Morning Joe Panel: Wendy Davis Story Fake But True

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe early today, the panel discussed the growing controversy over the accuracy and truthfulness of claims made by Texas Gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis. The segment has a scare chyron across the bottom of the screen that laments “GUBERNATORIAL RACE GETS UGLY EARLY”. Oh fret and bother.

Mika Brzezinski tells us that Republicans have “pounced” on the “discrepancies”, and then first tosses to NBC News political reporter Kasie Hunt, who immediately brings up what is sure to be the talking point of the week, the “basic narrative”. The basic narrative is correct, you see, even if the details were wrong.

This NBC political reporter spends the remainder of the segment blatantly campaigning for Davis, bringing up the “basic narrative” narrative a second time less than two minutes later. “Some of the details are not quite right,” she says. But “the basic narrative” is “true.”

Donny Deutsch and Willie Geist are also quick to “pounce” on this defense, and Mika takes the cake when she says “so she just exaggerated” with a tone of voice that makes it clear that exaggerating is no big deal and everyone should just shut up and vote for Wendy immediately. Which is pretty well in keeping with MSNBC’s position on the matter to date.

When I was younger, I invented the atom bomb. If it weren’t for me we would never have Nuclear power.

    No, wait.

I merely ran a Nuclear Power plant. It’s just a slight difference in the details, that’s all. I still split an atom. After all, at this point, what difference does it make?

Between my comments and Wendy’s comments? – no difference at all (the basic narrative is still there).

    • NYGino

So, Nukeman, your real name is Enrico Fermi. I thought so.

      • Nukeman60

Busted. But more precisely, it’s Terry Firmy.

        • sjmom

          Wrong…………….it was Algore LOL

        • NYGino

I don’t ever remember LOLing but, LOL Nukeman.

          • Nukeman60

            Just to expand, btw:

            Terry Firmy >>Terra Firma >>Earth >>Mud

(for telling that narrative, my name is mud).

            • NYGino

If it was spelled with two d’s you would have a real story to tell.

    • aquaviva

      more like

      “No wait.

I once turned on a light bulb in a town serviced by a nearby nuclear power plant.”

    • warpmine

Yeah, Dr. Weinberg was there taking pointers from you! LOL.

  • Texndoc

She met husband #1, had a child, met husband #2, had a child, and relinquished custody of both children to husband #2 and apparently was told to have negative alcohol or drug tests before visiting either children. I think most can understand that.

I really would not be the least surprised to hear these leaks were coming from some in the Texas Democratic Party, who want to get rid of her.

    • warpmine

What sexual favor did she perform and on whom to get into Harvard Law?

  • sjmom

If it wasn’t for her 2nd husband’s wealth she wouldn’t be where she is today so its a false narrative.

    • Nukeman60

I liked the part where Hunt was asked, “so did her husband pay for her schooling”, and the answer, as we all expected it would be, was “Well, he helped pay for it”.

Yeah. Cashing in your 401K and taking out loans to pay for her schooling is just “helping”. And then she left him the day after they were paid off. Hmmm…

It’s just the basic narrative. The basic narrative of any progressive. No wonder she’s a hero to them all.

      • sjmom

What she did to her husband and kids is enough to disqualify her in my book.

        • badbadlibs

Your book is decent. The left don’t understand decency anymore, if they ever did.
To the left what that sub human wendy did was acceptable, just as long as she wants women to be able to legally murder their own children thru all nine months.

  • NYGino

When questioned by scribes in his time, Aesop replied…”Some of the details are not quite right but the basic narratives are true.”

  • Bill589

I remember the time when Mika was laughing at and ridiculing Sarah Palin because she didn’t quickly come up with the answer to the question: “Who is your favorite founder.” (SP wanted to credit them all, but then settled on Washington as her favorite.)

Then Mika said her favorite founder was Lincoln. . . .

    • Caleb Howe

oh man. I want to find that video and burn it to DVD and sew the DVD into my clothing so it’s always close to me. That is CLASSIC.

    • BearNJ

That was a classic Bill. Its amazing that Mika mocks Palin for chosing Washington (a great choice by the way and my personal favorite) as her favorite founder. It was great when the dumb communist Mika said her favorite founder was Lincoln.

Its funny you mention Palin. It seems Wendy is actually the dumb, disingenuous phony they attack Sarah as being but Palin isn’t..

Truth means ‘truthish’ or ‘truthiness’ to the leftists…it is a corruption of truth, the denial of evidence, the distortion of facts, the twisting of logic and the abandonment of sincerity.

Here is a must-read article on what our culture has done to the concept of TRUTH:

  • Judges718

“so she just exaggerated” – Mika Brzezinski

No Mika. She lied. She lied to cover her cold selfish ambition, so cold in fact, she was able to abandon her children and husband.

No Mika. She lied. She lied to create a sympathetic narrative to beguile female voters, who if they knew the truth, would not even consider voting for her.

No Mika. She lied. She lied to project herself as a victim, when in fact she is the victimizer.

To answer one of your mentors rhetorical questions, “What difference, at this point, does it make?. Well Mika, the truth matters at any point.

    • Judges 7:18

18 When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon.

By which a massive host was cast into disarray, and in the ensuing panic, destroyed themselves. The remnants who escaped in the rout were pursued and vanquished. A great victory and testimony to the arm of the Lord.

      Let the faithful fear not.

Mika Brzezhinsky–Still dumb after all these years.

    • warpmine

Please tell us you didn’t expect that to change ever!

  • Conservator1

Brzezinski doesn’t know that this lying witch divorced her husband immediately after he paid her Harvard law tuition, abandon both of her daughters and is now paying alimony, yet that doesn’t stop Mika from stating Republicans have “pounced” on the “discrepancies”. Unbelievable, like seeing Mr. Conservative keeping his mouth shut while the lefties defend her. Here’s the real loathsome Wendy Davis:

    • Dr. Strangelove

      Wow. What a ho.

  • mark

did she have a abortion?? if she did, she could be gov or heck with that….
    prez of the USA…

    …Who is John Galt ?”

  • badbadlibs

So what if she is a lying liar baby killer? The more despicable you are, the better democrats like you.
Mass. elected a sub human who said she was native American! She lied thru her teeth and democrats embraced that filth anyway.
The sub human, wendy is facing an uphill battle in Texas, because it’s well….Texas!

  • gigi0f3

And yet another Democrat who’s lips were moving…

  • Blond bombshell with political aspirations marries a rich guy to pay for her school. Divorces man, and tells everyone to have an abortion because she can’t handle her kids. Sounds like my kind of boot strap story. (Or the local prostitute’s wet dream… not sure which)

  • GWShrub

Will you believe this before you don’t believe this? It’s probably due to the “polar vortex” or global warming or a nasty video about Muslims.

    • Dr. Strangelove

      You forgot bushdidit.

  • keninil

I have found it amazing that her mother, a young single mom, choose life for Wendy Davis. Then Wendy Davis chooses life for her daughter when she finds herself in the same situation. She seems to be a poster person for being pro-life — yet she isn’t !!

    • NYGino

Incredible notation keninil !!! She is using the argument that her ‘single mom ‘ status is a plus to argue that children should be disposable if they are not timely and advantageous. Am I reading her wrong?

      • keninil

No. I don’t get it!. Does she wish her daughters were not born. Have they been a pain in the butt, stifled her career all these years. Is that what she tells them?

        • NYGino

Who knows. You don’t get it, I don’t get it, nobody gets her argument. She has no logical argument and even if she did she has based it all on lies. Oh, wait, I forgot we’re dealing with Democrats. Nevermind.

  • Poptoy1949

“She is still learning to be more broad with her language.” She went to Harvard Law School and I am more than sure she was taught that more than once and therefore she is fibbing. The whole reason for this discussion was that she fibbed. Fib or no Fib she will never be the Governor of Texas……she is being given way toooo much attention. Now, if my some miracle she goes become Governor trust me it will only be for 4 years and out she goes.

    • Dr. Strangelove

You just call her a broad? Can’t say I blame ya. 😉

      • Poptoy1949

NOooooo, I didn’t. I said she said that she needs to be more broad……Well, yeah she is a broad of the kind that…Oh I better shut up……Anyway !

  • Laurel

What you witnessed was political prostitution. They sold their souls for attention and a paycheck.

  • imatellau

another media hoax… a “candidate” that is protected and propped up by a willing accomplice in the media! Just like or media protects and defends the prez and attacks ANYONE that SPEAKS TRUTH TO POWER!!

  • Dr. Strangelove

Yeah, a D bootstrap story. She remarries a sugar daddy that puts her through Harvard. Oh, the suffering and degradation. All you teabaggers need to just STFU, you have no idea what she went through. Blah, blah, blah.

  • tinlizzieowner

i love these characters. they could ‘spin’ a tank. 😉

  • DHardy

I don’t believe she can win without independents and I don’t believe they are for electing another liar. all but the far left and the ignorant will be voting against her. what gets me is if she had told the truth it would have worked just as well. But she chose to lie and that should be all you need to know about the person..

  • FreeManWalking

Why would the dems support a “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” candidate?

I would think a “welfare food stamp” mom would be their mom of choice.

  • lawngren

We’re going to have to replace “democrat party” with “liars party” and “traditional media” with “Liars Club America”, or maybe “PathoLiars Club America”.
