NBC’s Chuck Todd points out how “odd” it is that Obama won’t meet with world leaders despite crisis

When one considers what is going on today in the Middle East with all the protests, violence, and anti-American sentiment, as well as the crisis of Iran being on the verge of getting nuclear weapons, I’d say the word “odd” is just a bit of an understatement to describe Obama not meeting with world leaders while they are in the country:

Rush was exactly right when he dubbed Obama a petulant man-child. Dead on.

Odd not. Not for this prez.

  • stage9

Odd? Where has MSpiNBC been for the last four years?

    • Rightstuff1

They have been carrying the manchild’s water and covering his back at every opportunity….

  • RosiesSeeingRed

It’s just dawning on you NOW, Chuck, that Obama’s campaigns are the only thing he historically has cared about? It’s the race Chuck –it’s not actually BEING what he campaigns to win.

It’s not “odd” — it’s his M.O. — and it’s pathetic, disgusting, irresponsible, reckless…pick any other word. But it’s not odd.

    • Dukehoopsfan

The wheels must be about ready to come off the cart if lapdog chuck is calling obie out on this.

      • starvingchildren

Yet he gushes like a school girl on Meet the Press (when more than 172 people are watching) with his electoral map practically calling the election now. When Romney wins will NBC fire him for his bogus analysis?

        • Dukehoopsfan

          It would seem appropriate.

  • poljunkie

Sorry Scoop dont mean to hijack the tread but The Virginia Gentleman is being released today at noon. His wife said he was given the all clear! Her actual words were
    “My Atlas is coming home!”

I asked him to stop in when he was feeling up to it.

    • Nukeman60

That is indeed good news to start the week off with. I can hardly wait for his first post here in some time.

Prayer does work, folks. And it will never stop. Thank you, pol. You have been our eyes and ears for this very important issue.

    • GetWhatYouPayFor

Wow! Great news. Thanks for the update. God Bless!

    • Most excellent news! Thank you for sharing! Thank God!

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Wonderful news indeed! Praise God!

    • freenca

Great news pol! If you get the opportunity give him our best wishes for a rapid recovery!

      • poljunkie

I asked him to stop by the RScoop once he settled in, with a fluffy pillow and his laptop!

  • detectivedick

The LIAR is a twit and he can Tweet. Keyword from Todd “do no harm”, I expect nothing but more failure from the failed Obama.

  • poljunkie

Whats odd to me is that people are still contemplating voting for him.

    • badbadlibs

      “Odd” and “insane”.

    • RonPaulSupporter2

Yes you’re right. What’s really scary is he actually has a shot at winning!

      Un-friggin’ believable!

If that doesn’t scare the crap out of anybody then I don’t would.

After four years of high unemployment, high gas prices, reduced wages, massive national debt, etc., how anybody can walk into a voting booth and pull the lever for him is beyond any possible sense of cranial logic.

What does that say for the people of this country?

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

      • poljunkie

I know- what does that say for the people that are around us everywhere we go? The market, the gym? our errands? When I walk up and down the aisles I find myself thinking- Obama voter. Obama voter.

        • “When I walk up and down the aisles I find myself thinking- Obama voter. Obama voter.”

I thought I was the only one who did that.

          • poljunkie

            Too funny.

      • Nukeman60

I’m thinking of voting absentee ballot, simply because I wouldn’t put it past the Obama campaign to have the Romney column electrified so that if you tried to punch that chad, you would get zapped. They’re becoming that desperate.

        • WI4Walker

          But do you trust absentee?

          • Nukeman60

No, I don’t trust the entire system anymore. We have to vote what’s most comfortable to us. Absentee ballot, physical appearance, doesn’t matter. There are ways to cheat the system no matter where you look. We just need to be diligent where we are able to.

            • RosiesSeeingRed

Nukeman, I am driving to my daughter’s college election day eve to bring her home to vote on Election Day in person (for Romney, of course) because she has voted absentee ballot every year she’s been in college — follows the rules, mails it in by the required date, etc. — and every year she has received a letter months after voting that her ballot did not arrive in time. She does NOT trust the absentee ballot and wants her vote to actually count this year. Just wanted to share that with you.

              • Nukeman60

That’s a good point. I’ll actually be voting in person because I want to look all the people there in the eyes to see their true thoughts about the election. I wouldn’t miss that day for the world. 🙂

                • Emma_Goldman

You can look people in the eyes and see their “true thoughts”? I mean, you really believe you can do that?

                • Nukeman60

Yes, Emma, the eyes are the window to the soul. You just have to be observant.

              • MaxineCA

Rosie, be sure she brings her absentee ballot with her. Once I was busy traveling for work, and didn’t get my ballot mailed in time. On election day I went to my polling place and they wouldn’t let me vote. (That prevents people from mailing in as well as voting in person.) They did let me bring back my absentee ballot and place it in a box.

                Just an FYI!

                • RosiesSeeingRed

Thank you… she didn’t even bother requesting an absentee ballot this year, so hopefully they don’t automatically mail her one. But if they do — we’ve got it covered thanks to you. 🙂

              • Emma_Goldman

Just think how hard it would be for her to get her ballot counted if she were African American, living in a swing state.

                • RosiesSeeingRed

And you know she’s not black and doesn’t live in a swing state because…….

                • poljunkie

What? Do you type things just to type them?

                • RosiesSeeingRed

poljunkie, the bigotry in her remarks is amazing, isn’t it? I THINK she’s referring to voter ID laws, and I guess she doesn’t think blacks are capable of figuring out how to get themselves an ID to vote?

Just as she just assumed I’m not black — I guess because I have a daughter in college? I don’t know, but nothing in my comment about my daughter gives away my race, so I have to assume she’s assuming I’m white because I have a daughter a college, and in her mind, that means I cannot be black.

                • poljunkie

                  Crazy. Rosieseeing.
I think she types stuff to try and get a reaction. She attempted to do that over the weekend.

Kudos to you for doing whatever you have to do to make sure your daughter votes, and that her vote gets counted properly. We used to do that with our son who was “away” at college- about 50 miles away. We still vote as a family….I hope this election cycle we WIN!!!

                • Emma_Goldman

I assume you’re white because you said you were in a thread last week. And, Pew Poll says literally 0 % of af-ams are voting for Romney, so even with the margin for error, it’s statistically improbable that you and your black daughter would both be voting for Romney. I’m working in my swing state for voter suppression. Brutal. Criminal. It makes me ashamed to be white, but the job is getting done. But it’s not a cakewalk.

                • RosiesSeeingRed

“I assume you’re white because you said you were in a thread last week. ” I did no such thing. (Disqus stores all comments, but you know that already). You just assumed with what little facts you had. Statistically improbable? Yeah, I’m sure you thought about statistics before you fired off your comment.

You can’t imagine a black person going to college or voting for Romney. Your assumption speaks for itself, and it says a lot about how the left thinks.

                • Emma_Goldman

Yeah, the left is known for its persecution of blacks. You’re just being silly. Whether you and your daughter are black or not is no matter. Voter suppression is happening, and it is race adjacent. It’s happening with dead voter rolls in my state (mostly black, we have few latinos). I went to college with plenty of black people, so I don’t have to imagine that. I admit I do have trouble imagining a black people voting for Romney. The Pell Poll and the Gallup Poll agrees with me. That percentage is 0% (and, in a previous thread, I slammed white people and you took personal offense. Not offense, personal offense).

                • RosiesSeeingRed

The left IS known for its persecution of blacks…at least by people who know their history.

I wasn’t personally offended. I merely said your intolerance was showing.

Just curious, but are the people who you feel are being suppressed at the polls due to ID issues on any kind of public assistance? If so, how does one apply for government assistance without some kind of official ID? If not, they must be working, and if they are working legally, would they not have ID?

                • Emma_Goldman

It’s a dead roll, and has nothing to do with ID. They are removed from the record as being dead, and are not. A disproportionate number are black democrats, and only about 30 percent are turning out to be dead. Whether you want to draw your conclusion of a large number of blacks meaning they are on public assistance, feel free. Anyway, nothing to do with public assistance. I could see why you’d assume that, it’s a very common right position, for those who know their history.

                • RosiesSeeingRed

So what are you complaining about if you’re getting it all straightened out? With both sides cleaning up the records, things should end up pretty accurate in the end.

And sorry to disappoint, but I said PEOPLE, not black people. My assumption was you’d be working to straighten out records of ALL people.

                • Guest

It’s not close to being straight; it will not be straight by election time. Each entry has to be verified in person. It’s really a shame. The dead roll was submitted by a tea party group, who have since apologized, but the legally-submitted “correction” roll is already in the system, and has to be legally completed. That’s what I am complaining about.

                • RosiesSeeingRed

There is no doubt there are voter record problems. It has already been proven that tens of thousands of dead people voted for Obama in 2008 and this is the kind of fallout that occurs from that kind of corruption. But kudos to you for trying to help get the records accurate and lawful.

      • 1water

What’s really scary is he actually has a shot at winning!

BHO’s reelection chances are still there but I wouldn’t consider them huge. Take as example a more closer look to the MSM poll samples:

Even BHO’s staff knows this, and this is why they are putting up a plan for the case that BHO has to leave in January: http://www.wnd.com/2012/09/secret-retirement-plans-does-obama-expect-to-lose/

So keep your head up. We have to make sure that Romney wins in as many states as possible with a so big lead that BHO doesn’t even have a chance with methods like voter fraud and legal battles in the courts after the election.

    • sjmom

The Bible calls them “blinded” (2Cor 4:4).

  • Rshill7

Oh c’mon, The President can’t have other world leaders asking him what his problem is or knocking on his forehead while asking “is anyone home”? Those kinds of things would bruise his prideful ego.

Besides those fundraisers are already scheduled. First things first. Here’s the big problem for O’…the elections are already scheduled too. His pride will really be bruised there.

He’ll not only be the first black President, but the first blue one as well. I think he’ll become one tall contusion in wingtips.

    • freenca

He may just not to repeat his “bruised” results of the Uninvision interview in the foreign press all over again, that would leave a mark, huh?

  • Oh wow, Clinton will be talking to people. That makes me feel “much” safer. I’m sure she had discussions with the Libyan government regarding security to our consulate there. And how did that work out for us?

  • badbadlibs

bo can do no wrong. Todd must have choked just having to use the word “odd” to describe anything that might point to a failure of the one he champions day in and day out.

  • celestiallady

He just doesn’t want to answer tough questions – plain and simple. Not odd at all to us.

    • iaintlyin

It’s not that he doesn’t want to answer tough question, it’s that he doesn’t want the American people to know his answers. You can’t discuss, debate or critique what ain’t there. If you haven’t got a grip on this administrations way of handling things yet you never will.

      • celestiallady

Same thing – he doesn’t want to answer!!!!

  • steprock

You know what I think is odd? An attack on US soil has gone unanswered for two weeks.

    • AmyInWI(formerly just Amy..)

They answered it… They apologized – like good little democrats.

    • WI4Walker

Didn’t you hear? It was a “bump in the road”.

  • anneinarkansas

Surprised to see Chuck Todd mention it.
    Whoopi but no leaders?

  • Nukeman60

The president is going to be actively involved at the UN general Assembly‘ – Gibbs

Really? Just how is he going to do that without meeting with foreign delegates? Is he going to ‘wink’ at them when giving his speech?

Until Obama’s handlers can figure out a way to use a teleprompter in face to face meetings, much like he used with the grade school kids, they will keep him away from the adult table.

    • poljunkie

Of course not NM, he wil show up for the opening photo. Come-on.

      • Nukeman60

What’s funny about all this (as if shirking one’s national obligations is funny at all) is that they are doing it to lessen the harm to his campaign, while in fact it will actually hurt his campaign more. Romney had better jump on this one.

The more he avoids, the more he has to face. 🙂

    • detectivedick

      Classic…that grade school telepromter moment.

    • p m

He’ll probably show up to make sure the UN gets its 7% of the Brazilian oil profits – the ones zero gave US Taxpayer’s dollars to develop, while shutting down American drilling in the Gulf.

      • Nukeman60

Looks like the UN tries to get their fingers in everyone’s pie. They want to be the World Overseers and Obama is fine with that. Perhaps there is a future Secretary-General of the UN in his future (most of them have been crooked, after all). Wouldn’t put it past him.

  • Don

I find it interesting that Morsi, the Islamic leader of Egypt, has just dictated the terms for Arab-US relations to move forward in the future to the mainstream media. How “bumpy” is the road is going to get before Obama’s incompetence is so obvious the that it cannot be denied?

  • Well the View with Behar and Goldberg is much more important when you are trying to reach liberal woman that have nothing else to do. Who cares if the the world is afire and Obama needs a sofa moment with the girls from the View. To him the World can just die as long as he has power, the jet, the helicopter, the WH and the image!

When MSNBLOONEYC runs this….that tells you even some of the left wing nuts know this does not look Presidential. But hey the View will make the world all calm down…just threaten them to spend an hour looking at Joy and Whoopi!!

  • GetWhatYouPayFor

George Soros forbids it. Coming down the home stretch of the biggest charade of all time. NWO is so close he can taste it.

  • Army_Pilot1967

I don’t think it odd for a do-nothing president to go to UN Headquarters and not have ANY meetings with world leaders even though the Middle East is burning furiously. He’s content with the way things are and he isn’t going to rock the boat or solve any problems either. He is a do-nothing president.

  • The man does not know what to say or do, so he cannot meet with these leaders.

  • Joe

    He is called

    because he has

  • WI4Walker

Wow, Chuck Todd is really going out on a limb here calling O’s behavior odd. Probably pains him to even say this much.

  • Rshill7

Since O’s only strong suit is his ability to read a teleprompter, he should become an anchor on NBC, MSNBC or PBS, you know, maximize his utility while tanking the public’s trust in the media further.

Another option would be a powerless Secretary Of Reading Stuff. The first thing I want to hear him read is his concession, the evening of the 6th. I will certainly pay edge-of-my-seat attention to that one.

  • HARP2

The ONLY thing that matters to Barry, is keeping his spiffy ride.

  • sjmom

Odd; no……………Arrogant; YES! This is where self aggrandizement intersects with pride to become arrogance. There is only one God and His Name is NOT Barack!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is it true the Obama has arranged a secret meeting with Iran’s Ahmadinejad?

    • seriouslysickntired

Not sure because “It’s a secret”

    • Rshill7

I read someone call him Yabbadabbadinejad this morning. Funny.

Obama should consider sending Representative “Barney” Frank and former Senator “Fred” Thompson to meet him instead.

Yep. Barney, Fred and Yabbadabbadinejad…with a couple of stone-age stenographers named Wilma and Betty to take notes.

      • Nukeman60

I’m afraid Barney would ask him out for a date and Fred would try to interest him in a reverse mortgage. Either way, it would be more productive than what Obama could say.

Yabbadabbadinejad: “So, are we good with that Israel thing?”

Obamalamadingdong: “Yeah, just send me a message on my blackberry when you’re ready to drop the big one. You still have my e-mail from Valerie, right? Good, I can be more ‘flexible’ in a couple of months.”

  • Yazz55

The speech at the UN will only be a campaign speech anyway.

  • BiscuitCrumbs

This doesn’t strike me as “odd”. What would be odd is if Obama made government smaller, military larger, repealed obamacare, became less intrusive to business owners, etc. THAT would stike me as odd.

  • hbnolikeee

    Odd? How about F-ed up?!

  • Lighten up people! Everyone knows going on The View is FAR more important than meeting the only ally we have in the ME at a time of turmoil and threats to build a weapon to try and destroy Israel.

We might get to hear some REAL important questions like what NObama has on his iPod these days? With all the golf has his game improved? What’s his favorite color, his star sign and does he enjoy long walks on the beach at sunset. You know the IMPORTANT stuff!

Who wants to know about Israel and all that stuff… That’s just too uncool for our pResident! He’s got Joy and Whoopie to play the fiddle with while Rome Burns!

Oh, my head! That hurt to type. I’m off for a walk before I break something!

    • Nukeman60

Netanyahu: “Mr. President, we have some serious problems over here in the Mid East that need addressing. Can we meet to discuss this situation?”

Obama: “Yeah, yeah, call me sometime.”

      • “After the election. – If Israel is still around that is.” 🙁

        • kong1967

I don’t think Israel will let it go that far. They will not wait forever. As Netanyahu said…”wait for what?”.

    • kong1967

Just think how Elisabeth Hasselbeck feels. She gets screamed over the top of all the time, but she won’t even be allowed to confront Obama at all. She will be forced to appear like she’s giving him a puff interview, but in reality she doesn’t have a choice.

    • freenca

“He’s got Joy and Whoopie to play the fiddle while Rome Burns” Yup Wolf! Joy is dish soap and Whoopie is a marshmallow filled cookie!!!

  • Rocco11

“It’s odd, but we’ll cover it up, and distract for him to the best of our abilities.”

  • CalCoolidge

You know what else is “odd,” Chuck? US Embassies under attack in 20 countries and your “news” network has no footage of it. So, I guess, you are just as “odd” as Obama.

  • IwjwI

Nothing different than voting present as a senator so his radical agenda couldn’t be scrutinized.

    • marketcomp

Moreover, if you are the President and think its just, “a bump in the road” then this explains why you really don’t care to meet with the Netanyahu or any other leader of the country.

  • PhillyCon

[Disclaimer: I know this gets old saying it.]

I highly doubt “odd” would have the word of choice for Chuck Todd if it was Bush or any other R.

  • GuessWhoFan

We all have ringside seats to the crumbling of the America we grew up in and love. And the media is complicit in every brick that falls. This election may very well be the most important event in our country’s history, and I am not one prone to hyperbole. It’s not too late to turn things around, but if we have another four years…

  • MaxineCA

I saw that O plans to apologize AGAIN for the stupid video during his speech at the UN. Well, okey dokey that ought to fix everything! What an arrogant jerk.

    • Patriot077

A prelude to the UN Resolution outlawing truth?

I sure hope our Congress doesn’t allow this “hate speech” crap to become law.

      • kong1967

No doubt, because conservatism is considered hate speech. We will be in PC hell.

The left wants to outlaw the truth and require the pushing of lies. “An Inconvenient Truth”, for example, was forced on our youth in schools.

  • NYGino

Just another affirmation that the imperial one’s job is much more important to him than the security and stature of the United States of America.

    • kong1967

Not only is it more important, but I believe this is what he wants. Why interfere with an uprising radical Islam in the process of basically creating their own continent? Why stop the attacks or respond to them? After all, we are the evil ones and Obama is putting us in our place.

      Not for long.

  • NYGino

He’s leading from behind, way behind and every day further behind.

    • kong1967

He’s leading from behind literally. He has his head up George Soros’ a$$.

  • NYGino

Has anybody ever considered the idea that just maybe the other world leaders don’t want to talk to him? A monumental waste of time and energy consulting with a fool?

    • kong1967

Lol, that could be true. On the other hand, Netanyahu has scheduled trips here so it can’t be entirely true.

It’s a conundrum. I think we are better off without Obama’s participation because he will push for the wrong agendas time and time again. He appeases the muslims, downplays the terrorists, and dismisses Israel. Yet it still angers me to see him go totally AWOL because he is not doing his duties of the office. Whether he participates or not, it’s bad news for us.

      • NYGino

You’re right kong, Netanyahu wanted to have a meeting with him to discuss such mundane matters as, oh, say, World War 111. Too bad the exalted one couldn’t fit him in his schedule. Besides, Netanyahu didn’t have 350 bottles of $800.00 Champagne to offer so why bother.

        • kong1967

You’re exactly right. I personally think the biggest reason Obama won’t meet with Netanyahu is because he doesn’t want to be schooled on how stupid he is. Well, that and he doesn’t care what Netanyahu has to say.

  • kong1967

Hey, at least he acknowledged that it is wrong…or “odd”. They usually bury anything that looks bad for the President and excuse his behavior. It may have been soft, but he didn’t excuse Obama.

  • Concerning the President’s upcoming UN schedule- it must have a lot of people wondering, when even Chuck Todd describes it as odd. Todd explained he found it odd, even in an election year, that the President would have no bilateral talks while at the UN-” considering what ‘s going on in the Middle East.” MSNBC also carried within their own video – a Fox news clip that asked a critical question about the President… will wonders never cease?

  • aposematic

What is really concerning to me is why any non-Islamic World Leader would even want to sit and listen to Obumbo lie to them?

  • Sober_Thinking

    Agreed… he is a child… with a loaded gun.

  • Our commander and Chief won’t smoke peace pipe with other chiefs from around the World visiting the U.S., not good foreign policy, shame and mistrust for America and big disappointment.

  • MerlePearl

Anyone who has studied Obama’s history and politics knows there is nothing odd about Obama’s disparagement of Israel. The way he has treated our ally, Israel is a complete disgrace.

It is odd only that Todd doesn’t understand.

  • Conservator1

The most important things Chuck Todd covers daily is not about polls, the state of the presidential or even the latest news – it’s the Soup-of-the-Day served at the White House.

  • Boris_Badenoff

Obama avoids his peers now just like when he was part of the Harvard Facility.
He is hiding the fact that he is not up to the task at hand. He hid from his fellow members at Harvard to hide his ineptness and meager intelligence and now does the same as Potus.

Look into it, it is true , don’t just take my word for it…

It is one of the reasons he spends so much of his time with students, they are still gullible enough to believe his B.S.
Obama knows he cannot fool a man like Benjamin Netanyahu and Bibi would see right through the lame ass Obama.. I am quiet sure he already has..

Obama is scared of Benjamin Netanyahu.

Obama is a intellectual Light Weight.. and he knows it and so do the rest of the worlds leaders..

So he Hides… He STILL votes present, leads from behind…

What a pathetic loser we allowed to move into our White House.

  • proudhispanicconservative

“Odd”…..what a joke ….. I am pretty sure that in the leftwing bubble this is Chuck attacking Obama, it is really becoming embarrassing for these left wing nut jobs. But we have to cut them some slack it is really hard to be defending the indefensible.

Pres 0bama does not view himself as a world leader. Pres 0bama does not approve of Americas historic leadership position. Pres 0bama is a politically correct secularist. We are all equal, a pony and a trophy for everyone. Our ambassador is dead and three of his staff, at the hands of terrorist, Pres 0bama referred to this travesty/disaster as a bump on the road. These events demonstrate Pres 0bamas ineptitude.
