***UPDATE: NRA responds to Obama*** New NRA ad: The media speaks for elites, American speaks for itself

***UPDATE: NRA responds to Obama gun proposal***

A fantastic new ad by the NRA showing how opposed the media was to his idea of putting an armed guard in each school while some of these very people have armed guards in their own schools. The great point is that the media doesn’t speak for America, only the elites:

UPDATE: Below is the NRA’s response to Obama’s gun proposal:

Throughout its history, the National Rifle Association has led efforts to promote safety and responsible gun ownership. Keeping our children and society safe remains our top priority.

The NRA will continue to focus on keeping our children safe and securing our schools, fixing our broken mental health system, and prosecuting violent criminals to the fullest extent of the law. We look forward to working with Congress on a bi-partisan basis to find real solutions to protecting America’s most valuable asset – our children.

Attacking firearms and ignoring children is not a solution to the crisis we face as a nation. Only honest, law-abiding gun owners will be affected and our children will remain vulnerable to the inevitability of more tragedy.

The argument in England was that Now that we have The Police, nobody needs to be armed for self defense. Hey folks. A self appointed aristocracy set itself up and proceeded to disarm the public, by stealth tactics – nobody reading bills, objections summarily dismissed with platitudes, the usual lying with statistics. They get away with it here for the same reasons.
It is now clear that what Feinstein wants is the same as what the Brits have been doing since about 1902, and she believes the same “philosophy”. Nadler’s statement that he believes “the state should have the monopoly on use of force” is that philosophy. It overthrows popular sovereignty and replaces it with aristocratic sovereignty. Obviously Bloomberg buys it, and so does Schumer. Cuomo just implements it. Frankly I am less concerned with their ideas than their tactics and strategies. We need to know where politicians stand on Nadler’s statement, and why and where do they get this unconstitutional garbage from. Force the issue. Don’t be a day late and a dollar short.

    • And here’s the reality in Britain: Gun crime goes up by 89% in a decade (a 2009 article at the Daily Mail)

Things haven’t gotten any better there, either. Violent crime is increasing all over Europe, even while it’s gone down here. Britain is the leader in violent crime stats, there, too.

    • colliemum

One other aspect, which was shown clearly in that video from Australia scoop had up a few days ago: they take away the guns, but also cut back on the number of police officers.
Illegal gun crime is not properly prosecuted, illegal gun owners and violent criminals get their hand slapped and are out of the clink in a year or two, if they actually ever are caught.

This all amounts to an undeclared war against the law abiding citizens, while criminals are being left undisturbed.

      • physicsnut

        undeclared war = stealth takeover.

We must always question the premise – the totalitarians and propagandists are quite skilled in framing false ones that go unchallenged.

We have an inalienable right to bear arms. That inalienable right is the essential one to keep and free us from slavery by other men.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution was written to prohibit a federal government from growing large enough infringe on that inalienable right. The need for this restriction on power was based on millenniums of historical evidence that such a Federal Government would eventually make such a move.

Once we accept the premise that right to bear arms is for hunting or personal protection, we have lost.

      • I just found out today that my sheriff, and the one north of us wrote letters to Biden telling him that they will not enforce further gun restrictions. It is in the news around here. I looked up my sheriff’s website and found out that they have a posse program because a lot of people requested it. After studying the works and words of Sheriff Mack, I am convinced that the real battle will be waged at the sheriffs offices across the country. Therefor, I am going to sign up for the program. I see that many sheriffs are getting on the band wagon, so I want to make sure that they have the support that they need.

  • LadyMacKeltar

I am a new card carrying member of the NRA and I approve of this message. 😉

    • Me too! I just signed up a few weeks ago!

    • sDee

      Welcome! Thank You!

    • martha chandler

I am proud to say I become a member of the NRA today. We need to stand behind them and give them the power they need to fight bo. BO has gotta go!!! BO has gotta go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun… is a GOOD guy with a gun.”

What a line! Perfect, Pithy and TRUE!

  • kong1967

Libs want to limit the size of the clip. What was it, ten bullets?

How will this stop a mass murderer? As in the Colorado theater shooter, he will take several guns and as many clips as needed. He plans ahead and knows what he’s going to do.

Someone in their home does not know if or when someone will try to break into their home or what their motives are. If someone starts to break in and you grab your gun, you only have what ammo is in the gun already or what you can quickly load into it. People don’t carry extra ammo or extra guns in their pockets. Mass killers do.

More “feel good” laws that won’t accomplish anything accept to endanger innocent civilians in their own homes.

    • Very well said buddy!!! THEY have the advantage of preparation…there is NOTHING we can do to prepare to the level of the murderer when the time comes to pass, and restricting the amount of ammunition we can put in our magazines simply tilts the scales in the murderer’s favor…

Then again, I live in California and don’t even ASK me how many magazines I have, fully loaded at all times when I’m home!!!

      • kong1967

    • physicsnut

uh – ACTUALLY libs want to send info to the govt EVERY TIME YOU BUY AMMO. Forget the small stuff and look at the other stuff.

      • kong1967

It’s illegal for them to collect information. Oh, wait. It’s Obama. Law means nothing to him.

  • Marky_D

Excellent ad. Well done to the NRA.

  • Oh man, this is more like it!! Spread it far and wide!

  • theresaaa

I’ve been a NRA member for half my life just renewed last month .
I love this ad , it gets to the truth of the matter .

  • stage9

Great ad but where is it being shown? online? on tv? what? An ad is only as effective as the audience it’s able to reach.

    • Hopefully on twitter and facebook now at least. But I wish I could afford it and I’d put it on ever ad spot on the alphabet 6:30 news slot.

      • The NRA should take some of that money they just got from all the new members and buy some time slots.

        • Excellent idea!

          • I just tweeted them the suggestion. 🙂

            • nibblesyble

Yay Wolfie! I hope they listen…

        • stage9

          Exactly! PR! PR! PR!

        • aposematic

Yea, what is it for new members these days…used to be $20/year. Anyway, 250k new members last month at that old rate would be $5M. Might get them a 30 second spot at 4am. Yes, I’m being facetious but I remember Romney’s campaign being charged much more for TV ads than Obuma’s campaign.

  • physicsnut

The House of Lords figured it out in 1902 – long before Frankfurt, and long before Alinsky. In fact, it is more adapted to take advantage of weaknesses in this form of government. Joyce Lee Malcolm quotes them by name. Unfortunately there is no further info on their associations or ‘philosophy’ – like whether they were fabians, or in that clique – i forget what brits call them – ‘the xxxx set’ . This is what makes them Effective Subversives – they know the system and how to play it.

  • colliemum

That was a very good ad – taking on the supercilious, hypocritical eejits in the meejah, and showing what actual Americans do when it comes to their kids and the schools they go to.

I wish someone would ask especially those of a more dusky pigmentation why they are so for gun control when the kids and young men of theirs are being killed and are killing with illegal guns.
What are they doing about this?
How is denying guns to law abiding citizens going to stop the illegal guns from reaching the hands of their own tribe?
Ah – I forgot: they don’t dare show themselves in those inner city ghettos without their own armed gunmen, who of course have guns with more than seven or ten cartridges …

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CO2isGood

Of course, this ad is commonsense, and we know that makes it repulsive to Democrats. They do not want to stop violence they want to control every aspect of our lives.

Disarming us is simply a necessary step in gaining that control.

  • aposematic

“the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun”

You would think with all the money we spend on defense, Military, and wars we have fought that that should be obvious.

    • Rocco11

Imam Obama has thrown a wrench into the very definitions of good guy, and bad guy. In his universe, Al Queda are the good guys, and Conservatives (or anyone who fights the Statist agenda) are the bad guys.

    • sjmom

Should be but its not. Remember how many voted for Obama? The dumbing down is now far and wide.

    • sDee

      “Who Needs an Assault Rifle?”

      As Wild Bill puts it:

When bad guys know that assault rifles are waiting for them, it greatly reduces the chance of having to fire one”

  • marketcomp

Thank you, NRA, for standing for liberty and the 2nd Amendment!

  • sjmom

This was a very good ad by the NRA and the Republicans need to run with “protect our schools and children” and show Obama to not care about “your”children and they wouldn’t even have to lie because he doesn’t.

  • johnos2112

And if you don’t think this man is right just remember Columbine!

  • stevenbiot

The NRA is putting on the brass knuckles and doing battle. Let’s throw down with them!

  • Excellent.

  • 1endtimes2020

I don’t trust either party to do the right thing, We need a Founding Fathers Party that will respect our Heritage, protect our Sovereignty, and place America 1st in our economy and military, and remember the governments are the servants of the people. We don’t need polls. We need referendums that consult the American people on major issues.

  • Sober_Thinking

The NRA is the only sane voice in this discussion.

Screw the liberal media. Screw these hypocrites who oppose common sense. Let them allow their children out there as bait if that’s what they choose to do… but we will protect our kids… with or without your help.

  • A good article about the NRA’s “Fight of the Century” can be found at the link below.

    ===partial quote
“The NRA sat in on a White House meeting that was sold to the public as an ‘open discussion’ about how to improve school safety.” LaPierre wrote. “But that was a dirty lie. They didn’t listen to gun owners’ concerns…they didn’t consider any real solutions on how we can keep our kids safe. Instead Barack Obama, Joe Biden and their gun ban allies in Congress only want to BLAME you, VILIFY you, BULLY you, and STRIP you of your Second Amendment freedoms.”

LaPierre warned his members about Obama’s plan, saying: “Right now, they’re steamrolling ahead with legislation that would ban your guns, register your ammunition purchases and even force you to register the firearms you already own with Obama’s anti-gun bureaucrats.”

Some of the comments on that report show why there is simply no reasoning with anyone on the left.

      Thanks for the link, Wolfie!

  • nibblesyble

That is how you do it…fight back hard, fight back with facts, just bloody fight back! No more hiding in the corner with heads down! Breitbart would be proud!

    • StandProudNow

Well, since our party -the wussy gopE- ain’t got a spine to say a darn thing that is worthwhile, or to have a presser, at LEAST we have the NRA.

(There are a few brave voices in the party, we know who they are… they are excluded from the above 🙂

Guess where I’m putting my money??

      • nibblesyble

We do indeed know who they are!

Got blisters in my hands. 🙂

Best blisters I’ve gotten in my entire life!

    Terrific video….

    #12 from Obama’s list of EO’s today…
“Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.”

    #18 from Obama’s list of EO’s today….
“Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.”

    Hypocrites….all of them.
Have I said yet today how much I loathe Obama and his EOs, and the LSM that think they’re all experts.

    • 3seven77

Anyone know what a “resource officer” is?

      • TENCOLE

“…School resource officers will traditionally supervise a school campus while armed, enforce school rules, assist with disruptive students, monitor visitors to the school or teach law-enforcement education during school hours. School resource officers may be civilians without full police powers…..”

      • KenInMontana

A SRO (at least in Montana) is a city Police Officer assigned to the school.

  • Now we know the reason why Obama waited till after the election to try and grab our guns. He did NOT want the NRA to beat the cr*p out of him like they’re doing now lol.

  • WhiteGuy2

Sign this petition to make the white house a gun free zone.

“Eliminate armed guards for the President, Vice-President, and their families, and establish Gun Free Zones around them
Gun Free Zones are supposed to protect our children, and some politicians wish to strip us of our right to keep and bear arms. Those same politicians and their families are currently under the protection of armed Secret Service agents. If Gun Free Zones are sufficient protection for our children, then Gun Free Zones should be good enough for politicians.”

  • aquaviva

I just gifted a NRA membership to my Godson – and tonight I’ll gift another for his father.

    • StandProudNow

Best gift you ever made!! And God Bless!

  • c4pfan

So, didn’t Obama basically end up agreeing with the NRA about providing guards at the schools?

  • johnos2112

It is amazing. You can legally have an abortion and it is the law of the land. Yet we have a bill of rights, BILL OF RIGHTS to bare arms and yet this maggot Obama wants to take that right away. And do not tell me that Obama is not wanting to disarm America because ultimately that is his wet dream! You have a right to take a life but not a right to protect your own?

  • StandProudNow

A lot of ads sorta make you read between the lines and require prior knowledge about the topic. This ad hits home!! Very, very well made!!

    Go Constitution of America!!

  • joined nra 3 days ago. joined gun owners of america this morning. armed people may not be 100% safe. but it better than being 100% helpless.

  • 12grace

G-d bless the NRA, they are one of the few groups standing between the gov’t enslaving us.

God Bless all my fellow gun pwners… Hang in there brothers and sisters. Dont forget what Ben Franklin said… “We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately.” This is the first shot in the war for our God given right to defend ourselves from people that would do us harm and tyrannical governments, whether it be foreign or our own. The propagandist media arm of Zero has always been on the side with leftist authoritarians. They are also hypocrites, as we have seen with the Journal News. ALL of the leftists in the video are nothing but abject know-nothings. They are the sycophantic posterior smoochers of Zero. They are baseless liars. It is a pity so many people, misguided or not, listen to and watch them, giving them undeserved credibility.

  • Jay

Spokesboy Jay Carney blasts the NRA for using children to further their agenda while 0 surrounds himself with them to announce the beginnings of gun confiscation. What a bunch of f’ng hypocrits. And don’t kid yourselves, this is just the first round. They’ll get those evil guns out of the hands of all them knuckle-draggin’ neantherthal NRA members no matter what it takes. -Jay, NRA life member.

  • I never thought I would live to see the day when the news media works for the central government. Now I understand how Hitler, Stalin, and other dictators managed to fool so many millions.

  • pocketmouse

This is simple, 1st take all the laws passed in the heat of this exchange, and explain if they are constitutional, and 2nd – show us how they would have made ONE bit if difference to what happened.

And finally – explain why we surround our money with armed guards but not our most precious possession, the children.

  • JohnCraven

I am becoming more and more convinced that if the NRA and the TEA Party Movement would join forces and pool their resources they could make a viable alternative party to the Marxists of the Democrat Party who clearly despise our nation’s constitution and to the Big Whigs in the comatose Republican Party who are more than happy to play second fiddle to Nero Ceasor Obama.

This ad needs to run everywhere as often as possible.

The reason that liberals are going ballistic against the NRA is that liberals do not like resistance to their elitist, leftist tyranny.

  • idontvote

Its OK for the POTUS to parade out kids when he signs his bill on guns and to use lies, fear, and propaganda in ads to get re-elected but the NRA is in the gutter?
Sounds like both sides are guilty of the same thing.
