      # 3 ~ I will answer the phone when my friend from the U.S. calls…(he heh… Sorry I was sleepin’ again due to still being on ESBHT aka Eastern Standard Bow Hunting Time…up well before Dawn, bed shortly after dark…)

      # 4 ~ I will try to find better jokes for my Scooper Friends!

        What has irked me from the beginning is that that poor dog has been used as prop, but has no proper ‘pack’, he’s been looked after by some WH employes, taken out for a photo op, that’s all. It’s cruelty to dogs, and if it was up to me, the POS would also be re-born as a sardine: perpetually hunted across the oceans, living in constant fear and living only to be eaten by orcas, sharks, gannets, seagulls, and us.
        So be it for all who abuse animals, so be it for the POS.

        Here, the first fireworks have been going off already – but, seeing that we’ve had rain, rain and more rain, and that the grounds in the park where they like to send their fireworks off are more like a mud bath than grass, it’s been deliciously quiet.
        All the dogs who’ve been so dejected with all the rain will appreciate a less noisy New Year’s Eve.

            It’s been absolutely awful here. It’s not so much the rain as such, it’s the standing water, the rivers overflowing, and the mud everywhere. That’s what happens after weeks of rain: gentle rain, hammering rain, driving rain, relentless rain.

            As for the fireworks: the previous housewolves were absolutely terrified by them, in company with so many other dogs. One was trembling all the time, from deep inside, one other kept barking at every bang, and didn’t settle until well into the early morning. Nor did we – his barking kept us awake.

            For all dog owners: feed them a big bowl of cooked pasta, with whatever they like mixed in, around 6 p.m. It settles them, and once I did that, they were so much calmer and so much more relaxed. Pity I didn’t know that earlier …
            (Apparently it also helps people sleep who are a bit insomniac)

            • lol. I know the feeling there too mum. We have 2 seasons here in South Florida- Hurricane and Fire. When I complain about the dry, I always am reminded in the summer as I wade through the lakes to feed my chickens. xoxoxo

                That’s why I’ve always loved the West Coast of Ireland, where one only needs

                which one wears singly or in any combination, or all three together. That sees one through the day and through the year. Mind – a change for all three of them is necessary because everything will get wet …!

                (Can’t the chickens be taught to swim to where you feed them?)

    I spend about $2,000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc., but it ‘s time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

    I ‘ m going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio (1/35,000) of my total budget.

    After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2,000 a month, I will have to have to cut that number by six cents.

    Yes, I ‘m going to have to get by with $1,999.94, but that ‘s what sacrifice is all about.

    I ‘ ll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries – six cents worth.

    As this is an OT, I’d like to recommend a book I’ve just finished reading: “Former People”, by Douglas Smith.
    It is about the history of the near-total annihilation of the Russian nobility from 1917 to the 1840s. It is important not because of the deaths of so many people, but because of the way the propaganda of the communists worked, because of the description how the ‘administrative’ regulations of the communists deprived people of their livelihoods even after they had been robbed of all they possessed – and of the lessons we all really ought to learn from that.
    Mob rule is very easy to incite.
    Just imagine how the ‘free stuff’ obamaphone voters will react once there is no more money, and the lying, screaming meejah tell them to get it from “The Rich” …
    Prepare yourselves – evil times are not that far off, sadly.

      what struck me was the deep faith expressed by so many who suffered so much in Russia – from holding masses in secret, to the constant re-affirmation in their letters to each other that only faith in Him will help see them through.

      This was very humbling for me.

  • If I were a conservative in Congress today, I would just go home and not even bother voting. Let everybody’s taxes go up. Isn’t that “fair?” Isn’t Obama all into “fairness?” Well, what could be more fair than to have everybody have some skin in the tax game? The majority of morons voted for Obama, now they can gather the fruits of their vote. Let them see how expensive the welfare state really is. You want all the “goodies” that go with it, well now you can pay for it too. What’s not to love? Maybe next time you will not vote for a liberal Democrat bent on bankrupting the nation. That is, of course, unless you really like paying for somebody else’s benefits.

      I think so too, Libertyship46, but I fear that the Obamanites still won’t make the connection as to why everything costs so much more in the coming years, they’ll just assume the greedy rich are still not paying enough to offset their incomes and freebies.     Okay I just got a great package in the mail! A week or two ago, I made a purchase at The Right Scoop store after seeing an intriguing note at the bottom of one of Scoop’s videos. I’ve added “The Nazi Connection to Islamic Terrorism” to my literary library and “The Armenian Genocide”, “America and the Holocaust”, “Who Shall Live and Who Shall Die”, “Good Evening, Mr. Wallenberg”, and “The Forsaken Promise” (purchased as a set) to my DVD collection. I have long studied the Holocaust and other aspects of the European side of WWII and know that each will further my knowledge.

    I loved Star Trek and all the spin offs. Fuller wrote scripts for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. My favorite were the shows about the Borg. It was the best Sci-Fi writing we’ll ever see on TV. The old Star Trek TV show was amazing for it’s time. Communication with a flip open phone…nah could never happen.

          Saw Mr King a few months ago. I love the man. Legendary. I wish he weren’t 87. I brought a small sign that read Happy Birthday BB, and he actually got up from his seat and walked over to the edge of the stage to shake my hand, and hand me a few guitar shaped pins. He was so frail and I was soo worried that he was going to fall. Thankfully he has very good detail that seems to take very good care of him.

            Going to see Mr. King here in Nanaimo BC on March 5 2013. I am five rows from the front, centre stage. It cost me a lot, but to see this man up close at any age, for me, is a privelege and honour.

              We’ve seen him a couple handful of times. As a devoted supporter/fan of Mr King’s I want you to know that I say this with the upmost respect. His age is finally catching up to him. I love him and to be in his great company is fulfilling in its on right. However his dexterity is starting to show. Personally, I would be happy to sit on a stool and listen to him tell stories- for they are (almost) as incredible as his guitar playing.
              Your collection sounds impressive. What kind of blues? modern? old style?

              I cannot believe that during our move from Cali to Arizona most of my vinyl was lost or taken by the movers. I know it doesn’t mean much to most people but it sure meant a lot to me, and it was mine from junior high- thru my 20’s, 30’s.
              If you are inclined to check this site out:
              It has an amazing assortment of mostly live music—I think about 50,000 shows—-in a searchable database. I haven’t tried to record any of it, but it is downloadable to your computer. Usually I just open the site and listen to whatever I want.
              It looks like it started out pretty hippy ish, Grateful Dead kind of way….and evolved.

                My blues encompasses the greats from Robert Johnson to Muddy Waters, to John Lee Hooker, a collection of 15 (i think) CD’s of the history of Chess Records, all the way up to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Downchild (Canadian Band), Johnny Winter, it’s an impressive collection. thanks so much for that link, just added it to my bookmarks.

                As for seeing BB live-Johnny Winter was the same, frail and almost blind. Still put on a heck of a show and could play like the old days. There’s a blues guitarist from Nanaimo who has performed with him on tours, he helped him to sit down and even jammed with him. That was an incredible show, one of my favourited. I am so looking forward to seeing BB with the same local guitarist who opened for Johnny Winter.

                  I am so looking forward to this show. Our town isn’t blessed with many good shows, this was a sell-out within minutes.

                  The place where it is being held at has a membership and members got first crack at the tickets. I joined, in order to get the “secret code” to get the tickets in the members only pre-sale.

                  Picture this-I had to work on the day this happened. So, I get to work, fire up their creaky old computer and logged in. By 11:08, the servers were overloaded but I managed to get my ticket – fifth row from the front, centre stage.

                  As for my collection-you’ll now be in my thoughts as I run through my collection, like right now. Got me some BB King playing as I type this out.

                  The almost same thing happened when we saw the BB King show. We upgraded to the meet and greet for Robert Cray so we could get access to the “gold” seats. Thats how we got first row.
                  Im telling you the little sign I had for BB really seemed to mean a lot. Sure I know, people bring stuff all the time, but he got out of his chair, and walked over to me. His people take such good care of him, it could actually make me cry.

                  Thank you for thinking of me!!! Music is what has kept me sane for all these years. No matter– what its there.

                  I know what you mean about lack of shows- I grew up in San Francisco – where music was everywhere and now I pretty much have to travel to find shows. I dont mind the travel that much, although they make it as painful as possible- but it is pricey so we have to save. Thankfully Phoenix does bring in some good acts.

                  I prefer the smaller venues, though and thats a challenge.

                  There is quite an extensive collection of BB King stuff on the Sugarmegs site. As I said, when I am on the computer, often times I just open their site and click a show or two, or sometimes just a song. If the player asks “Show web enhanced content?” say YES and you will be able to see setlists and other graphics if there is any.

                  I like this Stevie Ray Vaughan selection (its not all one show) —it has some guests on it like Jeff Healey, Lonnie Brooks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Neville Brothers.

                  I’d have to travel either by car (on the Island) or to Vancouver ( a 2 hour ferry ride) to find some decent shows. It gets really pricey to do that.

                  I’m originally from Niagara Falls-had good access to shows in either Buffalo NY or Toronto. I do miss that and that’s why I jumped on the tickets here. The Falls has a good, small venue with its casino (2000), where I’m seeing BB King is small and intimate.

                  BTW, BB’s opening act is a local boy, an excellent blues guitarist in his own right. He’s got quite a name through Canada and Europe, does a lot of touring over there. If you want to listen, go to You Tube and search-he does have some videos out there.

                  Many years ago, I helped to organize “Blues in the Park”, in Niagara. what an experience that was, especially being able to meet and greet with James Cotton. I have an autographed poster from him. Again, the voice was shot, but he could still belt out the music. As for your meeting John Lee Hooker-no matter if he left after playing “Boom Boom”, that would still rank as a highlight.

                  So glad to share a love of good music with a fellow Blues aficionado -….takes away from the stench of politics.

                  Linky, The last time we saw BB, The opener was Robert Cray. Can you believe it?
                  He was incredible as always. We bought the meet and greet which entailed a photo with the band in the stairway.
                  He smiled the entire time!!!
                  BB was the headliner and the
                  Tedeschi Trucks band also played. I knew Susan from earlier in her career when she sang solo but her band now, with her hubby sounds really good.

                  One time, back in the 90’s I met John Lee Hooker. I was still living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and working in a gym. A member was an assistant to an assistant to him, and kept “bragging” that she would bring him to a birthday. To everyones surprise she actually did. He wasnt a Teddy bear kind of guy but he could play the guitar.
                  At the party he thrilled everyone by playing Boom Boom by himself with just his guitar. He then just got up and left.

              It snowed here on Christmas Day, not a lot, just enough that I had to go and clean on the satellite dish. It melted within a couple of hours.

              Since I live on the West Coast of Canada (on Vancouver Island), it has rained almost non-stop since mid October and we have had very little sunshine. I would have exchanged with you in a minute – while I can tolerate some rain, it’s getting to the ridiculous point here what with all of the rain.

              The same wishes back to you, my friend – a Happy and Healthy 2013 to you and yours.

    ‘Próspero año y felicidad, Amigos’. A greeting I’ll be using may times at work tonight.
    Only in the case of where I work, it translates to, ‘Let’s go pick up a few cases of Corona and get really ripped’. 😉 😉
    No, that’s ‘racist’, there’s a group of young Mexican guys who come in to buy beer, they are honorable, hard working, kids (which is more than I can say for some of the ‘White trash’ I deal with) and they can really ‘tie one on’ over a weekend or holiday. It took them a little time to figure out I ‘hablo espanol un poquito’ (speak a little ‘slang’ Spanish) and we tease each other unmercifully. 🙂 🙂
    I call them ”mis Amigos los borrachos” (loosely translated, “My drunken friends”) and they call me names I can’t print here in English or Spanish. 😉
    Moral to this story? If we can’t make humorous light of our differences, as a society, we are doomed and that’s exactly what the likes of Obama, Sharpton and ‘La Raza’ (and Hitler) are trying to erase. 🙁

            ‘Lizzie’ is being a little cranky right now, she doesn’t want to start. I guess that’s to be expected, she will be 86 on the 6th of Feb. I was going to drive her to and from last week and put the Rambler in the garage for some much needed repairs. When I bought her, she had been sitting for 16 years and I got her running, 6 months won’t be much of a problem. It’s got a lot to do with this krappy 10% ethanol gasoline. For a car that will run on ‘Moonshine’ and kerosene, you wouldn’t think it would be that big a problem but it is. Even a Model T won’t run on water. 😉

        When you get up to the museum, I’ll show you some stuff that would REALLY create some fireworks! All disarmed of course, as it must be by law. In the gun case, we have a Soviet rocket propelled grenade (RPG) just like the ones the Muslims are using against our guys in ‘the sand box’ right now. How we ended up with it, (or how it even got into the country), I don’t know.

        • We’re hoping to come up next Sunday. Just us, not the group yet. Still working on trying to see who can do what day for the field trip. I am anxious to visit soon. I’ll let you know closer to the weekend if we can make it or not! 🙂

            The Mrs. and I will be running the place on the 13th and the 23rd, however, we will be there on the 6th. Probably sometime around 3 or 4. The museum will be closing early (5:30, normal hours, noon to 6) on the 6th, for a staff party but I’ll bet I can ‘fix’ things so you could stick around. There will be ‘living history’ there like you wouldn’t believe, for the party.

        If we turn on our porch light we get “in trouble.” We have a dark sky policy here- so annoying.
        We’re such agitators though that we’ve been leaving the radio on all night to keep the chipmunks and other varmints away. After replacing the wiring in my husbands truck—-, and trying everything else – the only thing that really works is music and lights.
        When the city came out to lecture us and warn us of the fine again…. I said- look if you want to replace the wiring I’ll turn off the music- other wise it stays on. (its not loud, and we’re the only ones that can hear it)

        • Oh good grief. Once upon a time people were able to live in their own house, on their own piece of property and it was considered their own. Sigh… If I lived on the beach out here, I’d have to do the same during turtle nesting season. I love ya you rebel! 😀

        Usually on New Years, I wait for all the fireworks to get going around midnight and do an ‘operational check’ on one of my guns in the back yard. Note: I fire it DOWN, into the lawn and the sand below the lawn. Unlike a Muslim, I understand the theory of gravity. I was born at night but it wasn’t last night. 😉
        Since I’ll be at work, I had to promise the Mrs. I wouldn’t fire the .32 into the planter at work. She can be such a spoil sport sometimes.

        OF COURSE I’m kidding, (about firing the gun at work, anyway) Even though my Mrs. and my boss probably wouldn’t put it past me.

  • I find myself unaccountably sober this New Year’s Eve. Partly due to some work I have to do, partly because I felt like facing the end of the American Moment face-forward and clear-minded. We have a lot of work to do, folks.

    I’m just heartened to know we have some sane, determined, and intelligent people on our side of this war; and make no mistake: we are on a war footing. It hasn’t come to shooting yet, but the law is being dismantled by the left and totalitarianism is on the rise.

    My wishes for 2013:

    * That you all work hard on your situational awareness, and stay safe, above all.

    * That Mark Levin will stop using the word ‘soft’ in front of the word ‘tyranny,’ when referring to this government.

    * That more than 10% of all gun owners believe in the Second Amendment, and that it must be enforced at all costs. All costs.

    …there are approximately 50 million gun owners (according to official estimates) in the United States. If only 2% of those gun owners refuse to submit to the Feinstein Database, and the feds attempt confiscation, they will have a massive revolution on their hands

    * That all of you with friends or children in the military make sure they know that The Constitution is the Law Of The Land, and that the phrase “shall not be infringed” will be enforced; preferably by them, but certainly by the people.

    * That each of us conduct ourselves as though every word we type were being watched (they are), and our every movement were being traced (they are). Not by humans with eyes on any particular one of us, but as a mass of data that can be sifted and combed algorithmically by computers to bring up watch-words and phrases, and attach weight to the usage. The technology is still being worked on, but it’s already here.

    * That each of us goes forth using the same determination to “watch back.” We must watch them, and we must store the data, and publish the data when we see tyrannical moves. We must publish the names of Republicans who aid and abet this tyranny just as much as we must publish the names of those on the Left. Always be prepared to record your interactions with the left. Always take your cameras. Learn to use the camera and record facilities of your smart phone. You are the media.

    * If you can spare a few bucks, support those who are in this fight. Certain bloggers come to mind, but also things like PACs that are not part of the Republican party establishment. I guess Sarah PAC is still active. If anyone knows of a useful one, chime in.

    * Prepare for a rough, financial new year. I would be thrilled to be wrong about this. History insists otherwise.

    * Keep your eye on prosperity at all times. Even while things are going downhill, work hard to make your situation better.

    * Remember you aren’t alone in your thinking. But you still need to be prepared.

    * This is a list of positive things. Things we need to do. We can enjoy life while doing them. So let the new year bring hard work, some fun, and some hint that the 2014 elections will be a bigger landslide than the 2010 elections.

      A good way to finish the evening, K-Bob. All the global warming advocates, including Al Gore, fly all over the world in their magnificent airplanes. Fuel burning, gas guzzling wonders of modern engineering.

      Of course, they are concerned, as we all are, about using fossil fuels to get around the planet. None of them want us driving gas guzzling cars, but they have no problem with gas guzzling airplanes. The hypocrisy is sickening.

      When Nancy Pelosi was House Majority Leader, she absolutely had to have a Boeing 757 to make her weekly trips to San Francisco. Lord knows what that cost the American taxpayer. She couldn’t fly commercial.

      Actually, Obama and Reid and Pelosi, have actually served a very good purpose. They have shown all of us, what the excesses of too much political power represents. T

      The inherent corruption of someone like Harry Reid. The arrogance of someone like Nancy Pelosi, who thinks she is some sort of Queen. The ignoring of The Constitution by all of them. And finally, Obama himself, who considers himself above all of us mere mortals.

      His ego is so large, and he is so sick in his own mind, that he does in fact, think of himself as some sort of God-King. You can see it in his actions. You can see it in his words. You can see it in the way he lies, boldly to the cameras.

      He believes The Constitution is a flawed instrument, outdated and in need of change. He believes he owns the Supreme Court, and in fact, he actually does. He has made the Supreme Court part of the Executive. Other Presidents have tried, but he nailed it. He put the Supreme Court under lock and key, and he holds the key.

      We began this country with people who believed in Freedom, and were willing to die for it. Over two hundred years later, the government our Founders risked their very lives to create, has been taken over by the most corrupt individuals ever to breathe air on this planet. They do not live for Freedom. They live for power. Every single one of them is a millionaire, if not a billionaire.

      They do not represent us. They had no intention of representing us, when they went to Washington in the first place. They went to Washington for power and wealth. They have achieved both, and they are not about to give up either.

      Then we need to unseat them and take away the power they hold over us. Right?
      How exactly are you going to do that, when most of the brain dead Americans living right next to you on any street in America, voted to re-elect this maniac?

      You have a plan for doing that, I would sure love to see it. I don’t deal in hopes and dreams. I deal in reality. I deal with what is right in front of me. The reality I see right now, is that we have lost this country to a man who wasn’t even born here, and to a Congress and a media, who bought the lie. Because that’s what it was, from the very beginning. A lie.

      This man has no legitimate claim on the office he holds. His very existence, as our President, is a mockery of everything our History and our Government stands for.

      He is a Proxy of George Soros and Warren Buffet, and other Uber rich individuals who welcome a New World Order type of government, that will make them even more wealthy than they are already.

      But at some point, it isn’t about wealth anymore. These people are so wealthy, that wealth no longer has any meaning. The only thing left is power. And that is what these people desire. Power. The power to control how the rest of us live.

      Have you noticed the change, from Senator Obama, to President Obama? Take a moment and think about that. The difference between those two people illustrates what I am talking about. The addiction of power. It is a drug as real as anything out there. Better than the best Cocaine. Right now, Obama is drunk with power.

      A man who is drunk, is dangerous. Obama is drunk. He is therefore, dangerous.

      We are just beginning the second term of a man who has already proven himself to be a madman. I believe the first four years of his Presidency were the learning years.

      I believe the next four years will show you the full force of what this man is truly capable of.

      At the end of his second term, I don’t think you will recognize this country.
