless!

            • Nukeman60

              …some people do not like firearms…‘ – j

Those people will have to figure out something for themselves, then. I, for one, own firearms. I use them to protect myself and my family. I’m alert to all kinds of situations around me, no matter where I am.

And, most of all, I trained my children (who are now in their late 20’s and still healthy) in the safe and effective way to use firearms. My granddaughter is 2 and she will be next to learn. She will be as safe as we can allow.

          • People who live there, or were involved in the school called in to the AJ show today. They said that the school had recently practiced drills for a shooter event. They also said that you cannot enter the school without being buzzed in. Apparently, security was pretty good compared to many. A couple of cops called in and refuted AJs claim that the feds come in and stand down the local officers from going in while a shooting is under way. They said that they now train to go in immediately regarless of having back-up, and they don’t know any cops who would take the order to stand down. With that said though, there have been cases where cops did stand down on federal law enforcement orders. Apparenty that has been rejected by local law enforcement and they are now trained against it. Apparently, the lady who calls herself the shooters mother hasn’t seen or talked to him in four years. Haven’t heard where he has been, or what he was doing for the last few months or years. The shooting fits some of the criteria for a staged event, such as the time of day. The recent Oregon mall shooting happened at night, few were killed, and the media did not go wild with it. I will be interested to know more about this shooter’s background.

I know boys will always be boys, than I do see this awful situation taking place and rob many young innocent lives of their future. I am so saddened and mad. My God, help me cause I shall tear up the shooter’s arse in a million specs with my furry, shooter will be lucky to shoot me first.

and so freaking true, WHY shootings mostly take place in places where gun are tightly controlled. Yet libs and taking heads will fest in all form their objection to gun ownership.

I feel for the parents of the children passed on, my prayers that they be comforted somehow. Those little dear souls will be missed. May their MAKER hold them so close to his chest as they enter HOME

            • Dude, figure it out!!! His point is that you keep telling everyone we need to start locking up people that exhibit “warning signs”, but WHO MAKES THAT DETERMINATION?!? Yep…THE PRESIDENT or some committee, etc. And it is EXTREMELY likely that anyone put in charge of determining if you are a threat to the community WILL SEE YOU, as a Conservative/White/Straight/Male as an EXTREME threat to society if for no other reason than to eliminate you from the public square.

              • johnos2112

You are a true asshole.  You really are.  I am suggesting that these people who commit these atrocities leave clues.  Some are worse than others.  Maybe you need to figure it out!  BTW when one Jared Loughner say he wants to kill Gifford and trashes her office in Tucson is more than a warning sign you idiot!

                • Rshill7

Is everyone who can’t get through your lead lined hatrack deserving of some variation of subjectively selected, pejorative?

It’s a rhetorical question. If you don’t understand that either, again, I can’t help ya’. Get a private tutor. This is not the thread to call people names in, as you have done. Now that I consider it, none of the other threads are either.

                • Is_Sense_Common

Neither Brian nor Rshill7 are idiots, morons, progressives, or any other name you want to hurl at them. But, they both have got the spines to take the insults you’ve thrown their way today. However, neither of them are trying to argue with you, just point out a flaw in the thought-process you’re using. Whom shall we deem the arbiters of reading “clues” left by unstable people? You’re not wrong – often people do leave bread crumbs that leads to the disgusting, heartbreaking, unfathomable situation that occurred today. However, those who love freedom (and I suspect you do), cannot wish for a government-appointed judge to predict the actions of someone they deem unstable. The definition of “unstable,” “mentally ill,” and “nuts” continues to shift with the times. As Christians in a land of ever-more intolerance from the unbelievers, it is WE who will be next deemed “unstable,” “mentally ill,” and “nuts.” And the likelihood that WE end up in chains grows each day, for nothing other than our belief in God, whom others do not know or understand.

Your point is a good topic of discussion, but be prepared for the folks here to challenge it and actually debate it, rather than let it sit in an echo-chamber. And please, QUIT disrespecting the guys who dare to challenge you.

                • johnos2112

Disrespect huh?  Because I formulate an opinion and rhill insults me?  Who is disrespecting who sir?  I am suggesting look at behaviors, allow concealed weapons to expand and enforce the laws in the books.  And maybe if this guy was on meds to make sure weapons are not readily available.  This is a tough subject and I think if more people were able to carry concealed weapons that tragedies like this could be avoided.

Yes, by calling Brian an a-hole, you were disrespectful. By telling Rshill7 to “Get Lost,” you were disrespectful. Surely you see that, right? I say stuff that I later go back & admit was disrespectful or silly or stupid all the time – surely you do too?

The interesting thing about this thread is that we all pretty much agree on the premise that supports the 2nd Amendment. You suggested that “they” take preemptive action by following clues and others here warned against such action, even though outcomes like yesterday’s atrocity may have been prevented. What’s at stake is freedom, which we all cherish. We can agree and disagree all at the same time without tearing each other’s throats out.

Have a blessed day & stay safe.

    • In a country of 350 million, what are the odds that this is going to happen occasionally?

Why is it that the Oregon mall shooting got very little attention, and this one is so big. Obviously the number of dead are higher, and kids in a school were involved. Whenever the media jumps all over something like this, which they are going to in any case, I always question whether or not it is a government operation, or homegrown. The theater shooting and the Giffords shooting were government jobs. So was the one on the religious group recently. The Oregon mall shooting was likely naturally occuring, and I am not sure about this one yet.

People should think twice before they write off the possibility of black ops doing this kind of thing for government entities.

Sure but liberals cannot read the symptoms of those that are crying out for help because to them it’s just another person like themselves in the chorus that NEED that help. We’ve been saying this for years, Liberalism is a mental disorder so don’t expect them to react to the danger they themselves pose on society.

  • mikeinidaho

    1) I thought there were laws restricting guns in Connecticut. How could this happen?
answer: when guns are outlawed only outlaws have guns! Thus, no one is able to shoot
back until the police decide to finally show up.
    2) Wait a minute and you will hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the brain dead
Left calling for the restriction of guns all over the country.

    • Orangeone

      It’s already happening!

And the exterior school doors are locked so who let this creature in?

      • sDee

As we do not know who let the shooter in the emergency door in the Colorado theater. No one even asked.

This runs deep. We are dealing with some very sick evil people.

        • Orangeone

I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but Barky wants the 2nd Amendment repealed, his union thugs have promised blood, Valerie Jarrett promised Revenge, Boehner embarrassed Barky on TV yesterday over the “fiscal cliff”, Conservatives hold their children dear (Dems used them as welfare tools), CT overwhelmingly went for Barky so is filled with his supporters….just putting it out there.

          • sDee

Conspiracies need not be theory. Fast and Furious failed but is was intended to result in blood of innocent Americans.

We know how far they have come. They will not stop now. They must disarm us. That is not conspiracy, History bears out, that it is fact.

            • Orangeone

Watch guns and ammo sales and permits increase today and in the coming days!
This is even more reason why children need to be pulled out of public schools.

          • BlueGood

I was thinkin on way home, listening to the radio reports, just now Orange, I would NOT be surprised if some Leftoid Nutbar was put up to commit such an atrocity so they could start Gun Control in U.S.A…..

They are evil enough to do such…..

            • Good luck to them if they think gun owners are just going to cue up and go hand in their guns. That’s all I can say.

              • Nukeman60

They can have mine, but they will have to pry them from ‘my cold dead fingers’ and they will be empty when they do.

            • Orangeone

Latest on Twitter is that gunman was son of one of the teachers he murdered

            • colliemum

Oddly enough, I was thinking that as well, then I thought, no, they can’t be that evil, can they?
But then, seeing who they are – sadly, yes they can.

Horrible, isn’t it, that we think something like that is possible.

        • E. Lee Zimmerman

Uh, actually, I don’t believe that’s true. I thought I’d read that the Colorado suspect bought a ticket, went inside, taped the door jamb so that it would remain closed (not activating the alarm but unlocked), and then went back outside, suited up, and came back in through the exit. At that point, I believe it was all unconfirmed, but I thought I’d read a follow-up where he confessed as much to the police.

they really get on this stuff fast don’t they? Wouldn’t it be nice to see them put the same amount of effort into “other HARD-HITTING IMPORTANT NEWS” like they do with gun-laws?

      • sDee

        “Reform” = “Remove Liberty”

Anyone who uses the word “reform” is our enemy. It presupposes the cause, the effect, and the remedy.

      • aposematic

Anything considered or implied as possibly being bad for conservatism is immediately jumped on by the MSM/Press.

    • DCGere

CT rates 28 out of 100 on prohibition/freedom. Semi-auto/machine gun ownership heavily restricted. Open carry prohibited unless have permit as is transporting dangerous/deadly weapon. Conceal carry granted by permit yet unfriendly environment for gun owners. Unless you are a criminal, of course. Prayers for the victims and their families.

  • BHliberty

My thoughts and prayers! What a heinous act in our country! This I

  • BeyondPolls

This is just awful. We need school control in this violent school culture.
This is even more reason for conservatives to exit the public school system. We can’t have anymore innocent children killed.

  • Constance

  • Conservator1

It’s time for Americans to realize the truth; we are witnessing the breakdown of social norms and the fabric of our society which is key for stability and growth of all Democratic/Republic nations. • mark1955

First thought’s and prayers go out to the Family Friends and loved ones of the victim’s. Secondly i’m just going to say what i believe,I Believe this was a “False Flag” inspired Attack,by some organization that has ties with the Obama Administration, that programmed this individual to do this, just as i believe Aurora,Colorado and earlier this week Oregon was. On the Site “Gateway Pundit” after the Oregon attack this week i said i believed that was a “False Flag” attack meant as a pre-text to build sentiment for an Assault Weapons Ban and to expect more such events to use as a pre-text. This is no coincidence! These statist’s Monsters can’t Enslave us and then Murder us untill they get our Firearms and will stop at nothing to do so! Expect Obama to issue a Decree Banning Assault Weapons soon with Boehner and the repubs eagerly joining on,as they are afraid of us having access to Firearms also. Expect more of these attacks! Do not give up your Firearms!

    • sDee

      We are dealing with monsters.

  • colliemum

Words cannot express the sadness at this dreadful murder of those little ones. And just a week before Christmas, too.

May the merciful God ease the grief of all those families who lost their precious children, may he console those who have lost friends and family members.
As for the murderer: God will judge you, and that judgement will be more terrible than anything we can say.

If it is true that Connecticut is one of those states with anti-gun laws, then slap the left in the face with that.
But as a lady tweeted: this is not the time to talk about gun laws, this is the time to pull your children close to your hearts, hug them, and show them how much you love them.

  • Philo Beddoe

On Twitter they are screaming for more gun control.

What happens if the gun was unregistered?

    • Orangeone

We need more guns, not gun control. We need armed National Guard at every school not in terrorist nations being murdered by those Barky has ordered them to “worship” even though they want us all murdered.

    • Orangeone

Love one of the Twitter responses, maybe we need to ban 20 year old males.

  • CG patriot

This news is heart breaking. May God rest their sweet souls, and Gods speed to the family’s of these innocent victim’s, their friends and co workers. Sorry, but there are no words to comprehend such evil madness.

I’m just sickened over this, and more so too; the “up-swing in chaos” that seem’s to have ensued “well over and into” from the last decade here in America. I’m sensing a false flag on this. Call me suspicious………Yes I I’m, and ANGER, more and more with our renegade Government playing their games. VIA: our Money, with our Health Care, our Safety and Welfare/ regarding the useless TSA etc:, etc: on and on…….

Sorry for the rant, I’m just beyond tired of all this up-evil my friends.

    Simply “Heart Breaking”.

  • All I can say is please give a big hug and and an extra kiss to all of your children and grandchildren today and thank god that some crazy ass lunitic didn’t go to their school today. Killing that shooter was not good enough. He should have been f*cking tortured to death. 🙁

  • E. Lee Zimmerman

I know it’s early, but I’m reading that the gunman had ties to the school? Does that mean he was an employee?

  • Where the Word of God has no place, no good is to be expected; room is left there for all wickedness. A sick person who turns from his physician, and will take neither remedies nor food, is past the hope of recovery. The truth both heals and nourishes the hearts of those who receive it. The truth taught by philosophers has not this power and effect, but only the truth of God.

Our Culture has turned it’s back on God and Morality

    Evil is running rampant

This has nothing to do with guns. Guns are only a tool that evil uses to commit it’s atrocious acts. This has everything to do with what our Culture has become thanks to the trash coming out of Hollywood, the Godless propaganda being taught in our chools, and the rest of the filth that pours out of Pop Culture on a daily basis.

    • redheadgrl

This is exactly what I posted on my facebook. There is something wrong with our culture when we have lost the respect for the sanctity of life.

  • white531

What a tragedy, and right before Christmas.

Fox News has it up too.

  • O Lord who watches over children in the present life and in the world to come because of their simplicity and innocence of mind, abundantly satisfying them with a place in Abraham’s bosom, bringing them to live in radiantly shining places where the spirits of the righteous dwell: receive in peace the souls of Your little servants, for You Yourself have said, “Let the little children come to Me, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven.” Amen.

    Slightly adapted from:

  • The world is very evil, the times are waxing late,
Be sober and keep vigil, the judge is at the gate.
The judge who comes in mercy, the judge who comes in might,
Who comes to end the evil, who comes to crown the right. We must repent and be on our knees, Jesus will be coming soon. Come quickly Lord Jesus.

  • Maxsteele

I was literally in tears watching this. My daughter is the same age as these poor children and it is heart wrenching to think of the depths of this tragedy for their families. My heart and prayers go out to them.

OMGosh the twittidiots want to arm teachers! Yes the union thug teachers that psychologically torture children who believe in God, wanted Romney for POTUS, etc. Better idea, put our military to work in the US. Station armed National Guard at every school not in terrorist countries. I graduated H.S. many, many years ago and we had an armed police officer at each main entrance.

    • redheadgrl

We had an armed security guard in my high school, too. I graduated in 91.

      • Orangeone

I think we have the unemployment of veterans solution! I am going to the next school board meeting to DEMAND they hire retired National Guard for each of our schools.  I’ll be [email protected] if the demorats are going to endanger our students.

    from CNN:

Updated at 1:47 p.m. ET] A few more details from the White House press briefing earlier. White House spokesman Jay Carney said while today is not the day to debate gun policy, an assault weapons ban “does remain a commitment” of President Obama.

    • Nukeman60

So, even though today is not a day to debate gun policy, he just did.

Perhaps, he should debate abortion policy, as that kills far more children than insane shooters and he’s happy with that. But today is not the day to debate it either.

      • Conservative_Hippie

        Spot on!

  • Nukeman60

    From the book of Mark:

(Mar 10:13) And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
(Mar 10:14) But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
(Mar 10:15) Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
(Mar 10:16) And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

These children are our precious future. How we can throw away the very lifeblood of our future is beyond me and criminally insane. God will punish this shooter with a vengence that is far beyond my comprehension. I welcome that.

Everyone should go home, hug their children, both young and old, and thank God that they still have the joy of their children’s lives. The parents of these children will never have a normal life again. Neither will the parents of any child aborted. I cry for all of them.

They are our precious future. What will we do without them?

No shining eyes and smiles and laughter around the Christmas tree while your child opens gifts from Santa. My heart is broken for these families. I don’t even know what to say. This is just so tragic.

    • Conservative_Hippie

We are doing our church’s Christmas program tomorrow night and Sunday night. Two of the songs are special numbers that the children’s choir join us in, “What will you do with Jesus” and “This is Christmas” We also have some children doing a small dram during another song, “Good News Great Joy”. I can’t help but think the “joyous” mood will be somewhat subdued.

Ironically, Jesus’s birth was soon followed by a fulfilled prophecy by the prophet Jeremiah. Prophesying Herod’s killing of male children 2 years and younger, Jeremiah wrote,

Jeremiah 31:15 “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more”

Herod did not kill Jesus, because God called Mary, Joseph and Jesus to Egypt and rescued them fro Herod’s mass murder. My friends, God is calling you also will you answer him?

I Peter 2:9, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

And remember, Christmas is nothing without Christ! Though our hearts are somber, let’s remember there is coming a day when Christ returns triumphantly. Someday believers will be living a paradise where there is no sorrow no death no crying! I long for that day more and more! Will you join me in that eternal paradise?

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

  • stage9
  • Others here have said what needs to be said about prayers for the parents and our need ot love our children. I can’t say better. Sadly, I can report that the politicization of this is massively disgusting, from the top down, and it includes all the usual suspects.

David Frum: “Obviously, we need to lower the age limit for concealed carry so toddlers can defend themselves.”

Weasel Zippers has more on the usual suspects. I can’t type this stuff any more.

I cannot agree more with RSHill: Home School, or form neighborhood schools with only you local neighbors kids. Private schools with armed security, including armed visiting parents (like they do in Israel) ought to be the standard.

Expect the push to disarm law-abiding citizens to become a tsunami. Get ready for it, because it’s going to really bad this time.

    • Orangeone

K-Bob, sorry to duplicate but we have armed law enforcement at each major entrance to high school many, many years ago. I want to see our National Guard posted at 100% of the public schools, armed and not in terrorist countries like Turkey! And I want to see it today.

      • MiketheMarine

        I AGREE 100%

      • Yes. And not some retired, out of shape guy like me. Trained men and women who won’t hesitate to fire on a shooter because he or she is young or female or known to be mentally ill, or whatever.

        • Orangeone

K-Bob, I would LOVE to see you at any school in my district.  I know that children in my city would be safe!!!!

          • Thanks! I even know some Obama voters who would be happy to carry their glock at their kids school, and would put themselves between a shooter and the kids.

This is what makes the Michael Moore types seem so extra-disgusting today. Real Americans understand what the second amendment is for.

            • Orangeone

Amen K-Bob!  I know I’d be willing to carry and conceal and get between any creep and a kid.  It’s so sad that kids can’t be kids at all any more 🙁

    • Language or not, he’s got a very good point there, and I think people ought to consider it seriously. Thanks K-Bob

    • Nukeman60

That was an excellent analysis of these warped, weak minds that commit these atrocities. It is indeed, in a large part, the fault of the media that builds these people up.

They must tear them down, expose them for the weak, pathetic creatures that they truly are and perhaps this will happen in lesser and lesser numbers. Keep glorifying them and, like the Oregon shooting and then this followup crime, this will be happening in ever increasingly sad numbers.

It’s time to step up, Media. For one time in your sad history, try to do the right thing.

          • Rshill7

Right. Did you catch that this school is in one of the richest counties in the nation? I heard that on Fox.

            • Nukeman60

Yeah, I saw that – ‘median’ home value = $400,000 and ‘median’ income = $111,000. Pretty standard for your average American town (not). It made me wonder why the parking lots in this school were all cracked and looking somewhat in disrepair.

May I suggest another cause that the press deliberately overlooks. Something that was not part of our society in the 50’s.

The press stories said the shooter was mentally ill so I’m assuming he was on Psychiatric drugs as have been many of the lone shooters.

The press always mentions if the shooters were on Psychiatric drugs but never ask if the reason he shot people was because he was on Psychiatric drugs.

It’s time to bring Psychiatry and psychotropic drugs back under the law. These are not sugar pills to be dispensed willy nilly for every ache and pain life throws at us.

      • stage9

Yeah, in light of these latest updates, it’s clearer now that this kid was mentally ill.

Well, to tell the truth, the airport massacre in Call of Duty is a black flag operation by terrorists designed to blame the massacre of Russians on the United States. It ends with an invasion of the US by Russian forces. If you’re going to blame a video game, at the very least get your facts straight.

    • jrt1031

This is not a call to duty video problem or a gun problem. Stop blaming to avoid the real cause. This is a moral, behavoral problem when one person cant learn or be taught or was abused to the point of not being able to control ones self. Most people know right from wrong. Our nation now is unrecognizable with its lack of morals.

  • The sick minded fools at Occupy Wall Street think “Capitalism” is responsible.

    • must be bho’s voter……

2 brothers, 1 is dead, the other in custody.

What is wrong with some people on this planet.

    • DebbyX

I just saw a post on another site that in part read: …….if the children were to grow up and vote Republican, then, well………

I just can’t believe the level of hatred in this Country…….just a week before Christmas. Silly me, they don’t care about any thing but themselves.

      • stage9

Some people cannot disconnect from their hate, they’re just controlled by it.

“And because iniquity shall abound, (in the last days) the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:12

Anyone now have any doubts left about Boenher? Could he really really have not known he would make himself and the republicans the lighting rod by doing this?

Have ordered flags over the @uscapitol to be lowered in tribute to families & victims at #SandyHook.

    • WordsFailMe

He did keep the cost down, though, by waiting for newtown he got a twofer on the flag job

      Hello D

  • Let me guess – the principal and all teachers were prevented from having a gun on school premises….
Now, take you anti-gun laws, print them on toilet paper and USE IT!

Update from Judge Pirro: Looks like 2nd shooter is brother:

Correction: Adam Lanza, 20, was the shooter. His brother Ryan Lanza is in custody.— Jeanine Pirro (@JudgeJeanine) <a href="https://twitter.com

  • Constitution Lover(underconsta

Just awful beyond words…My heart goes out to anyone and everyone effected and pray for this world. The world needs more prayer for others, not just for ourselves or those we know. <3

  • stage9

I am a nervous wreck over this man, I have two little ones these children’s age. This just breaks my heart.

  • This is the epitome of evil. Such anger. Such rage. This is nuts.

  • Landscaper

Another blog had so many disgusting comments that I left. The next time I read about a news story there I’ll stay clear of this issue.
20 little children plus adults murdered in cold blood.

  • After watching CNN and then reading this these updates from TRS, I’m confused..

CNN said the Shooter was 24 year old Ryan, and the father is still alive.

But now I’m hearing the shooter was the younger brother Adam and killed his father then drove to CT and killed his mother, teachers and all those innocent children. Also hearing that Ryan is in Custody

    • stage9

AS I understand it the brother was the one killed in the school (Ryan). The other brother was taken into custody after being apprehended in the treeline (Adam)

      • Apparently Adam had Ryan’s ID on him, so the police Identified Adam as Ryan, now Scoop just had update that Ryan has told authorities his brother has a mental illness..

        • stage9

          Oh ok….man, that’s an understatment

    • jrt1031

the media is all over the place and why do we even listen to them. They lie

  • WordsFailMe

Update #8: I think we need to outlaw Ass-Burger.

  • Our granddaughter has Aspergers and there isn’t a violent bone in her whole body!He was mentally ill, that was the cause, not having ASPERGERS

    • jrt1031

aspergers or autism wasnt the problem……..morals and parenting guidelines were lacking here.

  • After Aurora CO shooting Krauthammer remarked on the worsening laxity of mental health treatment.

“Over time, over the decades, our gun control laws have gotten more tight and more strict. At the same time how we treat the mentally ill has gotten far more lenient and loose,” Krauthammer said. “Now, for good reason — we don’t want to commit people willy-nilly. We believe in civil liberties. But, on the other hand, there’s always a risk. The threshold for committing people to a psychiatric facility on the basis of dangerousness has risen over the decades.”

    • Pyrran

I sort of agree with Krauthammer, however with this regime I’m not so sure. The Soviet Union basically said that if you disagreed with their policies, you were obviously insane. That gave them the excuse to “help” you by sticking you in an asylum and pumping you full of drugs. Problem solved! To misquote Krauthammer on this, “There’s always a risk”.

  • nibblesyble

My prayers are with the families and country. I want to lock up my kids when I see this kind of thing and never let them away from me…God save us all.

  • Pyrran

Obama cries crocodile tears and does this at the same time.

Never let a crisis go to waste.

    • …and uses a hankie with onion rubbed-on….

    • jrt1031

This tragedy that we see every day all works well for obama to takedown America and make it the worst nation on earth. It all works for his plan. He doesnt hold the bar too high for America so why should its citizens hold the bar high with great expectations. This administration is directly resposible for all the turmoil that we see across the world. Evil is spreading like wildfires.

  • Here’s a most recent photo of Adam Lanza I’ve seen on the internet http://blog.livenewschat.tv/2012/12/15/adam-lanza-identified-as-suspected-shooter-at-sandy-hook-elementary-school-in-newtown-connecticut/

Not sure if it this photo is confirmed tho…

  • Steve

I could not imagine anything worse! The knowledge of this horrible mass murder of children will haunt me until the day I die.

  • proudhispanicconservative

Can everyone here please listen to this, “a Call to anguish”.

  • Marky_D

Was shocked to hear this news yesterday – my thoughts go out to the families and all you friends from the other side of the pond.

  • A terrible,terrible day

  • ConnieConservative

This is an unspeakable, horrible tragedy. I send love and prayers to all.

  • chatterbox365

Satan was in CT yesterday. =(

    • jrt1031

yes… satan won yesterday and has been winning more and more these last few years and running…….. but in the end God always wins… those that died didnt feel a thing and are now in a much much better place than the rest of us….left to battle these demons on earth.

  • jrt1031

I find it hard to believe that he was autisic and or mentally slow as its been reported and blamed which is what our nation has come to. Blame, blame, blame. It takes a highly functioning person to carry off such a feet. Lets call things for what they are disfunctional due to lack of morals. Prayers are the only thing to help……But prayers have been taken out of public schools. Sad

  • stage9

When as a culture you teach children to SIMULATE murder and de-emphasize morality, don’t be surprised when they become monsters.

An Aurora Massacre Takes Place Every 10 Days in Chicago, Gun-Control Capital of the United States

“Oddly, there are no calls for more gun control in the wake of the weekly Chicago massacre. Once you have the stiffest gun control laws on the books, you should probably look at the root of the problem… “Three men are dead and at least 23 other people wounded from gun violence across the city since Friday night.””

  • sDee
  • jrt1031

Foxnews which is showing its support for the left more and more every day is now posting a photo in which they state it as an updated photo of the shooter. The photo is of a thin 14 year old boy that fits their description better then the more healthy normal photo that some have posted of this 20+year old.

my other question is that why is the white house so heavily involved with this case. This is not a national issue, its a local state issue. Benghazi is a national issue but the whitehouse chooses to wash its hands of.

The Only Way to Stop a Gun is With a Gun

Our shooters are creatures of the media, not the NRA. A media that turns killers into celebrities and then warns that the only way to stop more shootings is by cracking down on firearms.

But no amount of media coverage ever stopped a man with a gun. It only encouraged him. It takes a gun to stop a man with a gun. That is the hard truth of human affairs. It is why we have a Second Amendment, it is why we have armies and police, and it is why people own guns.

There is no going back to a time before people owned guns. There is no going back to a time when violence did not exist. There is only the reality that killers stalk the streets and that we can either defend against them or take comfort in empty outrage.

Gun Crime Soars in England Where Guns Are Banned

New data out from the UK, where guns are banned, shows gun crime has soared by 35 percent.

Meanwhile in the United States, as more and more people own guns, the rate of violent crime has gone down.
