My thoughts in the aftermath of Ferguson

After reflecting on the horrors of last night in Ferguson and all the excuses that mostly black news analysts are making to argue the grand jury process was corrupt and therefore unjust, well it’s just stunning to me. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. It’s like Superman’s bizarro world where everything is backwards or upside down. It just doesn’t make sense.

You know, I look at people in the Middle East who hate Israel and I can explain it. Not only is it in the Koran, but this hatred is taught to people from the time they come out of the womb. They are indoctrinated with an irrational hatred of Jews to the point that the average citizen can become a killer at any moment.

And the biggest thing that propels it is there is no critical thinking among the masses.

When I look back at last night, at all the lies about Darren Wilson’s case so easily accepted as truth such that violence would flare to such an unacceptable level, and how in the face of evidence the lies are continuing to be propagated so that this open wound isn’t allowed to heal — well it seems to me that part of our society has regressed in such a way that it has become far more like the indoctrinated Palestinians than I ever thought could happen.

In a nation that was built on critical thinking, I’m not sure I can explain this and honestly I don’t see a way out.
